If you need to get your Christmas shopping done, I must tell you to stay the hell away from Kohl's. ESPECIALLY on the weekends and evenings! My god! These checkout lines are on par with the DMV in CRANSTON! They. Are. LONG!!! I do not understand it! They always have sales! But the discounts aren't even that good. So many things in this store are overpriced! Most clearance items never go under $10. Maybe $9.50 if they're feeling generous. I guess Kohls is doing what Marshall's and TJ MAXX are doing now. Having all the registers against the wall, with a maze checkout line as an automated voice calls out for the next available cashier. Crazy. I stood in line this evening for what seemed like an eternity. Kohls is struggling financially, yet I've never seen it so busy. So. Many. People. Thankfully nobody yelled at the understaffed workers to open more registers, as the four that were open seemed to handle the line at a decent pace. I had the unfortunate pleasure of standing next to a Karen at the next checkout lane who was arguing with the cashier and her supervisor over Kohl's Cash, and how the customer wants to combine the Kohl's Cash with a sale item, and then get cash back. Something they said the company doesn't allow. Idk she sounded nuts. I implore you. If you are in a hurry this holiday season. Please do not come to this store. Your patience will be tested by overpriced, name brand clothes that are somehow always on sale. Seriously, why is everything and nothing on sale at the same time?!? When you get to the register they add more discounts on top of your discount! Then you use Kohl's cash. For god sakes. Just give the clothes away! They have online pickup. That might be a better idea. Oh and they keep moving the Amazon return center every six months it seems lol. Crazy, crazy store. read more

I went to Kohls in Smithfield at 9:15 on Friday September 27. Their new system is horrible. there are 11 registers. two had lights indicating they were open. however only one register was being used. Four people in line waiting to be helped. 2 additional employees up front but just ignoring customers. it took 15 minutes to finally be helped. customer service is just awful at this Kohls. can't even imagine what the holiday season will bring. now you have one place to do purchases and returns. after 8:00 pm also have to do Amazon returns there. it is an awful shame they care so little about their customers. this review is being written by a former customer. once I have my credits and a zero balance on my kohls card I intend on closing the account and shopping in a store that cares about their customers. read more

Would give it zero stars. Absolutely horrendous. 27 people in line in front of of me with 3 registers open. Waited 45 minutes. Tried to call the store and ask for the manager but no one picks up the phone. No management within sight. it's a Thursday afternoon. Not exactly the busiest day. My cash register person (Iggie? Eggie?) was delightful. She is articulate plus she helped me set up with Kohl's Rewards Program. I like that. I think the store needs a massive clearance sale. There is so much merchandise on the clearance racks that they are crowding out the clothing for the current season. Really great store. Well-trained staff. I LOVE KOHL'S!!! This location is super convenient for me which I love. The parking is never an issue they have a big enough parking lot, and they have two entrances so you don't have to walk far to get into this big location. Every time I come it's very clean and well put together. I haven't had a bad experience yet with customer service either, when I need them they're there for me and help me to resolve any issue I run into. I'm always greeted by employees when I enter or even when I'm walking around the store. I'm a Juicy Couture girl so I love this place just for the section of Juicy clothing. This place can get kind of pricey but I always manage to find stuff for my price range which is great as well. Now I'm going to tell you about an amazing associate her name is Mary-Beth she greeted me and my fiancé with a very generous smile. She was so helpful and she was so nice. She talked the whole time with us to keep it cool and not a boring transaction. And she actually did her job. She made me so happy I filled out a form at her job to have her recognized as well. She gave me faith that some workers do care about their customers. I haven't had any issues with workers here , but she takes the cake. I'm always shopping here hence us having the credit care but associates like Mary-Beth make you want to only shop when she's on. That's how sweet she is! read more

Decent It's a department store. They have some good products, sometimes. Usually good prices and I have never had an issue getting cashed out quickly. I went to the Smithfield Kohls to get a price adjustment on a previous purchase. Gotta love those weekly % offs in the mail. I thought this would be an easy fix; show them my order # with cost of previous amount and just rebuy merchandise with now 30% off...Easy, right? NO!!! Claret at Guest Services could not locate order # on my account and the line was getting longer and longer. Of course, she was the only one working at this time since it was almost time to close. Claret was so WONDERFUL!! She never lost her patience no matter how long the line got, kept trying all ways to find my order # just to save me some $ and then finally had to ask for her manager, Joanne. Joanne, was just a Kind and Friendly!! She also tried to no avail, but between the 2 of them and 20 minutes later, I was able to save $100.00! I would highly recommend this store. I know times are tough to keep staff hired, but Joanne and Claret are the very meaning of Hard Working Customer Service! Thank You Ladies :) read more

One of the best I've been too...good layout, everything makes sense and is organized. They offer plenty of coupons, Kohl's cash and clearance items. They are willing to work with you when you issues with receipts and returns. Staff is very helpful especially with those new kiosks they offer. read more

