I had a great experience at Costco this past weekend! Yes, it was definitely busy (as expected on a weekend), but everything was still incredibly well-organized. Even with the crowds, it was still a good experience. What really stood out to me was how helpful and friendly the employees did a great job at managing checkout lines, which at times can be a nightmare. This was not my usual Costco so it was nice to see organization. The checkout process was also surprisingly quick. The lines looked long at first, but they moved fast thanks to the team working together and staying organized. It made a huge difference. The workers scanned everything in advance so at the checkout you just scanned your card and paid. This was a first for me. Of course, Costco never disappoints when it comes to value. I was able to stock up on essentials, find some great deals, and even discover a few new items I hadn't tried before. The food court as my kids say "slaps". Fresh pizza, friendly faces, great prices can't beat Costco! read more

Bad service for four new tire replacement. I got new tires from Costco today I told them I will be waiting inside the Costco until it's done and they can call my number. When my car was done, the person called me and when I asked whether I I need to see somebody inside Costco or outside Costco tire center. She clearly responded to see one of them outside tire center glass door and knock there. When I went out there with my sopping cart and I had to wait 5min in cold wind for someone to come and open the door to hear that no you have to go in. No you have been notified wrong. I went back in and took my cart keys and paper work. Reported what happened. I left costco just to find out that my tire air pressure is low. When checked it was less than 30in all four tires, and required air pressure is 45 and front and 48 for rear- i knocked on the door, no one looked at me. I was in hurry- stopped at air pressure station and filled up air in all four tires myself. I am amazed that they put in new tires to let the person go on road driving at alarming air pressure so they can have an incident and in that case costco tech will not to be blamed. i am glad i acted sooner. But amazed by bad service. read more

After eating a late lunch at home, we decided to go to Costco for a few items, it was packed. There were literally 3 shopping carts left. We did get one of the three. I took a gander at the checkout lines and they were really really long. I thought to myself, "Did we make a mistake?" - however, I figured, let's just take our time. I picked up some protein bars for breakfast and workouts. And some Blue Diamond Almonds with Michigan Cherries. We picked up some Arnold Palmer beverages. I tried the almonds and the cherries and they were really good. There is no salt added. I'd buy these again for sure. Both protein bars and almonds were pretty good value. After we got all our items, we headed towards the checkout line and it was short, really short. We checked out in about minutes. I think it was beneficial that we went after eating lunch as I stayed away from the samples and I didn't buy anything off the list. read more

The store seems organized and very chill despite being the weekend, and it was easy to get gas (no wait) as well as close parking. The selection was legit, and I even found more Gerry Skorts on sale, so I was able to get the beige pink color to add to my collection. I usually buy from costco, food and the like, they are basically a bulk grocery store. Recently bought an electronic inflator from them. It dies, and they refuse a return or exchange. The entire product reviews on the costco.com website are filled with these kind of complaints. Word to the wise, stick to food at costco, their electronics policy for returns is a joke. I left it at the counter and they looked at me confused, like what, I want some broken item you sold me? You took my money, might as well take your broken merchandise back as well. read more

This Lake Zurich Costco location is a hidden gem. Coming from the Schaumburg location that is crazy busy 24/7 every day of the week. We were shocked that this location is so manageable in comparison! Don't get me wrong, it gets busy at days/times you'd expect higher demand like on weekends. However even on the weekends the lines are not crazy and the gas station lines are barely 2-3 cars deep, which is so great compared to the Schaumburg location gas station that is generally 5-6 cars in every line. The customer service is generally good at this location, up to par with what you'd expect from Costco. This is our favorite Costco location based on the ease of shopping here, shorter check out lines, and it's normally fully stocked. read more

