I found a kid who said hell help but we have to pull up truck and shed My father had already brought shed to the truck in the parking lot. I told the kid to come to the car and he refused to move from his post. Said "we don't do that." What an absolute bum. So me and my 60 year old father loaded up the 300lb shed in the parking lot. One of the busiest CostCo's I have seen so far in the Chicagoland and beyond. Came in on a Thursday right around 5pm. Cashiers were fast and efficient, so the check out lines were actually not that bad. Food court area seemed smaller in this particular store layout compared to others have seen. Food items available were top notch as usual. Specially a large number of Indian food items not found in other locations. read more

The layout is a bit awkward. Carts are next to the exit door making it so you have to walk past the exit traffic to get to the entrance if you need a cart. When checkout lines get long it funnels into one aisle because of the layout. Not much to complain about otherwise except some things they stopped carrying that I need to ho yo Randhurst location for, but otherwise a good location. I greatly approve of the new foodcourt layout. Makes it a lot less congested when checking out and passing the food court to exit the building. read more

We still shop at Costco about once a month. They have just about everything you need, as long as you need an extra large size of whatever it is you want. They are more than just groceries - furniture, electronics, pharmacy, clothing, appliances, eye exams and glasses, and more. When shopping for groceries, they have a very wide selection of staples to frozen food. They specialize in large quantities of every grocery item and I have to say, the quality is very good. Generally, the large sizes mean a good value. You can spend a lot of money at Costco before leaving but the price per pound is good, especially for the quality of the items. We've used their optical department for years. The prices and the service are both good. I've had some issues with glasses matching the prescription before and they are good at resolving open issues. Generally, Costco gets crowded. They have multiple checkout lines (and two self-checkout). There are usually people waiting at each open line. Costco is great if you want to buy quantities. If you are doing a simple shopping excursion for a few small items, Costco is not where you want to go. read more

Stopped in because we were in the area for gasoline, and found this costco to be not too crowded. Self checkout was popular, with associates making sure people were properly lined up for the 2 banks of 4 registers apiece. Gift cards vary by location, so it was interesting to see what was available for a discount in this Chicagoland location. It has an indoor food court, with all orders being placed via kiosks, and a number being called when order was ready for pickup. Hot dog and soda is still $1.50, and a pepperoni slice of pizza is still $1.99. The kiosk did an upsell for soft serve ice cream ($1.99 which I hadn't seen before), and I fell for it. It wasn't great, so definitely soft serve is inconsistent at Costco's (cause the ones in California serve great soft serve). FOOD COURT The membership goes up and the menús go to cheaper non-tasty substitutions like this lemonade strawberry smoothie which is mainly ice and some orange slush with chunks of non-drinkable old berries to justify the use of the strawberry description. 2/5 PRICES Toilet paper goes up $5? Tariffs hit Charmin? The Kirkland is still $20ish bucksit used to just be a $5 difference not $10. FOOD Quality of Produce is so poor now. Most everything is no longer a bargain, there is a limit to how much rotisserie chicken you want. GAS Walmart and Meier are comparable. PRODUCE and MEAT Better prices on produce at local franchise places like Aldi and Brookhaven. I am not renewing this Executive Membership... there is no ROI. If you have executive membership then take advantage of being able to go in at 9 am, before everyone else can get in. It is a game changer, it's like having the whole store to yourself. I've been to a few costcos in the area, but had never visited this one. We stopped by one day and decided to get my glasses done. I had my prescription so ordering was super easy. The techs were super helpful in making decisions that were best for our frames and lenses. Once I ordered them I received a text to pick them up about a week later. After we finished with my glasses we walked around the store, maybe it was just the day we were there but the shelves were pretty empty. We went to look for Perrin and they were pretty stocked on beef and turkey but not much else. The freezer section was fun to see new things compared to the Costco I often frequent at. But the clothing section and all of the dry goods section were pretty tossed around. The lines for the registers go straight from the register to mid store and as soon as you cross the other side you're essentially in a the line for receipt checks because the registers are super close to the doors. Overall we had a great experience, and it was fun to see a new Costco. read more

