Tempo Shack provides solid, quick Nepalese street food just off H St. I ordered the goat sekuwa (skewers) and the sweet lassi. I got the full set of the sekuwa, although I probably wouldn't get it again since it just added a mix of nuts, dried noodle bits and dried chips. Personally, it would've been nice to complement the goat with rice and vegetables.

Insanely good dumplings! I had the steamed chicken momo with a spicy sauce. I would highly recommend. There is an order window but no indoor or outdoor seating so it's a takeaway spot. Seems like they are super fresh and made to order so it does take a second for the order to be ready.

You can request your dumplings to be either pan-fried or steamed, and you have a choice of their homemade dipping sauces (Ginger Soy Vinaigrette, Peanut Sesame, or Spicy Basil Chili). I had heard about this food truck recently, so the hubs and I decided to stalk them and try them out for a weekday lunch. We were a little nervous, as I noticed that they can sometimes close during rainy weather, but luckily, they pushed through the rain, which eventually tapered off! We ordered the Pork and Cabbage Dumplings (pan-fried and steamed; these had a more cilantro-like flavor to the filling) and the Crunchy Vegetarian (pan-fried; these were more flat and elongated; I actually really enjoyed these, as they were great with the Ginger Soy Vinaigrette; I first thought that there was some meat inside, but I'm thinking it's either tofu or soy protein?). It was interesting that the Pork and Cabbage had more of a stronger herb-y taste rather than the Crunchy Vegetarian. The Asian Noodle Salad didn't look like the picture on their menu; however, it was still simple and fresh, made with rice noodles, sliced carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, and crushed peanuts; much better dressed with the peanut sesame sauce! The Veggie Fried Rice was tasty, especially adding the Ginger Soy Vinaigrette to it! I also tried their Lemon Ginger Tea, which I appreciated it not being too sweet. The staff here are super friendly, welcoming, and honest! They serve it up around various places in the NoVA area, so just check their social media to locate where they're at for the week. Just outside the L'Enfant Plaza Metro stop (on the Maryland Ave side), you'll know you're in the right place by the crowds of Federal office workers queuing up for their favorite truck. There's a great variety from southern soul food to barbeque, from pho and banh-mi to Indonesion, from Philly cheese steaks to gyros. My daughters each had beef pho from the Pho-Nation and Vietnamese Food trucks (piping hot flavorful broth, plenty of noodles, slices of tender beef, cilantro, and accompanied with hot sauce and lime wedges on the side); my wife had the falafel salad from the Quick Bites truck which was outstandingly tasty and light, made with a chickpea and fava bean combination with a herb blend that gave them a unique green color on the inside; while I had the gyro platter from the same truck. Excellent lamb meat, well-seasoned, good tzatziki sauce, and accompanied by a fresh salad and stewed chickpeas. About $9 each for these meals and the trucks take credit cards. Don't settle for the tourist trap food trucks lined up near the Smithsonian museums -- these are terrible with microwaved pizza slices and hot dogs only ... make the short walk to these real food trucks and you won't be disappointed.

I had my mind set on the Jerk Box N' Mac once I saw it on Instagram, and boy did it not disappoint. If you're a fan of spicy food, the heat is not lacking here. The jerk was jerking! I didn't find it overpowering to where I couldn't enjoy the meal. Even the mac and cheese had a little kick to it, even in its cheesy and creamy goodness. The man running the food truck is a native Korean, so you know the cuisine is authentic. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Platter and the Jumbo Crispy Chicken and Fries. It was seasoned well, and the food was very flavorful. The portions were also a nice size. The chicken wings with spicy honey glaze was AMAZING. They were big wings and packed a punch. They were not too spicy but had some heat. The skin was crispy even with the sauce. I also had the bulgogi tacos and they were great! Came with two tacos which was filling. I would definitely recommend trying something else to share if you just get the tacos, 2 is a good lunch portion. The shrimp tempura (fried shrimp) was a little undercooked because the dough was a little raw, but it was a a free side so I'm not too upset over it. The staff running the truck are super nice and the food came out in about 10 minutes. Tap / mobile pay. There is no official website or pay ahead service. I saw a few online menus circulating but they weren't accurate as the truck puts out a chalk board sign for the food available (For example online I saw you could do a side of 1 chicken wing, but they don't do that). It was $31 for two tacos and 8 wings. I would absolutely come back to this truck and I would recommend it!
