This is the new location by the woodfield area. The building was previously art van furniture. The inside is very clean and bright. Lots of sales going on, literally a red sign everywhere. The fiancee and I heard from the future brother in law that this new Kohl's has just been established. So we decided to take a Sunday stroll through the isles. This Kohl's is at the top of my list of all Kohl's ive been in. If you have to choose between another Kohl's and this Kohl's, I'd choose this one. They have lots of clothes and random accessory things that you might need but not realize you need until you see it! If you like make-up, they have Sephora. This is one of the nicest Kohl's I have been in . They moved into the former ArtVan furniture store, so it is spacious and modern and very bright . They do have self check out and Amazon returns. It is well organized. There is a Sephora located in the center, which is a nice addition. read more

I'm only half a day from work because I have a birthday party to attend. Since I don't have any present yet for the birthday girl I just drove my car to this location. The one who will be birthday was my friend and we are the same age and same size so it's easy for me to choose clothes for her. So I went to the women's selection when I entered. There are a lot of choices they have. Since she also works in an office , I decided to buy her a skirt and blouse. I'm choosing between gray or black pants. I also ask some staff where it's the best between the two colors. They said the gray one since the black skirts are common. So I added it to my purchase. I chose a white blouse that is perfect for a gray shirt. I went home since I bought a present already. read more

This review is for Kohls in general - not just this location. Something is going on at Kohls - they are not customer concentrated anymore. They are stingier with coupons and with how many you can use at once. I am also well aware that coupons cannot be used with manufacturers such as Columbia, NIKE, etc. However, I attempted to purchase 2 pairs of Gloria Vanderbilt capris with a 30% coupon. After several unsuccessful attempts I did a live chat and was told that you cannot use coupons with Gloria Vanderbilt. This was always possible in the past. Gloria Vanderbilt?! C'mon! I used to think kohls was low quality, unpleasant clothing but I have since changed my mind. I love their Croft and barrows label. I always seem to find something I like even if I'm not looking. Now that Amazon has a return hub there and they give you $5 off anything you buy there that day I seem to buy a lot more. I was making an Amazon return the other day and I was trying to have tunnel vision. My husband said "hey I think you'd look great in this." It was a Hawaiian type shirt with cactus and roadrunners on it. I loved it. It was on sale already and I got my $5 off so I consider my self a winner and Kohls is too. read more

My husband and I were there and the lane to pay got long, the customer service lady asked for the next customer and no one moved. I was third in line, so I moved over. Just then this older mean lady began to yell at us at the top of her lungs. Saying that they had to take the next in line, I told her no one moved and she continued to yell. I turned around and the two people ahead of me had already been helped. There was absolutely no need for her to be so mean. I am not a shopper and end up doing most of my clothes shopping online. When I need something quickly, Kohl's is nearby and offers a wide variety of items ranging from clothes to appliances; from home decorating to pots and pans. Their selection of men's clothes is vast. I would not buy a suit there, but for casual or business casual. they really can't be beaten. And, if you have a Kohl's charge card, they offer specials off their already discounted prices. And, they constantly send coupons to our home. They sort of spam you in snail mail, but if you need something, you probably have a coupon in your mail already. My one complaint is service. If you have a question, there are very few people around to ask. And, like most discounters, the people who do come to help often don't know how to answer you. More, there are always lines at the registers. Even so, if you know what you want before you go and don't allow yourself to be sidetracked by the other things you see, Kohl's can be a good experience. read more

While I have only ran into a few people with a smile on their face, the front desk employees are the worst (ie: young guy with glasses at the Amazon counter). Kohl's is usually higher than most other stores, so customer service is a must! I'm not a big fan of Kohl's like I used to be back in the day. I usually only good in for the home goods items if I see a good deal in the ad. I saw this pouf thing I thought would make a super cute chair for my makeup table and it could easily move around me room. I had also been putting off returning an item I got for Christmas in a white elephant thing because I hate crowds, crabby people, inconsiderate people and lines...and usually the return sections as stores have the worst of all those categories. I actually can't complain about any trip I've ever had here. This past trip was no exception. Despite a long line, the ladies working customer service were very upbeat and happy to help every customer - even the testy ones. My cashier was super cute and was asked me what I was going to use this weird pouf thing for. Nice young lady and quick to get people through her line. On the other side of the store there were like 10 people waiting in line. If that's the case when you line up, try the registers by the other entrance as when I went there was no wait for them. My pouf thing was 50% off making for a great deal. Most of the home goods are a bit pricey but if you combine their coupons with sale prices you can usually walk out with a good deal. I especially like this location as it's independent from any mall structure. Thus, less people, more parking in their own lot and an overall better shopping experience for this girl. read more

