I was pleased to see the Korean BBQ Taco Box truck was near our office today so I could order the same exact thing I had when they were here last week. I'd give last week's box a 4, but this week - definitely a 5! This was the busiest food truck by far today, but totally worth the 10 (still fast!) minute wait. I ordered the bulgogi box, and it came with a free little yogurt drink, which is super yummy - I used to drink these all the time when I was a kid. This is probably the only food truck I've ever walked past and could actually smell deliciousness wafting from the side of the truck. They seem to operate very efficiently as well, and the woman who takes and gives your orders is really sweet and cheerful. The bulgogi box came with freshly cooked and perfectly marinated bulgogi, a big side of rice, a nice iceberg lettuce salad with ginger dressing, a super delicious bbq chicken wing, and the free yogurt drink. Oh, it also comes with what seems to be a sliced up tempura rice roll drizzled in cheese whiz, which is a bit strange and kind of tastes like nothing, but I eat it anyway. Back to the entire meal - what a deal! And a huge portion! I probably should have only eaten half and saved the rest for later, but it's Friday so who cares. Treat yo'self! I hope they make more appearances at my workplace. This could become my weekly lunchtime splurge! read more

Probably one of the best food trucks I've been to in a while. The portions are generous, with lots of variety. For under $10, it definitely beats the other trucks in the area for overall value. I got the bulgogi rice box, which comes with a chicken wing, iceberg salad w/ ginger sesame sauce, a mini eggroll w/ yellow mayo-ish sauce, and of course .. rice. The mini eggroll thing is pretty much a 1/2 cut egg roll, which is probably one of the best things in the box. I would trade in the chicken wing for the other half of the egg roll if I could. They give you this mini yogurt drink dessert too. Solid lunch for $10. Can't go wrong with this truck. read more

Wow. This truck was soooo good. I had the Beef Bulgogi taco for $8. It was 1 big taco with the beef bolgogi, lettuce and some kind of sauce. It was very flavorful and a little sweet, which I liked. It also came with: - a little Salad with ginger dressing ... loved it - 1 delicious sweet and sour chicken wing - and some little rolls: one egg omelette with seaweed (very good), 2 fried cheese ones, 1 with chicken (very good), and one with just rice (ok, no real flavor). I had lunch here just today and I was very impressed. The service was quick and this is crucial for me when it comes to food trucks since I'm your typical entry level worker with a 30 minute lunch. I had the beef Bulgogi meal. The egg roll slices with the tangy sauce was a nice touch and were yummy. The portions were well worth it and I can't wait to try them again. They accept credit cards which is a super plus. My only gripe, not really a gripe though, is that I would prefer that the beef not have so many large onions and MORE rice, please. Awwwww Yeahhh...best food truck experience thus far. In DC for work and step outside for lunch. I'm at Metro Center so it only makes sense to shop all the food trucks on 12th street. The secret to selecting a good food truck, or any street vendor for that matter is to look for the one with the longest line in front of it. That's generally the best one to go to. Disregard the time you'll spend in line because the light at the end of that tunnel is usually damn good food! I had the bulgogi taco box that came with the salad & ginger dressing (you could taste the fresh ginger), a spicy chicken wing (perfectly sticky, hot, and sweet), two pieces of a fried cheese roll & spicy mayo (who WOULDN'T like that?), kim chi (love it), and the bulgogi taco (damn...absolutely delish). The icing on the cake was the sweet yogurt drink. First time I've had that. Let me say that that sucka was cold! Walking back to my office with that yogurt drank in my hand practically gave me frostbite! But I'd do it again. It was so worth it! read more

I got the bulgogi beef box, on the plus service was very fast and a more then generous portion between the beef, rice, salad, fried cheese and wing. The wing and sauce was really nice, and the rice good and sticky. On the down side, the ginger dressing for the salad did not have a lot of flavor and I found the actual bulgogi beef to be....not bad by any means, but not exactly good either - "meh" kind of best describes it being a tad on the sweet side. You could do a lot worse out there in food truck land..but you could also do better. read more

Food is good, they will customize if you have food issues. I get Teriyaki Chicken. Strange thing is they add $1 to the advertised prices ($9.99) for a total of $10.99, when you use a credit card, but this is not displayed anywhere. I just happened to notice when I checked my credit card statement after today's order. They don't show you the swipe receipt and they won't email you a copy of the receipt either. I hope they get back to me about this - so far they charged $2 extra (visit on 7/3/14 and visit on 7/22/14). Turns out the extra $1 on each order was tax. A simple notice on the truck that says prices do not include tax would avoid any confusion. Also recommend offering receipts via text or email. Everyone else using the iPhone card readers do it. read more

