This is my go-to tanning spot. Before I started tanning, I was always a bit skeptical of some salons because I wasn't sure how clean they would be. When this salon opened, I decided to check it out and bite the bullet. When you walk in, you can tell that the salon is well maintained and managed. It is very clean and bright, and you can almost always hear the laundry going on in one of the side rooms. Yay! Clean towels! Not just that, but I always see a cleaning lady wiping down the beds. More evidence! You can buy single tanning sessions, or you can buy packages. The packages are either for multiple sessions in one type of bed, or points that you can use to buy sessions on whatever bed you want. They also sell lotions and bronzers, which is nice. They scan your fingerprint to access your account (so high tech!), and it lists what beds you've used, the time you spent in it, and also whatever other purchases you've made. Nella did a custom airbrush tan for me before an event and she did an amazing job! The color turned out perfectly and the tan itself was very even. I've had problems with airbrush tans fading splotchy in the past but I love the formula she used! It faded perfectly, exactly like a natural tan does. I am livid about "Kool Rays." I went in for a Mystic Tan. I've had this tan done several times so I knew to exfoliate and not apply lotion before the process. Never have I streaked like I did at "Kool Rays." The girl working the desk (Lilith) suggested that I buy a mitt (the nerve of trying to make more $ off of me) or to go buy a Sally Hansen airbrush spray to correct the errors of their Mystic Tan booth. Why should I have to go and shell out more cash for their errors?! Does that make ANY sense?! I suppose on any typical day I wouldn't be this upset but seeing that I trusted them to provide me with great service before having to stand in front of a whole bunch of people for a wedding has gotten me steamed. After getting home, I called Lilith several times who very inconsiderately placed me on hold (and the line would disconnect, of course) only to tell me that I would need to speak with her manager. Great, let's do that. The manager is only there 1x/wk so I requested a name and number to reach this manager. "Sorry, I can't give you the name of our manager." What kind of shady operation is this?! Why can't the manager's name be released? That's the shadiest thing I've ever heard. The employee can't do anything about my situation, the manager is there once a week, what is a consumer supposed to do? I can't believe how ridiculous this place is. Don't go. Don't do it. I've already reported them to the BBB and will demand a refund for their shoddy job. read more

Walked in my first time and was actually surprised of how professional this play looks for a tanning salon. I have to admit I use to never tan until a friend of mine recommended me to this place. So I go in i'm afraid of getting burned I have 0 clue of what lotions to get, but thank god for their staff. Selina was the one who helped me overcome my fear of tanning so I signed up for a monthly plan, she helped narrow down my skin type to know which lotion I should be using and I feel comfortable now and not afraid of tanning. Nevertheless, I book all my appointments with Selina because of her positive energy & outgoing personality. I started going there to tan about one year ago.I am not as healthy as I would like to be and haven't been in as often as I normally would have been The place is spotless so very clean. The entire staff are nothing but professional and extremely friendly.I called yesterday and thought maybe I will try the spray tanning. Nalla answered the phone and said "Come on in I will be happy to help you". It was such short notice.When I got home she called me to let me know I had left my neckless there and she put it aside for me. The spray tan came out so great she "Nalla" even called me this morning to make sure all was well and to make sure I was happy with her service. I'm upset - I really like this place and was a long time member. Unfortunately I had a terrible case of identity theft after my purse had been stolen and the thief had taken out accounts in my name, drained my savings, use my credit cards and was also using my identification. It was a really ugly situation and my bank advised that everything be turned off and changed, which is pretty normal. I had an ongoing membership with this place and I had put it on a temporary hold because I was working out of town. When you put your account on hold they still charge you 3.95 a month which I continued to pay. When my account got shutdown by the bank because of the identity theft my bank sent letters to all of the regular merchants to automatically debit my account. With all the things that were going on with this horrible problem at all of the things I had to address and businesses I had to call - not to mention filing police reports etc. - I had forgotten to call Kool Rays to get them there $3.95 during the month it happened because I wasn't even using the membership number one, I had so many huge and pressing issues with the identity theft that the tanning place I wasn't currently going to was not in the forefront of my mind number two. Long story short, the next month I come back and I want to use my account. They informed me that I have not paid my 3.95 from the month before. I explained the situation, apologized and show them that I had paid that amount by automatic debit for the three months prior to last. This wasn't something I was trying to scam them on or get out of. The girl behind the counter acted really weird and told me she would not be able to reinstate my account. She wouldn't give me a reason why she just told me that I had to call the manager the next day. I took down his number and I also left my number for him. I never heard back from him. I called again the next day, he wasn't there and no one had called me back after leaving my number again. I ended up calling a total of four times trying to get a hold of this guy Who - from what I can guess did not see it as a priority to call me back even though I have been a loyal customer for over a year. Upon my fourth phone call the girl who answered the phone explained to me that her manager instructed her not to let me have an account there anymore because I had Close my credit card due to fraudulent charges. I explained to her that my card was being closed due to identity theft and fraudulent charges as a whole. Not that I had sent a claim stating that they are business was fraudulently charging me. I spent another two weeks trying to rectify the situation and explain what had happened to no avail. No one called me back, no one made it a priority, no one seem to care. It's a little shocking that a company you've been loyal to for over a year would suddenly turn around and Sean you because you had a patch of bad luck and someone had stolen your identity. Someone stole from me. This was not something I had done. I am being punished for what the thief did to me. In the end I just realized that this company was showing their true colors - they don't care about their customers individually and they definitely don't care about giving good customer service or someone would have called me back to explain and not made me call multiple times just to get an answer. I think it's terrible that they would do this to a customer - I'm not even sure if it's legal but whatever. I guess I don't want to give my hard-earned money to a company who doesn't hold up their end of the bargain. Why was I even paying you any kind of $3.95 fee at all when you were just going to shut down my account? I held up my end of the bargain - I paid you money for nothing, even if it was a small amount - and you couldn't even call me back. Terrible terrible customer service. read more

