From Incheon to San Fran they hand out small size bottled water twice. Sometimes they give you an entire can of beverage and other times only a poured cup portion. Personally, meals were tastier going to Incheon. Coming back to USA mostly a darkened sleeping flight. I started watching episodes on Copenhagen Test. Not sure if toilets were freshened during the 11 or 9 hour 57 minute flights as wet floors, definitely not water. They provide one sanitizing wipe as you enter the plane, an unusual configured pillow and a good blanket both ways.

We arrived with three young children and none of our belongings. This completely disrupted our travel plans. We had planned to continue traveling after arrival, but without clothing, personal items, and essential belongings, we were forced to change our plans and spend valuable vacation time dealing with a problem that should never have happened. The communication throughout the process was frustrating, and the compensation offered did not feel proportionate to the impact this had on our family. Traveling with young children is already challenging. Arriving with none of your checked luggage makes it exponentially more difficult. I am sharing this experience so that other families can make informed travel decisions and ensure they keep essential items in their carry-on luggage whenever possible. Unfortunately, after this experience, I have lost confidence in flying with United Airlines.

I flew once in 2025 and for not having flown over the Pacific in over 20 years, I'd say my experience was mostly positive...and i flew regular coach level. I had no delays and even an hour and a half early on my arrival time on the way back, which I don't think ever happened in my lifetime. It did cause a commotion for my friend who was picking me up, but I didn't mind waiting, as long as I was back safely. Service is what it is. Some employees are meh whilst others are great. I did find the airport employees much more friendly and eager to help at the Manila airport than the SF airport. But service out there in general is much more service oriented. I found the flight attendants to be all business, not much personable interactions, but I can understand as the volume they do is just insane. They are very efficient in tasks however. I found the comfort level a mixed bag. Coach seating is definitely cramped, you have to sleep/nap in that sitting position. Seat reclines just a tad. They do give blankets and small pillows. I'm a fairly easy sleeper, so I napped a good 4-5 hours in total for each flight. Each flight was 13 hours, no stops or layovers. I specifically chose this airlines for their many options of non-stop flights. You can go business class or even higher and those definitely has more leg room, but for a short stint (relatively) I couldn't justify spending an extra grand or so for luxurious comfort. The food is also a mixed bag. Some were good, some not so good. Airline food to me is basically cafeteria food anyway. They gave out 3 meals during that 13 hour flight, which I felt was overboard, as to consume that many calories for just sitting and napping in one spot, just felt unbalanced to me. I only ate 2 of those meals and declined 1 as I was usually napping. The best meal I had was a longanisa breakfast that was simply prepared. That was the only meal I ate in it's entirety. Every seat has it's own monitor where you can watch shows or movies or listen to music to your own discretion. This wasn't around or at least with this much freedom some 20+ years ago when I last took this flight. The cooler part is you can also track your flight in real time anytime you want. It was mostly dark on both flights but it was cool to see how much time was left or where exactly you were on that path. I would scan this feature almost hourly. An average flight on coach can be around $850 - $1000 per. Add more if you want to upgrade seating/services. And add more during the Christmas holidays by $300 -$400 or so. Each airfare a passenger is allowed to check-in 2 baggage, each one no more than 50 lbs. I would say about 90% of passengers use this to bring boxes of goods back to their families, as there are many things that are taken for granted out here but are seen as luxuries out there. So part of that airfare is literally for cargo shipment via airplane, which is a huge upgrade from shipping via cargo ship on water. Most of my family members who fly a lot more than me usually will choose another airlines as they feel it is too much of a cattle call for airline standards. I don't fly all the time so I felt it was fair for what I paid. I'm going to be in the minority amongst all their reviews, and I'm a-ok with that.

As a result, my family -- including a minor child -- was forced to remain at the airport overnight. No hotel or transportation assistance was provided. Eventually, we had no option but to return home by Uber at our own expense. Delta has since refused to reimburse our transportation costs, even though the cancellation was due to a mechanical failure, which is fully within Delta's control. Additionally, the airport staff were unprofessional and unable to provide clear assistance. For every basic question they had to make phone calls, acting only as intermediaries without authority to resolve the situation. After many hours, we were simply told that there were "no flights" available. The cancellation process itself took approximately five hours to complete, creating unnecessary stress and hardship, especially while traveling with a minor child. Delta's handling of this situation reflects a serious failure in customer care, communication, and basic passenger protection obligations. I am requesting full reimbursement of our transportation expenses and appropriate compensation for the overnight disruption caused by Delta's mechanical failure.
