Manager was extremely rude to me when I came in to pick up an order. He interrogated me and asked why I didn't tell the staff I wouldn't pick up sooner. As a person with extreme anxiety and fear of confrontation, he nearly brought me to tears. In the end, I was able to get my order but it'll be the last time I shop at this location. read more

This is my go to Kohl's. It's pretty clean and they often have my size shortie, LOL! The staff are nice and they ask me if I need anything. The Customer Service counter is pretty organized too and they are quick in exchanging and returning as they don't give you a hard time if you don't have a receipt. They'll just give you a Kohl's gift card, I'll just give this back to you anyway, ooo look at the wide selections on the sale racks LOL! They have a pretty good selection here and the discounted racks are replenished and mega discount especially if you have a Khol's card on top of their discount cards that you get in the mail or online that you can pull up on your cell phone if you have internet access! It's off of the main road and there's plenty of parking. It's in a strip mall but not too close to the busier area of the mall..cause parking is CRAZY! read more

I have a weird relationship with Kohl's. I love finding great deals in the store or online. However, trying to find something in the store drives me crazy. I love Kohl's - mostly for their insane discounts. I go to Kohl's for clothes, shoes, accessories, picture frames, linens, gifts and all kinds of kitchen stuff. This is the only retailer that managed to get me to obtain a department store credit card. It is so worth it! The only thing I seem to lose out on is when you get coupons that require you to return back to the store by a certain date. I almost never return in time...or I don't have the coupon with me. :( Anyway, it's still worth it. I also love, love, love the fact that they seem to sell a lot of Dr. Seuss items. I have to always be on the lookout, though, since these items are usually sold for a limited time. Kohl's is also a fantastic place to buy Hallmark ornaments. It's the best place to get them on sale. I'm always looking for Dr. Seuss and Looney Tunes ornaments and they almost always have them available. There was only one time I had to purchase the display ornament. Display items are not my first choice, but I didn't have other options. I want to give credit to a wonderful store representative who helped me locate the original box for the ornament. Her name is Namsom and she works in the Elmhurst or Downers Grove location. She dug around the back until she found the box and never made it seem like an inconvenience. The box doesn't seem like a big deal, but it was to me since this ornament was a gift and it was for someone who collected these Hallmark ornaments. read more

They very nice and helpful and they made me feel like they genuinely wanted to help you. And they have a good price for their clothing and their clothes are of good quality. This is a decent Kohl's. My biggest complaint about my local Kohl's is that the size of the clothing article is always different from what's listed on the hanger. This store was no different. I would pick something up in my size--- or so the hanger said--- only to find out it wasn't my size at all. GAHHHH!!!! Frustrating. I only came to this location because I have a couple pair of J.Lo pants that I wear almost every single day in blue and black and I somehow lost both pairs (because I have too many clothes.) They didn't have the ones I wanted but I found a similar pair that I ended up buying. The store wasn't overly clean. In fact, it was pretty disorganized, however I saw a few people in the women's section trying to tidy it up. The young guy at checkout was pretty friendly too. read more

The first rule of Kohl's: never buy anything at "full price." I'm pretty sure that they jack the prices up on the regular-price items to make the sales seem that much more impressive. If you can keep that in mind, you can find some great stuff. Because between the clearance racks and the sales, half to 75% of the store is always on sale. Seriously. Their clothes are generally fashionable, fun, and will last a few years at least -- no, these aren't lifetime investment clothes for the most part but that's why you buy on sale... This particular store is pretty well organized, and they remodeled a year or two ago and added some nice touches -- new dressing rooms with more space, better mirrors and more hooks. (This is important when you're lugging lots of stuff around!) Also, the staff is generally friendly, unobtrusive, and helpful when you need it. Pro tip number two: If you come in one day and can't find what you want on sale, wait a week or so and try again. The inventory gets turned over a decent amount and stuff moves through the clearance racks pretty steadily. On a recent weekend, I had a gift card from Christmas that was still unused -- see previous rule -- and I decided to try again. I was aiming for some pants for work and maybe a top or two. Score! Two pairs of pants, a cute Daisy Fuentes cardigan and a long-sleeved tee on the clearance rack for a mere $3.20. All of it marked 60 to 80% off. read more

