Absolutely fantastic experience here! Being from the area I checked out a few of the mall jewelry stores but wasn't overly impressed with the selection or the experience. When I came to Komara however, I was blown away on both fronts. Ended up purchasing an engagement ring and wedding band and my wife loved them. In over a year the ring is still as flawless as the day I picked it up. The service really sets this place apart. Komara's has always taken good care of me whenever I need jewelry. Their staff is patient and caring and always takes the time to offer as many options as possible. I've had them hand make a necklace and customize a couple rings for me. They also are more reasonably priced than some of the big name jewelers. Even though I have moved from the Youngstown area, I still travel four and a half hours to Komara's whenever I have a jewelry project or need. read more

I sought a local jeweler that has a history in the area and that offers appraisals. Komara's was just what I wished, plus more. Rick did a lovely and diplomatic job in assessing the jewelry I brought in, gently suggesting the pieces that were unlikely to be worth getting appraised and identifying one piece that seemed likely not to be costume jewelry but actually valuable. He finished one appraisal quickly so that 10th anniversary ring could begin a new life as an engagement ring in another state. Brianna was a helpful and professional member of the Komara family. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Pushier than car salesmen, condescending, and rude. I was offered discount after discount, trying to get me to make a purchase, which was offensive. I recently had a poor experience with this store. I did not purchase my engagement ring at Komara's, but was having some adjustments made to the ring and getting the ring setting appraised there. It took longer than they had estimated to make the adjustments, and when I finally went in to pick up my ring, I realized that the appraisal was off by a good margin of the diamond carat weight. I wanted the appraisal to reflect the actual carat weight of the setting, and asked that they please adjust the appraisal accordingly. Also, once I drove home, I realized that one of the diamonds in my setting was missing! I was "helped" by Robbie upon my visit back to the shop--I found him to be snippy and rude. He claimed that I had lost the diamond on my drive from the shop to my apartment the previous day, though he did replace it free of charge, which I appreciated. I did not appreciate, however, that he spoke down to me, and then he himself readjusted the original appraisal for my center diamond, claiming that his appraisers had been too generous in assessing the diamond quality at first, and he therefore docked 3K off the replacement value. The adjustment I had done to my ring by this shop was done well, but the service was poor and the way I was treated as a customer really upset me. read more