After my coworker told me she has tried everything under the sun except the infared body wrap we were like why not try it. So we bought a deal on living social and it couldn't have been a better deal. We both LOVED it and are definitely going back. The girl that worked there was extremely nice and checked on us every 15 min to make sure we were ok. The best part is that they have Netflix so you don't even realize you are sweating your tushy off for 50 min. Can't wait to go back and sweat the toxins out again!!!! read more

I should disclose I am no rookie to the bodywrap experience. I have done several treatments in several different locations. Although, doing just 1 treatment may help with water retention, it really will not make much of a difference in weight, joint/muscle relief, or cellulite reduction. They really do work best when multiple wraps are done consecutively. With this in mind, I purchased the 5 for $85 at Sun Spa. Like most locations they have a very strict cancellation policy so I took the time to reorganize the work schedule, coordinate the sport schedules for my children and checked it against their available appointments before i purchased. It was not an easy task to squeeze in 1 hour appointments for 5 entire days for myself, but since it was my birthday month I decided it was worth the sacrifice of time away from my family. Wrap #1 - Sun Spa called to cancel my appointment LESS THAN ONE HOUR before appt. The "wrap" was broken and there was nothing they can do. Now, if tables were turned & there was an emergency an hour before on my end, they would have charged me. There was not much consideration for the waste of my time since I had moved around my schedule to ensure I would have no problems making it on time, not to mention, I had already planned out and scheduled all wraps so they would occur consecutively for maximum results. Wrap #2 - went well, but didn't sweat as much as I would have liked. I do attribute this to my own body's reaction and not necessarily the treatment/equipment. Wrap #3 - I was excited to be getting the new equipment as I hoped it would heat up faster and better but I was very wrong. There seemed to be heat on the right side but no heat on the left side or even on the portion under your lower back. It almost felt cold. I mentioned this to the girl and she said that she felt it hot outside just to give it more time. I complained every time she came in that it was not heating up but she insisted that it was at highest setting and was new equipment. I DID NOT EVEN BREAK A SWEAT!!! Did I mention I wear a plastic suit!! It's almost impossible not to sweat in sunny California in a plastic suit wrapped in a thick "sleeping bag" like cover with a blanket on top. Wrap #4 - It was same girl as day before & said she spoke to her manager & figured out that this wrap has sections and the temperature has to be set for each section. She assured me she NOW knew how to work the equipment and it would be fine. Again the heat was not being felt everywhere. I had pushed myself against the right side, where there was heat just to try and sweat. I explained over and over that it was not heating everywhere and she said that she was sure she set it right and to give it longer. I began to just sweat when the timer went off and session was over. I asked if she could just add 10 minutes since it was not heating (for 2 days now) and I was just starting to feel enough heat to sweat. She said she was not allowed to do that. Wrap #5 - this time she placed me in the room with the old wrap and today it worked fantastic! I walked out drenched. I was physically able to wring out my socks when I was done and continued to sweat long after I was dressed on driving home! Wrap #1 - (which they cancelled & rescheduled) This wrap was 3 days later. This was the 1st available appt that I was able to make. This time it was a different girl working. I requested the older equipment since I had had trouble with the new one each time. She said she had just put someone else in the other room but assured me that she knew how to work the equipment and confirmed the settings were trickier on this new wrap. I told her I had a bad experience twice already and really would prefer to come back when the other room was available but she continued to assure me it would work as intended. IT DID NOT! Again the left side was not heating at all. She did actually take the time to stick her hand inside and feel for herself, which she was able to confirm. She said she was going to call her manager but meanwhile my time in this cold wrap is passing. She was never able to get a hold of anyone before my time was up. I did not sweat at all! She was at least more attentive in trying to resolve the issue but its been several days and I have not heard one word from anyone! This was a complete waste of money!!! Not only did they cancel my first appointment with no consideration, they put me in non-working wraps 3 out of the 5 times. They made no effort to make up any of their wrong doings - not even when all I asked for was 10 minutes longer. This is a tanning spa, and that might be what they specialize in because they sure dont have the proper equipment or knowledge of wraps. As an example, they told me that maybe I wasn't sweating because I had on a plastic suit! The plastic suit is designed to increase the sweating! That is wrap 101! read more