No problem with the girls at the register but at the return section every time I have an Amazon return same elderly ladies are always there and with the same attitude and I've just had it. I'm standing in line. No one in front of me. I look at this worker just throwing returned items across the register maybe 3 registers down just throwing it rudely. She sees me and I'm still waiting to be helped. She finally helps. I said hello I have an amazon return. I have the same item(2 of them) a small and medium. Now she did ask which one did she just scan and I said "oh no, hold on I'm not sure" so as I continue to search for the right scan bar on my phone, she sighs , rolls her eyes with also smacking her lips together Rudely. I will NEVER come back. I actually left there fuming even after talking to the manager. My issue started with a call to the store to see if my order was there. The first women said I needed my order number to check. I said thank you I will call back with that. I called back and spoke to another women who said "your order won't be here anymore it's past 5 days". I asked if I could give the order number for her to check. She said again it most likely isn't there. Annoyed I said thanks for your help Buhbye. I called 1-800 number and they HELPED me and stated my order was still there and it's actually 7 ness days. I go to pick up my order and the women at customer service was absolutely terrible. I stayed my annoyance with the above issue. She continued to stare at me didn't apologize for MY TROUBLE due to her team members. The. She said I need the barcode for your order. I said I don't have it she again stated. I asked CAN I USE MY ORDER NUMBER. She said I mean well yea but typically people have a barcode. I said "why does this have to be difficult" she said it isn't difficult most people have a barcode. LISTEN LADY I DON'T HAVE TIME TO SEATCH MY EMAIL FOR A BARCODE. I do however have the HANDY Kohl's app that ur cashiers push on me every visit that has my ORDER NUMBER. Meh. All the popular sizes are always picked through and they often don't have items in stock that are on the display mannequins. On the weekends it turns into an utter mess so get ready to squeeze through cramped rows to finally find something decent then find out your size is out of stock. Being a Kohl's, the tend to recycle last year's clothes as new stuff as the seasons cycle instead of putting it on clearance and flushing the old stuff out. Consequently they usually have a very large clearance section of seriously ugly or old stuff. Once in awhile you can find a gem so if you have a time, take a look through that. Kohl's may seem cheap but in reality it's not that cheap. They only way the prices are decent is if you have a 30% off coupon so sign up for their card and wait to receive a coupon in the mail before even thinking about going in. Also, make sure you don't buy everything on your list at the same time when they are offering their Kohl's Cash. After you get the cash and it becomes valid, THEN go in and get that last item using the Kohl's Cash. That's how you get a decent deal at Kohls The return line is usually a frustrating mess here because there's always some crazy lady that bought something using 4 different forms of payment and is trying to return that while purchasing something else. That means you'll stand in line for ages to get your simple return in. read more

Let me start by saying I worked for Kohl's as an Assistant Manager for nearly two years and have seen much better Kohl's stores in my day. This Kohl's is consistently not in good working order in any sense. Bathrooms are a hot mess and need a good power wash. The clearance sections are an absolute nightmare, no order to them whatsoever, shirts are being hung on pants hangers, and half the rack is on the floor. I don't believe I've ever had an employee smile and say hi to me. No, they haven't even smiled. The signing is all wrong. I had to have the snotty woman at the register make an adjustment on a junior's dress the last time I was in there. I thought her eyes were going to roll back in her head when I told her the sign was wrong. She didn't seem to act like this was a new occurance, leading me to believe their signs are frequently wrong. Mannequins clothes are falling off, and it's obvious the mannequins are not dressed in what they should be. Every department in this store needs to do a complete 180. It's obvious the management team and the employees are not taking their jobs seriously, or maybe their District Manager is not being hard enough on them. For this being in Schaumburg, one of the shopping capitals of the nation, I would be shaking in my boots as a member of this management team. They must get visited by their corporate office quite often and get reamed for their store never seeming to improve. I know how hard it is to work for Kohl's, but this store just seems to be getting worse over the years. Whatever their strategy is, it needs to change. read more

