I took my two girls for a group lesson and it's was a blast. The guide was really friendly and joked around with the kids making fun Dad jokes. At one point a little girl in our group teared up in fear and he stopped what he was doing, gave her the gentile reassurance and encouragement she needed to go forward. It was a really wonderful experience. The weather was beautiful, the two wranglers were fun and informative and the ride peaceful and relaxing. Everyone had a great time. The horses were so well trained and I was paired with Rosie who was a perfect match for me. I spent time after the ride exploring some of the other horses. The wranglers knew every horse by name, their quirks, who their buddies were and and their personalities. I joined a group as a single and felt like part of the group. I did the 90 minute private ride with Cameron and it was amazing! He is very knowledgeable about the land and it's heritage. Unfortunately the wild horses didn't want to cooperate with our ride so we only saw two instead of the entire heard but I did have the opportunity to see a few jack rabbits and a red tail hawk up close! Cameron also took the time to describe in great detail the different vegetation and animal dwellings during our ride. I would highly recommend the private ride! read more

This was my husbands and my second time coming here and we love it! We did the 90 minute group ride. Sydney was our guide and she was so fun! Knowledgeable about the history of the land, very friendly which made the ride a lot more fun. My husband is a novice rider and their horses are wonderful for him. I wanted to take my 7 year-old nephew on his first horseback ride and, based on all of the good reviews from this site and Trip Advisor, I chose this place. We opted for the a private Horsemanship 101 lesson. Our instructor, Blos, showed us how introduce ourselves to our horses, groom them and put on their tack. Then, we got a 15-20 minute lesson in the arena and we were off to the trail. No nose-to-tail trail riding here. Blos only took lead of my nephew's horse, Butch, when we crossed the creek because he thought Butch might be too interested in playing in the water. Butch still managed to stomp across the creek and splash all of us which was both funny and refreshing. Blos was very attentive and patient with my nephew and the horses were beautiful and well-trained. I had a great time, my nephew said it was the best thing he's ever done and as we drove away, we were already planning our next visit. read more

Sylvia was great!! We had a family riding in our group with 3 young children, the whole family had never ridden before. Our group of 3 had some riding experience and she matched the horses and equipment to the level or rider experience wonderfully. The entire 90 minutes went off without a hitch. The grounds are beautiful, great big lawn, beautiful mountains, would be a great location for an event as well. We will definitely come back on our next visit. read more

This is definitely a four star business. The wranglers and horse trainers are awesome! The ride was beautiful,me and my family loved it.we had some problems with the horses,the horse my mom was riding was very stubborn and wouldn't do what she said. That's the only bad thing I can really say about the place. I came here for an evening event, so I can't comment on the horse rides, but I can say that I had a great experience. The group I was with took a horse drawn hay ride out to this center for dinner. The setting was beautiful with all white cloth table cloths, lights strung all around for great lighting, excellent food and really good drinks. Disaster...I opted for the horse back riding as part of our activity for the afternoon during a work event. To be clear, I have never been on a horse and had no idea how to control the horse. The workers did not give any good instruction, it was about 2 minutes of showing to pull - left, right, woah. Then they set us off on a trail that was hilly...with a group of 25 people and horses and all ranges of experience. I admit that I did not have a clue...but that being said, it would have been a better situation if they spent time for instruction and let you practice controls before sending you out the range. I got thrown off...yes. Scary stuff. Not pleasant, and never again. The good thing was that they did send someone to pick me up and drive me back, but I would have walked back if I had to. read more

I had a private sunset trail ride with Roger. He was fantastic the ride was beautiful and nothing like any other ride I have ever been on. We rode next to eachother and he told me all about the land, the reservation and his life there. He was so happy to be there which made me enjoy it that much more! My horse was very responsive to my cues and was super smooth! I have been riding for 10 years and own my own horses. I can for sure say these horses are happy and well cared for! We have gone for many trail rides across America and Canada. Koli provides an entirely different experience, and is the best place to ride we've found anywhere. Their rides are more open. Rather than having the horses in a tight line where all you stare at is the horse in front of you's butt, the ride is more open where you truly experience the Arizona Desert in all of it's beauty. I've been coming out here for over a year for rides and instruction and can't say enough good about them. I went out this week for instruction in the arena and a trail ride. I was visiting my friend in Mesa, and had never ridden in the desert. We booked the private ride,as I had no real interest in riding in a large group or with beginners. Best ride EVER. My huge Clyde was well trained and I look slender in the pictures. Seriously,our guide Blaus is an excellent horseman and knows this land. WILD HORSES cautiously approached us! We saw a week-old foal ! 1 and1/2hrs went by so fast. Next time I visit my friend, I will definitely do this ride again. People were so friendly and helpful. read more

What a wonderful experience, especially for my first time riding a horse. Our wrangler, Robert, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and made sure we were entertained and comfortable at all times. As a former history major, I truly appreciated the dearth of information Robert offered on the history of the land, the Pima and Maricopa tribes, and about horses themselves. My girlfriend, a lifetime equestrian herself, was most excited to see the wild horses. As promised, Robert delivered in spades! We were able to see a large herd of wild horses grazing in the field and learned a great deal about their history in the area. The ride was smooth (besides my almost falling), we managed to see other wildlife (a hare, a cottontail rabbit, and a huge hawk), and the horses were beautiful and well-behaved. I couldn't recommend this place more for groups of all sizes! And I highly recommend requesting Robert as a wrangler, though I'm sure the other wranglers are lovely as well. read more

This place is AMAZING. Robert our wrangler was very knowledgeable and very kind. The horses are very well kept and great for all level of riders. Our 6 year old was extremely nervous. 2 minutes into the ride she was at ease and full of confidence. My husband, son and I had a private 90 minute ride with Morgan this morning. We had been riding at a Tanque Verde ranch all week in the beginning half of our vacation but I have to say without a doubt that this was the best ride of the week. It is well run, the horses are healthy and the ride was not a nose to tail ride. Morgan was a great wrangler and we were lucky enough to see several coyotes and the resident herd of wild mustangs.