This review is not about this location, it is for the company in general and of its slogan, "expect great things ". You can't expect great things from them particularly when owning their store credit card, I was in excellent standing with them, never late and always paid my card off. I fell into an unfortunate situation and had to claim bankruptcy all the while still holding their card and paying them off. As soon as I filed they closed my account and I have since been denied a new account, their claim as to my income which is in fact"bull"as I've had the same income from when I first got the card many years ago to this day. It's an excuse to cover for the bankruptcy when in fact the company doesn't have the decency to call and find out the situation, just take it upon themselves to shutdown your account, they don't care how good of a customer you are, they're like every other money hungry greedy company, just out for the money to line pockets and forget that customers are the ones who make them successful. I will from now on, not expect great things from Kohl's anymore, I'm very disappointed and shocked to find out how little you really care about your customers. The only great thing I just got was more or less labeled due to filling bankruptcy for an uncontrolled situation in which I still used and paid my account and apparently doesn't matter, so thank you if I don't expect anything great from you people, because you're not so great after all. This store was absolutely horrible! I've been to my share of Khols / this was sadly the worst customer service I've ever seen at one. Not only were the cashiers disorganized - but the service areas only made situations worse! They didn't even seem to know their own policies - and when it came time to make an exchange - guess what YOU CANT. Apparently if you have something gifted to you and the price has gone down - you can only get an EXACT trade. I've never heard of such a rule, and esp for gifts; seems like the management didn't care if we were happy or not. I'll admit, I used to not like Kohls. However, once you get caught up in the circle of Kohls cash, coupon codes, and clearance deals -- you're hooked. I've gotten some really great deals, both in store and online. They have plus sized clothing (actual wearable stuff), which is uncommon. What I really love, though, is the fact that the employees are always so nice and willing to help you get the best deal. They don't hesitate to find you a coupon code or rework your check-out to optimize savings. They're also pretty nice. Weird, huh? read more

I like this location a lot. Things are logically organized, making it easier to find what you're looking for. Staff is helpful as well. And, I was very impressed by how they handled the holiday return rush; I was worried that it would take forever when I saw how many people were there, but they were very efficient & the line moved quickly. Same applied to my checkout experience. My only issue with Kohl's is cost. They have an annoying marketing strategy where they jack up the prices, the try to make you think they are having an amazing sale every week, when in actuality, they're just bringing it down to a reasonable price. Don't get me wrong, you can still get a great deal, but it requires extra coupons (the kind you only get by having a Kohl's charge) and/or Kohl's cash. read more

I'm pretty much a fan of Kohl's in general: I love how they consistently provide fantastic bargains, coupons, sales and best of all, "Kohl's cash." (Free money.) Their exclusive brands also don't hurt: Vera Wang, Elle, LC by Lauren Conrad, American Beauty, the list goes on. Generally speaking, this is a pretty good location. Situated right next to my fav Target, they carry all the great items Kohl's fans are used to, plus a larger women's section than I've seen at a few of the others (ie, Seekonk). Granted the clothing aisles can be a little chaotic but with a little digging I constantly find some major steals. Vera Wang chiffon vest for $9.99? Pink satin blazer for $6?! Gimme a hell to a yeah! Over time I've learnt to pretty much the ignore the "retail price" on the tags: I'm not sure I've ever actually paid full price for anything there. Ever. Guess who scored a shirt, bra, bracelet and eye shadow palette for 45 cents...? Yup me, that's who! (Literally, folks! In general I like Kohl's alot. They always have either what I'm looking for or something I like no matter what time of year. The prices can be a little high sometimes but most things are either on sale or with coupons very reasonable. I like the selection from shoes to clothes, makeup, accessories, stuff for the house..you name it. The quality of everything is great too since they carry mostly name brands. I have never had any issues with this location, the workers are always friendly and helpful and it always seems to be pretty well stocked. read more

I just went to pay for some items at this store. The cashier helping me decided to stop at the end of my transaction to help the cashier next to her with her customers issue. All she had to do was give me my change back (I paid in cash) and I could be I my merry way. What didn't help the situation was the fact that I was in a big rush. She then proceeded to call her supervisor for the cashier next to her and was on the phone for what was probably a few minutes, but it felt much longer than that. All I needed was change back so why waste my time with an issue that has nothing to do with me & my purchases? Common sense, no? Awful customer service. I will not be back. read more

Self - Verified Buyer. I tried to exchange a defective electronic product, that I purchased at a discount over Christmas season, for a non-defective product and they asked me to return it for my money back ($60) and asked me to go online and purchase it again for the undiscounted price of $150. That is 2.5 times what I originally purchased it for when it was THERE store product that was defective. Now I need to buy it again for almost three times the cost? ME thinks NOT! Thanks for the misleading exchange/return policies. Vera Wang and Amazon should rethink their contract with Kohls. Even the lady next to me was asked to pay the difference between her defective product that was purchased at a discount for the non-defective one that was no longer on sale. DO NOT SHOP AT KOHLS! Returns, and even exchanges for typical reasons such as a wrong size, are not honored. "Kohls cash" is a deceptive practice: YOU get the discount at the time of purchase, but will not benefit if you need to exchange the item: you will be charged the full price! Don't buy your item on sale, especially clearance sale, because you will not be able to exchange it. Don't gift a clearance item for this reason. I received a gift of a shirt in a petite size, wanted to exchange it for the same item in a regular size, but Kohl's wouldn't allow it because the regular size was from "a different department" within Kohls. Same item, same price. Also, it had been paid for in part, with Kohls cash by the buyer who gifted it to me. One of the shirts (they were two colors of the same shirt) had been a clearance item - don't know why, it wasn't damaged and they still carried the same shirt . Kohls would only allow an exchange if I paid the balance on the full price, that was not covered by Kohls cash. (That is: $16 shirt, buyer paid $4 cash plus used Kohls cash credits; upon exchange, Kohls would only credit me $4 on the exchange, wanted me to pay $12 for the shirt). They would not allow an exchange at all of the second, clearance, shirt. I spoke to a cashier, the exchanges and returns clerk, and the store manager. I got no compromise, no compensatory offer of any sort. I will NEVER shop at Kohls again. read more