I came here to buy my oldest a pair of gym shoes. I came armed with a 20% off coupon (given to me by my grandma) and a $10 off coupon (given to me by my mom.) The shoe department was a bit messy, but that was expected being that school starts in less than 5 days. We found 2 pairs of shoes at the right price. Before going to the check-out counter, I looked at my coupons again and noticed the 20% off one was only if you used your Kohl's charge card which I do not have one. So I found an employee and asked him if he had a coupon. He said he didn't and gave me a sales pitch about opening a Kohl's charge which I had no interest in doing. So I went to the customer service area and asked if there was a coupon for me. The lady said there were only coupons available if you had a Kohl's charge card, then she said wait, let me double-check and looked at what seemed like important papers and told me that no there were no coupons for me, but they would be coming out after the 21st. So I go to the check-out register with the shoes and present both of my coupons and nonchalantly run my non-Kohl's card thru their machine and got caught. The cashier said I needed to use my Kohl's card which I preceeded to tell her I didn't have one. Then another cashier said something to the effect of giving me a 15% off coupon that I saw sitting there in a stack. My current cashier gave the other cashier the stink eye and started to berate her right then and there that they are not allowed to give those coupons out to people because then 'they' won't make their sales for the day and those coupons are only to be used for people who say they forgot them at home. I did get to use that 15% off coupon and am grateful to the other cashier for pointing that out. Then as I am walking out the store, my cashier starts again on the other cashier about how wrong she was. So while I do like Kohl's, why would the customer service department say they had no coupons and then why wouldn't the cashier offer a coupon to me seeing as I DID have a coupon to use but I didn't have a Kohl's charge. Note for next time--get a better coupon and scope out what is on top of the registers for coupons. read more

I just went to this new renovated Kohl's today and it's probably the only time that I've had a slight bit of negative feedback for a Kohl's. I usually have great experiences at any of the many locations as Kohl's is known for putting their customer satisfaction first. Surprisingly, this store just had a "grand re-opening/ revamp" and is the only one in the area to have this new model just recently rolled out but they had some quirks that really kind of tainted my night at Kohl's. 1) The announcement on the intercom kept on announcing that the story was closing in 30 minutes, 20, 15, 10, 5, closing, closing now, is closed. OKAY, we get it!! We understand that you're trying to close but come on, do you really have to announce it every couple of minutes?? It really gets the customer feeling anxious. As a newly renovated store, having customers still sticking around and wanting to buy merchandise from you at closing, is a whole lot better than running an empty store until closing time in my personal opinion. Any business is good business, than having no business at all! Now which would you rather? Is it that much more of a problem to have customers wanting to stick around for a few additional minutes? I'm just saying, that kind of action is kind of off-putting and even my husband was making the remark "Geeez, they are not missing a beat to tell us that they REALLY want us to leave!" I used to work at the Apple store, and as a management rule, employees were never to approach a customer and tell them that the store is closing, we could only say "can I help you with anything?" I know that is very ideal and likely, not every store practices it, but I'm serious when it was practiced at the store I worked at, it was a good policy made to enhance the customer's experience, not kill it. 2) Upon arrive at check-out (and this is where it all went down), our check-out girl did not seem that happy to still be checking us out. I went with my husband and mother and we each received our own UNIQUE $10 off code (as in invitation to come and visit this newly re-designed store). Well, we thought it would be easier and nice if we could just put all of our purchases together and combine the $10 codes ($30 off total) and receive it all in one transaction. Well, our sales person said we are not allowed to do that. OK, I can understand maybe they can't so we then asked her to separate our transaction then and apply each of the $10 separately. She then actually said, "oh no, because you all "came" together, you are ONE customer, and I cannot combined your offers. Seriously? No, we are NOT one customer. We are individuals who individually received separate invitations and discount code mailed to our separate emails (by your store!) Just because I had a chat with my mother a few minutes before and the sales girl saw me, now it's ONE coupon per "customer"? No, you are thinking per "household" my dear and it does not say so. I even said to her, I have MY own unique code and MY own Kohl's charge and still, the young lady said "No, you are one customer". What is this, the old-new JCP now? No, Kohl's have always been soooo good at making the customer happy and I was one minute away from calling in the Manager. But because the store was closing, I didn't want to stir it more up, but that was so rude! Honestly, if this is truly Kohl's policy, then there is a problem with this rule. Why? Because people go shopping with their friends and family!! Do you honestly expect people to pretend they dont know each other in line, just so they dont get labeled "on the same transaction" and therefore, be clumped together as "one customer"?? Do you want only SINGLE people to come shop and shop solo?? That is just bad business practice, if so! I don't understand what our sales girl was even trying to say and most of all, her tone was really coming off as she is right, and we are wrong. She kinda acted like she just wanted to get it over with the way she was scanning our things and tossing in the bag. Oh yeah, and she asked me, "do you want a separate bag"? Uh yeah, I am a separate customer since you made me do a "separate transaction", I want a bag. 3) I asked if we could use our 15% applied to our discount and she said OK and that she applied it already. I ran my credit card through and now coming home to find out, she didn't apply it! Honestly, my entire experience tonight came down to the last critical 10 minutes. Now despite my one really NICE young lady who helped me in the cosmetics section and went out of her way when I asked a simple question about eyebrow pencils. She showed me all the different brands and even took some out of packaging when the testers were missing to show me the colors. She was very attentive and gave me person attention when I didn't know which ones to pick. But still, this visit was a bad impression for me. Too bad cause it's a newly revamped store too! read more

