Horrible customer service. I walked into the Sephora section and there were ZERO employees. I saw a passing employee and walked over to ask a question. I said "Excuse me" about 5 times and the employee completely ignored me and began to walk even faster into an employee only room. Employees at a place like this should be willing to help their customers and not just flat out ignore them. This is terrible customer service and highly disrespectful. Kohl's and their legendary lack of customer service strikes again. We ordered an item on sale online and the wrong item was delivered. The invoice shows the correct order, but the wrong product is in the package. We attempt to bring the errant item to our local store for an exchange and are told we need to re-purchase the item - at FULL price - and return the wrong one for credit when we receive the new one. Where do we get the $$ for the new one until we receive credit for the wrong one? The "help" at the store says they are not responsible for online mistakes. Then who is?! What a joke of customer service. This has nothing to do with a pandemic. This is Kohl's having no idea what "service" means. Went to Kohl's to return an item to Amazon and I was given a 25 off coupon to use in Kohl's so I decided to shop in the store found a Nike T-shirt then i looked on the coupon to see the exclusions and there was nothing about Nike so I went and stood in line at the register and when I got to be my turn, they told me they couldn't give me the discount anything else but Nike that's what the answer was. One would think a major company like Nike would be under exclusions so that you could see it also, the answer I was given is not true. There are a lot of exclusions on the coupon Kohls needs to do better to communicate what's excluded on the coupons handed out in the store. Very disappointed. I have lived here and gone to this store for over 12 years. Never had a problem, never met an employee who was rude, products usually in stock as compared to other stores these days, checkout is fast, Amazon returns is fast and very convenient. I guess the only people who leave reviews are those who are angry for one reason or another. Not one to leave reviews but went to go return an amazon package. The line was confusing wasn't sure If I was supposed to wait behind everyone or just go straight to the amazon desk. Lea the lady at the desk was so rude and disrespectful to me. It was my first time bringing my amazon package there to return she snapped at me when I didn't have my barcode to scan ready will never go back into this store. Before I came into the store I searched for which non-slip work shoes I could find in this specific store and found a pair to buy. I arrived at the store and the shoe department looked like a bomb went off. I was unable to walk through the aisles because there were so many open boxes on the ground. The shoe I came for were nowhere to be found. I asked 3 associates and no one knew where anything was. They called someone that works in the shoe department to come help me. There were 6 other people looking for help with shoes. I waited for 15 minutes without one glimpse of any employee from the shoe department. I left and bought my shoes elsewhere. Went in to grab one quick item but as usual ended up with several, all was great until I got to the cashier. She was young and made it very clear she didn't want to be there. Worst attitude about everything, very snotty and rude. I approached when it was my turn and walked up and said Hi, very cheerily. No response. So I moved down by the credit card machine and nicely told her I had a coupon on my phone. Her response was an eye roll. I just had to go do an Amazon return item and your sign for that is a bit confusing. It makes you look like you are cutting the return lines. There was only one other person in line but one of the workers started yelling at us that we were in the wrong lines. She basically insinuated that I was stupid for not following the signs. Kohl's department stores vs Kohls online: The 1 star rating applies more to the online store than most of the bricks & mortar. I'll explain: The merchandise in the stores is a slightly better quality for the same vendor than the online, which in my opinion has become quite cheaply made, poor fabrics, not standing up to wear or washing or even handling! One may think they've struck a bargain because Kohl's prices are inflated to allow for the constant "sales & discounts"...try Carter's, Dollie & Me, etc. for instance. Quality sometimes inferior to Walmart! I used to think they gave Marshall Field's home brand clothing a run for their money. Those days are long ago. Couldn't get out to buy dolls, women's clothing 11//15. For 6 items I was charged over $400..the rep said she'd "fix" the discount I'd not received. I'm still waiting while Kohl's is collecting the interest on those Kohl's charged items. Four - 4- phone calls with 30 minute wait times, told me they'd put in an order for pick-up...the RETURN label had been torn off the invoice that was to make for "Easy Return". Even in emails with the customer service, I was told: "We never use "return labels" where it's clearly stated on the online "Easy Returns" statements. I'm at my wit's end. The Middle Eastern gentleman in Customer Service told me today."