Their app RX local is horrible! You place your order for refill you show up & of course the request wasn't filled because rhe order was never placed by the app even though you get a confirmation! My prescription was given to someone else & they were questioning me like I knew about it. They have cameras but of course there's no clear shot of his face. We have had a fabulous experience with Komoto Medical Pharmacy. Our sweet older beagle, Penny take a very expensive heart medication that is a huge pill. It became difficult for her to swallow and we luckily found Komoto (one if not the only compound pharmacies in town) that could dispense the medication into a delicious bacon flavored oil. This has been a huge life saver! Not only does Penny actually enjoy taking the medication it's much more affordable than the pills. We've had great customer service and never any long waits. This review is a long time coming. My mom has been getting her prescriptions from here for a few years and now is getting them through Hospice using this pharmacy. I cannot say enough GREAT things about the staff here starting with Chris S. and on to the delivery drivers who have all been very good but Abby is FIVE STAR PLATINUM young lady who if I still owned a business I would find a job somewhere in my organization for her. She goes out of her way to work around my changing schedule for deliveries and doesn't complain a bit when I ask for that 8:45 p.m. late delivery on a Friday night. She is so very kind to my adult son who has Down's Syndrome and loves to open the door to say hi to the always smiling Abby who always remembers and calls him by name. I read a few negative yelps and I can't believe it. There must have been new staff or something because we have not had one bad experience. read more

This Pharmacy is by far the best in Bakersfield! Been dealing with them for 5+ years after having 2 stem cell transplants for Leukemia. Komoto was the only Pharmacy in town willing and able to acquire the drugs I needed. Several of which were new FDA approved products that cost 8k+ per month. Their customer service is beyond reproach! Mike and his team are to be commended for their tireless effort to assist and care for their patients, especially me! Customer service is terrible and they overcharge in their prescriptions. Unless you have money to burn stay away from here.

Was harried, hurried and upset last week - trying to get a pain medication compounded for my cat who had had surgery the previous day. Went to another compounding pharmacy first; and they couldn't fill the prescription. Tried them first based on closeness to my home. Went to Komoto's next and was more than pleased. Every person I interacted with was friendly, efficient and helpful. Had my prescription in a more-than-reasonable time. More than worth the extra drive for this excellent service. read more

They made me pay in advance for my prescription before they would even order it because apparently a lot of people leave them hanging. I had to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket. Then they said they wouldn't even make it til I physically got there and I would have to wait 30 minutes. 75 minutes later it still was not done and I missed another important appointment, and they couldn't care less. I do not recommend this pharmacy and will go out of my way to use a different compounding pharmacy next time. read more

My family has come to Komoto Pharmacy for years! Over the years we have used other pharmacies but have always come back to Komoto's. The staff is friendly and make you welcome. It is usually a busy pharmacy but is Always well staffed to handle that so wait times reduced to a minimum. There is also a retail section that has a decent selection of items. The first time I used this pharmacy I filled two proscription. I live an hour away and they had no problem verifying stock before traveling to fill. I called to refill two new prescriptions again and wanted to verify stock before driving an hour during inclement weather. After being on hold they informed me the pharmacist didn't fill comfortably telling me if they carry the meds. I informed them I was a current patient and gave them my info to verify. After verifying I was a patient, I was informed "I am only a new patient " and that I would need to drive an hour one way, while it is snowing/raining to verify if the medication is in stocked. At what point is my business considered enough for me to be treated fairly? They have made it very clear that my health and well-being is not a concern and that they do not want my business. read more

