We just got back from the most amazing stay at Koloa Landing Resort, and honestly, I'm still daydreaming about it. From the moment we arrived, it felt like paradise. It is the kind of place that immediately puts you in vacation mode. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful . From the architecture, the lush landscaping, and the way it's tucked right by the beach. it's the perfect mix of luxury and island charm. The pools are stunning (yes, plural!), and the staff? Just the kindest people ever. Everyone we met was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. One of my favorite parts was the little shop on property. My husband and I went there every morning for breakfast, and by the third day, they already knew our order! It's those small touches that make you feel like family instead of just guests. Yes, it's a bit on the pricier side, but honestly, worth every single penny. The peace, the beauty, the service. Everything about it made our Kauai trip even more special. We felt calm, cared for, and completely relaxed. We're already planning to come back next year. If you're heading to Kauai and want a place that will truly make your trip unforgettable, book Koloa Landing. You'll never want to leave.

We had a great time staying here! This is definitely an awesome options for little kids and the pools were fabulous! We loved all of the staff and they were super accommodating.

We came here 10 years ago for our honeymoon and the pools were just being built. Of course we had to come back with our two young kiddos so they can experience and probably ruin them forever on what a vacation in Kauai feels like. Hospitality is superb. When we arrived our room was ready quickly and loved being towards the back because it had quicker access to the pools and shaved ice. When you check in, each child receives a scavenger kit backpack filled with cute accessories and a map that they need to complete throughout the resort and in the end they will get a complimentary shaved ice. The holo holo grill food is incredible, especially their poke bowl, but their pizza was delicious as well. We went for breakfast there on our last day and boy oh boy was the French toast so flavorful. So don't hesitate, order from here!! The one thing I would be very careful with is making sure you take your time walking around. It does rain here and there so puddles do accumulate in certain spots. They have signs everywhere saying to be careful because you may slip. An employee even told me so many people have slipped even with the signs so just avoid those areas. They have mats scattered about but you can never be too cautious. I did slip and fall on my back, a guess came by to help me up but for a split second I thought the worse. I did report it to the hotel and just expressed how someone should be going around just pushing the water aside to prevent anyone falling. Overall though from that... our experience was delightful. The slides were a HUGE hit for us, and everyone enjoyed it of all ages. There is no lifeguard on duty... because the water doesn't go above 5 feet. There's a baby section where it starts off just above your ankles, then starts moving up slowly as you swim along. We did notice on the weekends that because no one is really watching around the older teenagers were jumping off the rocks and into the slide area making cannonballs which was scary if you have little ones nearby. We just moved along to keep ourselves safe. We loved the hotel store that sold breakfast burritos, acai bowls, etc and souvenirs that our kids were able to take home. This hotel wins best pool in America for a reason because you really feel like you are in another world. We can't wait to come back again and make more memorable moments with our family.

Why Five Star? The lei greeting welcome when you arrive. The warm check-in at the reception area. The pool and grounds are spectacular. Our room was over the top amazing. Any time you run into staff, they are friendly and helpful. Well done Koloa Landing!

The resort itself was very nice! We were disappointed to find that "garden view" meant a view of the parking lot. Had we known we would've paid for a better room. The pools were amazing and the Holoholo Grill was very good! They offer poolside service which is a fun perk, too. The Nachos are delicious!! We asked for a late checkout but were told there would be a fee involved, however they waived it when we checked out which was very nice! Overall this was a great family friendly resort. The room was clean, bed was comfy, and the housekeepers did a great job keeping things tidy for us!

Dry brush treatment was invigorating! Can't wait to use it at home!

I had the most healing experience with Hope at Koloa Landing Resort Spa. I returned for another treatment because the results were immediately positive. Hope has the best menu of options like "dry brushing" which gave me the smoothest, silky-soft skin and such a boost of energy, like I was 10 years younger! Then, Hope gave me a deeply relaxing Lomi Lomi massage with hot stones and I went home feeling completely healed of all my tight muscles and no more joint pain. I loved the aromatherapy, too. Hope's superior skill level, and exceptional capacity to know exactly how to care for tight muscles, and her intuitive presence made the entire treatment remarkable with lasting results. Every massage with Hope is heavenly because she has healing hands, she's an angel on earth.

    Tasty with crunchy wonderful skin.

We were there for a banquet. Easy parking, great space and wonderful food. Had a great celebration. Nice venue.

