This is not a bad Kohls location and it's fairly organized and well maintained compared to other locations. When we came in we were treated by the security guard who also gave us a shopping cart. Walking around people asked if I needed help finding anything, which was nice to hear because you hear it less and less. I found decor for my playroom and for a great clearance price too it's worth looking in the back. Something I didn't care for was that two or three cashiers at the front were having their own loud conversation that wasn't very appropriate and they did not have the professionalism to cut the convo short for a minute and just resume after we checked out. The young man we had as our cashier though was incredibly professional and ultra polite. I don't go to kohls often but when I do it's typically to buy Nike or Adidas because I know they have it there. read more

We went tonight to find my nephew a shirt for our birthday dinner tomorrow night. I stopped is Sephora to get the perfume my sister wanted. It was out of stock so i grabbed one I wanted. On the way out I grabbed a Fenty Gloss instead for my sister. Here's where the issue came in. I put my card in, put in my pin and it said take your card out. She then says oh it didn't go through. So I repeated the process and this time she said I have to call Corporate. It came up as a duplicate purchase. The manager comes over and he's TRYING to explain to me that it didn't go through. Until I pulled up my bank account and the debt is already out of my account. I showed him my account 3 times and he kept saying it will drop off. No it won't it already came out of my account that's why it's saying duplicate. After he comes back he brings a receipt that's 5 minutes after the first receipt that says voided in store. It wasn't a void. My daughter was being really polite but he came off as rude, very rude. He wasn't listening to what we were saying. His facial expression showed he didn't care it was his way or no way. He then said she has to pay for it ...again. I said no I don't want it. The two people working were amazing. They saw I was handicapped and needed just a little more help. They smiled and talked to me with respect just as I was doing with them. Bryce the manager was very rude and didn't care that it came out of My account all he wanted to do was mansplane to us. When my daughter asked his name he said it with an attitude. For no reason. No one raised their voice at him not once. I love Sephora but I will never in my Life go back to that location because of him. He makes no one want to shop. The undisputed FACTS: 1-Return item was a pair of PJ's WITH the tags attached, unworn, in pristine condition 2-AND I had a gift receipt 2a--In fact, I had both the gift receipt and a very clear, perfect picture of the regular receipt--proving the purchase price, $11.20, and that no coupon or discount was used!! 2b--item purchased 5 days ago with a credit card 2c--purchase price was $11.20 3-I did not use any coupon or discount on my purchase. 4--I was offered $9.00 refund ONLY!! When I said no, there is no reason not to refund my entire purchase price the manager, Brice, offered me $9.00 or a 'merchandise credit'. He 100% thought shorting me $2+ was an acceptable thing to do. Not once did he apologize or say it was wrong to reduce the amount of my refund. Brice stated the computer system would not allow him to refund the whole amount to me. So I'd really like to know; Does Kohl's short everyone who uses a gift receipt? Brice not only did not apologize but he treated me like I was doing something wrong by returning an item in pristine condition with tags and a receipt in less than a weeks time. I wonder how often Kohl's is cheating/shorting customers who use a gift receipt? And couldn't Brice have looked up my purchase via my credit card (per attached return policy) and given me a EVEN return? Or do they cheat you there too?? When I told Brice I would come back with actual receipt instead of the picture and gift receipt I had with me, he told me it would not matter. He stated regardless of what I paid 5 days ago I could NOT have a full refund for any reason and that no manager would be able to give me more than the $9 he offered or a merchandise credit. I intend to return to this kohls often. It is one of the best stocked Kohls I have been into. I noticed they had an electronics section which I have never seen at a Kohls before. It's great because they have a little of everything. My wife and I found all the items we were looking for. I went in to get a Father's Day gift (my dad LOVES socks) and also found that they had a section of cards. BONUS! I found one polo that was marked at full price and on a whim, took it to the cash register and asked for a price check. It was 40% off. Glad that I checked! In the past, I have waited in some long lines at Kohls, but this place was running on 8 cylinders and had me checked out in a jiffy. Can't wait to head back and use my Kohl's Cash! read more

