I love that Daiso is part of the mall, but one summer day ruined my experience when their AC was broken/ or they needed to use a portable ac. It was still so stuffy! It didn't feel safe shopping in the store for this reason, and I felt it was risky shopping / working there. I have read of other complaints about the AC not working, so it just feels like they're skimping or couldn't care less. Even Dollar Trees manage to turn on their AC! This Daiso branch made my shopping experience super comfy because they were well-organized and not a tiny bit messy. I went earlier today on a Wednesday during my vacay which is about to be cut short. The line wasn't held that long although there existed a line of a noticeable size~the cashier was quite fast handling customers in front of me. He was rather friendly too; he gave me a little 'Peter Rabit,' souvenir to go on top of my purchases....that mini gift is too cute to open! I'll use it for a mini bookmark. Will take a pic of that in a bit. I took a star off for the noticeable line on a weekday, but it went by quickly so I was still in and out within less than an hour. I'll be back! Prices went up again, FYI~but I needed the packaging stuff for my Soap Bars. Probably the weakest Daiso in the 626. I get it, it's in a mall, so that's why options are limited and crowds are much bigger. With the whole bigger crowds in mind, only 10 customers are allowed in the store at the time. Keep this in mind because you maybe waiting for 30 minutes or longer. I wouldn't have minded so much, but everything they had I was able to find at other Daiso locations and they were lacking things that every other location had (once again, smaller mall location). Unless there's no line and you wanna drop by when you're at the mall, there's no reason to go out of your way to go to this location. I recommend the other Daiso in Arcadia. read more

Love Daiso! We shop here every now and then to get little organizers. We went to this location for the first time the other day and it's a decent size. There were a bunch of things I haven't seen at our local one. Lots of snacks that ours didn't have as well. From a ton of plushies to a wall of Disney printed items, you'll find just about anything useful in this store! It's basically a Japanese dollar store with really neat items. Although we only came here for more organizers and some snacks, it was fun to see everything. This one is located on the outside of the mall, still connected so it's not a crazy walk or anything. This Daiso location needs to reevaluate their employees. Accusing children of stealing is not the way to go. Perhaps it's happened with other customers however grabbing things off a shelf to purchase at the register is simply shopping. Always happy to spot a Daiso Japan. While walking around Westfield Santa Anita Mall, we came across this location. It's a bit smaller than some of the other locations we've visited but they still pack a lot in here. Everything in the store is $1.50 for the most part. Prices are indicated if it's greater than $1.50. The store is organized and they offer all sorts of stationary, kitchenware, snacks, sushi making supplies, party supplies, cups, bags, hangers, etc. Employees are friendly and quick. read more

I loved this store when I visited CA. They have all the cute items I enjoy looking at and the prices were really good. For example, typically bags for washing delicates can cost anywhere from $4-$10 depending on size. I bought four bra bags from Daiso for for like $2 each AND they were soooo cute. They had all different sizes and the cost was the same for them. I thought it was a trick when I was looking at the signage because I didn't think there was any way they could be that cheap. read more

Check prices at registers... we had items that were charged more at the registers than what it said in the price tags. And the cashier did not want to honor the price error and just said oh it was priced wrong. Unfortunately for them, it is a law in California that they are violating. It was even posted at their registers. After a lot of discussion and had them call their manager (which was no manager present anyways) they finally charged us as it was on the tag. It's just annoying that the cashier acted like he didn't know and we have to show him the written law then we realized that it was actually posted on there and he knew all along. Shopping at Daiso in Arcadia, California... This location of Daiso is at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall. I've been here before and I like this store because of the free parking and the other businesses around it such as Din Tai Fung, EMC Seafood, UNIQLO, Lady M Cakes, Uncle Tetsu, etc. Can you tell that I'm a fan of this mall? Anyway, I enjoy finding $1.50 items that other Daiso stores don't have. This time, I found Hello Kitty hat clips! Sometimes, there's a gust of strong wind that lifts hats off heads! Well, this Hello Kitty hat clip will come in handy and prevent a lost hat! Another great find was Reusable utensils set. My friend, Jules, gave us a heads up about a possible ban on disposable utensils... Like plastic straws, plastic cutlery could be next... It's a fairly small store, but it makes up for it by being conveniently located in a mall. They have self-checkout stations now which make paying a breeze so long as you're using a cashless option. This Daiso seems well-stocked as well, and getting a hold of someone to help you out with finding an item is a guarantee. read more