The entire grounds is breath taking. Beautiful scenery, multiple pools and huge grass areas to hand out. They have complementary volleyball, soccer and a putting green. The kid, friendly pool was perfect for our six month old. And the fact that they have multiple pools means everyone is spread out. Most people go to the main pool and the kid pool is fairly empty. Staff was very friendly overall I would stay. Location is also great. You're walking distance within multiple shops. Sure there is no beach on site, but there are a few options within a few minute drive.

The resort at night, just beautiful.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Koloa Landing Resort in Kauai, and just... wow. Simply put, one of the most amazing Marriott properties I have ever had the luck to stay at! We got upgraded to a two-bedroom suite, and the room was fantastic; everything was great quality and plenty of space for everyone. The full kitchen was great, and the welcome gift of chocolate-covered macadamia nuts was an awesome touch. We also had a washer and dryer in our suite, so that was a huge benefit! The pool was great (voted one of the best pools in America apparently, and never seemed crowded!) and while there was only one restaurant on property, the Holoholo Grill, it had a great selection of food - everything we had was delicious! It seemed that the resort is well kept up as well, with staff constantly cleaning and updating things. They were even doing work by one of the elevators while we were there, and the workers were super nice and respectful, even though we told them please don't stop working just because we're waiting on an elevator! Kauai was our favorite island by far, and the Koloa Landing Resort was a huge part of that. We will certainly be back to Hawaii, and Kauai in particular, and if I have a say about it, we will be staying at Koloa Landing.

Amazing resort, great amenities and great staff. Pool bartenders at Holoholo grill were more than amazing :Anthony, Curtis,Lamier &Dustin! They have us amazing recommendations for things to do and see during our trip. Food at the grill was so good, I think our favorite was the chicken bites and strawberry patron shots We came for our honeymoon and the fd staff came with a beautiful congratulations basket! We will definitely be back! Thanks Koala Landing for an amazing experience

For the second half of our Honeymoon we flew into Kauai for 5 nights, and chose to revisit the Koloa Landing Resort as a sort of vacation from the first half of our vacation, and while it was rainier and windier than our previous visit, we still enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a one bedroom villa identical to our last stay. The villas are comfortable, and include a balcony with outdoor seating, full kitchen, dining area, living area, washer, dryer, shower and toilet in one room, and separated room and counter and sink with a bathtub. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The villas are probably some of the nicest I've ever stayed in. The Holoholo Grill located on site is still a gem, and the staff, particularly Nicky, and Dustin who we'd met during our previous stay and were pleased to see again, and Limar and Anthony who we met during this stay, really make staying at the Koloa Landing even more worthwhile. They are friendly, provide excellent customer service, banter, and drink, food, and even excursion recommendations available on site, and in the surrounding area. The villas really make you feel like you're staying at your own home, and the staff at the Holoholo grill make you feel like Hānai, or second family. We'll miss Kauai, the resort, but it's the people who make this place special most of all.

My wife and I stayed at Koloa Landing Resort last month for five nights as part of a Costco travel package. I had researched several Poipu resorts before booking, and Koloa Landing stood out for its strong reviews, impressive list of amenities, and what everyone said about the friendliness of the staff. It lived up to all of it. We had a great stay. The resort is comfortable, well maintained, and very easy to relax in. Our room wasn't overly fancy, but it was clean, spacious, and completely comfortable. The staff made a big difference -- everyone we met was friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. They took photos for us, answered questions, and made us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful. We didn't have as much time as we would've liked to enjoy the pools or explore more of the property since this was a short trip, but what we did experience was excellent. We would definitely come back and stay longer next time. Each morning we had breakfast from the little shop in the lobby. They offer breakfast sandwiches, croissants, muffins, coffee, and a few other options. We enjoyed sitting in the open-air lobby overlooking the gardens while we ate. It was a simple and really pleasant start to each day. We highly recommend Koloa Landing and look forward to returning. Thank you to the entire team for a great stay.