I have found the customer service at this location to be great and very friendly! The clearance section(s) were HUGE because it's just after Christmas. Gotta get the old out and the new in, I guess!! We don't like to use credit cards, but it's silly not to get the Kohl's card because of all the rewards and benefits that come with it! The lady at the front gave me a scratch off to see how much my discount would be for using my Kohl's Charge. She was sweet and also gave my daughter one, too. Merchandise on floor in disarray. Fitting rooms dirty and full of unwanted merchandise. Wanted to just pay for my item and leave but when I got up to the cashier I was subjected to the cashiers conversation with another employee about missing staplers. After paying for my item the two chatty Cathy's were so involved in discussing staplers the cashier did not bag my item so I could leave. I stood there for at least a minute looking at the cashier before she finally realized I was still there. I got a snotty sorry and finally a bag so I could leave. Kohls missing staplers and who takes them home are not my concern. Just wanted to pay and leave as quick as possible. Would suggest some retraining from kohls corporate office in customer service for this store. This is the second time I have had a problem at this store. I will not be back. read more

Got a very unhappy experience there today. I went there the first time with my wife to get some clothes because we got a kohl's gift card. And I was in the same fitting room with my wife. While my wife was grabbing a few more pieces very quickly to try, the lady working around the fitting room approached me and tried to kick me out with two reasons: 1) She claimed that the room is a lady's fitting room. 2) Customers walking around there would feel uncomfortable seeing me in the room. I told her that I couldn't leave until my wife came back and her stuff was all there. And I proposed that I could close the door while waiting for my wife so that no customers could see me and feel uncomfortable. And there was no sign showing that the room is only for ladies. She went "that is not the point" and insisted me to go out. While I was walking out, she was still trying to lecture me that it is a lady's fitting room, like a lady's restroom. There is no "Thank you" or "Sorry" or anything like that! I went out and double checked -- THERE IS NO LADY'S FITTING ROOM SIGN AT ALL! And I confirmed with another customer just outside the room, HE NEVER SAW A LADY'S FITTING ROOM SIGN THERE! This is the worst customer service I have had in my life! Please don't go there. read more

Purposely have not been here in months because the lines at customer service are always so long and there is always just one person working. Apparently nothing has changed. I bought some shoes online but they did not fit. I wanted to ship them back but then was told I have to pay for the shipping. I had already waited 10 days to get the shoes to begin with, and I cannot fathom why anything would take that long to ship. And now they want me to pay to ship them back? Ridiculous! I just went to the store to return them and once again there was one person working and 10 people in line. Another lady came to help work and then was told to leave. How does that make any sense? This store is one of the worst in regards to how long it takes to ship something to you and in regards to customer service. I absolutely love Kohl's. You would be out of your mind and very foolish to pay for anything full price here. They ALWAYS have some type of coupon. Their 15% off coupons mostly come out on Thursdays and are good both online and in the stores. Oh, and the Kohl's cash is great!! Basically free $$ I also love their return policy! They accept returns from any time period...I've never had a problem returning anything! Sometimes their women's clothing department can be a bit messy, dis-organized so you will have to walk around a bit and really look through things. read more

I love Kohls already and generally shop there a few times a month. They always have great deals and this location in particular is always clean and organized. Today I went in for a return which went very easy. As I was leaving I stopped to look at the FitBit - a possible Christmas present. Lucas (store associate) asked if I knew much and really just took his time educating me on the product and informing me about what discounts and coupons would apply. He was not pushy at all and I did not have to wave him down for help either. I am still deciding if I want to purchase one but I was so impressed by the great customer service. : ) read more