Store has lots of merchandise it's locate at the Arcadia mall. It's clean and it feels crowded. I purchased two items that were priced wrong and the cashier said they are not allowed to return without manager approval and the manager was not in the store until 3 days later. Problems with this store: one is pricing. The diner plate I purchased was a sticker that showed 300 yen, which is about $2.75 US, however, I was charged $4.25 plus the Arcadia sales tax rate of 10.35%, which should have been 10.25%. Therefore, my total cost being $4.69. Second, is that they do Not allow exchanges or returns on any item, so if you purchase something and find something wrong with it or it was something you didn't notice that you don't like about what you purchased, well you're out of luck. Third, is the diner plate I purchased has LEAD in it, so I didn't notice this till I got home, and as I mentioned above, No Returns, so I'm stuck with something I won't be using. The store is small. This is not a regular Daiso that I am accustomed to that I can get kitchen utensils and office supplies.

Misleading pricing and lack of labeling I just grabbed a roll of wrapping paper and lined up for 20 minutes, only to find out it is special pricing (higher than the regular $1.75). When I asked where the special price was shown, the staff told me that I get $1 off holiday items as if I shouldn't care. I then gave the feedback to the store manager and he showed me this little sticker on top of the size of a pinky fingernail on the big box of wrapping papers (think 50+). It's totally out of eyesight and misleading. All their other special priced items are individually labeled with a bigger sticker. read more

I love this place. It's like the dollar store, only Japanese and ranges in price from $1-$5. They have everything you need in this place. Good selection of snacks in flavors you might not find elsewhere (fizzy hi-chew! 100% honey& yuzu candy, seaweed potato sticks, Tom yum pretz, Mango Dipped Pocky!) I was excited to visit a daiso here since they don't have any on the east coast, but it fell short of my expectations. Nothing really caught my eye except for some snacks and a cute Mickey Mouse laundry bag. Oh, and their snacks sealer is pretty neat too. I found omelette(egg) molds, great if you are doing keto/low carb/ cute lunches. They are meant for the microwave and are a hard plastic. I grabbed a lunch container, cake slicer, some food themed erasers, and small doll outfits. I also found Pocky and milk candy in a few flavors. I was not able to find the house slippers I was looking for on this occasion, but was pleased with the molds. PARKING: For easy access, I recommend parking either in the parking garage (and taking the escalator up) or parking near Nordstrom. MAIN TAKEAWAY: It can be confusing to locate this Daiso for some people if they found it off of Google or Yelp, but if you know where it's precisely located and where to optimally park, there shouldn't be any issues. This location might not be the best if you're specifically looking for a Daiso and have no interest in going to the mall. I've always understood the protocol of following the people in the store who you thought might possibly try and "steal" something. But at least tell the employees not to follow the customers so closely so we don't feel targeted/profiled. Another thing that might be helpful is telling your employees not to talk about following a person they're right behind. Some people might be clueless to their surroundings, but not all of us. & to the tall man in the blue shirt, yes following people so closely IS something offensive. read more

