Took my car to Burnside Automotive after a car accident. The collision repair itself was actually…read morepretty good--they straightened everything out properly, the panels lined up well, and the car drives straight with no issues from the structural work. They were decent with communication during the process and got it done in a reasonable time frame. If it was just body/frame fixes, I'd have no complaints there. The problem came right after pickup. They power washed the car before handing it back (which is standard, I get it), but when I got to work and looked closer, the paint on the hood and front areas was chipping and flaking off in spots. It looked like the high-pressure wash blew off sections where the adhesion wasn't strong enough--paint peeled away easily, exposing primer or bare spots. This happened basically from their own cleaning, not from me driving to work that was only 10 mins away. I went back after work . They checked it and accuse me of picking the paint and refused to take responsibility even though it was their wash that caused the chipping. No offer to touch it up, repaint the affected areas, or even cover. Just brushed it off and sent me on my way. Felt really disappointing after otherwise solid work on the accident repair. If you're dealing with a bad crash and need reliable body work, they might do okay structurally. But for owning up when their process damages it? Not impressed. I'll be going elsewhere for any touch-ups or future needs. Take before/after pics of any cleaning, and consider a shop that stands behind the full job.

Unprofessional and Rude - Avoid!…read more Today I contacted "Mark" from COLOROMETICS, who responded via text, for a wheel repair quote. I needed about 4 inches of repair, and he quoted me $159 without any breakdown of the costs. This was significantly higher than another quote I received for $90 for a similar repair. While I understood with the other company that the $90 price might mean a less-than-perfect finish, Mark didn't even leave room for dialogue about options. A professional would have offered alternatives like, "Depending on what you want, we can try a less aggressive approach for $90," or something similar. He simply didn't seem to care about building a relationship with a potential client or exploring different solutions. What was truly off-putting, however, was Mark's unprofessional and unsolicited opinionated tone in his text messages. When discussing the repair, I may have used the wrong terminology like "blend," but it clearly set him off. He rudely responded with "It's not a painted finish so blending is not an option. Sounds like you got a someone that's doesn't know what they are talking about. Lol Best of luck to you." This defensive, dismissive, and frankly, childish attitude is a really horrible business practice. For such a short conversation with that much reactivity, I would imagine he's a nightmare when he believes a client wronged him my god. I would strongly advise against using COLOROMETICS or dealing with Mark. There are clearly other businesses out there that offer better pricing and, more importantly, professional and respectful customer service. Save yourself the drama and look elsewhere. Autobody Alternatives in modesto were hired to paint my car and my fathers. The manager came to…read moreour houses and gave us an estimate for each car and stated they would both be done by the first of 2025.They started my dads car first and had it from sept 2024 to mid February. My car went in the second week of January 2025. When we checked my dad's car. After it was painted, we found over thirty two blemishes,Nibs, drips and scratches in the new paint. When we questioned them about it, they said, that's what you paid for. We then found that they do not have a paint booth. They paint in an open bay shop. I spoke with several of their employees, and they confirmed this. After a lengthy argument with management they finally decided to fix the paint when legal action and epa would be notified,But refused to put the chrome on. The body man said they didn't know how to put the chrome on the car. After a second time inspecting the car, we found that there were still several nibs runs and scratches on the new paint job. They finally agreed to fix it, but told me to remove my car that they no longer wanted my business. That they did not have the capability to paint a car to the level that was expected. ( a paint job without runs nibs and scratches) When i got my car back home. I was unable to open up the passenger side door, the body man had adjusted the fenders, too close. I found two broken bolts in the fenders, i supplied a brand new kit of bolts and they were in place but upon inspection I found random bolts were put in their place. After further inspection of my dad's car and checking the work that they fixed. We found more drips and scratches. The rearbumper that was install did not have the brackets in place and random bolts we're put in mounting it with a 3" gap on one side and a 1/4 gap on the other. The front bumper was also installed Incorrectly, with the wrong bolts and brackets. there were scratches on the lower valance. We were able to fix and adjust all mounting errors with little effort but the paint remains sub par. i'm sure that this business will say otherwise but luckily all conversations were videotaped or record. EPA, BBB and local agencies are being contacted. Do not take your to this place . You would get a better job at home in a garage!