I came in for service on my tires since my car kept triggering check pressure system alert. I had already went to Toyota and other mechanic before coming here. I spoke to a manager who stated they will fill/rotate my tires. So I made a appointment and came in on 12/26/2025. To get discrimination by JEREMEY in tire center @4:30ish pm who is like he wants to sell me higher membership to do something what Costco manager stated over the phone. If that is how they started doing business I will get it done than cancel my membership. The next day...i have only been a member since 2016 and have gold star status. Which he could see in the system. I'm like I spoke to a manager and he is like still being rude and wanted extra commission for selling upgraded membership but when I got angry and escalated my tone he right away said he will do it cause at that point there was a manager and few customers behind me who started talking what's going on. Means does everyone have to go thru all the hurdles with Costco tires or it's this location or it's Jeremy at this location. I also called Costco in Kenosha where I spoke to a manager at he stated I should talk to the manager of this issue keeps happening. And top if I bought my tires here. And I have came here in the past and had this resolved several times in the past. And all those times every car mechanic was polite. I wish I had known of this discrimination from this location, I would have made my appointment and at other location then come to lake Zurich or better bought my tires from anywhere that knew how to treat customer's. And if it is that I have to pay extra to upgrade my membership to get tires to fix the issue then I will do it at that time but cancel my entire membership the next day. All I have been using Costco for gas I have both users on my account use there card for fuel since my membership is used for my business. He was super polite to Asians behind ME. After breaking my glasses, I made an appointment to have a eye exam and to Purchase a new set of glasses. After the eye exam, I spoke with Elzbeth who explained to me that my vision had changed and was very helpful in recommending what type of eye glasses to purchase. It was a pleasure having Elzbieth taking the time to fully explain all the options that were available to me. Elzbieth is out going and very friendly and made what could of been a very trying trip easy Elzbieth has outstanding customer service skills and i will be going.back to the Costco for my eye glass purchases becsuse of her terrific service. read more

Costco is Costco. You've been to one you've been to them all. There was nothing here that went above and beyond any of the others I've been too. There is one complaint I do have. This goes for all Costco's and just not this one in particular. My drink of choice is Diet Snapple. I don't drink soda, I don't drink booze. I always bought Diet Snapple at Costco in 24 ounce plastic bottle variety packs. Out of nowhere, they stopped carrying it. When I ask when they are going to get a new supply in I'm told they never carried this product or it's a seasonal thing check back in the spring. I have been purchasing this at several different Costco's around my area for years. Just stop with the lame excuses. Just tell me you're no longer carrying this product and move on. Anyway, that's my negative rant about Costco. Otherwise Costco like Sam's Club is all the same. Don't expect the world and go in for the necessities and you'll be fine. read more

Cosmetically unfit, Costs more than average retailers, and fuel savings are easily negated. That's the headline for this Costco review, if that doesn't have you steering clear of this overvalued membership retailer that is slowly wasting the worlds money on hyper priced goods and giant bulk containers then congratulations, you're part of Costco's crowd. 1. Gas price - their gas price is only 5 cents below average market rate for our area and with our fuel club discount and other available discounts through our cellular provider we could have paid 10 cents below market rate and gone to a station far closer to home. 2. Cosmetics - How is it that Costco gets away with charging ridiculable prices on everyday merch that goes for a third their price at most other discount merchants and if you go with a store brand you'll kill Costco's pricing completely. Yet they continue to have the same drab stores that have been there since 20 years ago with little more than a food court remodel. While other competitors have gone through easily 2 major complete floor renovations. 3. Poor stock - Costco barely stocks food, their food selection is bare bones and I'm comparing that against another major department discount store. The imports selection is non existent and rather insultative to me. I've seen better import selections at my local grocery let alone my local branch of a discount chain store. I am really glad we don't pay for our membership and are on a family account because if I were paying for our membership I'd have canceled them on the spot and shredded the cards. Costco is an overvalued company psychologically and realistically. They have a poor layout at best, a confusing inventory that constantly changes and little to no stock stability. I love the Costco gas prices. That, plus being in Lake County, makes this the common sense place to fill up. I'm also a huge fan of the Kirkland brand, especially their alcohol. Tried the Kirkland brand vodka (not the one comparable to Grey Goose), and it was a good, clean taste that worked well for our purposes. Kirkland does have their own version of spiced rum, but I went hoping for a silver rum, as I was making my own coconut infused rum. They do have large bottles of Bacardi, however, and that ended up being adequate. I LOVE their $4.99 roast chicken. We use shredded chicken for a lot of stuff, and we discovered that instead of buying the pre-shredded chicken for X $, we could buy a roast chicken for $4.99 and get approximately 2 lbs of shredded chicken from the carcass. It is not uncommon for us to buy 2 or 3 chickens, and "process" them when we get home into containers, and have one for shredded chicken in the fridge and then store the rest in the freezer and pull them out as necessary. I'm also a huge fan of their prices on milk and cage free eggs - we go through about a gallon a week and having bought an InstantPot pressure cooker here, we now go through hardboiled eggs like crazy. Also, their sourdough bread is an insanely good deal compared to the grocery store down the street. They used to carry ITunes and Xbox gift cards in the store for a significant discount - THESE ARE NOW ONLINE! I thought they stopped carrying the XBox live cards and got bummed until a friend pointed out they are still available at Costco.com. The staff has always been super helpful and nice (keep in mind the sample/demonstration people don't actually work at Costco, so they won't be helpful in helping you find things. The customer service desk has never been anything buy helpful and delightful, and the tire center will fill your tires for free. The only thing I can say is AVOID IT ON A WEEKEND IF YOU CAN. Like all Costco's I've been too, it gets INSANELY busy and you can easily be in there forever. Additionally, if you bring your own bags/crates to carry your stuff, they will "bag" your items into them at checkout and it makes the whole process a million times easier. read more

