After months of relentless pain and countless treatments, Peak Performance delivered On a Friday, I saw Sean for an adjustment. He is unrivaled in depth, executed with preternatural adeptness. I returned that evening for a ~90‑minute acupuncture session with Eliza. Her care was attentive, personal, and calibrated in intensity; she incorporated cupping and used a range of needles, including fire needles, while explaining flow of chi, my body's signals, and noting where mine was blocked. The next morning, less than 18 hours later, I returned to see Sean. The cumulative work of the prior evening had brought my body closer to baseline. Contrast that to my exhausting routine at home involving weekly and biweekly visits to The Joint Chiropractic (including an office that does occipital lift for migraines), top-ranked massages, frequent cupping (2-4 times/week), and packs and packs of Salon Pas and mug wort patches. On Saturday morning, I strained my neck playing tennis and was in pain. I needed instant relief and was calling around to see who's open. We were lucky enough to find Peak Performance, one of the few chiros that was still open at 1PM on a weekend. Dr. Sean was very knowledgeable and was able to pinpoint which muscle and bone group on my neck and shoulders was causing the issue. Most chiros will just do some fancy stuff like put some heat pads on you and just adjust where you need. But Dr. Sean gave me the adjustment of my life. My soul basically left my body as he worked on me from head to toe, literally. He showed me what a real adjustment is and all the chiro I've ever been to is nowhere near his level of expertise. The pain on neck and shoulders subsided at least 70% after my first session. He then told me to ice it over the weekend, I'll be a bit sore, and to come back for 1 more session to be completely fixed. He's basically a prophet because I just went for my second session today and I'm back to bring a normal person. I'll likely still feel a bit sore since all the bones in my body was adjusted, but this is a good thing! If you want a real adjustment and target every part of your body, Dr. Sean is your guy. At the end of treatment I was buzzing with so many endorphins I must've levitated back to my truck because my feet didn't touch the ground once. I jump started my truck just by touching it. Didn't hit a single red light on the way home, and my Landcruiser doubled its gas mileage. All my energy was flowing so well I'm worried he may have reversed my vasectomy. Everything was so well aligned, when I got home, even my microwave and oven clocks were synced. Wow. Just wow. Long story: I had an acute injury to my lumbar spine with MRI confirmed disc bulges between L4/L5/S1. I couldn't walk. Sitting was painful and the drugs I was prescribed by my primary care physician couldn't even take the edge off. Three days later, still in incredible pain, I was at parent teacher night at my kids's school and happened to be sharing my injury experience with another parent. I mentioned that I've been looking for a chiropractor with a distraction table and she recommended Peak Performance due to her experience with her 4(!) herniated discs. That night I researched the clinic and committed to waking up in the morning and parking outside their door to ambush them for immediate service. I was warmly greeted by Brooke and filled out the quick paperwork. Within 20 minutes, Dr. Sean McTaggart brought me back and asked a bunch of questions to determine how best to help. I walked him through my issue and shared my history with Chiropractic work. He read the MRI report and then set me up in the distraction table to start the treatment. I am very thankful to Dr. Sean. Wednesday evening, I went to stand up and my back locked up making it painful to stand upright. I didn't sleep well that night and moved gingerly at work. I knew from experience more muscles would get tight if I didn't get it fixed. I called Dr. Sean and he was able to see me right away. I found him thank God! You see, I have a terrible back with bulging disc's and mild case of scoliosis. Recently to add to my pain my Siatica started hurting on the right side of my back shooting down my buttocks and leg area. I am also a diabetic with neuropathy. That being said, I called Peak performance and spoke with a nice young lady named Brooke, I explained my Dilemma about my sciatica and Brooke assured me her doctor could help me, they deal with sciatica pain on a daily basis. I made an appointment to see the doctor. My hopes were not very high since I've seen chiropractors in the past many years ago without and luck. I arrived and was seen right away. The dr has a unique and friendly way of relating to his prospective patients. I started to feel he totally understood the pain I was feeling. I asked him if he could help me out and give me some relief from this daily pain I live with? He said yes, and with some surprise moves and techniques he started to prove his point. I've always had a hard time bending over yet when he was done with me, I was able to bend over get my shoes and place them on my feet. What a difference in such a short time. He let me know, I would need to continue the treatments a few More weeks until I am totally loosened up. He also said that I would probably hurt for the next few day but then I will feel much better. I said okay, I believe if I don't feel Pain he is not treating the area of pain. "No pain no gain" he was correct I was sore the next two days yet I felt fantastic, I could finally bend over to pick up after my dog. I was 95 % better and it lasted about 7 days. I just had my second treatment, I am looking so forward to the next three days or so after the soreness goes away. I am so glad I found Dr. Sean he has been the only Dr to truly relieve my horrible back pain. If your looking for the best Chiropractor you just found him. Sharing my personal experience since I rely on these reviews to find good care! First off- Sean is amazing and took the time to meet me and go over what he does before I started seeing him which really stood out to me. He truly wanted to fix my neck issues, and wanted me to feel better. He likes telling jokes and I could tell he enjoys what he does. The front desk staff are so kind and sweet and I always felt comfortable there (5 stars there!). That said, Sean explained to me that he only works on bones- I had previously gone to someone who did fascia release and adjustments and often included a heating pad and a tens unit before adjusting. At this practice, I experienced only adjustments. I saw Sean about 4-5 times and I was hoping the releases would help my neck- however my neck was not improving. Each adjustment was quick, so the wait is often longer than the time spent with the chiropractor. The adjustments were strong. I believe at that time I needed something to release the muscles or a different approach, because my neck eventually locked up and the pain was the worst I have ever experienced. I am not sharing this to deter clients from this practice. I am sharing this because if I might have read a review like this, it would have helped me make a more informed decision at that time. I use Yelp a lot, so the more information the better. Everyone is different and has different needs. Hopefully this is helpful! read more

What can I say about Dr. Tarr...... He truly is one of a kind and really does care about how his patients feel. I have a herniated disc (in L4, L5 & SI) and have had sever back pain for 8 years. I had seen other chiropractors who were honestly thieves and told me to come back so often I felt as if I was there every day....and man does that add up. I am sadly moving out of the Bay Area, but when I come back to visit I will make a point to see my him to say "hi" to my friend and thank him for getting my back under control.
