We went on a beautiful hike in the Tonto National Forest. I would describe this hike as easy and maybe about an hour and a half long. It can be a bit narrow at times so there were moments where we had to wait for others to pass. Everyone was kind and thoughtful though. The views are breathtaking and the highlight of our day: the wild horses!! Totally recommend it.

View as you walk up the cement path to the Pueblo

We loved this place. The views were amazing. Stepping back in time to the past was so interesting. The Pueblo was a real insight into how people lived way back. The rangers were a fountain of knowledge. Things to know is that there is a climb to get to the Pueblo high above in the rock cliff. I am 60 and fairly fit it wasn't too tough for me but anyone with reduced mobility should perhaps enjoy the view from a distance. Let your eyes do the walking! There are excellent picnic tables and shelters just as you enter the road to the visitors cntr.We had lunch there enjoying the view. Allow about 2 hours for the walk up the path and visit to the Pueblo. Once up the hillside the view of the lake hills and cactus is fabulous. Highly recommend this park.

These beautiful wild horses of Arizona

We had heard there are still wild horses in Arizona & they are at Tonto National Forest so we thought we'd just take a chance & see if we'd find any. The first little park we saw them. It was crazy! All these beautiful wild horses just hanging out. So cool! We drove down further to Coon Bluff and met a photographer who talked about the horses and the best areas to find them. We hiked down to the river and found a group about 5 or 6. It was very cool to see them. I hope Arizona doesn't follow Montana & start slaughtering them.

Awesome mountain biking north of Las Sendas in the Tonto National Forest. It's like a giant DIY rollercoaster lined with sharp things.