VERY POOR SERVICE The staff at this location is very irresponsible in most of the departments - in the warehouse, tire center etc. I have had multiple bad experiences with this Costco. I called them to check if they have a certain item in stock and they said they 20. I immediately drive to the warehouse to get it but when I reached the warehouse, the item was no on shelf. When i checked with the manager, he checked in the system and said it shows 20 so he called the inventory in charge to ask. The inventory in charge said that item is sold out and might be inventory mismatch in system. I was very disappointed but i was shocked to see the same item on the top shelve in the back still wrapped in cellophane. When i told the manager again about this. He was not shocked to hear this and said this happens. This exact situation has happened to me multiple times so that why this time i was looking for that item on the top shelves. Wish there was a way to report this to a central level rather than in the store as everyone in store will protect their employees and wouldn't improve on this. read more

Outside of the pandemic, there is no greater feeling than entering a Costco, especially one that boasts a lower tax rate and gas price in the northwest suburbs. Boy, do I miss the fresh smells of free samples with the lines of customers just "trying" the novel food item for the first time....then a second time...etc. Hope to return to that one day. In the meantime, the Costco brand of course always makes shopping a little less stressful by limiting your choices to just 1 or 2 of similar items so as to prevent being overwhelmed by choice and being very transparent with their pricing (huge signs listing the price so you won't be confused). Their amazing return policy also gives you confidence that you won't be slighted with a poor-quality item without the opportunity to be righted if so desired. I went in to cash my rebate check , the lady at the membership counter said she had to confiscate my membership card, that it had expired. I asked for a replacement and she said no, my citi visa was good enough- and she had to tear up my card . (I am a current member) I called corporate to see about getting a replacement card and they said 1) she should have not taken my card and 2) I can only get another one at a Costco warehouse location. I really want a seperate card since I dont always put gas on my citi visa and if I swipe it for ID it will then charge my card, same as my eye care, I use my HSA card not my citi visa card. I was able to go to another costco and get a replacement card from a caring and understanding employee. Not sure what this lady's issue was read more

