We stayed here through Costco travel so we got a good deal at a very nice resort. The rooms were spacious, nice and clean. There were three pool options and I was worried they'd be busy with children running around, but there's so much space and options, it wasn't hard to find a pool chair and have some relaxing time. I enjoyed the free towels that we utilized the whole trip. We loved walking around the compound. For people that don't mind a walk, there's a great beach only a ten minute walk away. Close to many cute shops and places to eat. The people we interacted with were always so nice. They have many free activities all week. The service here was great but nothing about this resort that made it stand out. I may sound overly critical but it's partly because I've been to quite a few resorts. Why this resort is capped at 3-stars: 1. Only has ONE restaurant, with limited options. 2. Pools are okay, not ones to "ooh" or "ahh" about. 3. Just because there's a small kitchenette and full-sized washer/dryer doesn't mean the room looks any bigger. 4. Overpriced for what it offers. We came here 10 years ago for our honeymoon and the pools were just being built. Of course we had to come back with our two young kiddos so they can experience and probably ruin them forever on what a vacation in Kauai feels like. Hospitality is superb. When we arrived our room was ready quickly and loved being towards the back because it had quicker access to the pools and shaved ice. When you check in, each child receives a scavenger kit backpack filled with cute accessories and a map that they need to complete throughout the resort and in the end they will get a complimentary shaved ice. The holo holo grill food is incredible, especially their poke bowl, but their pizza was delicious as well. We went for breakfast there on our last day and boy oh boy was the French toast so flavorful. So don't hesitate, order from here!! The one thing I would be very careful with is making sure you take your time walking around. It does rain here and there so puddles do accumulate in certain spots. They have signs everywhere saying to be careful because you may slip. An employee even told me so many people have slipped even with the signs so just avoid those areas. They have mats scattered about but you can never be too cautious. I did slip and fall on my back, a guess came by to help me up but for a split second I thought the worse. I did report it to the hotel and just expressed how someone should be going around just pushing the water aside to prevent anyone falling. Overall though from that... our experience was delightful. The slides were a HUGE hit for us, and everyone enjoyed it of all ages. There is no lifeguard on duty... because the water doesn't go above 5 feet. There's a baby section where it starts off just above your ankles, then starts moving up slowly as you swim along. We did notice on the weekends that because no one is really watching around the older teenagers were jumping off the rocks and into the slide area making cannonballs which was scary if you have little ones nearby. We just moved along to keep ourselves safe. We loved the hotel store that sold breakfast burritos, acai bowls, etc and souvenirs that our kids were able to take home. The resort itself was very nice! We were disappointed to find that "garden view" meant a view of the parking lot. Had we known we would've paid for a better room. The pools were amazing and the Holoholo Grill was very good! They offer poolside service which is a fun perk, too. The Nachos are delicious!! I had the most healing experience with Hope at Koloa Landing Resort Spa. I returned for another treatment because the results were immediately positive. Hope has the best menu of options like "dry brushing" which gave me the smoothest, silky-soft skin and such a boost of energy, like I was 10 years younger! We stayed for 4 nights at the Koloa Landing Resort in Kauai, and just... wow. Simply put, one of the most amazing Marriott properties I have ever had the luck to stay at! We got upgraded to a two-bedroom suite, and the room was fantastic; everything was great quality and plenty of space for everyone. The full kitchen was great, and the welcome gift of chocolate-covered macadamia nuts was an awesome touch. We also had a washer and dryer in our suite, so that was a huge benefit! The pool was great (voted one of the best pools in America apparently, and never seemed crowded!) and while there was only one restaurant on property, the Holoholo Grill, it had a great selection of food - everything we had was delicious! It seemed that the resort is well kept up as well, with staff constantly cleaning and updating things. They were even doing work by one of the elevators while we were there, and the workers were super nice and respectful, even though we told them please don't stop working just because we're waiting on an elevator! Kauai was our favorite island by far, and the Koloa Landing Resort was a huge part of that. For the second half of our Honeymoon we flew into Kauai for 5 nights, and chose to revisit the Koloa Landing Resort as a sort of vacation from the first half of our vacation, and while it was rainier and windier than our previous visit, we still enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a one bedroom villa identical to our last stay. The villas are comfortable, and include a balcony with outdoor seating, full kitchen, dining area, living area, washer, dryer, shower and toilet in one room, and separated room and counter and sink with a bathtub. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The villas are probably some of the nicest I've ever stayed in. The Holoholo Grill located on site is still a gem, and the staff, particularly Nicky, and Dustin who we'd met during our previous stay and were pleased to see again, and Limar and Anthony who we met during this stay, really make staying at the Koloa Landing even more worthwhile. They are friendly, provide excellent customer service, banter, and drink, food, and even excursion recommendations available on site, and in the surrounding area. The villas really make you feel like you're staying at your own home, and the staff at the Holoholo grill make you feel like Hānai, or second family. We'll miss Kauai, the resort, but it's the people who make this place special most of all. read more