I love shopping at Kohls whether online or in their store. Long story short, I went to make a return and I couldn't be more dissatisfied. I have worked retail as well and I know you never mistreat a guest, especially not in front of them. If you're going to say something rude or act rude towards them you may want to take your call in the back versus right in front of the guest and talk rudely about them as if they didn't exist. I'm a most valued customer as well. I will never shop at this store again which is too bad since it's the closest location to my home since I moved. I could tell as soon as I stepped up she was having a bad day or needed a break. I know also that no matter what you don't disrespect your guests. I have to share my experience with Kohl's this evening in Elmhurst. I always have great experiences there so I am shocked by the way i was treated tonight. I was asking a question to a young man (Mike) at the customer service counter and I must not have been explaining myself clearly when I was asking the questions so I said "never mind that's ok just forget it". As he handed me my receipt he said "and thanks for the attitude". I replied back with "excuse me?" and he gave me the same answer and then I said "wow aren't you suppose to be customer service?" Then he replied back with "whatever" and rolled his eyes at me. I immediately went to the management which handle the situation which I am grateful for. I understand that everyone has bad days and makes mistakes but this was crazy rude and so disrespectful!! read more

So the only reason this got a 2 star was because the check out cashier was very nice and I got great deals on the kids (boys) clearance rack for next year. Not many sales for girls. My biggest problem was exchanging clothes my son got for his birthday. I had a gift receipt and thankfully the original receipt was left in the bag. The person at the return counter rang all the clothes I had at mark down prices about $36; however, the original receipt said my guest paid $48. I feel this is dishonest to their customers. A gift receipt should reflect the original paid prices. For anyone considering purchasing a gift here I'd consider giving the original receipt. read more

For the record, if you pay full price for anything at Kohl's, you are doing it wrong. Keep that in mind. This is a fairly tidy and organized store and even when it's busy, it's not that bad. There are normally enough cashiers, the fitting rooms are kept cleared out, and the stock level seems appropriate. The folks working there are helpful enough when help is needed, though sometimes the cashiers seem to be a little disinterested. I am a little annoyed that they don't carry bras in my size in the store (I spent an hour tonight looking) but most places don't so I guess I shouldn't be too cranky about that. My main issue is the women's restroom. It's kind of gross. No, it's gross. It took 4 tries before I found a stall that was not filthy. Yuck. They definitely need to clean the bathrooms in this location far more frequently from what I saw this evening. Also most of the soap dispensers were empty - hopefully people were just busy washing their hands all day. Double yuck. Anyway, so I think I will continue to shop here, just not for bras and I definitely won't ever use the bathroom again. read more

It took us 30 minutes to determine what we wanted to use the coupon on. Shoes for wifey. Kitchen towels for "us". A bathroom candle for "us".............or maybe because of me? Ha! Like a "big sucker," (and just as is the goal of Kohl's Sales & Marketing strategy), I went to Kohl's today to try to spend my $5 Yes 2 You monthly "Reward." Not wanting to spend too much more, if anything more, than $5 "Reward," I picked up, from CLEARANCE shelf, a 5x7 photo frame made of very BREAKABLE RESIN & ENAMEL (see attached 2 pics). Not "in love with it" though as kind of strange style that I didn't think would go with many, or any, decors are borders are a bit wavy rather than having classic straight lines. But thought I could use it or give it away & wanted to spend the $5 Yes 2 You Rewards rather than lose a "measly" $5-SILLY ME. As there was a black marker mark intentionally drawn through UPC bar code, I went to Customer Service Desk for price check as kiosk could not identify price either. OMG-did not realize till very nice Customer Service/Return Rep gave me back frame & I noticed that the original price on frame was a (WHOPPING) price of $59.99 on this somewhat strange looking 5 inch x7 inch frame. Most Kohl's shoppers know, as I do, that Kohl's generally "way" overprices their items & that ONLY AFTER reductions & coupons, price is generally "Fair Market Value"-but $59.99 original price for ONE 5x7 frame was RIDICULOUS & NO DOUBT, wrong. [in fact, Kohl's was sued for their "false" high prices, as I believe another retailer was.] Accordingly, I told very nice "return" person it just HAD to be part of a set of frames (to justify $59.99 price) & to check with manager. Even $59.99 for a set of frames is kind of crazy except in the "world of Kohl's pricing." Manager never came up front but told her to mark at $17.99 (70% off I assume) as clearance items were being sold that day. Nice return person made new sticker & put over old sticker as old sticker was "triple zeroed out" (apparently a Kohl's internal code) as she mentioned to manager on phone & whose "zeroes" I could see on old/original price tag. Manager was hiding somewhere, perhaps in their office in employee area behind Service Desk no more than 25 feet away. However, there WAS a long-time HR/admin manager, Jackie, who was also working behind return desk doing returns who COULD have intervened as she was 2 feet away & heard/saw entire price inquiry incidence. However, Jackie remained absolutely silent-did not say a word - even though she knows me as along time customer & more! I say this as I have personally known this woman for at least 6 years & she has never been very helpful on ANY level-never smiles, never appears pleasant - acts just like a unhappy person who doesn't like her job, people OR employees that she manages as HR Manager! What a JOKE (outrageous/phony price & lack of managerial involvement/concern). BTW-I have held/used a Kohl's charge for 20 years, have MVC ("Most Valued Customer" status based on spending) - not that this matters to this store-SOME managers, that is. Do SOME managers @ this store think customers are STUPID - don't know what a reasonable Fair Market Price is (at Kohl's or elsewhere) or do SOME managers just not care if customers feel Kohl's-specifically, this store, is a good place to shop or NOT!!! Obviously, yes to both. And, obviously, I left the strange looking overpriced "orphan" frame (obviously part of a set at least originally) & did not buy-left the store!! Next time I get a $5 Yes 2 You Rewards, I will either throw it in the garbage or go to another Kohl's to spend - not worth my gas money to bother to use-especially after a ridiculous "price check" inquiry incidence as I experienced today at Elmhurst store. read more

