Thank goodness Safeway is open. Also, Safeway carries these emergency phone chargers that are pre-charged for four hours. I have been wanting to purchase these for so long because I just have a problem for some reason with having a dying phone on me at all times. How does one simply check into all of the places when their phone is always threatening to turn off? Not anymore with this emergency charger. At least that's what I'm hoping to happen. If this magical box ends up working well for me, I will buy several more.

I say this because upon entering it's like a food court, as first you see Teapresso Bar with full offerings of drinks you then see an insane selection of baked goods more than some small bakeries offer along with plate lunch, smoked meat, pizza and even roast pork handing under the warmer...all this before I enter the grocery sections you see graduation leis, UH merchandise and various grab and go treats as well. It's a beautiful supermarket that nice and clean very well organized with displayed items neatly placed and the vibe here is just so calm and friendly I was just very impressed with it all knowing that I can purchase items already made before entering to shop is quite deceiving and tempting but is nice to know for busy folks that they do have you covered whether you're in a rush or just need a single ingredient this is the place to go and support all things local. Target Stores have been doing this for years. It's organized- staff are hustling around. There were a few "shoppers" (for online orders)- very focused. They don't make eye contact - maybe so people like me don't ask them questions I did self checkout. I put my bag on the checkout area - which alerted the staff to come. Right at the entrance, they had most of the Thanksgiving essentials displayed, which was actually really cool. And of course, I had to splurge on an Oreo house-making kit just for the fun of it. Even though they were completely sold out of turkey, we managed to grab all of our Thanksgiving sides before heading over to Safeway for the final ingredient, our big turkey. They've got great holiday items right now to splurge on so buyer beware and don't spend all your money at once! All in all, I was really grateful Walmart was still open when we went. I just wish they stayed open a little longer for us late-night shoppers! Also, they have the most charming mural at the front entrance.

They had variety musibis where they use to put tuna or ume in them which I loved eating both when my mom use to buy us for breakfast!!! Their bentos use to be very good too! I remember their rolled eggs which was my fav to eat. Over the years they added spam To it which I didn't eat because I don't eat pork anymore! Their bentos also changed too! Anyway-poke employees were extremely pleasant and speedy with packing orders.. Cashiers great as always.. ridiculously long lines but they kept it moving. I have 2 favorites -- Tuesday & Thursday.   I eat it practically every week and you'd never guess when you see it! Tuesday is the BBQ Bowl -- You get ypur choice of meat, rice, and a side (banchan). I always get the smoke meat with pickled onion on rice. The smoked meat has plenty smoked taste, just enough fat, and it's not tough (you know what I mean).  The pickled onion is the perfect compliment!   Love the bite and the vinegar taste -- cuts though and brings it all together!   They give you quite a bit in the bowl.  Definitely enough to make me smile!    Again ---- $6.00!!!!! Thursday is another winner in my book.   It's noodle day!!!  I used to get the Mega which had everything in it.   It was a special that they had at the beginning but it's been discontinued.  I think the only one I'm not too crazy about is the curry.   I know some like it -- but having watery curry with noodles is just not me.   The rest are pretty good.   They warm up the noodles right there and add all the goodies on top.  It's take out so they give you the hot broth in another container ---- perfect so your noodles don't get soggy!   I think it's a great 'buy and eat later' meal! Also, I love that it's open and available at the time that I'm available. I will have to say that being here at 5 AM with nobody in the building but myself and probably a few associates, made it extremely cold? Or am I just not used to AC anymore? It was actually unbearably cold that I had to leave after sometime because I was getting so uncomfortable, it hurt. But then again, this is someone who used to live in Texas and needed to always have a 66° AC to someone who now lives in a space with absolutely no AC. So take this with a grain of salt. This is probably my favorite Safeway I've ever been to and I've been to several in the country during my travels. It's a shame that I only started checking in seriously this year! I highly recommend this location for good finds and for being very well organized. It makes me want to shop more. I also found some fun items in their international section that I've never seen before. I will obviously be back!