The Asian 99 cents store! For those of you who have never been here before, everything in this store is $1.50! Of course, you may occasionally find your sale items (usually $1) and your "premium" items such as slippers and umbrellas for $3-4, but when you come to Daiso you come in knowing that you can really stretch your dollar bills here! Things I love: - You come in with a general sense of what you want to buy and are usually surprised to find it... and more! For example, if I am looking for sticky notes, I'll find cute cat sticky notes and even translucent stickers just for marking up pages. Your imagination can really run wild with the random things they choose to sell at this store! Things I don't love: - You MUST have a $10 minimum purchase to use a credit card, otherwise you're forced to use cash or debit. - It's an eyesore considering their neighbors are Coach and Nordstrom. Honestly, it feels like they couldn't figure out where to open their store so they stuck it in the promenade because nothing in the mall was open. - Cheap is cheap... and sometimes that's the bad thing! Bad as in, if I purchase a 3-pack of carabiner clips and find that two of them break within initially opening the package, Im going to be a little upset despite the small cost of the product itself. -- But overall, there's really nothing you can't love about Daiso. If you're trying to kill time this is a great place to walk in and impulse buy a lot of random things that you never knew you needed. Their products are not safe. I bought a glass mug for my kid. Right after I left the store, I saw there is a crack on the mug right away. But the cashier said she has checked it while I bought it, so I can't exchange. I knew she did not check the mug because she the mug was on the table when she scanned the bar code. I was excited to come in and regretted it a bit afterwards. My boyfriend was able to find some shoe bags that I have been hoping to score for awhile. The worst thing about this store was that there was only one cashier. We didn't realize why the line was so long until we saw that there was one person assisting with all purchases and it was slow moving. It was so slow that the couple of front of us just up and left their potential purchases on the rack and walked away. When it comes to Japanese discount stores, Daiso is the best (at least in America). It's simply amazing that you can get cute stuff (and so much of it) for $1.50. For $1.50 you can get Japanese organizational trays and bins, garden supplies, kitchenware, household knick knacks, snacks, drinks, bath and body, cosmetics, hair accessories, socks (the furry ones are so comfy), tote bags, stationery, school supplies, cleaning supplies, toys, eyeglasses, cups, dishes, coin banks, trash cans, etc. Some items are over $1.50 but those are marked (e.g., travel pillows are $2). They have all kinds of furry things to keep you warm (not that you need it around here), shoe clips, lace socks, etc. Their stuff looks so much better than what you'd find at the typical dollar store. This was my first Daiso grand opening and I was excited to be one of the first to shop at the new location at Westfield Santa Anita. They gave out raffle tickets for prizes. The first 200 customers received a nice swag bag: a Daiso bag filled with tea and snacks. There were free samples of tea and Pocky. I bought three boxes of Pocky and got a giant inflatable Pocky stick that says Daiso on it. Cute. It's a smaller location (it's outside the the Promenade area) and the aisles seem narrow but it was very crowded during the grand opening. The selection of socks and sponges seems smaller than the other location in Arcadia. I love this store but the idiot employee ruined today's experience and I walked out because of his stupidity. I got in line and three customers left and he was was letting the guy In front of me inside and looks at me and said I'm not In line ummm I was standing behind the guy and there was no one behind me or anywhere around me at the time and because I wasn't standing literally 1 foot to my left I wasn't in line. This is the worst Daiso I've ever been to. It feels more like Daiso outlet. The layout makes no sense. It seems like it's bigger than other locations but it still somehow seems so crowded and the options are very limited. The music is played too loud and usually it's a strange mix of genres. Stopped by this Daiso Japan awhile ago located near the turtle fountain in Santa Anita Mall. A lot smaller compared to other Daisos, but does have a lot of interesting items. Got a few drinks to try out, not to bad. But overall I usually get the colored sandals, usually lasts for months before I replace them again. read more

So many cute and creative things here. We wandered around, obsessing over everything. We came out of the store with a bunch of items. Everything is a must have and are absolutely adorable. It's neat and spacious inside the store and there us usually aren't a lot of people. They also have cold Japanese beverages, like Ramune , Calpico, and others. They also offered tea, energy drinks and soda. There was also a snack aisle, with chips, cookies, and other food. There are cosmetics, craft supplies, pillows, blankets, toys, stuffed animals and a great variety of other products. All Daisos are amazing and if you've ever visited one you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. This Daiso was great, as usual, with lots of room and products. Great store! read more

Out of all the Daiso I've been to, I like this the most. This store has more varieties than the other ones. I left with quite a few items. Originally, I wanted to buy more, but since I didn't bring a bag with me, I didn't grab as much items as I wanted. In the end, I realized that this location still gives out free plastic bags.