Warning! If you are going to purchase a gift, pay cash if possible so people can return it and buy what they want some where else. I got a fitbit for my birthday last month and I went out of town for the summer, 32 days later I came back to Kohls to see if I could exchange it for the same thing different size. Kohls would not let me do it because it was 2 days late!!! THEY USED TO HAVE A 90 DAY POLICY! They switched it and didn't say anything the day of the purchase. The service here is always great. They are always willing to help you find something that you need. The prices are about average but if you can catch them when they are having a sale you are "in the money." Sometimes they have jewelry for 65% off. That's a great deal in my mind, especially if you are on a budget. I like shopping here and will return very soon, especially if there is a sale! read more

Laura at customer service helped me place an order for 4 more and, with the help of her supervisor, ensured that I got the in-store sale price even when online support tried to say no. I can't say enough about how wonderful these two were, smiling and keeping a sense of humor the whole time. They were my heroes today! A rock solid 5-star customer service experience. Found a pair of sneakers that I really liked and even better they were on sale, or so I thought. I always triple check the sale tag before going to the check out just so I'm not surprised, but they really scammed me this time. Cashier scanned the box came up $10 more than I know they were marked. She called for a price check and was told that yes they were the scanned price. I went back to the aisle to double check since I know what I saw and oddly enough they were the only pair of sneakers now missing a price, no tag or price even near them. Come on Kohl's really??? It's only $10 do your employees really feel like they have to take down the tag to justify someone maybe making a mistake when they loaded the aisle. So let me start with this. I went to North Smithfield Kohl's looking for a pair of Sneakers. They didn't have the size I needed in the brand I wanted. I could not order online at the Store because the kiosk was down. They offered to check the Smithfield store for me so I could pick up there. I waited 15 minutes while North Smithfield Kohl's called the Smithfield store to check to see if they had my size. 15 minutes later I get confirmation they have the sneaker and to pick it up at service desk in Smithfield. They also said that they would hold for 24hrs. This was on September 9th. I go too the Smithfield Kohl's on September 10th. I tell the customer service agent my name and that I am there to pick up a pair of sneakers. The lady looks at me like I have three eyes not knowing what I'm talking about. She proceeds to check the back room and comes back stating there is nothing there for me . I wait there for 10 minutes while she looks.She does say she is sorry and that there is nothing there for me for pickup. Perfect example of terrible customer service. I don't blame the North Smithfield store. I do blame the store manager in the Smithfield store for poor customer service training. read more

So I'm a little mixed on this review.I love Kohls.Its expensive but it's good quality.That being said I did manage to walk in and out in about an hours with 2 sweaters, 1 cardigan,a pair of boxers, new flip flops,a fresh new button up and a suede tie for about $44! The problem came with the checkout woman who had me in line for about 20 mins talking about herself and attempting to get me to apply for a charge card about three times.I remained patient and polite and I got out with a great deal! They misled us to believe that items not found in the store could be ordered on line...placed the order, gave us confirmation and tracking number. While tracking the package, with a due date of 1/4/18, the order was cancelled without any notification to me. They are stating the order was out of stock but didn't know that when the order was placed and then never notified us otherwise. Very misleading!!!! read more

Seems like they forgot about them and threw them in at the last minute. This store is also much smaller than the others. The selection of merchandise is lacking. Will not go back again. read more

Customer service is just not good here. I feel bad writing this because I have had some good experiences with some of the employees there but recently things have gone downhill. There is this one particular girl, who I assume is some type of supervisor, that has one of those obnoxious "I have to express my authority over every situation" personalities. Because of this individual I will avoid this particular store going forward. She is not good at speaking to customers...about anything. When you start every sentence with "Umm...unfortunately" you should not be dealing with customers...I mean she seriously started 3 sentences with exactly that. All of this because I showed up a little too early after placing an in-store pickup order online. That was when the attitude started...no problem I was in a good mood still. Since I was there I went and retrieved the item I ordered to save someone a trip for when they actually received the order. When I brought it to the girl at the desk (different from the one that is the problem) I got more "Umm...unfortunately" nonsense from her. I actually felt bad for the girl that was doing the work trying to find my order. Rather than letting this employee know what I thought about her multi colored hair and poor customer relations skills I just walked out. read more