I came in to the store since I got for my birthday a carry on luggage but I did not get a gift receipt for it so I came in and asked the front desk if I can exchange for a different color. The guy in front said yes but they would credit me a percentage of the value so about 72 dollars. I said ok so I came back to the front and since I didn't have a receipt he told me to go to customer service, once there the guy told me he would credit me 41 dollars for it. And the actual price was over 130 but since it was a color that was not in the showroom they said it was cheaper. So they did credit me for the 72 and I paid the difference to get the one I liked. They were both friendly and helpful but their system has to be better since they both did not agree to the amount. I will give them a try another time but I will pay with a credit card just in case I have to return my items. And as a gift please get a gift receipt if you receive an item. read more

My previous review is below, but recently there were problems with this Kohl's location. I ordered a bday present for my gf online. By the time it shipped, it was too late to fix before her bday. Whatever, Kohl's usually doesn't screw up. So I called customer service, and they said I could take it into store to return wrong item, and reorder. Ok, fine. I went into this location, and Nicole did the return. Then I was told I had to order online. "You can't do that here?". "No" she says...ok. So I called customer service. They said they could have done it in store. Great. They also said there could be no discount on the item, as it was "excluded". Even better. Employees make the store, and Nicole is one that will make customers very unhappy. Here is my previous review: Kohl's has been one of the places that I have done business with throughout the years who has never let me down. The prices are good, a decent variety products, helpful associates, billing is always accurate and easy. This store also gets high marks for their helpful jewelry dept. associates. They are awesome, though I do not remeber name of particular associates. (Sorry!) At any rate, they must treat their employees fairly well too, as they are usually happy and helpful. read more

I really want to get a credit card from here for the extra discounts you get in the mail, but I know I will find myself in more debt. We've probably all heard the rule "Buy swimsuits and shorts in the winter, when it's out of season, so that it's cheaper." Honey, you don't have to wait til winter. That shiz is on sale right freaking now. Since the weather until this point had been unseasonably comfortable, I haven't had the need to get any new shorts. Oh but in true Chicago fashion, here comes the heat wave. Time to get some shorts. I checked out Target earlier in the week, but couldn't find anything besides booty shorts or mom shorts. Kohl's was my next and final stop it turned out. They also have booty shorts to fill that skanky need, but they also have regular length shorts and some cute ones at that. I grabbed a bunch and tried them on. Perfecto! The dressing rooms are pretty nice, by the way. I like the hardwood (probably vinyl) look and feel. Much cleaner than the terrible carpet at other department stores. Gross. I know it's crazy chaotic during the weekend or on holidays, but going during the week is a good time to shop. I put the stuff that didn't fit on a rack of nopes, and the girl working the floor promptly put it back. That's really good because there may be an item you wanted but don't think they have because the item is sitting all lonely in the reject bin. Now it's back on the rack for the taking! Oh and that super sale stuff I talked about earlier? Yeah the shorts were $12 each! I also saw a sign for swimwear that said "end of season" sale. Really? Mid-July is end of summer? Who knew? But hell, I'll take full advantage of that. The cashier was really awesome too. Like other Kohls cashiers I've encountered, when I say that I forgot my coupon at home (which is true because I always forget them), they give me the discount or let me do one of those scratch offs. 30% off for the win! The lady behind me claimed she also had a 30% off at home (yeah right) and the cashier told her she could do the scratch off too. "Well, I don't want this if I can't get 30% off." I looked at the cashier and felt her pain, being a former cashier myself. That, "Give me a break, lady. But whatever, I want to get rid of this line so I'll give you what you want" thought went through her head, and mine, and she gave the lady the 30% without any scratch off or coupon. Customer service pro. My fiance complains about Kohl's style sometimes on the men's side. He says the shirts are either dad or skater. He's got a point so most of his shirts come from Target. He did find a couple of shorts and pants that were to his liking, though, so there's reason for him to come back. As for me, I love Kohls. It's a must stop when looking for anything you might need. A few weeks ago, I dashed in here when I was desperate for a clutch for a wedding and guess what? I found it. Keep up the good work, Kohls. read more

