I'm a beekeeper, so I'm not a fan of spraying any sort of chemicals in my yard or around my house that can negatively impact the ecosystem of flying insects in my yard; however, when yellowjackets took up residence in a gap in our siding, right next to our main door, I had to take action. I tried spraying a wasp spray, into the crack about 5 feet above the door but it only killed the wasps I hit and didn't impact the nest. So I called Kolley's and spoke with Gene. He's a professional. He came the next day at 7pm and treated the nest, as well as a paper wasp nest that took up residency in an old iron railing. I had some crawl-y bugs in my home and messaged Kolleys on yelp. After an initial response from them I sent a picture of the insect. They explained what it was and that it was seasonal and would go away soon and how to improve the situation until then. The owner took time to help us out when there was no financial incentive. I less scrupulous person could have come and sprayed our home and gotten a payday out of it. You have to appreciate a company that is really out there to help people and not just grab every possible dollar that they can from scared folks. Found a huge swarm of insects out of nowhere in my yard and freaked out as I have a 3 year old that gets into everything in the yard. We called them on a Sunday and left a voicemail and someone called me back within an hour. They came out the next morning and took care of a yellowjacket nest in the ground in the middle of our yard. Very friendly and efficient service, and reasonable fee. They also promise to come back if the wasps are not totally gone from the nest within 5 days, however we did not need to call them back as they seemed to have all flown away by the end of the day. read more

I feel like a review for an exterminator should be tucked away in a quiet, dark corner of Yelp, but I was so impressed with this company I shall forge ahead in the new format anyway. A year or so ago I put up a bird feeder in my yard where I could see it from my kitchen window. I loved watching the birds, especially the colorful Cardinals. But we have lots of trees and shrubs in our yard and we are half a block from the woods and eventually some "undesirable guests" started coming by to eat the bird seed that spilled on the ground. I was in denial for a while that "these rodents" could be in my yard. This morning though I couldn't try to ignore the problem anymore and got a recommendation for an exterminator. I called Kolley's and the pleasant woman who answered explained to me what they would need to do and the cost. The price for an initial visit and weekly follow-up for 30 days was very reasonable. She said she would see if she could get me an appointment for that afternoon. There was one available and she gave me the timeframe. About a half an hour later the phone rang and our service technician asked if he could come by early, in about 10 minutes. Yes, of course--we don't have to sit and wait all afternoon! Our technician listened to our problem and looked around our yard, then reassured us that our "undesirable guests" were almost certainly not also in the house as we would have noticed evidence of their presence. Oh, thank you, thank you. He was very careful about where he placed baits in the yard as we have dogs and also our grand-daughter is a frequent visitor. He comes back for the next few weeks to check everything and do what he needs to do (don't ask cause I'm not sure and really don't want to know). Had to call and remind them after initial visit that they were scheduled to come for follow up appointments. Never resolved what kind of pest, rat, possum other was digging under our porch. Even had to call and remind them so I could pay bill. Tech who intermittently showed up was a nice guy but the business wasn't professional. A very nice guy came out to our home 1st time on schedule and as agreed. He actually did a very thorough job around the full perimeter of our home exterior and interior. I was promised a free follow-up visit after 30 days was told just needed to call to schedule it. I called to schedule the visit and was told by the lady on the line that there would be a $65 dollar fee for the follow-up visit. I advised that we were told that there would "NOT" be a charge for the follow-up and that we should get what was promised. After a few words back and forth, the fee was waived. I then scheduled the follow-up visit. I took off work on the scheduled date and waited and waited but the guy never showed up and with no phone call. I called the company sometime later on and advised that the rep never showed up for our free follow-up as scheduled. The guy I spoke with (different guy) over the phone was very rude, arrogant and really nonchalant about the whole ordeal and advised that because it has been over the 30 days I am no longer eligible for the free follow-up and that to have someone come out again I would need to pay another $165. I advised him that because of his unapologetic, nonchalant and down right rude attitude I will simply take my business some place else. I was "NOT" trying to get free service here folks, I only wanted what was right and promised or at least an apology or something in between. I think this guy missed out on an opportunity to hold on to a potentially very good and loyal, long-term customer. All I will say is..... Needing a new company to inspect for termites a friend gave me the info on Kolley's. I made an appointment for last February and when the tech came to the house he said he didn't know why they made a termite appointment for February since you don't check for termites until May when they get active. I was surprised and a bit annoyed to have wasted his time and my time. As requested I rescheduled for May and was again given the 2 hour window for the appointment. I got up and waited, and waited and surprise no one ever showed. When I called Kolley's office I was told that they had no appointment on the books and I'd have to reschedule. I was pissed but decided to give them one more chance. I requested an exact time appointment since I had now already experienced their window of time appointment twice and still hadn't had service. The receptionist said they couldn't do this it wasn't their policy. I tried to be the nice guy and went ahead with another appointment for the following week. Once again I was up and waiting and guess what... NO ONE EVER SHOWED. I just called the company and tried to speak to a manager but unfortunately they weren't in the office. I explained the situation to the receptionist and told her how angry and dissapointed I was and they had just lost a potential client. She wanted me to reschedule and I said only if I have an exact time appointment as I would no longer wait. "Sorry but that's not our policy" Well you know what... it's not my policy to use companies that have no respect for their client's time and who clearly don't want new business. read more
