OK. I have to admit that I am a tanning snob. My expectations are really high since I have been tanning for years. My friends have been going to Kool Rays since the 90's (I guess they are one of the first tanning salons in Glendale) and they always been raving about how great it is... so I decided to try it for myself. Wow ! The salon is absolutely beautiful and they truly set the bar up when it come to a tanning experience. The girls at the front desk been so nice and helpful, making sure that I feel very comfortable and all my questions are answered. Their tanning beds are so advance (much more impressive then other salons in the area). Their "Matrix" bed look like something from a futuristic movie and the results were incredible. The place is probably the cleanest salon that I ever seen in all my years of tanning (and I have seen some dirty ones) and it truly felt like being at an upscale spa with the quality of service to match. And the best surprise was the prices !! they have a pretty wide range of prices and specials that they run all the time. The girlie was so helpful and knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect package for me within my budget (I got their monthly membership for only 25 a month) and I absolutely love my results since I started. Over all. I can see how they have been in business for over 20 years by maintaining these high standards. I guess like my friends, I became a Kool Rays fan myself. My favorite body wrap spot !! I went there last month and purchase few of their infrared body wrap treatments. First of all the place looks beautiful and truly feels like being in a modern spa. The girl at the front was super friendly and knowledgable. She explained to me the whole process, the benefits and the preparation for the treatment. She really took her time, answer all my questions and made me feel very comfortable since I never tried this treatment before. The body wrap room was beautiful, very soothing, spacious and clean and on top of that they have a tv in each private treatment room - so I got to watch my favorite show on Netflix !:) After few treatments I already notice such a big different and I got so many complements !!! Just love my new look :) The only advice that I have - make sure that you maintain a healthy diet if you want the treatment to be very effective. love this tanning salon ... love the fact that they have the best beds in town they have the airbrush booth that i love and they have the body wraps i have tried everything out in the salon and i love it ... now i am on the body wraps and obsessing over it i am lazy to go to the gym so this is the best option for me and its so relaxing everyone is so friendly and they keep everything very clean thank you to the girls that work there !!! I called last week to get some info and pricing on memberships, the girl that helped me over the phone misinformed me on prices after I went in everything changed. Didn't tell me that they charge membership fee on top of monthly charge and tax which was way more expensive than what I was told. I told her I was upset because I waisted my time going in and out of nowhere she started talking about their competition salon down the street and that how rude they are and don't give prices over the phone basically she was bashing them because I was upset about being misinformed. Very unprofessional and awkward in my opinion. I didn't sign up I left. They need to be honest when giving prices over the phone. read more

I think it's actually Kool Rays. I have been going here for five years. Not all the time, infrequently and for special occasions. The establishment is large with many rooms and is very clean. I rarely have to wait. The employees are all very friendly and know what their talking about. They won't allow you to go in too long and risk burning. The beds are well maintained and there is a variety including a mystic tan. There are many different options for payments, one time tans, packages, points system, membership...there are enough options. I work a lot and rarely get to the beach or anywhere to tan, this place is convenient in Glendale and never lets me down. read more

I went to Kool Rays Tanning last week for an airbrush session. First of all the place looks very chic and modern, very well designed. Truly makes you feel like a pampering experience. The place was very clean, something that is seems that is very hard to find in other salons. The most important thing is that their staff was so professional and informative, they made me feel so comfortable and answer all the thousand and one questions that I had about airbrush tanning. The results were amazing ! I loved how my golden tan looks and all the great compliments that I got on it. I am definitely going back for more ! Out of the numerous tanning salons I have been to, Kool Rays is my absolute favorite! The second you walk in, you are greeted by one of their WONDERFUL and helpful staff members. You can tell the place is very well kept and organized. Before I started tanning, I was pale and right after the first tanning session, which I went for 12 minutes, I could see a darker result. Other places I had to go a good 3-4 times before realizing I'm getting any darker. The rooms are as clean as it gets and it just makes me feel so comfortable. I came here for a spray tan before shooting a movie and I was nervous because people always joke about how spray tans make you look orange. I did the custom airbrush and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't orange and it looked very natural. The girl who sprayed me gave me some pointers to make my tan last longer and she even contoured my stomach, calves and arm muscles. I've never had that done before. I was so happy, it made me looked more tone on camera! So anyone who has a photoshoot or a film they are shooting I highly recommend getting a custom airbrush tan. read more

I really think Kool Rays is a very nice, classy, and clean spa for tanning. I only tan once in a while only because I like natural tanning better... However, the staff are supper friendly and I love their standing bed I hate laying down and getting all sweaty... I highly recommend this place... Oh and they have parking in the back :) read more
