I have never done popcorn ceiling removal before, and sometimes you don't know what you don't know when hiring for something like this. However, the condition my home was left in was far beyond what would reasonably be expected. Dust and debris were left throughout the house, including large amounts on the floors, along baseboards, near door tracks, and even under furniture. Cleanup was included in the contract, but the level of dust and debris left behind made it clear that the cleanup process was not adequately handled. After the job was completed, I spoke with other contractors as well as professional cleaning companies while getting quotes for cleanup. Multiple people in the industry told me that while some dust is normal, there are standard preparation and containment methods that are typically used to prevent this level of mess. Throughout the project I also had to repeatedly point out items that had been missed and ask for them to be addressed. For example, caulking and finishing work were not being completed until I specifically brought them up and followed up several times. In addition, the paint on the ceiling developed cracking the very next day, which has raised concerns for me about the long-term quality of the work. I expected that I might need some light cleaning afterward, but the amount of dust and debris left behind has required significantly more time and effort to deal with than should have been necessary. Between the additional cleanup and the time spent obtaining quotes and addressing issues after the job, the overall experience was very frustrating. My recommendation to others considering popcorn ceiling removal would be to clearly outline containment methods, cleanup expectations, and finishing details in writing before the project begins.

We have an odd counter top extension that sort of hung out at a weird angle, we did not use and took up an entire room of the house (it is a small house). It was becoming a place for accumulating junk. This project required that they cut off a section of granite countertop and detach the extension from the floor. Then they trimmed the granite to a new length it so that they could reposition it with a CLEAN SEAM. It looks great and now I have more usable counter top space for cooking, the kids have a counter to sit at for breakfast and we have an extra room in the house.
