I remember the Water Park had a pho place the last time I was in town so I decided to stop by for my first meal (dinner) in Arlington. I self-ordered a regular rib eye pho at the counter and it took awhile for my order to be ready for pickup. As for the pho itself, it was...okay. I'm a pho enthusiastic and had been spoiled by great pho from where I'm from so this is subpar by comparison. It feels like an non-authentic take on pho (I mean, they are supposed to be fusion?). The broth feels like it's the powder we get from the store without actually using beef bone in the broth. Other than the wait time, no issues with the staff. Very nice concept! Fusion Vietnamese food, pick up or if the weather is nice you can eat outside either at the few seats they place at their outside counter or at the "Water Park". If you work in the area this could be your favorite lunch spot! I only wanted to try their unique items so this time I tried the Oxtail Banh Mi Cheesesteak and next time I want to try the Brisket BanhMi Cheesesteak! Also my eyes are on the Supreme Pho which has a lot of meat in it! It's pricey for a sandwich but also I've enjoyed it to the max and I have no regrets. I'm also not aware at all with the Oxtail price, however I know that while it could look cheap, it doesn't give you a lot of near per piece! The sandwich also comes with a little cup of Pho to dip in or sip on! I won't deduct stars but they need to have Pho spoons!! They gave me a regular one and they need to construct the sandwich better so it doesn't become very soggy and messy ! Again! I've enjoyed it to the max! It needs to be more solid/crispy and then we use the pho at our convenience to dip in and get it softer by the bite! I hope the management can think about that! My husband and I really love pho and have been looking for our new regular spot since moving to the area. We were pretty disappointed with PhoWheels. Me and the boys wanted to get some food before our game and my friend highly recommended this spot. They are serving up unique Vietnamese fusion dishes that I have never seen before. We got a couple items and all were great! All the meat they used were fall apart tender and had great flavors. They also provide a broth on the side to dip your tacos/sandwiches in. We love this place due to its proximity to us but also their quick service and delicious pho. It comes with peppers and lime on the side but I add it to my pho for extra spice and it's soooo good the portions are generous and it's my go to comfort take out food. Great food! The tacos were okay but my husband loved em. Too much cheese for me, personally, but that's the nature of a birria taco I hear. The fries, we both thought were FIRE. I just really wish I got a receipt. The ability to have the receipt sent to my phone was sent away very quickly as I was inputting my phone number which made me uncomfortable. I asked for a receipt, and the gentleman said he'd put it in the bag. Receipt was never put in bag. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering various apps, banh mi sandwiches, roti tacos, pho, seasonal/specials, and beverages. The hubby and some friends and I went to the Fiesta Asia Street Fair on 6/1/2024 and after perusing the scene for a while, I chose to grab food at one of the vendors there - PhoWheels. I ordered two tacos, two OG roti tacos to be specific, one with chicken and one with pork belly. The tacos come with pickled carrots/daikon, cucumbers, cilantro, Sriracha-lime mayo, all served on a roti flatbread. These tacos were so freaking bomb! Everything was perfectly seasoned and flavorful, everything went together like a harmonious song, the roti was a great twist and just overall greatness. I liked the pork belly better than the chicken one, but they are both great! I could not stop thinking about these tacos and wanted the hubby to get the full experience as had chosen a different vendor while at the street fair. He tried my food and frankly was jealous. We were lucky to learn that PhoWheels has their first location at the National Landing in Arlington, VA (near us), so we happily went there the following day, 6/2/2024. We went a bit overboard and ordered the wings, I got two OG roti tacos (both pork belly) and the hubby got a Banh Mi with pork belly. The wings were FIRE, I am not even a wings stan and could not get enough of them, they were crunchy, well seasoned, a touch sweet, overall 10/10. You will find this food kiosk in the trendy Crystal City Water Park. There is metered street parking and commercial parking garages within a reasonable walking distance. You will find it at the end of the park by the restrooms and ice cream kiosk. The guy working the kiosk, Danny, was the friendliest and most personable person that I have met in a while. There are a few tables by the kiosk to eat and lots more, with some scenic views in the park. I had no problem getting a seat by the water wall. But I do recommend getting there before the lunch rush. They have a limited menu and I decided to go with the Bo-Khirria egg rolls which came with a broth. I also ordered some waffles fries to complete my meal. It took about ten minutes or so for them to have my meal ready. The fries were ok. They were not seasoned nor did they have any salt. I had to get some from them in a little container. The egg rolls were also just "ok". Nothing special. I probably would not order neither again, but that is my preference. I didnt think it would be that much food because the count seem pretty small portioned but I was WRONG AGAIN. Two people can split 3 eggrolls ma'am. Which were BOMB. I got the Bo-Khirria eggrolls that came with the beef stew and Honey Garlic Butter Wings all great. The staff was super nice and one of the cashiers was giving people good vibes when calling out orders. Theres plenty of seating around the waterpark and its beautiful to sit out in the spring/summer with the interactive selfie popups (telephone booth). Came by on a weekend and the water park was practically empty. Usually a lot busier on weekdays when people come in to Pentagon / Crystal City to work. Huge fan of the food truck and their pop up events. I always get their beef ox tail pho, Vietnamese coffee, bo kho and ox tail tacos. Seasonings and flavors are on point. Prices are reasonable and the 3 Bo- khirria tacos were enough. Plenty of quality meats and ingredients packed into each dish. The sauces and textures were perfect. Located right in National Landing this is a great place to stop by for a quick bite. There's plenty of benches around to sit and enjoy your meal. I've heard a lot of great things about Pho Wheels, but unfortunately, it didn't blow me or my friends away based on what we tried. This is Pho Wheels' first brick-and-mortar at the "Water Park", which is the new, outdoors food hall/court in the National Landing/Crystal City neighborhood. There's a variety of different cuisines and Pho Wheels is one of them. To be honest, I'm not sure what this concept will look like in the winter when it's bitterly cold, but they probably have it figured out. BRAISED OXTAIL PHO - 22.98 I know oxtail is expensive, but geez, not sure if it's worth paying almost 23.00 (+10% tax) for a snack-sized portion of pho. They do give you three oxtails here, which is a lot. Each one of the with a large chunk of fat per piece, lol. Definitely very tender and good, but I personally don't prefer the high fat content (so FYI if you're not too familiar with oxtail). The broth was on the saltier side (a bit too much for me and another friend) that was packed with a lot of flavors from the ox bone, fat and seasonings. The noodles were on the "harder" side, which I preferred. Overall, it was fine, but definitely not worth paying 23 for. If I come back for pho, I'll probably stick to a cheaper option. One of my other friends thought it was pretty mid for the price point (given it's the cost of a pho at other locations but 2/3 of the portion-size). Pho Wheels is known for their oxtail pho tacos with a side of pho broth to dip them in, which is what one of my friends got. He doesn't recommend the flour tortillas, though, so I'm sure the corn tortilla would be a better option. It's 3 for 20.00 and they're pretty small, so you may need more than just that. read more
