Prior to getting married, I was glued to a show called "Platinum Weddings". The wedding that caught my eye involved a cave reception in a Mayan ruin...The cave was surrounded by crystal blue water and it could fit up to 400 people or still be intimate enough for 75. I made it my quest to find the coordinators for this event. I found SOLEN, the "Event Masterminds"...and what a gem of a find. I spoke with Claudia Alanis Rios who immediately won me over. She is very professional, honest, sweet, detail-oriented, loves her job and is extremely creative. She takes your ideas and makes them a reality greater than what you could have ever imagined. She surprised me with extra little perks that she knew would just melt my heart, never charging me an extra penny and just doing it because she knew it would add a special touch. She helped me with ideas that I never knew were even possible. The biggest perk is that she studied in San Diego, she is a chef and a wine aficionado. She speaks perfect english and has impeccable taste. Planning a wedding in Mexico from the US is very difficult, especially when you want something that is a little non-conventional and unique (like a cave wedding). You don't know vendors, you can't really strike a bargain from afar and you want someone like a David Tutera that you can trust to just make it all happen. I never stressed. Claudia kept me posted almost daily about all the details...and she stressed for me. I only traveled to Mexico once for a food tasting and to pick table settings and flowers....the rest which included: coordinating lodging for all of my guests, airport travel, shuttles to the wedding, rehearsal dinner, cocktail party, post-wedding catamaran snorkeling cruise....was all handled by SOLEN and if you can believe it...the amount of money that I spend for one week in Mexico for the wedding, my family's travel, their hotel stay and post wedding fun was equivalent to what I would have spent for a one day wedding in Los Angeles. I can go on and on. Contact them if you are considering getting married essentially anywhere in Mexico, they have contacts everywhere. Best part about it, they don't just coordinate weddings...they are the "go-to" planners for many corporate events & concerts. Zen the more jungle focused hotel was Also beautiful. All inclusive 24 hour room service unlimited food and drinks and refillable mini bar. Cocina de autor which is a Michelin star restaurant was amazing , the wine pairing is extra but it's worth it. Piaf has great French food , Frida , Luca , sen Lin and Chaka are kid friendly I missed Chaka but the other three are really excellent. The bistro at grand class is great and azule is a great more casual buffet. There multiple bars the pools and the beach which is beautiful have food and drink service. Some activities are included and the spa is beautiful. My suite was over 1000 square feet with a plunge pool on my balcony. Getting chairs early is key at the pool and the beach. There are bars a coffee shop multiple boutiques gyms and activities. One of my favorite was catch of the day on the beach for lunch . There is a kids and teens club and a kids spa. Beautiful place for a wedding, I saw multiple during my stay. The food is really good! They have a mini golf course most of the year. There is night security and the resort is gated. They have mocktails as well as cocktails. The staff is really friendly. Tipping is optional but tipping in American money is recommended it will get charged to your card. There are three pools not including the spa. One at the grand class ( adult only) , zen, and the ambassador. The ambassador and grand class are walking distance from each other. This resort attracts more than Americans. It's beautiful and a world class resort.

Spent New Year's Eve waiting in line for a fake Covid test: when I arrived at the festival 30 mins…read morebefore midnight, we were told we had to wait in line to do a Covid test. Nothing mentioned about this on the website when I booked the tickets. The line was crazy busy, thousands of people crammed together with no masks waiting to get a Covid test. This was actually the first time in Mexico I was seriously worried I would getting Covid. Once it was midnight, I was still stuck in the line. When I finally got to take the tests, the organizers sent me in without even waiting for the results. They came about 30 mins later when I was already on thr dance floor. Obviously this Covid test is just fine to scam everyone out of $40 not to prevent Covid!!

We ordered drinks beachside and everything was delicious, the lobster was super fresh, and came out quickly. Lunch was great as well. The service was fantastic. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and always checked on us without being overbearing. They made us feel welcome from the moment we got there. Overall, it was such a perfect spot to relax, enjoy the beach, and have great food and drinks in Tulum. Highly recommend Akiin Beach Club and I absolutely cannot wait to go back next time!

I liked the beach beds. They did have an event the day we went but it was early, low attendance, felt like we paid a cover (albeit low) for nothing extra. Sometimes all inclusive hotels can feel gimmicky, like being on a cruise ship or something. This was not that at all. This was a high end experience from start to finish. The hotel service and facilities are impeccable. I was blown away by the care they take to tend to each guest. I was only there for a few days and people took the effort to learn my name and my personal preferences. To start, the room was incredible. I stayed in a suite and it had a juccuzi right inside the room and an ocean view with a hammock. The room also came with a mini bar which was restocked daily (although you could also call and request anything at any time). Every day they had a different schedule of activities for guests with quality entertainment (not tacky acts). They had all all white party with a circus one day which was fun, a foam party, bull riding and more. The food deserves its own review. It exceed my expectations by a lot. They had several food options to choose from, including an Asian restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant, a mexican restaurant a cafe and a global buffet. The restaurants were all open extended hours until 10 or 10:30 so there were always food options available. The global buffet did different themed dinners every night. Of the restaurants, I liked all but I'd say the Mediterranean was the most high quality. The preparation and taste was on par with any top NYC restaurant. The octopus dish was especially memorable. Second favorite was probably the Mexican restaurant. They have a chef from Oaxaca who makes a great mole. At each restaurant, the managers always made an effort to stop by my table to make sure I had what I needed. The employees genuinely care about serving you and they do it gladly. Sometimes you go to places where the employees are disgruntled or have a bad attitude. Not the case here at all. Everyone seemed generally happy and in a good mood. It felt like most of the people here were celebrating something, whether a bachelorette party or birthday, but it didn't feel overall raucous or anything. They had a silent disco one night and I think that also helped with any potential late night noise issues. I was really impressed with how well curated the schedule of activities was. Additionally, the hotel was very clean. When I first got in, people were mopping. They're constantly changing pool towels that are left out. Everything was spotless. The sheets were crisp and white. My room was changed to my liking. No complaints. One of the better places I've stayed. I would definitely come back in a heart beat. I loved it here!

No night activities except one evening they had a silent DJ during the day they had a few activities I did participate in bingo and some crafts!!! Tbh I shouldn't even be complaining I'm blessed I can go all over the world vacationing I'm in good health good job car and house going to these places seeing the workers everyday and night wearing different hats throughout the day smiling never complaining just makes me even more grateful but yeah Zilara was beautiful boring I'll never go back!!!