We had a 5 star experience. #1: Kiana at concierge desk helped us plan a boat trip and fishing trip. She was excellent. We recommend taking the boat cruise up the coast. #2. We had a lovely stay in building 8. We enjoyed the one bedroom suite. Great corner balcony. The resort is a no frills kind of place - but drinks, food, service and grounds were all wonderful. So what if the property is a bit dated? I read that from several of reviews. Just because it is dated, doesn't mean that it isn't nice, clean and inviting. #3. Please keep in mind that when you're booking your trip that you consider these things. This is a family resort, so there are children everywhere. I would not recommend this resort if you're looking for a quiet private adult time... but there is an adult only pool. Nice touch. #4 Food by pool is good. Fries = yum. Poke bowl was fantastic. #5 we like the location, close to some shops and restaurants as well as the cliffs. There is no beach directly off of the resort just so you know. There are some tide pools on the lava rocks though. #6 this is a safe area. Overall, I really like this place. I would definitely come back, if they do a bunch of upgrades, it won't be as affordable as it is. Just keep it the way that it is. We had a great time. ----- Just an update, after the end of our trip. We finally were able to use one of the pools, specifically the tranquility pool. This is by far the best pool on the property in my opinion - because it is small with a very loud waterfall that is truly relaxing. And also has a small 3 foot hot tub. It is 18 years and older only. My only complaint is that there's no food service or towel service over by this pool. You must get your towels from the towel service that is located on the other side of the resort and then bring back all the towels yourself and drop them off to avoid getting a room charge. I think it would be appropriate to have a bin for fresh towels - and the an area to drop off used towels over here... for obvious reasons.

Is a rental car a necessity in Poipu?

I have one. But really. I think I could have done without. I guess it depends on what you want to do. I'm not doing the traditional tourist stuff. Rest and relaxation is what's on the agenda ! So my rental will mostly be parked!

Does the resort require wristbands for the pool and how strict are they?

I thought the wristbands were just for if you got towels. I didn't see anyone policing people at the pools for wristbands.

Does anyone know if they will store and refrigerate groceries I purchase until I am able to check in?

Yes they will, we went to Costco and stocked up and they will refrigerate it until you check in. Also the fridge in the room is full size :)

The restaurant on-site, Red Salt, has delicious (but pricey) brunch and dinner. The pool bar is convenient (but also pricey). Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a very nice bathroom and a huge television. There was a free bottle of white wine in the fridge when we checked in. The room keys in the form of waterproof wristbands are a nice touch. It was mostly adults staying here and very few families with children, which is what we wanted for our mini-moon. Cons: The parking is Valet only. The pool is relatively small. The chairs around it fill up fast when it's busy. If a pool chair opens up, you can't get your own fresh towels/chair cover and have to wait for someone to come through with a cart to swap them out. You can't access the beach directly from the resort; on a map it looks like you can access Kiahuna beach, but you actually have to climb down from the boardwalk onto it (I did not want to do this and walked to Poipu Beach instead). The food is expensive and the "happy hour" drinks are $19. Overall, it was a relaxing stay in a beautiful location!

Mom and dad have had a timeshare here for years, dad passed 5 months ago and since Mom had had a reservation since last year, she took me instead. It's been such a special time honoring my dad who absolutely loved sitting on the lanai, drinking his macadamia nut coffee, reading books and going snorkeling. They always get the same room 2314 - third floor up on the very left of the main building. I've attached a video. The most amazing view ever and SO relaxing. For the first 2 1/2 days mom and I just read book after book. We sat on the lanai and just relaxed from the crazy past five months. It was perfect. For the first two dinners here we ate at the food trucks that the resort now has booked in the evenings. One was pizza (Pizza Poundahz) and the other Mexican food (Baja Chalupas). The pizza truck was really, really good and the girl running it was super sweet. The Mexican food was just so so and the guy running it didn't have 1 ounce of personality and definitely not customer friendly (aargh). But I love that the resort has this option so we didn't have to go out, just grabbed our dinner and took it back to our room. Perfect! Beyond all that I would definitely come back here, although I myself don't buy into timeshares. The place is top notch, super clean and well stocked. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to. They supply enough coffee filters for a week, and one days worth of coffee grounds. Thank you! Being an end unit, we not only have open windows in the front and back but on the side as well, which is so nice. There's no air-conditioning here which I really think they should have even if it's one unit per room, but yes, the tradewinds are nice, but it's still Hawaii-humid, and sometimes kind of uncomfortable. Mom said they've updated a few things in the room like the couch and comfy chairs, etc. This unit has two bedrooms, the second being two twin beds. In my opinion, they should have a king size bed in each room so you can bring another couple. Kids always love sleeping together anyway if you bring a family so having two twin beds is a little weird to me. Overall, we've been super happy. This location is amazing having a top-notch snorkel spot right across the road. There are so many great shops and restaurants in Poipu. You need to go nowhere else!