....just have someone put the big box in your car and please return it to one of our stores." Not possible; but, he's been told to fend off the exasperated customers, I'm sure. They are in money troubles, and it's showing. Last night saw on Blomberg News (the TV Finance channel) that the stock was down over 30% for the 3rd quarter of 2012! Something's wrong. The customer service is atrocious, and the online merchandise matches it...don't waste your time. Big disappointment because I'd been an active shopper and fan of Kohl's for well over a decade. The way they treat loyal hard working employees is disgusting! He checks the schedule every Monday, been doing it for 10 years.....new manager and all of a sudden he is terminated because he missed 2 shifts..... So we go in the find out what happened and she refuses to let me in the room with them, tells him we post the schedule Friday sorry too bad.... He literally got an award for perfect attendance last year..... and if a 70 something year old man doesn't show up for a shift a humman would call to see if he was ok! What is wrong with this world!!!They didn't have him on for almost a month after the holidays and then they put him on the schedule for 2 days in a row, with 2 days notice and dont even call when he doesn't show and don't bother tell him that he was terminated until he calls to see when they were going to have him back on the schedule! I use to be THE biggest Kohl's fan!!! Always had great selections for the whole family, never had issues finding sizes, was always convenient getting things shipped to the house. The changes in the Kohl's cash have been so incredibly inconsistent. First they were very strict about using expired Kohls cash, once expired you can no longer use it. then the cashier told me when I was checking out, I left the store frustrated. Now I was just told as long as you use it within 2 weeks it will still be valid. WTH Kohl's!!!! So frustrating and now I have all this expired Kohl's cash and because the communication is so inconsistent from the cashier to the manager to customer service to people on the phone I've missed out. And it looks like again they changed the policy in regards to returning items if you used Kohl's cash to purchase. They take the full amount of Kohl's cash out when you return one thing. Just as an example- if I spent $150 on three items that were $50 each to earn $30 of Kohl's cash and and needed to return one of the items that was only $50 ..you think that I would only have $10 taken off because I use the Kohl's cash ...now I just had the entire $30 taken out of one item... why wouldn't they use a percentage of the total from the amount earned versus screwing the customer. Just got a five dollar off coupon in the mail as well as a 15% off your purchase. Walked in and got socks waited in line while there were six people in line ahead of me the cashier said nope sorry you can't use this coupon on this item. Went back to get a body lotion Waited in line 5 people in line ahead of me the lady said no can't used it on lotion as well ,I see candy bars I just said give me the candy bar and I'm leaving the store she said no not going to be able to used the coupons as well.I go back to grab some underwear and wait some more in line for the 3 rd time and ask can you redeem those coupons she said yes .She scanned the $5 coupon and said you used this coupon already.No I didn't the lady scanned it and told me no.Ladys at register are rude and just mean.Even if they send me a $100 coupon in the mail never walking in to this store.Train your people and have respect to your customers.This was the most offal experience I ever had in my life.Calling the head Kohl's to tell them about my experience now. read more

I always find something that I want at this store. The service is great, and so are the sales! When I buy online and am not satisfied with an item, this store always takes things back, hassle free. My only problem is when I earn Kohl's cash, I end up spending more than what I earned! You can also find items online that are only sold online. I shopped at this store for over 10 years, and was never disappointed, except for a few times when I could not find someone to help in a department. Lastly, when it is a huge shopping day, like black Friday, they are very organized and lines move fairly quickly. I didn't give 5 stars, because sometimes you just can't find help on the floor, in a department. read more

Early this week, I went to Kohl's store number 112 at Hawthorn, Vernon Hills, IL to return a diamond earring I received as a gift from my husband. We lost the receipt and I was concerned that I couldn't return the gift. We used the Kohl's credit number so the Kohl's employee could run the number through the computer by scanning the barcode to check the price. The box, price tag and the barcode clearly identified it was bought at Kohl, as well as they were able to find a similar diamond earring in the store, but mine had a different barcode number. Long story short, three amazing employees at the store (no. 112 at Hawthorn, Vernon Hills, IL) went beyond my expectations to go out of their way cheerfully to analyze and solve my return problem. Last week I went shopping at the Lake Zurich Kohl's, store #0420. I was trying on clothing in the women's dressing room. I came out of my room and into the main dressing room area, headed to the full-length mirror. When I looked in the mirror I saw a male employee standing behind me, looking at me. Needless to say, it scared me half to death. I was startled, then said to him, "I'm sorry, you scared me. Normally you don't see a man in a woman's dressing room". Instead of apologizing, he rudely stated, "Well, I work here, so...". I then left the dressing area and went straight to the cashier and she called a manager over. When the manager came out and I told her what happened she apologized, but then used the excuse, "Well, we're very short-handed today". While she was telling me this, two female employees were about 20 feet away, talking to each other and putting clothes away. It was obvious there were female employees present that could have just as easily done the same job this young man was doing. I emailed customer service that day and was told I would recieve and email in 24 hours. It has now been 1 week and have yet to hear anything. Not only will I never shop at the Lake Zurich location, I will never shop at Kohl's again PERIOD. There are other stores that have better prices, better quality and better customer service. read more