Zero stars wasn't an option. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a pharmacy, and I have had many other bad experiences at different pharmacies. I was taking acutane(very expensive acne meds) for 6 months. Because of my horrible insurance and the med being so expensive, I ended up getting it from komoto for $200. Over the course of my 6 month medication I spent over $1,200 at their pharmacy and never once received good service. It started with them telling me I needed a prior authorization for a couple months in a row when I would go to try to pick up my meds. Every time I called my dr letting them know they wouldn't let me take my meds, they'd have to call komoto directly to clear everything up. I never needed a prior authorization, they were making a mistake. About the 3rd month I went to get my meds, they hadn't even ordered them after I had already dropped my prescription off to them to be filled. Another time, they only ordered half of them, after sending me away again a few days before over prior auth again. I had to wait another day for the other half of my pills to come in. So that was 3 trips to their building I had to make that month, before they would actually release my meds to me. This happened almost every single time. One time I only had $200 in cash exactly and couldn't remember if there was a tax on my meds. I called and asked she she said it would be $200 even. When I got there it was $205 which I didn't have because of given the wrong price over the phone. And management only wrote the $5 off bc of how upset I was and had to ask them to do that. Otherwise they would've sent me away again. The last month I had to go through them for meds was the worst. Once again they told me I needed a prior auth which I knew wasn't true. It was late Friday when this happened after my doctors office was closed and I couldn't get into contact with them until Monday. On Monday I found out through them once again that I did not need a prior auth, the pharmacy was making the same mistake they'd been making for months. When I called them back on Monday after talking to my doctor, I told them I had been denied my meds over a prior auth which was already taken care of. Then they tell me it was actually a problem with a discount card I was using to get the meds cheaper. I got on the phone with the discount card company and had the issue taken care of the same day. Because it had been 8 days since I got my labs done, this through me out of my lab window for acutane and I had to pay for another pregnancy test. This costed me $80. If they would've told me what the problem actually was at the pharmacy, I could've got it taken care of a lot faster. Because they misinformed me once again, I had to wait over the weekend to talk to my doctor about it which is what threw me out of my lab window. It was directly komoto pharmacy's fault I had to pay $90 for this. When everything was FINALLY cleared and I went to komoto to pick up my last and final acutane pills, I put in a complaint for everything that had happened over the course of the 6 months, and for the $90 they had just costed me and 8 days of being off meds bc of their mistakes. They were not apologetic and only took off $20 off the price of my meds. I work for a vet office where we refer people to compounding pharmacies for certain medications for their pets, and I always let them know not to go to komoto pharmacy. I hope this place gets shut down soon read more

This place is terrible. Long story short I am currently looking for 10mg omeprazole for my dog as it was suggested by his vet. Called this place and asked if they have it and the lady on the phone told me they did. I decided to call other places to make sure but it looks like other places are prescription only. I called Komoto back to make sure the 10mg is indeed OTC and the same lady said yes and that she checked on the floor for me. I drove across town to only find out its the 20mg meaning the lady on the phone never even bother checking. She was nice enough to order it for me and asked to come the next day. I drove across town again today and to find out the lady ordered something totally different. Then had to break the news that its also prescription only at their pharmacy. What a waste of time! Please hire someone with a little more knowledge and will do the extra step to confirm things for the sake of customer service read more

I chose Komoto Pharmacy downtown because it is conveniently located between my home and work. In the past month, dealing with minor medical problems along with being a kidney transplant recipient and having excellent medical insurance via work, I have had more than 20 prescriptions filled making me an excellent patron for any pharmacy. I had visited Komoto 5 times: the first time my order was done timely; the 2nd time they accused my doctor's office of not faxing the prescription but found it as I was on the phone with them (it was faxed 4 hrs ago); my 3rd, 4th & 5th visit went exactly the same, I called in the prescription and was told it would be ready in 2 hours. Each time I waited a minimum of 3 hours and when I arrived they told me "it will be just a moment," and each time the order had not even been processed and I was left standing at the register for at least 15 minutes waiting! My last visit was exacerbated by poor telephone service where I had given all my information for 5 refills but one, was put on hold, and then another employee answered and told me I would have to start the process all over again! I thought by going with a smaller local pharmacy the customer service would be better, but in the 17 years of dealing with pharmacies on a regular basis, this was by the far the worse service I ever consistently received! read more

My family has gone to Komoto Pharmacy ever since I was a small child. My parents tried other pharmacies in town, but it just did not seem to work. The customer service at other pharmacies were not very satisfying. There always seemed to be an issue with the insurance my parents had. The entire process of going to a pharmacy to get ur medicine was so overwhelming and exhausting for my parents. Especially when they were out of work late and would have to rush to the pharmacy store. My parents were not pleased with any pharmacy, until they started attending Komoto Pharmacy in Delano. The friendly customer service allowed my parents and I to continue going to that pharmacy. As a grown women I also attend Komoto pharmacy with my own family now. Komoto has given a satisfying customer service to my parents for many years, which makes it easier for me to attend since I am certain I will not be disappointed. I always enjoy going especially to browse the mini gift shop.There are always adorable things on sale. I highly recommend attending Komoto Pharmacy you will not be disappointed. read more