Lots of staff, which isn't a problem if you're just a regular shopper and need help with anything. If you're here to steal- lol there's lots of staff. It seems like they have problems near closing with shoplifting but are quick to address the situation. But if you're open late in Anchorage, you're going to attract those kind of people. I do like that I can go shopping after the malls close though. Every staff I've interacted with has been helpful to me. From questions on sales and coupons to help finding what I am looking for or price checks. You can find good deals here if you look. Or, if price doesn't matter, they have a ton of selection. I just bought my toddler little Nike shoes for $20 using sale price and $10 bonus cash. When buying kids shoes (and you do have to buy a lot considering they grow so fast) you do need to find good deals. They have a good selection of workout clothes that are different than what other stores offer. Plus I love the buy online and pick up in store option. I wish they had a little more selection for the 30ish women's range, it seems like they have mostly (for women) teenybopper clothes and then straight to 40s+ clothes. But the workout clothing selection keeps me coming back. read more

In the back right, they have the best selection of ties including some very artistic men's ties to add a little pop to your dressed up look. I also enjoy their limited selection of suit vests. The men's clothing is all located in one area from casual to fancy so you can stay in one area and do all your shopping. read more

I believe this is the only Kohl's store in town. It is fairly big. They do carry a good assortment of merchandises. While the store has good policies on the return process, it can be a little disappointing at times. There are two lines: return and online pickup in the back of the store. A couple of times I was there to return some items, they served all the customers at the online pickup line first before they even addressed me even though I was there way ahead of those customers. I really like Kohls. Now that Sears has gone down the crapper, Kohls and JCPenney are my favorite places for clothing shopping. I've gotten AMAZING deals at Kohls. It takes some work and patience, but when I'm diligent I always score some super sweet deals. They've got a wide variety of styles and sizes and price ranges which is rare in Anchorage. They've got a decent mens, kids and home section too. I'm seriously a fan. I took off a star because they don't have enough selection of plus sized underwear and bras. ANCHORAGE -- Before my wife was diagnosed with a stage 4 terminal and aggressive rare cancer she made purchase of $126.03 per our Visa card statement for sundry socks and underwear items at the local Kohl's store. We left the state for cancer treatment, and she never removed items from the original Kohl's bag. Upon my return to state after her death, I found the bag with all tagged and unused items. No receipt in bag, but I found charge in the amount of credit card purchase. Kohl's advertises itself as "hassle-free" for returns, but it is the ONLY department or online outfit that was a hassle. They refused to consider my circumstances and credit card statement and were unmoved by my explanation that only my wife knew where the receipt was, and I have never successfully mastered the art of communicating with the dead. I returned over $2,500 worth of wife-purchased items to Macy's, Nordstrom, Bed Bath & Beyond, Land's End, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, Swimsuits for All and others I can't recall. Every single one accepted returns for full refunds without hassle, and none of them refer to themselves as "hassle-free". I did receive a reply from Marquita ** at Kohl's including this line: "I have requested that a member from the store's Executive Team respond to you within five business days regarding your experience." That was on June 9th, 2017. Still have not heard back almost a month later. Moral of story: When a company has to state something everyone assumes goes without saying whether it be about its "hassle-free" return policy or its "fair and balanced" news, expect the opposite is true. My girlfriend just went in to the tikahtnu Kohl's looking for a black polo shirt for work, as she's looking at shirts, a loss prevention employee walks up to her, asks her if she needs help finding anything, she says why yes, I'm looking for a black polo for work. I go in the store to speak with the manager, wondering how the hell could they be treating paying customers like that, and go and find it the manager, she's standing next to the LP who threw my girlfriend out of the store for no reason, I ask the LP sir, why did you kick my girlfriend out of the store, she did absolutely nothing but choose to go to kohls to purchase a shirt . He says he had suspicions, and didn't have to give me a reason. I look at the manager and say and you're okay with this? She says yea its normal. I'm not sure why these stores are even up here. Seriously now, I have given this place a few good chances. We did find some decent bed sheet sets which for some odd reason are hard to find in this town. The quality of the clothing at Kohl's is certainly not up to par however. I am not interested in shopping a store that is inconsistent. Reviewers such as Nathan have had good results while Sara- recently, was given very poor customer service. As someone who has worked in the retail business for almost 40 years, I have learned to think like an owner, take care of the customer thereby promoting a return visit. I like the Kohl's store here. It's laid out nicely, and usually well stocked. The prices are good, and the clearance prices are fantastic! The staff is always helpful, but could use some extra attendants in the ladies fitting rooms, as they are usually kind of trashed. Kohls has a very nice selection of women and men's clothing. It kind of reminds me of a Macy's on a much smaller scale. Their prices are a bit up there but sometimes you find amazing clearance deals throughout the holidays. There is something for everyone and it's a great place to shop if you're looking to buy gifts for someone while on a time crunch. We've bought some winter clothing in the past and it has been wonderful. They also give you the ability to create a gift registry for weddings and such. read more

