I had placed an online order to be sent to the Monrovia Kohl's since they didn't have the item in stock. Every so often, I checked my order and noticed the deliver to store date kept getting pushed back. Today, I looked online and notice that the same item I was waiting for was in stock and available today even though my online order was delayed. I called the store to find out if they have the item. Turns out they do have it in stock in the color and size I wanted but do not have the same item I ordered online a while back delivered yet. I spoke with the manager named Jen and she said Kohl's online is different from the store in regards to availability and it's not a simple swap from their items to online ordered items. Jen said she would check the status of my order and get back to me. Jen did as she said, called me back and gave me options to provide the item purchased. I opted to wait for my item because of time restraints this week. I don't like that Kohl's is not up-to-date on their systems and does not provide products to the people who purchased first online while they have the item on hand in the store. Either way, I'll think twice about ordering an item online and just check the store. If it's not available, I'll go to another store or company altogether. Regardless, Kohl's needs to update their systems so customers come first instead of paying their CEO 12.8 million dollars. My 5 star review is for the Monrovia Kohl's manager Jen for doing what she said and providing great customer service. I hope she gets a raise or given a free trip to Hawaii from Kohl's. This is one of the closest Kohl's near me and so when I want to shop at Kohl's this is the place I usually head to most often. I think Kohl's offers a lot of selection in the young, trendy women's clothes. Generally the store is clean and there are not clothes on the floor (well maybe a little here and there, but it isn't bad as going to a Ross or Marshal's where crap is all over floors all the time). One thing that I don't like about this place is that there are usually long lines here. Also the jewelry department will not let you pay for your items unless you purchase something from the jewelry department, that's lame. read more

I think this is my favorite Kohl's of all time. It is clean, well-kept, and they have selections you don't find in the other local Kohl's locations, specifically a larger jewelry and accessory selection. It's also laid out well, whereas the two-floor layout of the Alhambra location can be a pain, and inefficient, but we go there more often, because it is closer to us. I've never had to deal with a return or anything like that, so that may be a different story entirely. I know they are an Amazon return site, which I think is nice for those folks who do that. I wish I was closer, so I could go this location more often. It's a much warmer and more accommodating location, with more pleasant sight lines, but what can you do? read more

Went to Kohl's Monrovia today in order to buy over $300 of new work clothes and some shoes. My Grandma is 85 and needed a place to sit as I browsed and tried on the clothes in order to ensure their fit. Surprisingly, the staff at Kohl's Monrovia could not find a chair or flat surface that she could sit down in order to allow me to shop. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Monrovia location and I am considering finding a new shop altogether. Also, my Kohl's card is nice but doesn't need to stay open with a company who struggles a way to be compassionate to the elderly and disabled. To the management at Kohl's: Find a way to say "Yes" to your customers and they will not have any reason to say "No" to shopping at your stores. read more

So this is just another average Kohls. It has some good great bad and whatever points thus it is simply just an average spot. Let alone like a bunch of the other Kohls locations, they took over an old Mervyns building here. The staff here is willing to help you find what you are looking for. This is extremely helpful. Even to the point of calling other stores to figure out what you are speaking about if it didnt make sense when you described it to them. This has happened with me. Pro Tip: The free wifi has coupons for signing in some of the time, it always pays to check it out. The clearance racks here were decidedly smaller than at a number of other Kohls locations. I am not sure why this is, perhaps the folks who shop here are willing to buy more full priced attire. The inside of this store is much much larger than you would believe it to be from the outside as well. A decent place to come in and shop if you need something. But I usually try the other Kohls locations first. They just seem to have a better selection of clearance items as well as a larger selection of childrens and mens clothing. Conversely it seems that this location has a larger selection of womens and home goods than those other locations as well. read more

