I actually first started working with someone from Destify, but the communication just wasn't there for me. I found this site from a simple Google search and as soon as I reached out, I heard back from someone and from there I was set. I first worked with Miriam, who helped me set up my site tours and help me figure out where I even wanted to go. She really help me focus in and figure out what I wanted to do. After I figured it out the resort I wanted to use she helped me with the communication with the resort, getting the contract signed, and even getting a room block set up, which I initially wasn't sure about, but I must say it was one of the best decisions we made during this planning process . So she was always there for some great advice. She then connected me to Leticia, who took the rest from there and help me with getting my website set up for my guests to book their rooms and get all the information about the wedding from. They put up the site so quickly and made it so easy and seamless for my guest to book or ask questions. Because everything was through email I always had tons of questions and they were always so quick to answer me and treat me like I was their only client because of how great their service was. Everyone at Hola Weddings , even if one of my planners was not in the office was always great about getting back to me and treating me with such kindness . When planning a wedding there's a lot of things that you may stress it out, but they make everything on their end so easy!! They sent out the travel information to us once everything was booked and getting close to the wedding and the service they used for our pick up and drop off was excellent at communication and getting us to and from the resort I couldn't have asked for better. Our guests constantly told us how easy it was to get questions answered throughout the whole process. All I can say is how genuinely grateful I am to them for all of their services and all of their help it made a world of difference in our process and our wedding !!

We had a general idea of which city in Mexico we wanted, so I started Googling highly reviewed wedding venues and reaching out to the contact emails. Most of the time, I never got a response. Then I came across a series of YouTube videos created by Hola Weddings. They were so detailed and informative--it was exactly what I needed without having to travel. I reached out to Hola Weddings, and without hesitation, they immediately helped me connect with different venues and gather pricing. I wasn't even a client yet, and they still went out of their way to assist me. I later had the opportunity to speak with one of the leads about what they do and what it would look like to work with them. At the time, I had no idea just how essential their role would become. I chose them because they were incredibly kind and genuinely helpful, and I figured it couldn't hurt to have extra support. Wow--what a blessing that decision turned out to be. Once you start coordinating with resorts and managing guest travel, you quickly realize how important it is to have a team like this behind you. The main lobby is right off the road which is light years from the main eating areas and even further from the beach. I heard checking in is a slow nightmare. We went last week, beginning of the off season, with only 2 people in front of us, 1 which cut the line. It took a good 20 min to check in. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by a welcome person. They do not work there. They are time share people. Super friendly and accommodating but with the sole goal to get you to sign and commit to sit for 90 minutes the next morning. They will not take no for an answer and will haunt you every waking moment of your trip if you don't get aggressively assertive and to them to F off. If you do relent and sit for their torture, opt for the $120 cash in hand, not some crappy massage. The "family rooms" where we foolishly booked are 2nd furthest from the food and beach. While the rooms are old but nice, we were put on the 3rd floor w a broken elevator. Only 2 in each building. The other one right on cue broke on day 2. The best part, I walked in the elevator with my son while 3 maintainence guys watched and didn't say I word. The doors closed and we didn't move. I banged. They didn't say a word. My son began to get scared. I grabbed the seam of the doors and ripped it open and luckily got out. I recounted this part of the story to the front staff each time and they just smiled and nodded. I went to the front desk 3x to complain asking for a room change as I had a heavy stroller to bring up and down multiple times a day. They all yessed me to death and no one took action. "Oh the manager is not here." One didn't even ask my name or room #. The best part is concierge called to see how the trip was. When I told him my issue, he said call the front desk. Good for nothing I told him! My 5th attempt was a different call from concierge and she had no prior knowlegdge of my previous 4 attempts for help which is even more insane, but luckily I got FERNANDA. Finally someone who listened and helped fix a problem. Not a mindless uncaring robot zombie. She had me upgraded to a villa the next morning. Albeit still the furthest villa from the action, at least she cared and helped which is light years beyond the rest of the front desk staff. BUENO PARA NADA. Good for nothing. The villa was delightful. Spacious, cold clean water in the room (the family room only provided tepid water under the guise of "conservation"), hot showers all the time (again, unlike the family rooms). Way better all around. Onto the good. The food was very good all around. The buffet had countless options that rotated for all meals every day. The lunch buffet was the same but always delicious for a pool side break. They have half a dozen restaurants you need to book but as we went beginning of Sept, they are walk in--first come, first serve. All were delightful from Mexican and French to Indian and Italian. Service from waitstaff and bartenders was exceptional all around. They also have a