We tried to return something with a receipt, were told we would not get the price that was paid, were told we had to exchange for the same item, then told that we had to exchange for one item of the same price. Then were told we could use the money (still not what we paid for it) for multiple items. This place is a joke. The only saving grace was the manager named Scott. I'm a former employee and Kohl's is the absolute worst place to work. Managers are so beyond mean, they take breaks without clocking out. They sit in the office all day on their phones. They spread rumors about other employees. I heard from another former employee that they made a bet that she would get pregnant. She was a minor. One of the previous managers used fake social security numbers to sign up for charge cards to meet the "credit goal". The supervisor, Chad, does not care about the well-being of his employees. He only cares about how many people sign up for charge cards. Employees are treated horribly. You're pressured into signing people up for charge cards and when there's a corporate store walk through, everything goes downhill. The managers are running the employees like dogs and are always on your butt about getting every little thing perfect while standing around and watching. One of the previous managers got a piercing in a private area and was showing other employees even if they didn't want to see. Including minors. The managers are always on their phones, facebook or whatever, but any time an employee was caught with a phone, they got in BIG trouble. One of the managers would make you put your phone up in a locker and follow you to make sure you put it away. Kohl's is such a toxic work environment and you do not get payed enough for what you have to put up with. The managers tell you one thing and do the absolute opposite of what they tell you NOT to do. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to work there ever again. The managers and other rude employees make other employees cry and feel degraded. You can shoplift to your hearts content given there's no security other than the pathetic couple of people there are for Loss Prevention that rarely do anything about shoplifters. 0/10 recommend Kohl's. Do not give your money to these people. They have no sympathy or humanity. These people are only in it for the money. I wish I could put 0 stars. The store is always a mess. Also heard that an employee had Covid and they didn't shut the store down to clean. Horrible. read more

I went into A Kohl's Store down in Reno, Nevada a couple of years ago, and found that I was not all that impressed then. It was like what Mervin's was, but with higher prices, and less quality merchandise. I guess I was wrong. Kohl's in Alaska, just recently opened, and I was somewhat impressed by the newer quality items that they have. It isn't the Ritz, and it isn't the "Fashion King, but we don't think like that up here. We look for good buys, and good items that will match our ever changing weather, and small household items that you can label "neat". They have them. I am not sure I will be a regular customer, J.C. Penny's still has the best underwear, and some cool stuff, but for a "New Kid" on the block, it is not half bad.... read more