My wife and I stayed at Koloa Landing Resort last month for five nights as part of a Costco travel package. I had researched several Poipu resorts before booking, and Koloa Landing stood out for its strong reviews, impressive list of amenities, and what everyone said about the friendliness of the staff. It lived up to all of it. We had a great stay. The resort is comfortable, well maintained, and very easy to relax in. Our room wasn't overly fancy, but it was clean, spacious, and completely comfortable. The staff made a big difference -- everyone we met was friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. They took photos for us, answered questions, and made us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful. We didn't have as much time as we would've liked to enjoy the pools or explore more of the property since this was a short trip, but what we did experience was excellent. We would definitely come back and stay longer next time. Each morning we had breakfast from the little shop in the lobby. They offer breakfast sandwiches, croissants, muffins, coffee, and a few other options. We enjoyed sitting in the open-air lobby overlooking the gardens while we ate. We had a 5 star experience. #1: Kiana at concierge desk helped us plan a boat trip and fishing trip. She was excellent. We recommend taking the boat cruise up the coast. #2. We had a lovely stay in building 8. We enjoyed the one bedroom suite. Great corner balcony. The resort is a no frills kind of place - but drinks, food, service and grounds were all wonderful. So what if the property is a bit dated? I read that from several of reviews. Just because it is dated, doesn't mean that it isn't nice, clean and inviting. #3. Please keep in mind that when you're booking your trip that you consider these things. This is a family resort, so there are children everywhere. I would not recommend this resort if you're looking for a quiet private adult time... but there is an adult only pool. Nice touch. #4 Food by pool is good. Fries = yum. Poke bowl was fantastic. #5 we like the location, close to some shops and restaurants as well as the cliffs. There is no beach directly off of the resort just so you know. There are some tide pools on the lava rocks though. #6 this is a safe area. Overall, I really like this place. I would definitely come back, if they do a bunch of upgrades, it won't be as affordable as it is. Just keep it the way that it is. We had a great time. ----- Just an update, after the end of our trip. We finally were able to use one of the pools, specifically the tranquility pool. This is by far the best pool on the property in my opinion - because it is small with a very loud waterfall that is truly relaxing. And also has a small 3 foot hot tub. It is 18 years and older only. My only complaint is that there's no food service or towel service over by this pool. You must get your towels from the towel service that is located on the other side of the resort and then bring back all the towels yourself and drop them off to avoid getting a room charge. I think it would be appropriate to have a bin for fresh towels - and the an area to drop off used towels over here... for obvious reasons. read more

