This is an infuriating review to write, as I have been dealing with this mouse infestation and BC…read moreExterminating since July 18 of 2025 and it is now January 16 of the following year with no solution. I spent a whopping $1,690.70 for BC Exterminating to clear our house of mice with a 60 day warranty that they would come and re-treat the house at the first sign of any droppings or mice. This warranty would start over from the most recent sign of mice. At first, they appeared diligent and competent with outdoor poison boxes and closing out any entrances to the house. They promised "color coded poisons" that would show us where the mice nested by the color of their droppings. (I've never seen a mouse dropping other than black). They promised "escalated poisons" if the mice refused to eat the first round. They said "this works, we've got it". Always, within a few weeks of the most recent visit, I would find new droppings throughout the house. A mouse skittered across our floor during dinner. Another one ran just past my feet as I got ready for bed. I would discover my three year old playing on the ground next to a fresh scattering of mice droppings. I only ever saw two dead mice in my house since the beginning of the treatment; one was in a glue trap we'd previously set, and the other in a snap trap near our garage. To their credit, every time I called, BC Exterminating did follow their own warranty and come to the house - always after a scheduling shuffle so that I could work from home to meet them during the window, which became a dance of its own. There started to be a shift in tone when I noted that this still wasn't working and asked what the next step was. It was now November, winter was coming. Still friendly as ever, they'd wander through the house, say "well, I don't see any mice", or "I don't see how they could be getting in", and then would leave. They started saying things that didn't make sense, like "those look like old mouse droppings" under my desk, which had just been vacuumed, or "maybe you moved some boxes and they were in there", when I knew I hadn't. I spent all of our Thanksgiving weekend clearing every closet, cleaning every corner, trying to find their nest, as BC Exterminating wasn't up for the job that I had spent so much on. There were still mice. Eventually the visits felt more social than substantive. They'd replace one empty glue trap with another, or put more poisons out, but with a reassuring, "I promise they'll be gone by the holidays", they'd leave. I'd joke that the exterminators were my roommates. They'd laugh, I'd laugh, and the mouse issue remained. The warranty was just a burden on my schedule - no success at getting rid of the mice. When I finally asked for a refund this morning, they refused and suggested two last visits, finally breaking the terms of the (ineffective) warranty. I'm at my wits end. I have two small kids and spend most of my life chasing mice instead of a company that I hired to do it for me. I'm vacuuming, chasing away any food I find, and unable to trust this company that said "listen, we know it's hard, but we can handle it". Sadly, they can't. Their services might work for you, but know that if they don't solve the problem in the first round, you have no recourse, no opportunity for a refund, and will host them in your home in perpetuity. Update: unfortunately, BC Exterminators has responded with incorrect assessments of our end of the bargain. More than one deep clean was completed of the entire house, and let me tell you, there is no money that could give back my time for every time I pulled every bookshelf off of the wall, or every toy out of an old toy bin, or every towel and sheet out of the linen closet, only to discover droppings later. Oswaldo - and later Brandon - reassured me that they could get the mice, that kids are messy, that this would be figured out. Every time I texted BC Exterminators it was like talking to a boyfriend who couldn't understand why sleeping over at his ex's house was such a big deal. Every mouse dropping "was probably old, have you considered a deep clean?" (even the ones in the middle of the floor, right after our housekeepers had left.) Every mouse "was probably the last one". We asked for advice every time. I asked if I should throw away furniture. I asked if we should move. Every time they downplayed it. And to be abundantly clear, I have trusted Oswaldo and the many other exterminators who arrived to enter our house without us there, but that's because for a while I was seeing them more often than my parents. Ultimately, I was not paying them for their company, I was paying to get rid of mice, and I can accurately say there are still mice in my home.

I did not know it when I hired BC, but despite what they said, anticoagulant rodenticide *does harm…read moreand kill* unintended animals. ( BC just commented on this - they did not complete the job correctly, they were not honorable as described. What I am saying here is in fact true and there's a lot you can research on why not to use rodenticides or any poison, or glue traps. They don't solve the problem and cause horrific suffering unnecessarily.) When rodents - mice, rats, even chipmunks, or smaller squirrels - eat the bait, they don't die quickly. They die over several days, 3 to 5 days actually, getting slower as they get sicker. This makes them easy prey for all sorts of predators, such as owls, eagles, hawks, dogs, cats, foxes, and many more. The way to stop rodents from getting into your house is to find and thoroughly seal all access points. Once that has been done, you can use snap traps or the bucket method to catch any rodent that were inside when the openings were sealed. District Wildlife Solutions is excellent at that, and because they are Humane, they are Recommended by City Wildlife, DC's Wildlife Rehab nonprofit. We should never use poison, it causes horrific pain, suffering, and death, not only to the rodents, but to animals both up and down the food chain. BC and most pest companies say that the poison only impacts rodents, and that's flat out wrong. Always avoid poison. To research it, ask for the specific name of the poison and google it along with "secondary poisoning." Several cities and countries have banned rodent poison because it is an indiscriminate killer, and if you don't see the entry points, other roads will continue to get in. So rat poison doesn't solve the problem and it causes a lot of problems. If you don't know that your dog or cat has eaten a poisoned sick/dead rodent, by the time you get them to the vet, it's usually too late. Have you seen foxes with mange? That is often caused by foxes eating poisoned rodents. Just make sure your building doesn't have openings that are access points, and you will protect our native wildlife and domestic pets. Don't let BC or other companies say that genocide or glue traps solve the problem, they do not, and they cause horrific suffering to both rodents and non-target animals.