I go to this Kohls since it is closest to my house. But i have been disappointed always. Yesterday i was there and noticed one of the items i had purchased less than week back had a price drop. I went to the customer service associate asking her for price adjustment. After checking options, she said i had applied for coupon and infact the price i paid was lower ( by few cents) than the current price. I asked her but the coupon applied for was on original price which is 4$ higher and can she not honor that. She was very rude and her response and told me the only way she can do price adjustment is i "return" the merchandise and purchase the new one. Of course she knew i was not carrying one. Also i had a merchandise which i wished to purchase but had no price tag. i requested for price and she told me what the price was. I was surprised by the price because i had picked up the item from clearance rack. I just expressed what i saw and ofcourse did not intend for her to change the price for me. But my overall experience just speaking with her was very uncomfortable. She did not even look into the eyes and speak and was very "curt" in responding to me. Third- i had few more items which i wanted to purchase, i asked her since im here , can i ring them here? while i understand that check out is a separate counter i also expect a little courtesy while speaking with me. Again, without even looking into the eyes of the customer ( me) , she said NO not here. The same thing if she would have said nicely, its taken well. I have visited many Kohls in the past and i have not had such an unpleasant experience dealing with customer service. I have had a similar not so "customer friendly" experience with the same store , same associate and hence reporting here. I do not expect a "Yes" to all my questions but i do expect to be dealt with a little courtesy, that's all ! read more

Consistence outstanding customer service. We had a return on one weekend closely tethered to Christmas. The line move quickly and the customer service agent treated the transaction flawlessly. So, since thst transaction went off without a glitch, we thought to try to purchase my boyfriend a dress outfit for a dinner dance (at the last minute) He is an impossible to fit. This store is ADA illegal due to the fact that it is NOT wheelchair accessible! I got stuck everywhere and my ankles were all cut up and bloody from it! Horrible management! Spoke to a male manager, Sean/Shawn who wouldn't honor the price advertised so my EVEN exchange ended up costing more money! (Literally same pair of men's pants, just a different size with no receipt). Even walked to the department to show him where I saw the price, he said "someone must have moved the sign because that doesn't belong there." When I pointed out that the sign specifically described my exact item on that exact spot on the shelf, he shook his head and said sorry, he can't help me. I proceeded to ask if there was a coupon available to help balance the exchange price, he said no. It's KOHL'S!!! Since when is there no coupon to offer? Clearly I just wanted to exchange a pair of pants for the correct size. He then decided it would be a good idea to raise his voice as I walked away dissatisfied with his explanation, saying that if I would "just be quiet and listen to him" that maybe he could ring in a different pair and it would come up even. By this time, I felt like I was arguing with a 5 year old who lacked reasoning and being completely disrespected for no reason. The situation turned juvenile in a split second. I'm a pretty laid back person who doesn't even leave reviews unless they're praising someone for their outstanding service, but this I felt needed to be documented. There is no reason to yell after a customer and order them to stop talking. I was no longer willing to use my time to hear what he would "try" to do for me so I walked away, went back to customer service, and paid the $10 difference for the same pair of pants. I love to shop and do it often and have NEVER experienced such lack of customer service and disrespect. Very disappointing. If I could give zero stars, I would. Very unpleasant experience with an Elmhurst Kohl's associate. While in the shoe department, I made the mistake of asking her a question. This Kohl's employee lit me up because she was busy and didn't want to be bothered listening to my question, let alone helping me. Her tone was belligerent, rude, and aggressive. I asked her to call the manager and she physically blocked me from speaking to the manager by stepping in front of me and telling me that "you don't get to talk". She appears to be over-employed and probably should not come in contact with customers. As we all know, retailers compete for every customer and this associate at Kohl's in Elmhurst appears to be doing her best to send customers elsewhere. The store manager was great and took care of my question and mentioned that the associate had been working lots of hours. Hmmm... perhaps she'd be more more effective at home than in the shoe department. When I made my purchase, I was handed a receipt with a survey request. The survey has been completed with all the ugly details and I expect to hear from Kohl's customer service regarding this woman. She is a detriment to an otherwise stellar Kohl's team. My advice: Don't give your hard earned money to a company that employs nasty people. read more
