We have been going to Koo's Kitchen for at least 20 years and in the last month it seems to have gone down hill. A few weeks ago we ordered on-line they did not make our food till we got there and paid for it and then we waited 45 mins. We ordered tonight and we got there and they gave the order to someone else, so we waited for about 30 mins because they said they would remake it. So we are waiting there and here comes the person with the order, so they take the food back and give the person a good discount. We get up there in the long line again and they don't offer a good discount to us. So husband complained, the lady snatches the food and walks away. He continued to complain and we finally got a discount. We get home portion size was half of what it usually is, it was cold. Worse experience ever. We will not go back. read more

One of the worst meals we had an a long time. The dumplings were soggy seemed like they had been sitting around for awhile. The hot and sour soup has no heat and was extremely gluttonous. We couldn't even finish the fried rice and main meal. My husband said the egg roll was terrible. Just an awful meal. read more

Used to love this place. Ordered take out a few weeks ago. After getting home noticed there was a dead mosquito on top of one of the boxes. Stupid me left the paper bag sitting on the counter all night (no food in it) but when I woke up there was a dead cockroach on the floor. I love the eggdrop wonton mixed soup from here!!!! The prices are fab and the food is ready in a snap. Ideal for pick up to take home and eat. It is a hole in the wall type of location in a strip mall, with an open kitchen where you can see all of the inner workings of the food prep. There is limited seating inside as this place is mostly just the kitchen. I see most people just picking up food to take home. Whenever I am in the mood for good Chinese take out - I go here. read more

Our first experience with Koo's. Ordered chicken curry, beef n brocolli, steamed dumplings, egg rolls, shrimp fried rice, eggs drop and wonton soup and the sweet donuts. Food was fresh, meat was tender, veggies vs meat ratio impressive, donuts were super, not overly sweet! Great job! Well be back! Koo's is a take-out Chinese restaurant with (literally) a couple of tables. Linoleum floor, zero ambience. I imagine 95% of their business is take-out. They are located in a small storefront in an older strip mall. You can park right outside their door. We've bought take-out from Koo's for 6 or 8 years. As far as I can tell, none of the kitchen staff speaks any English, so they may seem unresponsive (other reviewers say "rude", "unpleasant"), but I think that may be due to the language barrier. In my experience, the only English-speaker is the cashier. When I started buying there, she was a 10- or 12-year-old and it was kind of cute. The food has never been better than average, although quantities were substantial. In the past year or two, they shrank the size of the lunch specials, but the quantities were reasonable. Also, in the same time period, the quality seemed to slip and the amount of grease seemed to rise. On our last buy there, about a month or so ago, the quality was bad enough that we decided to look elsewhere. I may have been spoiled by working near an excellent Chinese place in Atlanta and before that in Evanston, IL, but Koo's just doesn't cut it for me any more. read more

First off if I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT EAT HERE. Our entire family including kids and dogs got food poising from here. Called the next day just to explain the situation in hope no one else would get served bad food and that hopefully I could get a refund at least an apology. I spoke to four people on the phone and one after another they all handed the phone to someone else. The last person I spoke with told me there was nothing they could do and he makes everything fresh. I explained that I didn't feel it was a coincidence that our entire family was (sorry tmi) shitting and puking their brains out. Writing this review in hopes no one else gets sick and screwed out of $65 dollars like I was. Seriously no joke I wouldn't eat here. You could pay me any amount to eat here again. Clean, fast and friendly service. They make the best shrimp & lobster sauce I've ever had. Having worked in the original Koos restaurant for Peter Koo and his family over 30 years ago in Englewood I am so happy to see that they are making it the same way the original Koo's did. read more

This was my first and last visit here. Ordered Twice cooked Pork which is one of my favorites. Couldn't find any meat til my wife pointed out the same "meat" in the Hot and Sour soup which was Very thin strips of whatever. Tasted like beef to me but the strips were so thin I really could not tell. The "crisps" for the soup were anything but crisp but very stale. And what is with all Chinese restaurants and green peppers? FILLER! I do not believe Chinese people would include them in their meals. Also, why is EVERY Chinese menu exactly the same? read more

This place is bad, I've only gone twice but both times chicken fingers would make u sick just to look at them. They looked maybe like freezer burn but also 1/2 inch of oil in the bottom of the carton. Egg rolls are more like spring rolls, greasy also. When I moved to the area back in 2014 I could not find a good Chinese food take out. I found Koo's Kitchen in Tiffany Square after checking out a dentist in the plaza. Koo's has the best Chinese take out in the area. This is a "take out" kind of place with a few tables. It's Not a restaurant type atmosphere it's primarily "take out". So, any previous opinions about "ambiance" are perhaps misguided. Not the same category. read more

Fantastic food in the small storefront of a little plaza. It looks like the type of place where you'd get cheap, greasy take out.... Only the food is great! I've eaten there or had take-out probably a dozen times. It's consistently terrific! You will not be disappointed. read more
