Fantastic Dentist. Fantastic office staff!!! Everyone was so friendly. Professional. & Understanding with me bringing my 3 month old baby with me to my appointment. I did not want to be "that patient" who brings in their baby and the staff ends up watching them...YES! it happens I have been that employee who has watched a child or two while at work. I got recommended this dentist by a friend. I don't have dental insurance and Dr. Kosta has an extremely affordable "Kosta's plan". Includes 2 cleanings & 2 x-rays for the year! He was extremely thorough & very good at what he does. We all hate the dentist, let's be real. But he was gentle and didn't even hurt me once. Where do I start??? First and foremost I am a nervous wreck when I go to the dentist. Every single time. The first time coming to Dr. Kosta was no different. Once sitting in the chair I chatted with the hygienist - she was great. Then Dr. Kosta comes in and introduces himself. Such a cool guy. I believe he's Greek and has a cool accent. Just his demeanor is calming and fun. In that appointment I had my X-rays done, teeth cleaned and one quadrant of deep cleaning (he didn't try to sell me on my whole mouth as the last dentist did). It literally was a piece of cake. On top of that, and what makes me love being one of his patients more, is how he supports The Troops. I volunteer at For The Troops organization and Dr. Kosta donated hundreds of bags of toothbrushes, toothpastes, floss and mouthwash. This meant so much to the organization and his support helps men and women in our troops overseas. I can't say enough how thrilled I am to have found Dr. Kosta. Dr. Kosta is phenomenal! The only reason I was in the market for a new dentist after 26 years was because my prior dentist had passed away. Working with Dr. Kosta has proven to be exceptional and I cannot imagine having found a better provider. He listens to my concerns and eases my anxiety about any dental procedures. He always gentle and explains to me exactly what is happening. I have pretty terrible teeth, and I don't feel that Dr. Kosta has ever judged me on them. He explains what needs to be done and he refers me to the correct specialist if necessary (twice to the endodontist and one to an oral surgeon - my roots are crazy with 5 on my back teeth!). I feel above all he is a very intelligent and caring person and I plan on being a patient until he retires! A special shout out goes to Christina who has worked in the front office (reception area) since I started and Dr. Kosta and is always so happy. And finally, Janae, so upon meeting me the day I was to have two teeth extracted offered her hand for me to hold / squeeze to help keep my mind distracted from the procedure. She is the best hygienist I have ever had! This sounds weird, especially coming from me, but I look forward to seeing everyone in Dr. Kostas office... I found Dr. Kosta through yelp, and to be honest I thought his rave reviews were too good to be true. However, I'm happy to say they're absolutely true! I am almost two days out from my wisdom tooth extraction and I couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. I was awake for the entire procedure, which could have made for a scarring experience, but Dr. Kosta and his staff made it as easy as possible--when it was over he said it had taken 40 minutes, but to me it only felt like 20! I was so impressed with how kind and thorough everyone in the office was, and I will definitely continue to see Dr. Kosta. On a side note, I was very happy that he didn't prescribe hard drugs for pain relief, as I was concerned that something like Vicodin would upset my stomach. But the pain meds he prescribed have worked beautifully on my mouth and stomach--I haven't felt any pain since taking the first dose (I've been diligently keeping on top of it). A couple of years ago I had cosmetic crowns placed on the top six teeth. There was a miscommunication about what I was getting. I asked for veneers but ended up with crowns. To be honest, I don't know if the miscommunication was on my part or Dr. Kosta's. My natural teeth are very small, so when the crowns were permanently placed, I was shocked at how big they were. I freaked out and went to a different "cosmetic" dentist (not located in Simi) to redo them, and SHE did a TERRIBLE job. She also charged me at least twice what Doctor Kosta charged. After having the crowns on for quite a while, I really do like the larger look, but I would like to have them just a bit smaller. I am a small woman, and huge teeth just don't look right on me. I have been seeking a dentist to re-do them for a 2nd time, and who will do a good job, for almost two years. It has been a journey for sure. I definitely overreacted about how big they were, but I will always wonder how I ended up with crowns as opposed to veneers. Now that I am in the thick of this journey, I am having to pay an arm and a leg for crowns, when veneers would have been just fine. The only advice I would give is that just because your dentist claims to be a "cosmetic" dentist and is in a fancy part of town, don't think you will be assured a good final product. Doctor Kosta offered to fix things, but at that point I was really freaked out about having crowns rather than veneers. However, I think he did a better job than the "cosmetic" dentist in Thousand Oaks did. I think I have finally found a skilled dentist in Simi Valley to give me the smile I have always wanted, so we will see. But, if you do choose Doctor Kosta, just make sure you make it clear what you want--Crowns, or veneers? English isn't his first language, so that might be where the miscommunication happened. Otherwise, he is very likable and probably a great general dentist. He did a crown lengthening on one of my front teeth and he did a beautiful job. Good luck on your personal dental journey. Incredible dentist, and not just the dentist. The helpers nurses