I really love this Costco in Schaumburg. I was looking for a refill ink for my printer and first went to the Oakbrook location, but they were sold out and recommended I check here instead. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find the ink at 50% off since it was almost gone. I was so happy with the price that I bought two sets. Was having the best day off ever! Until terror struck... The abysmal customer service counter threw me to a mood I've never experienced and that was utter and complete disappointment. Not only are the employees not trained on basic human skills, they're just plain rude! Was pointed to 3 different directions in order to sign in because I didn't have my QR code, and when I finally got to the right place the man at the membership counter scowled at me and said something I will not repeat. I'm sure if I made it past the gates of glory at the front of the store I would have been met with a great selection with amazing value as Costco normally has to offer, however this issue impeded my ability to do so. Poor scheduling, unclear billing, and dismissive management made this an unacceptable experience. Appointments are double-booked, resulting in nearly 70 minutes of waiting. A glasses exam fee was charged despite not being clearly disclosed on the website. Front desk staff were rude, and management responded defensively rather than professionally. Observing staff laugh about the situation afterward was especially inappropriate. This reflects a serious lack of respect for patients' time and concerns. We love this Costco for its sheer size and variety of products but I am super wary of the quality of the products at this location. We purchased bread, and a good size wild salmon filet. The bread was unmarked and the minute we got it home and ready to make a sandwich it was moldy. Had to go back and get it returned. Then checked out the bread to see many loads were pretty old, or unmarked. Just gross. We opened up the salmon a day later. Horrifying. It was so slimy and smelled awful awful. It was such a pain to pack back into the car return. We had to make other plans last minute for dinner. Even the associates at the front desk were disgusted and not to mention the pain of another trip to return something, just ugh. COSTCO FOOD COURT: ORDER TYPE: Dine-in MEAL: Tea MY ORDER EXPERIENCE: Costco has been down the street from me for a very long time and as it was "PI DAY," I decided to go get a Costco Pizza (pie). Besides the groceries, Costco has a Food Court where they have decent food on the menu. One major dish from the menu I want to highlight is "Costco Pizza" where each slice of the pie is $1.99 and the whole pizza is just $9.95. I ordered a couple of Cheese Pizza slices and a Strawberry Smoothie through a kiosk (near the food court where you pay and wait at the kiosk order pickup for your order). All the silverware and napkins are placed at the dining area for self-service. Each slice of pizza was served hot. The pizza is made with tomato pizza sauce and the cheese and the crust on the side were soft. The presentation was so mouthwatering that I felt so eager to take the first bite. No doubt Costco Pizza is popular, and it is just delicious. Along with the pizza, I also bought a Strawberry Smoothie where you can taste the strawberry seeds in every sip. Sometimes, my visit to Costco is just to have their pizza. Overall, it is always a good pizza experience. Lately, they started doing Dine-in again which is nice, and I will get a Whole pizza on my next visit. read more

I've had car and house insurance bundled through Costco CONNECT, a subsidiary of American Family Insurance, for a decade. Throughout that time, I tolerated the typical annual and semi-annual rate increases, but this last unreasonable increase, with no claims, coupled with phone calls to discuss my homeowners insurance policy, ended my partnership with their company. I spent over an hour on the phone with two different agents since the first one could not answer my questions. Why, for one example, is there a line item cost of $74 for sewer backup, but when you delete that coverage, the policy premium goes down by only $3? The second agent told me everything is intertwined within the policy. My response was that whoever is the underwriter of the policies has tried and succeeded in making it less comprehensible and so convoluted as to even push it past the understanding of their agents. My one call for a battery jump for a car at my home took 24 hours to service. Subsequent complaints resulted in nothing. The result of shopping around found me better coverage at one-third the cost for car insurance and a saving of over $200 on home insurance. I determined this is a greedy company that may be in trouble due to bad coverage in some other area of the country. read more

This Costco location always seems well layed out and easy to navigate. If I can't find something I can always find an associate who can easily help. Some of my favorite staples include the large variety of granola bars and snacks, pharmacy and medicine aisles (I have severe allergies so I appreciate things like the bulk Claritin) and fresh salmon, smoked or regular. Definite bonus having some of my bar favorites too, like Summer Shandy and assorted flavors of Truly sparkling water in bulk! The associates at checkout are always very friendly, helpful and quickly get you on your way. Parking gets a little difficult during peak weekend shopping times so be prepared for a possible longer walk or wait for a close spot. I just wish they took American Express so I could buy bulk items for work events here, as our company uses Amex for expenses. read more

After countless bad experiences at this particular location's pharmacy, I had pretty much written off this Costco as a big loser place. I have come here numerous times to find that they had no record of prescriptions being called in, they were out of stock with no phone call advising me so, etc. Yesterday, was the comical visit, though. I HEARD my doc call in my prescription the day before, yet they had no record of it, even trying 3 versions of my first name. Frustrated, I left the store. After I left, I called the pharmacy & talked to the pharmacist, Pat. She couldn't find it either, but did a birthdate search and found it under a different last name. Seriously? Why the tech & the CS person couldn't have done that is beyond me. Anyway, she corrected the name and said it was ready. By this time, I'm on my way out to the far western boonies where there is no Costco. She told me I could have a pharmacy out there call them and they could transfer it. Then she went a step further. She said she would be happy to initiate the transfer if I told her where to send it. That was above and beyond. But it gets better! I suggest Osco, get off the phone, then I think, "hmmmmm...we don't have Osco in TX, I bet they don't take my insurance". So, another call back to Costco and I explain the situation. As I'm stopped at a traffic light (talking hands-free btw), I get rear ended. Niiiiiiice. She freaks out a bit and says something which of course I can't remember because I was just hit by another car and a bit freaked out myself. I tell her I have to go & I will call her back. What does she do? She actually calls to find out the cash price, thinks it's too high & then calls another pharmacy out in Yorkville for me. She found one that accepted my insurance & called me back to let me know & ask if that location was convenient for me. Yes, thank you! Seriously, the comedy of errors I've experienced here are nearly forgotten because of this phenomenal pharmacist. She went above and beyond for a stressed out, frustrated customer and that is very much appreciated. :) read more

I've been shopping at the Schaumburg Costco for almost the last 20 years; it's my favorite location because it's closest to home, efficiently managed and has almost everything I need from it (cost-friendly and high quality pharmacy, groceries, electronics, gas and eyeglasses)! My only gripe would be that its Optometry Department needs to have a better means of scheduling (and rescheduling) appointments, like an online booking system or better! But other than that tiny gripe, I'd move my furniture in here if I could! Plus, I LOVE my Executive Membership, which comes with the Cash Back Citi Visa Card--I received almost $1200 back on my recent Rewards Check; The year before that I received almost $2300 back (I charge practically everything on that card -- its Cash Back Reward is WAY better than Discover Card, which I hardly ever use since it's got way too many rules on how and when I can get cash back! read more
