I had a rash/bites that my dermatologue could not distinguish whether were due to bites by an unknown bug or some other reaction. Initially, Jeff treated my house with the regular pest solution but also warned me that it was not effective to potential bird mites and if they were the problem, I may need a follow up targeted treatment that he would perform for free. He checked the perimeter of my house and pointed out other issues that may cause pests in the future. The treatment and overall assessment was through. I have an extreme bug phobia, and based on other reviews, I called up Jeff at Envirotreat and explained the situation (just moved to Silver Spring, summer was coming, I was absolutely panicked about getting roaches/spiders/beetles/ANYTHING in the house). He was immediately so understanding and comforting -- he used to be afraid of spiders, can you believe that? so he tooootally gets it -- and came out to give us an estimate, explaining all about environmentally friendly pesticides and all that jazz. Well, we gave the environmentally friendly spray a try, and it wasn't successful -- we still had bugs. So Jeff came back, at no charge, and re-sprayed around the house with the uber chemicals. Voila, no bugs, and the basement spiders started dying in droves. AMAZING. Now Jeff comes back quarterly to re-spray, and he always takes my concerns and fears VERY seriously. He has never belittled me or acted like I was annoying him or anything. He told me "if you see one spider in the house, don't call me yet; if you see two, call me immediately" and when I did, he came and re-sprayed within a couple of days, at no charge. What I'm trying to say is, I'm not *scared* of bugs, I have a serious, serious phobia of them, and Jeff gets it and makes me feel safe in my own home. I can't tell you how rare this is in an exterminator or how important it is for people like me who are just terrified of these horrible many-legged creatures. I also want to mention that Jeff is really good with dogs, and has been very conscious of our dogs all along. When he sprays for bugs, his rule is that we have to not have the dogs in the house for at least an hour to make sure they don't accidentally ingest any chemicals -- he takes no chances with our health OR our pets' health, and I really respect that. Finally, I want to mention that Jeff is just a really nice guy. He's respectful and I feel safe around him, even if I'm home alone. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: - Need a pest control company besides Envirotreat I definitely recommend other good competitive companies. Envirotreatpest is very inconsistent with their treatments yet paying the full price for every quarter they come out during the year. For example, Jeff (owner) staff will come and partially treat our house yet realizing that they had to treat the whole house. They talk a big game and yet continue to see insects and mice on the exterior and interior of the house. Also to be frank their messaging system sucks as two times I've cancelled service the same day (few hours before scheduled time) for personal reasons and yet they show up to my door treating the exterior of my house without my consent and even knowing if they've hit all areas. How can I trust them completing their work of they've done only partial work in my house? Right? When I asked Envirotreat to come back supposedly the 4th time after rescheduling they wanted to charge me $45. BullS**t!!! I told him to compensate for the times he never completed the full job around my house and Jeff decided not to. Also have to add that a few others in the Clarksburg neighborhood have negative comments for different reasons. I'm honestly a nice guy and let things go in life but this time it is worth my while to write this long review suggesting never to use this company. I honestly don't care how Jeff response to this message. Your future customers can move forward however you want to. I can't say enough about this vendor. My house was overrun with ants in the kitchen and bathroom. I had no idea where they were coming from and couldn't rely on products like Raid because I have pets. This gentleman came in, told us not to worry about it and to come back in an hour. In October 2019, Jeff came to our home to provide an estimate for a mouse problem. He sat his bag down on the floor and our little dog got a hold of rat poison in his bag. We had to take our dog to the emergency vet to save her life. Jeff sent us a check for half the vet fees and agreed via email to send a second check, but despite repeated emails we have not received the second check or an explanation. Was startled by a mouse in the kitchen of our rental home when I went downstairs for a midnight snack. Instantly reached out to the five nearest pest control companies on Yelp. Jeff was the first to respond in the morning and showed up the same day. He walked the property, explained what he saw, and offered his opinion. He provided me with an email report that I sent to the LL. Within a day Jeff and the LL worked out a deal to provide pest control services for the duration of the lease. I called Envirotreat after my dog got fleas. I called a few companies and decided to go with this one to support a local business. After a misdiagnosis from a vet, months had passed and our home was infested. I called Envirotreat and made an appointment. The owner, Jeff Belmont, showed up at my house early December. He explained the services, he said we need two treatements, the first he performed that day and the second he would come back in mid Decemeber to get the newly