Tom and Linda are wonderful. I called the salon as I wasn't sure where to park, I didn't want to chance my car getting towed. Tom came out and literally gave me his parking spot, talk about amazing customer service. As far as my experience, I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure while enjoying a few mimosas. I was very relaxed and serviced as soon as I walked in the door. Linda serviced me and I believe she is a newer nail technician. She took her time and my nails came out great. Only complaint I have is I wishes they used new nail files on my nails. I also wasn't familiar with the nail brand D&L. I picked the color 155P which is a bright orange which was beautiful. I was looking for a last minute spot to go for a pedicure. I saw this spot was open & decided to give it a shot. I was told there was a space, asked to sit to wait, then waited over an hour. For almost an hour no one attended to me. Close to the hour, I was told it'll be just five more minutes several times, however, by that time I decided to leave. I was very patient & quite disappointed. If they didn't have time for me, they needed to have told me. To just wait around for nothing, it's not like I had all the time in the world. I wasn't even seated until 20 minutes after my appointment time, and once they finally started, everything felt rushed. My feet weren't even covered, and the water was cold. While I was waiting, another customer was complaining because her feet had been cut badly enough to bleed. They only gave her a discount after she practically had to beg for one. She also pointed out that the pricing online didn't match the pricing in-store, which they gave her a hard time about correcting. After checking myself, she was absolutely right. The service I wanted was listed online for much cheaper, and I would've ended up paying $10 more in-store if I had stayed. This salon is new and clean. It's very small. The staff is friendly. Polish selection is limited but there are plenty of dip colors. I appreciate that they have a website. I don't think it's related to the DC Mimosa chain but I could be wrong. Prices aren't out of the ordinary. Staff is friendly. The name is unfortunate, as there are not any mimosas. I got a pedicure with nail art. The regular pedicure doesn't come with callus removal, which is ridiculous. That's a $5 add-on. My pedicure was great, even if the tech stepped outside to move her car. She did excellent, excellent work on my callus and cuticles. I was impressed. No drill or razor though, which is too bad. No nail art display, either. However, her polish and nail art skills left much to be desired. I left the salon fairly upset and they told me to come back and they would fix it, plus they gave me $5 off my next visit. I returned and Titi fixed the work of the other woman and now my toenails look great. I would go to Titi again or the male owner. The only other thing I thought was a bit weird was that during my first visit, they were playing risque Vietnamese music videos and when a woman with children came in and asked for the TV to be changed, they didn't how to do it. Luckily, they gave the remote to the young girl and she changed it to a Barbie channel. I feel like they really need to choose something a bit more welcoming. On my recent visit, they turned of the TV and put on relaxing music, so I think they might understand. While I didn't leave thrilled on my first visit, Mimosa more than made up for it, so I will go back to try out their manicures. It's nice to have a another nail salon in the neighborhood. read more

I was a regular customer. I would come here for my mani's and pedi's. I got a regular manicure yesterday around 6pm. It looked fine when I left the salon, and I was very careful not to ruin my nails when I got home. I went to bed about 6 hours later, and when I woke up, my nails were smudged. I believe the polish never fully dried because the nail tech was applying the polish in thick coats, and she didn't let the polish dry in between coats. I also believe they use cheap/old nail polish at this salon, because I've literally seen them pour nail polish remover into the nail polish to thin it out (instead of just buying a fresh bottle.) I'm disappointed because I've wasted a lot of money and time at this salon. I believe they don't want to do your nails if you're not getting gel or acrylics. I love the location of this nail salon, it's just a 15 minute walk from my house. My nails always look good when I leave the salon. However, I hate that they will say you can come even when they don't have dedicated time for you. I've come in twice and stayed way longer than necessary, even when I made an appointment, because they do multiple people at a time or they aren't ready when the appointment starts. There were some not so great reviews but I decided to give them a try since they had availability when the place I love near there had a wait. Me & my friend both got pedis and manis. I wanted gel on my toes but was talking when she was painting them so ended up with regular polish..no biggie. For my nails, I got dip powder and added a tip on my real nail. The shape is what I wanted pretty much..the color I don't love but that was my fault and I felt rushed to make a choice. Normally with dip the coat at the end is gel but he did clear coats of non-gel polish so I ended up with two nails that were messed up that he had to buff and redo the top coats again. Due to a previous bad nail job I had dry skin around my nails and finger tips. I came in and asked for a MANICURE and then depending on the manicure result I may want a full set of a picture I showed that was dip... ok so.. I walk in and it's two ppl in... the woman took too long to acknowledge me as she was texting on her phone and not making eye contact. I had to repeat myself 4 times to let her know why I was in. So I sat in her chair and she says if you want full set you have to go to the guy. I sit in his chair and they go back and forth before saying I'm getting acrylic with color because that's what I'm the picture (lies) The "manicure" I asked for was my fingers being dipped in COLD water for 2 minutes and then cuticles slightly cut. He told me my dry skin was old acrylic (also lies) and that was the the end...no massage, nothing. My nails were drilled down to a pulp because he wasn't patient enough to wait for the old acrylic to soak off. Not to mention the phone lady kept distracted him with what she was doing on her phone.. still being rude with her phone addiction. So he puts two tips on crooked and I point them out .. he starts huffing and puffing like I'm getting on his nerves. I start feeling a little better towards the end because even though I didn't get what I asked for, the end result isn't horrible until I realize that his polish job isn't even and now I have different colored natural nails with dry finger tips and glue left behind. I get to the register and I'm charged $85 for $10 take off $15 horrible rushed cuticle cleanup $60 full set. I don't have a problem paying or tipping. I pay $95 (tip not included) on my toes every two weeks because I get dip on my toes and a pedi at a different salon. I happily pay that because I get what I ask for and the service is NICE !! I did not tip here as my pressure was up the entire time. First time her and never and I mean never coming back. This isn't a bad review for the salon as a whole but maybe the owner should do some tweaks with the employees. Not to mention I wasnt asked if I wanted anything to drink or anything. read more

We (my friend and I) had a bad service the 2nd time we were there in 2021. The salon was extremely busy. We had the spa pedicure @ $65, it was suppose to be for 1 hour and 10 minutes and the technician rushed through our service and didn't honor the full hour and 10 minutes. It was half that time. We were so disappointed and never came back. In general, we are really generous with our tips because we understand people in service industry work very hard. We still tip but never came back. Let's talk about customer service! Mimosa Nails did a great job of booking an appointment for my friend and I. They did a courtesy call the night prior and we were seated on TIME and together. That's not usually my experience at nail salons. When we arrived in the morning, we checked into the iPad. We were kind of rushed when picking out a color. They had OPI colors and a brand I'm not familiar with for mood changing colors. My friend chose a green mood changing color and while she was soaking her feet, the esthetician said she didn't have the color available...weird. I did a classic pedicure and gel fill-in. I had regular glitter polish that needed to be removed. The esthetician used a nail file drill to remove the glitter but then used acetone because she figured out it was regular polish. Well, not all the glitter was removed but hey if the new color covers it up, who cares, right? My fill in was OK. My esthetician was gentle and I was happy with my color. (3 coats applied). The attention to detail wasn't all there. Two of my finger nails didn't have that smooth look like the rest of my nails. If you live in the neighborhood and looking for a quick mani/pedi service, this is the place. I recommend booking an appointment before you stop in! read more

She visited this salon with her Vietnamese friend who was treated far better than her. The technicians talked badly about her & performed lackluster service on her. It's unfortunate that in 2020 salons are still treating their black customers like garbage. I personally wouldn't give this salon a dime. This incident is on video. Shame on you all.