My husband and I arrived in Kauai on Thursday, excited for a long-awaited vacation with all of our activities booked for the week. We checked into Kōloa Landing Resort, and at first glance, the front desk area was beautiful, festive, and welcoming. We were even able to check in early, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. The moment we walked into our 1-bedroom suite, I noticed a strong human urine smell. My husband tried to stay optimistic, thinking maybe the room just needed to air out. We opened windows and sliding doors, hoping it would help. While looking around, we also found a loaf of bread in the refrigerator and a personalized card addressed to a "Mr. Zazcco," thanking him for his stay. That instantly made me question whether we were accidentally placed in an occupied or uncleared room. I called the front desk to clarify. Hours later, a manager finally reached out and casually told me to "enjoy the loaf, it's fine to eat it." I was shocked and honestly disgusted. Whether the bread belonged to a previous guest or was part of some amenity, it clearly wasn't meant for us--and receiving a leftover food item from another guest is unacceptable. By the next morning, the urine smell was even stronger. There was absolutely no hiding it. We inspected the room further and discovered mold on the pull-out sofa, which may have been the source of the odor. At that point, I immediately asked to change rooms. Hours later, I received a text offering only a $250 credit and informing us we could move rooms at 4 p.m. That simply wasn't an option--we had a luau across the island at 5 p.m., an event planned months in advance. Thankfully, I ran into the sweetest front desk employee, Ashley, who understood the situation and helped cancel our remaining nights. I truly appreciated her kindness because she was the first person who seemed to care about the severity of what we were dealing with. As of today, however, our account reflects multiple charges, a credit, and then another charge, adding even more stress to an already disappointing experience. For a resort with such a beautiful lobby and high expectations, the lack of cleanliness, the dismissive management response, and the billing confusion made this stay incredibly upsetting. This was supposed to be a relaxing, healing trip for us, and instead we spent the first part of our vacation trying to resolve basic issues that should never happen at a property of this level. I hope Kōloa Landing takes this seriously and improves both their housekeeping standards and the way management handles guest concerns. Three weekends ago, Koloa Landing Resort was the location for my cousin's wedding ceremony, reception, and most of the family's hotel reservations were also booked here. The wedding ceremony was a Hawaiian Style outdoor event, and wedding reception was held inside the ballroom. Fabulous time with family and friends, lots of memories, excellent hotel staff, hotel room, and very beautiful hotel grounds. Me and my other half stayed 3 nights for this occasion, we both enjoyed our stay. Wedding Block Group Rate was offered if booking was at least a minimum of 3 nights and had to have been booked prior to April 27, 2024. Since this wedding affair was about a year in the making, I booked a King Room which included a Sofa bed with Island view and Balcony. This room was huge, not as huge as the bride and groom's room. But our room had a kitchenette and a washer/dryer. Upon check-in at the hotel, we immediately noticed how beautiful the hotel lobby looked, self parking, greener than green hotel grounds, and was told that they were voted Best Swimming Pool in America 4 Years in a Row! Once we got into our hotel room, I have to make sure water is running, lights are functioning, TV can turn on, air conditioning is cold, bed is made, towels are folded, closet is empty. Then I found a small box of chocolate macadamia nuts and bottles of water on the coffee table, nice touch. The whole entire stay was comfortable and relaxing as this was our first time staying at this hotel also attending a wedding at the same time. Checking out was simple and easy. Seems like will be staying here again in the future, we both got a nice impression of Koloa Landing Resorts. Pro's: - The layout of the rooms are clean and simple. Balcony overlooking either a garden with a partial view of the ocean. Bathroom fully furnished with extra towels. Extra toiletries, coffee maker, kitchenette, and other items can be easily obtained upon request. Excellent and knowledgeable hotel staff. The resort is centrally located in Poipu, and the driveway into the hotel is positively serene. Con's: - I honestly can't think of anything except the nearby beach isn't the safest beach to swim in, but the swimming pool definitely makes up for it with two water slides, cabanas, and restaurant on location. This is my second visit to Kōloa landing and I would give this place 5 stars but we had an issue at the pool. Our children were terrified to go on the slides after being harassed by a pool attendant named Tin who wasn't aware of the slide rules and spent her entire shift on her phone. Our kids refused to go on the slides for an hour because of her harassment and our kids missed out on an hour of the slide on our last night, the slides close at 5pm and she was sure to close it immediately at 5pm. Super bummed especially because we booked this resort because of it's child friendly atmosphere and never had any issues with our kids and other pool attendants other than Tin. I made a complaint and the offered dessert for the kids but they had already had dessert so nothing other than an acknowledgment. Otherwise, it's a beautiful well kept resort and with warm employees. It's accessibility to the beaches and the walks are amazing. If you travel without children, you will love it but it may not be worth the money if you do travel with kids. We stayed here for our 8y old twins bday. We had high hopes considering all the amazing reviews... we are titatinum with Marriot but we were put on building 3. (Avoid building 2 and 3). It's by the street, has absolutely no view and far from pool and beach. We actually had no view... we got spoiled by Westin Properties in Maui where anywhere you can see the ocean or sunset from any room within their property. We had to drive everywhere... we never saw the ocean from the condo. We asked for a ground floor and we didn't get that. Neither a room with a view. On top of that our daughter was 0.25" to be eligible for the slide hight and she was not allowed to ride in it, yet she was left crying on her bday because she wasn't tall enough. So, we weren't impressed. And we probably won't be back! read more