We personally don't like using glue traps as they are inhumane and stated our preference for spring traps instead. Furthermore, today I found a centipede and one of the areas where he said at he sprayed, which as of this writing is less than 2 weeks after the service.

Then proceeds to take a look for 5 minutes in my finished basement and does nothing in terms of patching or any other solution. Doesn't bother to look again at the exact spot the snake previously was. When asked if there are the possibilities for others was summarily dismissed. He chose not to inspect the upstairs for penetration points or the attic if other snakes would be present. We proceed outside, points out a very obvious hole between the brick and a joint for the deck. Then walks around points out the possibility of entering where wires from the AC unit run, but does nothing to address. Walks around and gets "distracted" by fruit trees 50 ft away from the house and says "yeah i get distracted easy" Then proceeds to tell me to patch the hole and to call him back if anything enters. All of this in under 20 min. Went with him based on yelp reviews but did not get anywhere near value for a inspection/setup fee.

I had the most wonderful experience with Jeff. I was looking for a non-toxic exterminator for household bugs - ants, earwigs, silverfish, etc. With small kids at home, safety was my #1 priority. A good friend of mine recommended Jeff - citing his incredible work and his care in working with young families and extensive knowledge of and experience with organic products. I contacted Jeff but was disappointed to find that he was not legally permitted to service my area. He gave me a referral and offered to answer any questions I had. I called another exterminator and got a quote from them. Then I texted the information to Jeff. Jeff called not once, not twice, but THREE times to make sure to connect with me to share his opinion and make sure I was getting the right services And not being overcharged. Again -- there was no chance he was making money off of me. He just cared!!! How rare is that today?!! To find a professional who spent his own time just helping out a stranger he spoke to once on the phone?!? I was blown away by his professionalism and his absolute genuine concern in helping me solve my pest problem. Incredible!!! Envirotreat Pest Control is a family owned business. I have been using this company for the past 5 years. They treated our old house in Ijamsville, Fredrick county, they are now treating our new house in Damascus area. They also treat my mom's house in Germantown and a few friends and family members in Rockville, MD area. I am extremely happy with their service and prices. They are very flexible with their schedule (days/evenings/weekends) and their price is much much lower than anyone else around this area. Before I started using them, I was looking for a pest control company and they were going to charge me with a consulting fee, weekend fee, and/or evening fee. This company is flexible and does not charge any of these extra fees. They are courteous, professional, customer friendly and most importantly their products work! I had a reoccurring ant problem of epic proportions that I tried unsuccessfully to battle myself for years. When I had finally had enough I searched for a company that used environmentally friendly pest control methods. This is how I came to contact Envirotreat. Jeff Belmont came out and met with me, discussed some options and they did an interior and exterior treatment. It took a second interior treatment and since then I haven't seen an ant inside! That was FOUR years ago! I have the quarterly exterior treatment and I couldn't be happier with the service. I'm contacted via email to confirm appointments and pay invoices which is convenient and effortless. They also routinely check in to see if I'd like interior service. We have been using Envirotreat for years to treat our annual invasion of carpenter bees at our home. We have had a wonderful experience each time Jeff and the Envirotreat team has come out. They always have excellent, friendly communication and phenomenal service. I live in a neighborhood where everyone is knocking down houses and rebuilding. What is happening is that mice/rats clammer to find a safe haven, especially in my yard under my tool shed next to the house. I could not get rid of them. Someone told me about Envirotreat pest Control and what a good job the company did for him. I called them and they were out the next day. They are working on the problem diligently. I have seen a significant drop in the hundreds of rodents in this area and I can trust they will keep doing what is needed until the problem is solved. Envirotreat has done a great job handling our pest control needs ever since we moved into our new house in a more rural area of Gaithersburg/Damascus. We were surprised at the number of bugs and critters we had to deal with in our new location. After trying some competitors, Jeff and his crew proved to be the best. I like that they use organic, non-toxic products that keep the bugs out but don't expose my family and animals to harmful chemicals. Jeff and his team are very professional and friendly, and are always available if we have any acute needs that need attention. Jeff runs a professional and personal business. As a Naturopathic Doctor and mom of three young children, our family enjoys a natural and healthy lifestyle. If I could give this company half a star, I would. I rarely leave reviews, but after months of…read morefrustration, poor communication, scheduling failures, and ongoing concerns about workmanship, I feel obligated to share my experience in hopes of helping other homeowners avoid the same ordeal. I initially contacted Senate Pest Control after hearing what I believed was a squirrel in my attic. My first impression was excellent. The inspector who came to my home was phenomenal--professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and