I like that I can shop for the whole family here. There is a great selection of clothes, accessories and home goods. The prices are great and I love the clearence sections. I wish the Intimates section had more variety. I often can't find what I'm looking for in this section or its always sold out. I love the sales and will definately shop here again. Usually we like coming here for the nice selection of clothes and the staff is always cheerful. Our experience today sucked! First we went to the bathroom, dirty. went to the baby section, clothes just tossed places. Then i had to go to the big & tall section for my husband., not much of a selection at all empty racks and once again the clothes where thrown everywhere. It seems like once I go to this place I have to keep going back. They give me Kohl's cash and well, its basically money, so I have to drive out there again and buy more stuff. And then I get more Kohl's cash so its basically just a vicious cycle. This time I was just going to use my Kohl's cash and not spend any more but the jeans were on sale for $27.99 and of course I saw some cute shirts for $13 and... and... there's some new long underwear that are super cool and winter is coming so you know that's a necessary purchase. THE KOHLS ANCHORAGE MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE. THEY ARE UNFAIR TO THEIR EMPLOYEES! AT TIMES, I HAVE SEEN THEM BE VERY RUDE TO CUSTOMERS AND NOT FOLLOW THE "YES WE CAN" POLICY, IT'S SAD. SO HERE'S MY STORY. HEAR ME OUT. I have been employed by KOHLS In Anchorage, AK since Dec 2013 from being a Cashier to a Beauty Advisor. On a Sunday, June 1st, 2014 there was an incident where a Diamond ring was stolen and switched out and at that time there was a Jewelry associate assisting the thieves. I on the other hand was behind the Jewelry counter since Beauty and Jewelry share registers, I was at the registers doing my daily duties and a customer had come up and asked me If I could change the battery in her watch. I had told her, Yes and that I would get someone to do it for her. So, I turn over and tell the Jewelry associate that she has a customer waiting to get her watch looked at. She comes to grab the watch and for a split second, she left the customers with the Diamonds unattended, and not just 1 diamond but she let them look at 3 at a time. As she grabbed the watch, she tells me to go supervise them. But the switch had already been made according to the LP. So after all that suspicion through the cameras, the LP comes through the Jewelry department and shoves all the Diamonds back into the case. The customers were baffled and had no idea what was going on. But I sensed that there was something fishy going on so I asked the Customers if they would like do a credit application and while LP is watching, they applied for the app, got denied and left. LP had asked me if they bought anything and I said no, but I got their names. So that helped them get a better clue. So, LP checks the case that the diamonds were in and takes the diamond tester machine to the 3 diamonds they were looking and 1 of them happened to be fake so that's when he confirmed that it was switched out. He then calls APD and so on. At that time, my store manager comes yelling at me and telling me I shouldn't have taken out so many diamonds at a time and that I am not supposed to be helping jewelry and of course this is humiliating because there are other customers around looking and watching. And me remember I am at work and he is my manager, I just went back to doing what I was doing (my job). So then Tues, June 3rd 2014 hits and I come for my opening shift, I get called into the office and the store manager tells me I am terminated for insubordination because a week ago, He (Chad Hoene) had spoken to me and my Beauty coworkers about our numbers being down and that we should try harder in selling and to keep away from the Jewelry associates and don't involve ourselves with them because it's causing distraction to our sales. Now, had the Diamond not been stolen I probably wouldn't have got fired. It's pathetic that he used the excuse of "insubordination" for my termination. When he told us to keep away from Jewelry associates and not to help them, was I supposed to ignore that woman who came up to me for assistance with her watch? I was trained to help any and every customer. I am very aware of the "yes we can" policy and I was not going to turn down the customer because if I did, and for an example: that customer filed a complaint on me for not assisting her, I probably would have got fired because it's always customers first. And I just don't understand because when the jewelry department is short of people or they need to take breaks and lunches, we have always been ordered by the managers and store manager himself to give them their breaks, and that means while they're away, I am showing jewelry and ringing out their customers. Had not I been in the jewelry department, the Diamonds were bound to get stolen because there were 3 out there at a time and the Jewelry associates are trained to know that you can only show 1 diamond at a time. The jewelry associate had informed me after the incident, that those thieves had came in the night before to look at the same case and diamonds. For all we know, the associate probably was showing them more than 1 diamond at a time and that's probably why they felt comfortable coming back again. I just don't think that it was fair for them to terminate me at all and since they did terminate me, why didn't they terminate her? I didn't take the merchandise out of the cases. I didn't touch any of the merchandise. I was just present and I get terminated? It's ridiculous. I honestly think that the Chad Hoene (store manager) was taking it personally because I've always had a feeling that he just didn't like the beauty associates. I mean, his reason of terminating me is not even reasonable. At this point, I am now going through hardships because I am unemployed and have bills to pay. It doesn't make any sense at all. There are many KOHLS employees that are aware of the incident and my situation and are willing to stand for me and with me so we can get things right. read more

This store lacks good customer service skills. Even after asking for a manager, Michael was totally arrogant. Kohls... You have lost a loyal customer because of the way the employees treat their patrons. MVP??? Certainly was not treated like an MVP today.
