Good people, I needed a valve cover replacement and they were able to get me in same day and fix it for a reasonable price. At first when I picked it up the gasket didn't seal right so it was leaking oil but I brought it back and they put a new gasket on and cleaned up the oil in the engine bay with some break cleaner. It's running fine now, he even gave me some tips for getting rid of battery erosion, I would recommend them to a friend. read more

Went here to get a machine calibrated on my lunch break from work. Owner was not there and the worker did not know how to use the credit card machine. He called the owner to help walk him through using the machine... long story short: the business credit card machine was down and owner wouldn't be back for an hour (way past my lunch break), and my machine wasn't calibrated so now my truck is locked out and we have to pay to get a tow back to this shop so we can get it calibrated. So dumb. They wouldn't calibrate it and charge me later, they don't have have no Venmo or Zelle. Only wanted cash, which I didn't have nor did I have the time to run and get cash due to their location. Keep in mind I spoke with the owner in the morning who told me to come in at the time I did and he never mentioned the machine was down or he preferred cash. read more

I don't know how this place has such good reviews. Maybe they're all his friends? I got completely scammed by J&W. I bought an AC recharge on Groupon for this place and right from the start Raphael starts saying it might be something else, a leak, a bad compressor, but I responded saying well I paid for a recharge, so you're going to top off the Freon at least right (even if there are other things that are wrong)? He said yes, but that is not what happened. Long story short, he said I needed to replace the switch and relay for another $100+ (which you can check to see if they're working in 5 minutes without buying new parts first- my husband checked them by following a YouTube video and they were both fine). Raphael said that I had enough Freon so he didn't need to put any in but that something else was wrong and he couldn't figure it out. Well, we took my car to Midas for a second opinion, and they did an ac diagnostic. Their finding? I didn't have enough Freon. Surprise, surprise, they topped off my Freon and now my AC works! I'm so mad I got scammed at J&W. We talked about our kids and he knew that I was driving around two little ones in 100+ degree weather without an ac working, and he still scammed me by not putting in more Freon (aka an ac recharge, when that is exactly what I paid for). Was it because I'm a woman and he thought he could take advantage? Who knows. One thing for sure is I will never frequent this business again and will warn everyone I know. read more

please never go to this place they scam you for your money and than tell you you need other things done to the car. I thought I was getting a good deal and come to find out i got 3 second opinions on what was done to the car and they said it was a complete rip off. I have a 2005 Honda Accord and payed $3,270 for head gasket repair and minimal things that were changed like head bolt set , coolant, upper hose and stuff like that. The guy knew my situation I'm not rich and I'm just a freshman in college trying to get by. Went there they charged me 500 to fix a problem with my engine , drove it literally 2 days broke again and he tried to charge me another 500 .says oh that wasn't the problem but I also had to pay 80 bucks diagnostic fee so got stiffed on that too . Car currently not running and I'm out 600 dollars ultimately because I went to his shop. My advice find somewhere reliable if half this place ratings are from people who got stiffed my advice GO SOMEWHERE ELSE unless you like giving your money to shady Buisnessman. Where to begin. My fiancé and I go in there to get her battery cables changed out. Takes them over a week to even look at the car. Once they "look at it" gives me a quote of close to 600 dollars. What the fuck? Buying the cables outright was less then 80, so their labor costs are upwards of 500? Guy calls me back, says its going to be 260, but he's just going to "Clean the cables and put different connectors on". You're telling me, 2 battery terminals and "cleaning the cables" costs as much as what google says the average cost of repairing the entire cable costs? This guy is a scam artist. We get into the shop. The receptionist tells us "It's 260. Cash or card." Without even showing me the breakdown paper of the parts and labor. When I ask to see the paper she gets EXTREMELY rude and slides the paper in front of me like it was some sort of inconvenience. They offer a "free oil change" if you give them a good review and recommend your friends. Don't let your friends get fucked in the ass. Go somewhere else. read more

I call a few days later, price went up again saying needed another part. 2 weeks later, finally my car is ready. Price went up to nearly 1500 and after getting home looking at the bill, which he did not go over with me. All quotes were over the phone. A few parts he said he worked on were not listed, had old parts on car and charged for work I did not approve. Confused and very scared. I am homeless, this is my home and I had to borrow money to pay this guy. And then he tells me it needs another $2k of work, work I initially brought in for and said that wasn't the issue. I was in a bind, I drove in from the Bay Area and barely made it to the repair shop because the plastic cover that was covering the bottom of my engine on my Passat was dragging on the ground for about 5 miles before Modesto. My car just completely turned off when I was on the road yesterday....I literally was looking for a good cheap but still good mechanic to give my car a diagnostist to see what the problem is. Rafael was the cheapest I found but with a great deal offering. He said the diagnosists was 85, not only that but whatever is wrong with the car from that diagnosists, he will take that same 85 i payed with and put it on whatever the car needs to be repaired. I havent found one car place that has done that for me. And even if the repair was more than the 85, i can pay the difference. Like wow thats a really good deal.