Really not impressed. They sell V-neck shirts for $16. The same shirts are $10 at Target, and they're usually on sale for $8 at Target anyways. Their plus-sized section rarely has anything under $50, except for the hideously unflattering t-shirts. Tried to buy a popcorn maker today but despite having a display model, they were out of stock for the $30 model. They only had the $100 model in stock. I've visited this Kohls a few times because my aunt loves it so much. She finally got fed up with them today because they never have anyone on the floor to help. But I am appalled by the service my mom got by an associate there. Scouted the junior's section ... found a super cute hot pink jacket -- $39.99 *mite be perfect for a costume* eco -chic rug -- $9.99 (reg. $24.99) vera wang design jewlery -- ranges but around $10 Spent a lot of time in their home section putting together curtains, rugs, etc and surprisingly they had a really well coordinated and wide ranging selection. =) Ended up getting that rug and two little stuffed animals. I think this was my second time perusing the aisles of a Kohl's. OVERpriced! Yikes! I rather just spend my money at Target. I was mainly killing time while here so I just went over to the baby section. Same stuff I see at Target, such as Carter's onesies, dresses, and bodysuits. Almost everything was 50% off or buy one get one free. Even with the sale, items were still expensive...at least for me. And especially for a baby - they grow out of clothes so fast that spending 10.99 on a bodysuit just seems like highway robbery! Also, I was in the picture frame/home decor section. I saw a nice wall art that had the saying, "You make me happy when skies are gray." Very cute but when I looked at the price, the cute factor quickly dropped to "meh." $29.99?! Ay yay yay! Also, had to change the baby. Changing table was OUTSIDE of the handicap bathroom. So I had to change my baby in public. No one was in the restroom when I began to change her but someone came in when I was putting on her new diaper. I quickly stood in front of her and covered her. Come on, babies need privacy, too! Reason for visit: My sister wanted to go hiking, but it was looking cloudy so we went shopping instead! Visit date: January 15, 2012 First time? No. I'm not too big on 'big name' stores these days but sister really wanted to go shopping here. I found some nice finds. They seem to always have sales. That excites me. The store is kept tidy (the sale racks can be a mess, but that's expected). The dressing rooms are kept clean and people don't bother you when you shop. There is plenty of parking, and it's in an outdoor mall with lots of other stores and small eateries. read more

Kohls is what I would call a lower mid-level department store. The clothing us not the highest quality but not inferior. Like many places, a good deal of the stock is made in China. Good deals can be found on Dockers and other national brands. This location is kept clean and well stocked. I have found the sales people to be friendly. You will either like Kohls or prefer more high end like Macy's or Nordstrom. Heck, I do too but if I can get the same socks and boxer shorts cheaper here, why not? read more

I shopped at this monrovia store almost weekly, most of the staffs are friendly except for one. She was so intimidating & rude. I was trying to locate my kohl's cash on my email, she told me to step aside so she can helped other customer. It is not even less than 5 minutes when I was browsing to my email. She gave me that death stared like she doesn't like Asian. Her demeanor was cold & degrading. If you are not happy with your job, don't take it out on other people. The next customer she assisted, also Asian, she is trying to boss them round too. I understand you might be having a bad day, but if you are going an attitude like that you shouldn't be in a customer service position! I ventured out to Monrovia Kohl's in curiosity of what I could discover, being a die-hard Kohl's fan and greatly disappointed when the Rosemead store closed last year. I was not displeased. While the building itself is a bit older, the merchandise is top-notch and I found a great pair of Sonoma cargo pants, a polo shirt, a sleeveless Sonoma blouse and toys for the tot in one visit. To top off my purchase, I was given 25% off for having reopened my line of credit there. With Mens, home, children's, women's, juniors, shoes and jewelry/makeup/fragrance departments, there's something for everyone at Kohls. If you think Kohls has great deals you must be a rookie shopper. They use the same old trick other retailers use - use a high retail list price, then discount it down. So that 50% deal you got is, IN REALITY, actually the "real" list price. And Jennifer Lopez and Daisy Fuentes are not "designer" brands but celebrity brands. Of course they have a lot Of their pwn private label brands that have original list prices that are way over-priced.