coffee shop and pseudo chipotle in the main area that are open most of the day and night--both air-conditioned oasis to go hide out in as there is no cool air anywhere else to be found. The beach sand and chair set up was also delightful. They even have free kayaks. The seaweed problem which is rampant thru out the area was present so the ocean was lackluster but that is not the fault of the hotel. They cleaned it daily as best they could. Another downside was the limited places to eat and drink. It's all inclusive but you can't take food to go and the open spots to get food and grub are limited. The Kids Club was never open as well as some other pool side spots (like a small gaming area that we passed every day but couldn't utilize). The heat was brutal and yet in the "Guest Services" area which is the outpost lobby by the buffet where the time share vultures nest, there is no AC or fans. Spend $500 and cool off the literal heart of the hotel! The main pool bar is also sub par. It's a great pool and awesome kids area with slides and water features. Put a fresh can of paint, throw up a flat screen, and put some neon lights! The main stage is a sauna petri dish too. Put some high power fans up for your customers! It's not brain surgery. Overall, the food was good, the kids had fun. I walked prob 5 miles in 5 days. The waiters and bartenders were excellent. The front desk was useless. The time share vampires were relentless, the pools were awesome but the ocean was dirty. Don't come if you are looking for 5-star 4 seaons. Wedding Review:…read more After searching for months for the perfect all inclusive resort in Mexico to host our wedding, we decided on The Reef Playacar and it was the best decision we ever made. From the very beginning we were assigned a wedding coordinator to help us plan our special day. Vicky not only became our coordinator, but she also became a great friend. She was not only patient, but attentive and helped immensely with making every dream detail we had become a reality. She helped me get in touch with all the necessary local vendors such as florist, baker, DJ etc and made sure to outline what was included in our package so there were no hiccups or surprises. As part of our package, we got to experience the resort ahead of time as well so we could tour the property and taste food for our wedding menu. That was such a special experience and we were grateful to be able to experience the resort in advance so we could get a better idea of our planning needs and how the big day would go. As for the wedding itself, our day couldn't have been any more perfect. The ceremony was exactly how I envisioned it, a romantic tropical setup with beautiful florals. Then the reception was elegant with candles galore, a light up dance floor on the beach, and lots of string lights. It was too good to be true and I'm so happy with how it all turned out. The food, the music, and all the little decor extras I added were perfectly executed as well. I really appreciate the attention to detail! We had 75 guests total and every single one of them said this was the best destination wedding they'd ever been to. Regarding rates, the resort offers multiple wedding packages all with discounted room block rates for your wedding guests which not only made the wedding itself affordable for our budget, but the rooms affordable for our guests as well. The resort is small but very beautiful. The grounds were well taken care of, I loved the jungle feel and immediate access to the beach cant be beat. I will say the food was okay, dinner options were great, the buffet and snack bar during breakfast and lunch were not the best but again what I expected for an all inclusive. I loved that there were fun little activities every day and the staff was all so kind. I honestly need to do a separate review for my friend's wedding because I was honestly blown away by the decor, the staff, the food, everything about the wedding was absolutely stunning and exceeded my expectations of what I thought a destination wedding would be like.

The resort is next door (walking distance from beach near ferry) to Senior Frogs and Hard Rock Cafe! My family enjoyed themselves. We even booked a complimentary photoshoot at the beach to capture the memorable experience . Few cons: No AC in certain areas of the resort, like the buffet area and the area near the indoor bar. Their kids club needs more fun stuff to lure kids to stay. And....watch for random charges. For example, during checkout, they automatically charge you a $10 "donation" fee. I eliminated it from my bill but missed it on my mom's. The pool closes early! I imagined myself hanging in a hot tub reading a book :( Super perk: you get access to Cozumel Palace. That resort is absolutely gorgeous. Pools and access to the Sea to snorkel is a must! Do it! Download the APP and you can request certain items: extra toothpaste, toothbrush, roll in bed, beer, champagne , toilet paper and room service! Customer service is great! Bring cash to tip. They notice and take care of you again when they see you. Interesting fact: My husband was not feeling well. I paid for a $100 doctor to check him out. So you have an option where you want to be based on your interest. Night shows were great with some fantastic performers. I wish that there was more Mexican themed shows or music but I guess they try to accommodate that the majority of guests were from Canada and USA. Some of the restaurants rotate being open for dinner. Your best bet is to make reservations ahead of time. You can always show up but might have to wait depending on the time. Overall food was good. Drinks were ok but as a social drinker, I wasn't impressed with my 1-2 drinks/day during my stay. I think I had one drink that I found really good. Beach area is not private and you might have people approach you to sell you stuff or services. A polite "no, thank you" works great. Location and proximity to 5th Avenue made it a great place to explore the area. Although filled with tourists, you also get some local interactions. I would come back to this resort in the future.