This one's good for a hungry person on a tight budget- for under $10, I got a good-sized Korean bbq pork soft taco, a semi-spicy bbq chicken wing, two fried cheese rolls, and a side salad with ginger dressing, along with a Coke. They didn't skimp on the meat, which was nice, but they might have overdone it a bit with the shredded lettuce in the taco (like a 4x1 lettuce to meat ratio), making it difficult to eat off one's lap (which you often have to do on a bench after buying from a food truck), without spillage on the shirt. Most of the time when I get Korean tacos, the tacos taste great but are really small (usually in a 3 pack) and I never feel full. When I tried Korean Taco Box today, I was immediately impressed with how large the tacos are but also the amount of food you get too. But a lot of food would be a waste if it weren't delicious but this most certainly was! The bulgogi taco was hot, fresh, and perfectly marinated. The flavors of the marinated steak and onions go so well with spicy mayo and the taco is about 8 inches. But before I delved into the taco, I ate the three other sides that came in the box which were a salad with ginger dressing, a Korean fried chicken wing that was perfectly tangy and not too spicy, and two fried cheese rolls dressed with more spicy mayo. To top it off, you're given a tiny Korean yogurt drink that tastes like bubblegum for dessert. I have to say I'm not much of a Yelper and I don't go out of my way to write reviews but this was so tasty, filling, and plentiful that I had to write a review. The KBBQBox truck is parked in our neighborhood. It is a residential area that is not zoned for Commercial vehicle parking. In Fairfax County there is a $100 fine for each transgression and towing will be at the owners expense. That is the Code. This truck does not belong in the neighborhood and devalues our homes, pure and simple. The owners are aware of this and don't care. I cannot speak to the authenticity of the food. However, I can definitely speak to how DELICIOUS the food is! Braved the cold today to get some spicy food from a food truck. This one surprisingly had no line around 12:30PM so I stopped here. Got the spicy pork. SO much food! And definitely spicy enough to keep me warm in my office. I'm a bit of a wuss so my mouth was on FIRE - I don't know if ya'll who like super spicy stuff will find it very spicy but cowards like me will find this quite spicy. But, it was exactly what I wanted. The salad with the ginger dressing was a very nice balance - I had to take a bite of that practically between each bite of spicy pork + rice. The little fried rice and meat rolls were so tasty - I could eat a whole box of just those (and I think you can actually get a box of just those). The chicken wing was tangy-sweet and incredibly tender. My only complaint would be that I wish the meat was served over the rice - it is so much food it is a bit difficult to mix it up, but I'm sure some people just want to eat the pork basically by itself, it is so good. The little frozen drink at the end was adorable and also a nice end to the meal (which I couldn't even finish). The people who work there are super nice and friendly. I got my food incredibly fast and it was $9.80 - you definitely get a lot of food for the price. I will definitely be back to try some of the other stuff! read more

My first time trying Korean BBQ & it was great. I'll definitely repeat.

This concept has so much space for amazing food, so I was really disappointed when I received my order. I ordered the bulgogi box with one large bulgogi taco, a chicken wing, side salad and a fried cheese stick. The taco included onions and iceberg lettuce with mayo. :( The bulgogi was good alone, but really messy combined with the mayonnaise sauce and the large taco. I would improve this menu by removing the salad (it was weak to begin with), chicken wing (okay, but not amazing enough to warrant eating fried food), the cheese stick and focusing ONLY on the tacos. Step one, opt for three mini tortillas instead of one huge messy one. Second, don't play me with that iceberg lettuce, load the taco with thinly sliced fresh bell pepper strips, Korean slaw and kimchi. Do not skimp on adding kimchi. (The reason I wrote this review is because I was offended by the lack of kimchi!) Add a little kimchi to the slaw (cabbage, radish, carrots) and the taco would be golden. Third, loose the mayo. It's too basic. Opt for an optional spicy version with gochujang or mild with samjang sauce instead and top the whole thing with sesame seeds for presentation. Finally, offer a crispy roasted pork belly taco and you will win the hearts and tummies of the public. Want to slay them? Top with a fried egg for an extra dollar. Now I'm going home to cook this myself. Go forth and profit. read more

The beef bulgogi is tender and tastes great and its paired with ywo pieces of fried cheese which is just heavenly, and also comes with a perfectly fried crispy hot wing. The combination is perfect. Solid food truck. I always get the teriyaki-style chicken box, which comes with salad, a single Korean bbq wing, a cheese egg roll piece, and rice. Extra star for the amount of food and the variety of tastes. Chicken is pretty basic, but hot and the sauce is both savory and sweet. The best part is the bbq chicken wing. Also, I LOVE the salad dressing, the typical northeast Asian carrot-ginger flavors. I almost forgot to mention the small bottle of liquid yogurt for dessert, which I usually give back. This is the best Korean taco truck I've experienced in the DC area, with the best tasting bulgogi of the taco trucks. I haven't tried every one yet, but I've tried several. The bulgogi was good, and it had plenty of flavor. The included chicken wing was good too. I wan't sure what to make of the friend cheese roll, but it wasn't bad. The only weird thing is they give you one gigantic taco. I would prefer two smaller tacos. If you don't want a taco, they also offer a rice box as an alternative. There are streets and streets of food truck parked near my work everyday around lunch time and today I had the Korean BBQ Taco Truck and now I am totally in love! I got the Bulgogi Taco box, for $8 it came with an 8" taco loaded with tender Bulgogi topped with this mayo like sauce, a spicy fried korean chicken wing, a small salad with ginger dressing and a yogurt drink! The deal is amazing even for food truck standard and the food was delicious! I was really surprise by the quality of the food coming from a food truck because to be honest, I had many poor quality food truck and it's almost to the point where I want to give up on them already.