This review will be worth the read. I promise. Accommodations: We booked through Costco. Our villa was in building 7, close (but not to close) to the largest pool on the property. We had a one bedroom with 1 bath and a pullout couch. This was perfect for a family of 5. The kitchen had utensils and great appliances. You will need to bring your own food, confinements and spices though. There is a washer and dryer which was so clutch for our family (bring your own detergent). I cannot recollect hearing neighbors inside my room either. They offer room cleaning on request but if you forego daily cleaning and get it every 3 days you can get points or a resort credit. Pools: The pool is amazing. First, there are at least 3 pools on the property. The largest one was voted best pool in America and I agree. It has something for everyone! It's maximum 5ft deep with areas for babies to adults. In the large pool there are 2 hot tubs and they are large. There is a waterfall with a grotto/cave feature that kids love. The pool temperature adjust and although it's cold at first, you will acclimate. In the evenings the pools are slightly warmer Food: the restaurant onsite offers great pool side service, and is also a sit down restaurant. It is a little pricey but the service is spectacular. We loved every bartender we had. There are many other great places into eat around town so Yelp or YouTube food spots. This hotel is dope. The service is excellent, the amenities are great and they have thought of almost everything...even umbrellas...lol... What really sold my husband and I was when our 5yr old was injured. Unfortunately he fell and hit his head. It was pretty traumatic. He bled quite a bit and needed stitches (shot out to Dr Poog at the urgent care down the street). The team checked on us that night by stopping by, called the next day to check in again and left him a sweet plush toy with a note later on that night. It was such a thoughtful and genuine gesture. my son loved it and has parents we appreciated the intention. This resort is gorgeous, comfortable, and well located. The grounds have multiple pools and walking trails with nearby shopping and dining, some of which is in easy walking distance. My favorite thing is the gym, which proved to be an extremely comfortable place to work out. There's water, snacks, and lavender-infused towels to wipe the sweat from your face. My biggest criticism is the lack of dining options in the resort itself. While some of the food at poolside dining is delicious, some is average, and all of it is expensive. read more

Update: This might be the corniest, most dad-style update I have ever written. The main reason being that we made some very real friendships here last year, and the staff here have gone out of their way to connect with us online, to get to know our family, and to become a part of our network over the following months. We are officially back, on Day 6 of a 10 day visit. And we are so, so incredibly happy that we were able to make it. Same exact employees and staff. Same exact attention to every little detail. Same perfection and care for all of the little things that makes this place so magical, and such a good financial value for parents, kids, and everyone in between. It's like we never left, honestly. And I mean that very sincerely as someone who also works in hospitality and understands how rare a commodity that is. Our older boy is now 10, and has been able to enjoy the full kid-friendliness and safety conscious environment offered by the resort, all on his own. And our younger, Autistic boy has been able to vibe and thrive just as if we were visiting with cousins back home. The folks here have helped us to become "Kaui professionals" in the sense that they've guided us to every possible cost-friendly place and activity on the island, and they've been so kind and helpful about helping us take our little one to inclusive, safe-spaces for special needs kids. I hadn't been here since they renovated a few years back and it's now my favorite resort EVER!! I have a degree in Hotel/Resort Management and I was amazed at every point of interaction here. The staff was amazing! I brought my parents here to celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary and Lixie from Front Desk surprised my parents with a gift basket of goodies. The 1 bedroom (I slept on the pull-out couch of course ) Villa we stayed in was so nice! Full kitchen, full washer and dryer, separate rooms for bathtub and shower. The full washer and dryer came in clutch. I also liked the free and the abundance of parking right next to our Villa. The coconut shrimp at HoloHolo Grill was fire and the cocktails were (Koloa Tai!). The entire property was wonderfully curated. I low key loved the huge front lawn space where the you could just lay out in the soft grass. The pools are literally the best designed pools I've seen integrated within a resort. If you're looking for a more romantic setting I would probably caution a bit as there were a lot of children running around. Maybe visit during school season instead! Lol All in all a wonderful experience staying at KLR. Def on the pricier side but I think it's warranted given the quality of rooms and amenities, pool, free classes, etc. read more

I really loved this resort. We went in February but it was amazing. The restaurant was good. Typical restaurant. The staff was exceptional. Lovely views. Was close to a lot of great attractions like Poipu Beach. Got to see some fantastic turtles. Glad to have the elevators to the upper floors. Plenty of parking. read more

We felt the Aloha from the moment we got there and the resort is beautiful! Our ocean view room was comfortable and spacious and the bathroom, especially the shower, was also pretty big. We want to point out Carla, an amazing young lady that served us breakfast at the Holoholo Bar and Grill. She's a real gem! They offer Kama'aina room rates and discount at Holoholo, which we really appreciated. Even though we only stayed one night for a little weekend getaway, we can definitely recommend the Kōloa Landing Resort. Mahalo nui to the whole team, and until next time :) Aloha! read more

Can't recommend this resort enough. The place is beautiful, has a lot of amenities and has the best pool in the US (literally), with waterfalls, slides, hot tubs and an infinity pool section. The entire experience from check in, room service, pool, food was fantastic. The staff is friendly and ready to help. This is one of the places where I didnt have to call room service for something that the room was running short on. The service was proactive. Also, the resort is fairly close to Poipu beach and is located in the dry part of the island, which means it was mostly sunny even when it was pouring in Hanalei (northern part of Kauai). I would definitely stay here again when I visit Kauai in future. read more