exactly the type of representative that gives customers confidence they selected the right company. Unfortunately, everything seemed to go downhill after the initial traps were installed. The very next morning, I received a call around 8:00 a.m. asking me to place a credit card on file for attic remediation services that had not yet been performed. Although I provided the information, I was uncomfortable being asked for payment arrangements before the work had even begun. During that same call, I requested that a manager contact me regarding several concerns. As of the date of this review, I am still waiting for that callback. That request was made in March. The scheduling issues that followed were relentless. During the trapping phase, I was routinely given appointment windows of 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It was considered a good day if a technician arrived by 6:30 p.m. The repeated disregard for appointment windows demonstrated a complete lack of respect for customers' time. Once trapping was completed, patchwork repairs were scheduled. The technician arrived with a 20-foot ladder only to discover that a 30-foot ladder was needed, forcing the appointment to be rescheduled. The repair was then rescheduled for a Saturday morning between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. No one showed up. No phone call. No email. No explanation. When I called first thing Monday morning, I was casually informed that the appointment had been rescheduled and that someone would return the following Saturday. No one had bothered to notify me. Eventually, the patchwork was completed. Because the repairs were performed at a height that I could not personally inspect, I requested photographs of the completed work. Despite multiple requests, I never received them. Even after the patching and sealing work was supposedly completed, the traps remained in my attic for approximately three additional weeks because of scheduling issues, late arrivals, and repeated rescheduling. Attic remediation was eventually scheduled for April 22 with an arrival window of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Instead, workers arrived around 7:00 a.m., forcing me to scramble and make unexpected arrangements for my daughter. While the crew unloaded materials into my driveway, I noticed the insulation they intended to install. It appeared worn and weathered. More concerning, the packaging indicated an R-38 rating despite my contract specifically calling for R-49 insulation. When I questioned the discrepancy, I was told the R-38 insulation was only being installed over the attic access hatch. That explanation was unacceptable. My contract clearly specified R-49 insulation, and I expected the materials outlined in our agreement to be used. Had I not happened to notice the insulation myself, I would never have known there was a discrepancy between what was being installed and what was specified in my contract. After significant back-and-forth discussions, the remediation had to be rescheduled. Approximately two weeks later, the remediation was completed. After the crew left, I discovered fiberglass insulation scattered throughout my basement utility room, including around my HVAC equipment. I immediately contacted the company. To my astonishment, I was asked whether I could simply sweep it up myself. The issue was never whether I was physically capable of cleaning the insulation. The issue was determining why insulation from an attic remediation project was appearing in my basement and whether there was an underlying problem creating a potential safety concern. After expressing my concerns, a technician was dispatched to my home carrying nothing more than a dustpan. Upon seeing the amount of insulation present, he stated, "Oh, they didn't tell me it was this much insulation," and left without performing any work. Once again, I had to request managerial intervention. Another crew was eventually scheduled to return and address the issue. As of the writing of this review, I am still awaiting a permanent resolution. I have attached photographs showing the insulation accumulation and what appears to be insulation coming from areas near the ductwork. Ok - then he parks and sits in his truck for a few minutes while I wait in my garage to greet him. He gets out and finishes his phone call, then when he is ready for me, we begin the estimate. He is telling me he would seal areas outside, then place boxes to trap mice. We do the same inside until I ask him, "Is the sealing included with your service?" He said no. I said I would need to hire a contractor, but am I supposed to be taking notes? He said yes. I told him I wish he had told me earlier - and he said it would cost $495. I asked for more details and he asked if I was ready to proceed. I told him I need a written estimate to discuss with my wife. I also told him I don't remember where he said I need to seal, so he said he would write it on the estimate. He takes out a 5x5 piece of paper and writes, "seal inside and outside." He rips the top page off and hands it to me. I crumbled it up and threw it away and thanked him for coming. I would not let this company touch my house.

STAY AWAY! Pest Now? Yes, that's what you'll have if you use them, pests now. Inspectors spend less than 5 minutes onsite, going through the motions. Barely spraying, not even making an attempt to understand the problem. To boot, their customer service is terrible and due to an error on their own payment system they sent a $100 bill to collections (thankfully I resolved it after days of waiting for a response). When I emailed to cancel my quarterly service I got a very straightforward response, they didn't even attempt to correct the problem or at the very least understand why I was cancelling. Do not use them. If you don't believe me, read the other reviews. I went with another local company for half the price and they have actually made it a point to understand and treat the problem.