hatched fleas. Everything sounded good so I paid for both visits upfront. Two weeks later, I took the morning off from work, I dropped my dog and cat at the groomers ($80 visit) and went home and waited for Jeff. He never showed, I called several times that day and since then but he never called back. I emailed him too but no response. So today I had a friend call and ask for a quote, when Jeff called her she quickly gave me the phone. I told him who I was and that I wanted a refund. He got very nervous and quickly said "I issued a refund" and then HUNG UP. I do NOT recommend his company, I will call the BBB office and place a formal complaint. Agree with RD! My experience was even worse though. After a month of the owner telling me he would treat my exterior I finally gave in and canceled my service. That was 5 days ago. I found ants again inside and out side my house. Emailed the owner and the response was:"You did not let me complete my treatments at your home , you cancelled your contract because the exterior was not completed . That was last week , I honored your request. No questions asked. It has been several weeks since I have been inside your home which I bet you have no ants inside at all because if there you would be would be sending me a pictures of the inside asking for a refund. There are no ants In the inside .you canceled because we did not treat the exterior of your home , I might add their were record rains for the weeks following up to a treatment and after , all of my customers want the exterior serviced , I they receive it but you were impatient and would not wait. Now you have ants and you have to hire somebody else. I never treated the exterior therefore I am not responsible for the exterior because you canceled. I warn you to think again about how you treat people in the future, and secondly if I even hear a wink of a bad review our bad language towards my company I will bring legal action. Factor the matter is I can not legally treat the exterior of any home. When it is raining or is about to rain , or is oversaturated with water legally. And you send this message to be on Mother's Day, that says a lot ... Good day ." So now I am guessing that most "CUSTOMERS" don't really deal with this hassle but the choice is yours! read more

I was reluctant to hire an exterminator. I can put down traps and spray poison. But, after an ongoing ant infestation, my wife convinced me to look into a professional. That was several years ago. Jeff has been amazing at dealing with all manner of problems: ants, wasps, moths, critters crawling in the sub-basement, you name it. We always get friendly, effective service. Sent an email to the address that's on the website, but the email came back undelivered. Not sure if he went out of business. Update: STILL NO REFUND. Since Jeff terminated our contract three months ago, he has never returned any of the money he is legally obligated to return (we pre-paid $500 for a year long contract - as he requires - and he serviced us for two months before terminating the contract, and is now trying to keep the balance). As you can see in the postings above, he reads his reviews on Yelp and when he read ours, he did not dispute that he owed us a lot of money for services not rendered, but he lied about having issued a refund. Since his posting, we have still not received a refund check, which is not surprising given that he has a long pattern of stealing from clients. When we noted that he was lying and said that he needed to post a copy of the check to prove to us and readers of this site that he had actually issued the legally required refund, he disappeared and it is likely he won't come back on Yelp because he knows he has been exposed as a liar who routinely commits fraud. Jeff, if you ever have the integrity to read this and fix the situation, mail us the check now and we will post it to show that the refund was issued or mail us the check and take a picture of it and post it yourself. If you don't do that, you will be admitting to everyone who reads these reviews that you blatantly lied, never issued our refund for the ten months of work we paid for but you aren't doing, and that you are proudly running a fraudulent business. read more

Jeff, the owner of Enviro-treat, is a deeply dishonest business man and you should completely avoid using his services. We signed a year contract with Jeff, pre-paid our $500 (as required), he serviced our house for two months and then refused to provide any further service. We contacted him many times by email and phone and when we finally got hold of him, he said that he had received all of our messages but didn't feel the need to return our calls/emails. He admitted that he was legally obligated to give us a significant refund since he had only fulfilled two of the ten months of the contract (but already been paid for the entire year), but after 3 more months of requesting the refund with well over a dozen emails (none of which he replied to), we never received our money back. He also charged us over $100 for a product that he said was very expensive but when we looked online at amazon, it was less than ten dollars. He committed fraud against us and it turns out when we checked, he has done the same to many other customers and he has formal complaints filed against him with the Better Business Bureau of MD. I have lived in this area for decades and served at high levels in government and politics, and in all my years, I have hired dozens of contractors but have never found one this bad who is so blatant about stealing money from customers.