were very uplifting and nice. His work? Just professional and calming as can be, made me feel that everything will be safe and painless, and it was. I'm so glad I came to him. My entire family does. He's the man, I really like the guy even as a person. He's smart and he doesn't try to scare you, he just tells you what you can do to fix your situation. He's also multi lingual, he speaks a ton of languages. Add a bit of humor, and the politeness and niceness of the front desk secretaries, it's the best dentistry place that I'm aware of for sure. I went to Dr Konstantinos knowing that my dental work would involve implants. The dentist was attentive and my first visit resulted in extractions. The dental assistant was very nice. The problem sadly is that the front desk filipino lady is not helpful. I paid almost 1000.00 for my first visit and when I was leaving I had blood everywhere and full of novocaine yet she made me wait while she answered the phones. Then handed me multiple cards for appts that I couldnt really listen or deal with right then. This confusion caused me to have to call in the next day when my bleeding stopped and the same desk lady was impatient inconvenienced causing me to rush through necessary info. I talked to Dr Kosta dentist and explained that this would be a very expensive procedure and I dont want to be rushed or treated as an inconvenience to which he replied that she is usually not like that but that her assistant has been out. (The asst was there that day) so I decided to wait and see. Now there is a problem with my dental claim, I called but they dont return calls. I left a msg saying I think there is another dentist who would like to do this 5-8k worth of work and be responsive to patient needs. Someone called me from that number but didnt leave a msg., dental care is important and I would NOT RECOMMEND trusting a dentist that is unable to consult but instead appears rushed and avoidant. My recommendation in this case is to get staff that is respectful to your patients or you'll lose patients. read more

No one likes going to the dentist. It's no fun having someone prod around inside your mouth and it's no fun having to be ashamed of what problems they might find. Myself especially included. I was LOOOOONG overdue for a dental exam...at this point I NEEDED it. Being a smoker for most of my adult life and having a serious addiction to gummi bears, I knew I was in dire need of some work. After doing some searching around on Yelp, I came across Dr. Kosta's dental office. With all the glowing reviews, I knew I'd found my dentist. The office is elegant looking and warm/inviting for a dental office. The girls working at the front are always so nice and helpful. Dr. Kosta and his assistants are super professional, explaining every little detail of every process. My dental insurance wasn't the greatest, and they were courteous enough to work with me on some of the prices. Jasmine or Candice always make sure to make a follow up call to make sure everything is okay. Makes you actually feel like they care! Awwww. I'm a picky guy and I do my homework. I needed to get my GF a lot of work so I picked them based on reviews. I am very pleased. He is very open and explains and shows me everything that I ask him. I never saw an ego just a smile and a good explanation of what I am asking... I started going to him as a recommendation and being covered by my Kaiser Insurance at that time. At a later date he removed himself from Kaiser and offered his own insurance policy. I too went to Dr Kostas based on Yelp Reviews. He is Great! On my visit I was greeted by the receptionist and welcomed with a smile and handshake. The team is fantastic. Xrays cleaning and exam all went great. He found 1 cavity. He took a digital picture and put it on the TV in the room and explained what needed to be done. Awesome! Then an assistant came in and explained the costs and what my insurance would cover, again Awesome. I booked a follow up appt for the following week. The filling was the easiest I have ever had and I was in and out in 40 mins. I never waited for more than 5 mins at either appt. Dr Kostas is very nice, asks if your okay over and over and is very genuine. I have found my dentist for the rest of my life. Also..office has lots of parking and is very modern. My mom was a dental assistant so I am picky about my dentist and I can say this one is top notch. read more

I have always been nervous when it comes to getting any dental work done because of a bad experience I had as a child. because of this I put off going to the dentist for a LONG time. Someone recommended Dr. Kosta to me when I was having a lot of pain because of my wisdom teeth, he took out all four in one visit and it was a BREEZE. Even the recovery time was so much shorter than I had expected. I have also had a major root canal and porcelain tooth put in by him. Very easy. Great atmosphere and awesome staff. In my opinion the ONLY good dentist in Simi! Dr. Kosta is amazing. All his employees are friendly and helpful, and the Dr himself is gentle, personable and really good at what he does. I've been to two other dentists in Simi who aggressively try to upsell you on cosmetic procedures you don't want. Dr Kosta has never done this. Also, at other practices I had a lot of pain during procedures. At Dr Kosta's I actually napped through a root canal! I have a very high anxiety about the dentist chair. I am a white knuckle kind of person and more when I sit in that chair. WELL.... Dr Kosta had me almost asleep. After gum surgery, half of a root canal and half of teeth cleaning all in one visit, I had NO pain during the procedures or any pain after either.I have never been to a dentist where there is absolutly no pain during or after the procedures until now. Dr. Kosta is AWESOME!!!! I cannot say enough good and kind things about this man. AND HIS STAFF is just as AWESOME as he is.