After having a great experience at the 9th street location who fixed my wifes's tesla i was happy…read moreto hear that fix auto has a second location on spyres way by mchenry since we live in oakdale we dont have to go far into modesto. My mother n law needed her 23 corolla front bumper fixed from a small collision with highway debris and right away i knew i wanted to go back to fix auto. Unfortunately my experience wasnt as good as the 9th street location. First off katy up front and mary and michael were nice and attentive and welcoming and i appreciate that fix auto got oem parts to fix my mother n laws corolla but then this were the experience started to not be that good. I go to pick up the car and while the new bumper looked great the fitment wasnt as tight were the bumper meets the fenders but it looked close enough, also when i got home i noticed the wheel splash guard on passenger side wasnt fully clipped in, no biggie i can clip that back in myself. Well after a week the passenger side part of the bumper was starting to unclip by the fender so i took it back and they agreed to order new oem fender brackets to install and should take care of the issue, i dropped car off when the new brackets came in then picked it back up the next day and talked with michael and the sides of bumper were still not as tight as before when the car was new, also i noticed both sides of the wheel splash guards were not fully clipped in again and showed michael and he agreed to drive it back into shop to fix it but i said i can just clipped them back in myself since i was ready to go home after a long day of work and didnt want to wait. Another couple of days go by and the passenger side of bumper is still unclipping from the fender, at this point im starting to get really frustrated and drove right back to fix auto and spoke with michael, i told him this issue needs to be resolved because this is the second time i had to bring the car back and i explained to him that who ever is working on the car needs to take their time and do the job right because i felt like they were rushing the job and i pointed out how the wheel splash guards werent fully clipped in when i picked up the car the second time and i recommended them to get a tech from toyota to help them with the bumper fitment issue, Michael told me he would personally make sure the issue would be resolved and he would put me into a rental for 3 days which i appreciate. So i go to pick up the car hopefully for the last time and the fitment looked way better and they washed the car so i thanked michael and went on my way. So the next morning at 4am i go to turn the car on and get it warming up and turn lights on and had to go back into house to get something, as i was coming back to the car is when i noticed the driver side bumper accent LED light is not on!, SERIOUSLY! I just told michael to make sure the job gets done right and now this issue?! Anyways at this point i was not gonna take the car back over there and i ended up being in a bad mood for the whole morning at work, i also noticed now the driver side part of bumper is now starting to unclip from the fender and decided to take matters into my own hands, when i got home from work i pulled the car into the garage and took off the bottom driver side splash guard so i can look inside where the LED light is and sure enough it wasn't plugged in so i plugged it back in myself and put back together and tested and it comes on fine now, i also decided to check their work around the top part of bumper and also noticed the driver side top part was not fully clipped into the driver side headlight like it was suppose to be. I also unclipped the bumper by driver side fender and put some 3m double sided tape strips on the bracket and clipped bumper back in to secure it and so far its staying clipped in. Im not bringing the car back to this location no more and will take it to the 9th street location instead because i dont like how the car was treated, i felt like bringing the car back to have the issues resolved was a nuisance to the shop workers and they rushed it to get it done and get the car out so they can start their next job and they didnt check their work to make sure everything was back together properly, i shouldnt have to correct their mistakes but unfortunately i did. I see all these great reviews of peoples cars getting fixed with no issues but for some reason they couldnt figure out how to fully clip in a new toyota front bumper and keep it from unclipping and they cant even check over the car properly to make sure everything is back together and working. I will not come back and if there are any other issues with the car which im hoping we will not have anymore i will just go to the 9th street location to have them take care of it and im hoping that location still does good work, if not then i will just take my business to another body shop......

Absolutely amazing customer service - I'm so grateful for this shop!…read more About 7 weeks ago, I was in a car accident. I initially took my car to a different shop, and the mechanic there assured me he would handle everything -- from working with my insurance to making my car look brand new. Weeks went by (5-6 weeks), and every time I called to check in, he kept saying he was "taking care of it." Eventually, I contacted my insurance directly -- only to find out they had never even heard from the shop. My car had just been sitting there all that time, untouched. I was beyond stressed and had no idea what to do next. That's when I called Caliber Collision and spoke with Celina. Within 20 minutes, she had already contacted my insurance, got all the information she needed, and even arranged a tow truck to get my car out of the first shop. She was so on top of it, kind, and made me feel like she genuinely cared. This shop did more for me in 2 days than the other shop did in 6 weeks. I can't express how thankful I am that I found them. I now have complete trust in Caliber Collision and feel truly blessed to have brought my car here. Highly recommend! 5++++ STARS!! Huge thanks to Celina and the entire staff for your outstanding customer service and quick action. You really helped me when I felt stuck -- THANK YOU !!!!!!

1 Star -- Extremely Disappointed with Caliber Collision…read more I had a horrible experience with Caliber Collision and would not recommend them to anyone. They were far more concerned about their "turnaround time" than actually repairing my vehicle properly. They kept aggressively pushing me to pick up my car after 5 PM on a Friday -- clearly so I wouldn't be able to inspect the work or come back to complain until Monday if there were issues. I specifically asked them to save and reinstall my aftermarket parts. They agreed -- then broke them, replaced them with lower quality parts, and now claim they "can't contact" the shop I bought them from. One phone call on my end and the shop immediately confirmed Caliber never contacted them and provided me an invoice. So that was a lie. The estimator was also extremely pushy about my rental. She went behind my back and told Enterprise my car was finished when it wasn't, and said I'd be returning the rental Friday at 5 PM -- without my confirmation. I work past 5 PM. Enterprise told me it was "out of their hands" because Caliber reported the car done and that I would be responsible if insurance didn't approve the rental over the weekend. Because of their misinformation, I had to leave work early just to pick up my car -- only to find out the repairs weren't even finished. Then on Monday I was told it was done, but that I now needed to personally contact the aftermarket shop, buy new parts myself, and wait for insurance reimbursement. Meanwhile, they kept pressuring me to return the rental saying it wasn't approved -- which was also false. When I contacted my adjuster, she confirmed the rental WAS covered because Caliber was still working on my suspension... even though they were telling me the car was "ready." This shop has been dishonest, disorganized, and unprofessional. They caused unnecessary stress, wasted my time, mishandled my vehicle, and tried to rush me into accepting incomplete and subpar work. If you care about your car, avoid Caliber Collision
