This spot kept popping up, so I checked it out--definitely didn't disappoint. Got a matcha and the big strawberry pastry stuffed with jam and soft cake. And yeah... you need a fork lol. The crunchy chocolate shell is actually really good. Coffee is moderately priced, pastries are a little expensive--but that's NYC + a viral trend. RIDICULOUS laptop policy. I'm here from out of town, needed a place to get work done. They turned away my money, my business and my goodwill, all because of some inflexible rule! I stayed chill but warned the dude that this was going to show up in a review. Didn't phase him. So here we go... They have two seating areas, one for people to camp out with their laptops and another where it is prohibited for you to use your laptop. When I got there, the laptop area was packed, nary a seat to be found. The non-laptop area was EMPTY. I told one of the employees that I was planning to buy lunch and coffee but needed to work and would move to the laptop area as soon as a spot opened up. That was not acceptable. "Are you telling me that, even though I order food and drink, you're going to ask me to leave if I open my laptop at that table (a foot away from the sanctioned laptop area)?!" Yep, asked to leave. So sad. As a business-owner myself, I can't imagine how the owner of this cafe justified this absurd policy to him/herself. read more

Slow AF service. I mean wow. The place was barely even busy and it took me about 15 minutes to get an iced tea that tasted like it had been made two weeks ago. Then I went to go put some milk in my tea, and it was warm like it had been just sitting there for hours. I went to use the bathroom and the toilet was messed up. I don't know what kind of idiotic employees this disgusting place hires, but they were completely incompetent. The guy behind the counter sounded like a girl and was just sitting there on his phone not doing anything. Then when I wanted to use my laptop, they told me that only certain areas may be used for laptops. What??? Why? I was just sitting at my table and they basically threw me out. Whoever the owner of this dump is should look into hiring some quality help instead of the brainless twits they have now. read more