I was cursed by an employee when I return the shopping cart. He had a dyed long hair pulled back. He yelled from my back because he didn't like the angle of the cart. Since the day I stopped returning the cart so enjoy making extra steps for picking them up for him. Cold season is coming. I really love this Costco location. It is in Lake County so the taxes are cheaper. It is in a huge strip mall with a bunch of other useful stores and restaurants which make it convenient. I love going to Costco. I really like how they provide you with samples and sent a coupon book in the mail so you can save even more money. I always stop by the cafe area to pick up a slice of pizza and a blended mocha after shopping. The cafe is super cheap and yummy as well! I try to avoid Costco at all costs on weekends. It becomes a mad house. You canny move and the lines back up really far and move pretty slow. I guess I cannot complain with the money I save! Although, not everything is cheaper at Costco so you have to check prices. They also have more than just food. I bought a cute Puma jumpsuit the other day. I have been super impressed with all aspects of this particular costco. The cashiers are always super friendly and efficient. The workers stocking shelves are extremely helpful and go out of their way to help you find items. I once had a young man from the meat department walk me over to the veggie cooler to show me where to find a veggie tray even though it was not his department. And I cannot say enough good things about my interactions with the gentlemen in the tire and auto center!! Wow! As a former Sam's Club member (where they do everything they can to make it difficult for you to buy tires and have them serviced), my experience at this costco has been a 180 degree shift from what I am used to! The Friday before Thanksgiving, they special ordered 4 tires and had them in 3 days later and installed them immediately so we could drive safely with new tires for our holiday trip. They called to remind me to do the free safety inspection. Today when I brought my car in with no appointment because the tire pressure was low, they immediately spotted a nail and fixed it in less than an hour, free of charge (rotations and patching free when you purchase tires from them, which is an incredible savings)! Whoever is managing this store appears to be doing a great job and hiring top-notch employees. They adapted well to COVID (shields at checkout, requiring masks, Xs on floor at checkout, aisles marked, etc.). Of course I'm hoping they bring back their trademark samples and sheet cakes post-COVID. One other thing - our executive membership more than pays for itself because we buy a LOT here. If you shop here a decent amount, do the math and look into upgrading. We get a check once a year, and you don't even need to spend in the store - they'll give you cash. Spent an hour waiting for covid vaccination at the pharmacy today. Had made appointment for 11:15 AM arrived at 11:00 to register but alas found several (7 or 8) with the basically the same time. Long story short the problem was corporate had unilaterally decided to "open" the reservations without regard to how many people they could service. Fifty minutes later I got vaxed and walked out to see at least 12 or more waiting for their turn. I went to Costco because of I trusted their reservation system and i was wrong. I have been a member of Costco Lake Zurich. I especially use the optical department( exceptional service) and I fill up with gasoline every week. The folks at the fuel pumps are the most helpful and friendly employees- Eva and Scott are Just two of the people that are always helpful. Costco has some of the most friendly consumer policies in the retail industry- low prices, huge selection and easy return. The credit card provides over $1100 every year in points and that covers the membership fee over ten times. Just want to thank the people at Costco. THIS IS DIRECTED TO "DR" STRASSER at the Costco VISION CENTER Please BEWARE. I've been wearing contacts and glasses for over 50 years, and have never in my life felt more uncomfortable, unsafe, and disrespected than during my recent appointment with Dr. Robert Strasser. I was relieved to get out of there on my first visit as he was very arrogant and condescending. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe he was just having a bad day. Then, unfortunately I had to go back a second time because he did not perform the eye exam properly and gave me the wrong prescription. His attitude and demeanor was even worse the second time (and it was his fault I even had to come back). I don't want anyone to have to experience what I went through, so I wanted to warn anyone thinking of seeing Dr. Strasser. Here are the details of my second visit: He walked out of the office with his previous patient and called me in immediately. I asked him if he had wiped down the chair, and he arrogantly replied, "Nope. Never have." Shocked by this (as the COVID numbers have been rapidly increasing), I told him I have to be careful because I'm an organ donor recipient and at high risk for COVID. His response to that was, "That's a bummer." At that point I was not only offended, but also worried. If he's not doing the bare minimum to keep things clean, and is so bold in his stance of not caring about his patients' well-being...I felt very uncomfortable. You should be able to trust your eye doctor, and they should be respectful to their patients...Dr. Strasser did not display either of those qualities. His lack of professionalism continued into the exam. Just like all exams, with my eyes up to the machine, he gave me two options and asked which one looked clearer. After just a couple seconds, he said in an irritated voice, "I'm waiting for an answer." I told him it was taking me a few seconds to decide. More than just a bulk supply store... they have decent food as well. TL:DR at bottom I am not going to review Costco in general because I am sure you know that they sell things, in a warehouse style and it offers you big savings... ok enough about that... lets talk about the food I go to Costco for lunch... not only in Lake Zurich but if I am near a costco and I have $1.50 burning a hole in my poket or if I need a huge hot dog or a slice of greasy pizza, it is a go to place. It is not five star dining, and I used to be one of those people who would look at people who eat at places like Costco or Ikea with a certain judgmental glare, but the fact is... it isn't that bad and it is really cheap. I have stuck with either the Peperoni Pizza, the Brat, or the Hot Dog and they are all decent. The real kicker is, you can get lunch for under $3.00. I am not saying I am cheap... I am not NOT saying I am cheap either, but there are times when I dont want to brown bag it at work or I am just in the mood to get out of the office and Costco hits the spot. For $1.50 you get a dog and a drink... thats it... the dog is huge... bigger than the bun. It comes on a steamed bun, and it tastes like a hot dog. The pizza is a $1,50 for a slice, again a large slice, and another $.90 for the drink. Once you blot all the grease off the pizza, it too is a good lunch item. Would I cater a wedding with Costco food probably not, but when you need a quick break after shopping, it will provide you with enough nutritional value to unload your car. TL:DR Give it a try, the food is ok and the price is great. If you don't like it, you are not out that much. PLus... no membership needed to get lunch there. read more