There is a workout room on the rooftop as well as miniature golf and pickleball courts (modified tennis courts). There are bbq's throughout the various buildings. The kitchens have just about anything you'd need for cooking. There are a couple of different swimming pools. The beach is right across the street and the snorkeling is amazing. You can walk to Spouting Horn. You can walk to the shopping centers and restaurants. You can rent bikes. There are various food trucks on the property on different days. There is a farmers market on Friday (if I remember correctly). The fruits and vegetables are so fresh and fairly priced. DO NOT BUY fruit/vegetables from the street vendors. Complete rip-off. They have different activities daily for people that like to keep busy. The price could not be any more affordable. What we pay to stay there for a week is less than 3 nights at the big brand hotels in the area. You can buy in fairly inexpensively if a prior owner wants out or defaults. We have been staying here for a few years now. You need to take the Rum tour that's about 30 minutes away. Good times!

My stay at Sheraton Kaua'i Resort Villas came about as a Sheraton Vacation Club timeshare sales presentation. Full disclosure... Marriott brand hotels were my 2nd choice (Hilton brand hotels were my 1st) whenever I traveled especially since my 2nd favorite credit card was from them with points. A vacation ownership resort nestled on Kaua'i's sunny south shore near Poipu Beach, this serene retreat offered a tropical getaway surrounded by the island's lush scenery and gorgeous beach. Make the most of your vacation with access to two pools, a whirlpool spa, a fitness center, and on-site dining options. Choose from comfortable guest rooms, stylish studios or spacious one- and two-bedroom villas. Spread out in a resort villa with separate living, dining, and sleeping areas, kitchenettes, a washer and dryer, and a furnished balcony or lanai. Alternatively, choose a comfortable studio with a king bed, kitchenette and stacked washer and dryer. Was it better to share this resort experience!? I checked in with a lovely woman who went over everything with me, the female timeshare presenter was very informative, and the various staff I encountered throughout the property were awesome. Plus, there was a nearby shuttle stop https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=wsdP73c5d5a8FmVU6PLJXA that took you into Old Koloa Town for a few bucks each way. Honestly, everyone I dealt with was amazing and treated me as if I were a king - mahalo! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) I had no vehicle, so I simply walked from my room. However, there was a nightly $40.00 fee for guests if they parked on the property, and there might've been some free parking along the many nearby roads and streets. Make sure to carefully read any posted signs. There were TVs and background music in the restaurants with some daily entertainment on the grounds. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=m_V8o2h6lZwEAT16NAx8Fg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Sheraton Kaua'i Resort Villas was a much-needed quick getaway that filled all the necessary checkboxes on how I traveled and would return. The biggest selling points were its location, the various amenities of which many I actually used, and that it was a Marriott brand hotel. Lastly, the entire friendly professional staff was awesome. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $2,500.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

The toilet and shower are in one room and then a double sink outside that and across from the weirdly laid out kitchen which is basically all along one wall. There is no dining table, just two barstools at the counter and seating for four around a low coffee table. There is not enough storage space at all.... Two small drawers in a wardrobe unit in the bedroom. There is no way you could store clothes for four people in the place. The studio is really cramped, with even less space in the "kitchen" - there's no way I could stay in that space. The pool by the ocean, on the hotel side is too small given the number of rooms and people. The pool by the villas is a much better size but there is no food service over there. The grilling area needs to be cleaned everyday and it is not. The tables are disgustingly dirty.

Immediately, everyone who worked here is so unwelcoming and unaccomadating. From initial check in, the valet/bellman was irritated by how many bags we had, then we were told we had to go back into the check in line and get a pass for his car after we had just checked in. We went to the concierge and he said he couldn't help us, we had to wait in line. So we did, for 20 minutes - once we got to the front, she told us we didn't need a pass to park. Then we got to the "private" dinner which we paid $3k for...showed up and it was just the table with an ocean view with some curtains against the wall. We asked them to close said curtains, they told us that would disrupt the other guests....when we paid for private room....we had to throw a fit and pull up email exchanges to get them to close the curtains. Then during some high-spirited toasts we got a bit loud, SECONDS LATER, our waiter came in and told us to keep it down. WE PAID FOR A PRIVATE ROOM. FOR THIS REASON. We haven't even left the table yet and I am just fuming writing this. We're honestly very easy people. This was a horrific experience.

The parking lot would get full at times, but we were always able to find a spot. They have quiet hours posted, but honestly, noise was never a problem here. They also have elevator access and luggage carts which was helpful for when we received our Instacart order. The staff was friendly, although our interaction with them was minimal. One kind gentleman on staff offered to take my trash for me and told me to go enjoy my day, that taking out the trash was a horrible thing to have to do on vacation!
