I went in to talk about a big growth on the side of my head (hidden under my hair) that I wanted removed, as well as a general preventative skin check. Dr. Ted Lain was my doctor. He was friendly and had a very contagious positive personality about him. His nurse helper was very friendly as well. Everything happened so fast when they shaved off the growth, as well as a mole on my back they wanted to biopsy. Usually getting these procedures done freak me out but I didn't even have the time to freak out bc of how fast and efficiently it was done, lol. I also even briefly inquired about filler injection estimates and he was able to give me an estimate window right on the spot. They called me the following week with the results, and also sent me the results for my records when I asked. I liked this practice and my doc and I would go again :)

Had a full round of accutane at pflugerville no problem, got great results and any concerns I had resolved. I go to the North Austin location and holy hell, they must hire anyone because when I tell you nothing was done I mean literally NOTHING was done, did the paperwork, had my appointment, was prescribed medication, asked me what pharmacy I wanted to use, that was 3 months ago and I am yet to actually even start the treatment because they have sent the medication to the wrong pharmacy numerous times. I called probably over 15 times to address this and while there was one girl who answered and actually helped, still nothing was improved or done, they kinda just want you to drop everything you're doing and go the extra mile to make up for their mistakes, not to mention they never answer the phone and they are extremely rude. So they basically stole $70 from me for the appointment, I never took medication or had treatment but they were happy to take my copay. AND BECAUSE I LEFT A VOICEMAIL OF HOW UPSET I WAS ABOUT THIS THEY SAID THEY WOULDNT GIVE ME TREATMENT, but again I wasn't getting treatment the whole time regardless so not sure what kind of threat that was . Hair thinning / loss 2. Rash on my torso 1. (Hair Loss) I'll include the before and after photos of 1 year going to Gavino and you'll be shocked at the difference. I had been going to a couple of different dermatologists before, but felt I was always getting a surface level treatment. When finally finding Gavino, I was surprised at the level of treatment they provide. I was prescribed 2 oral medications and a shampoo. I told Dr. Gavino how I had been on finasteride, and topical minoxidil before but saw okay results. He informed me he preferred oral minoxidil instead of topical to prevent breakage in my already thinning hair (bonus because taking the oral medication is SO much easier) and later added a new medication to boost my hair treatment. It's been 1 year and my hair is INSANELY healthier now, and the loss has completely been stopped. I plan on doing PRP at their clinic to continue to boost my hairs health, and will update later this year. 2. Rash - Super simple but again, I was able to get a quick appointment, determined what it was, and prescribed a cream that knocked it out in literally 2 days. Their office is definitely a cut above, and I'll breakdown what I've seen so far. - Texting only facility, which it's 2026 and I think just about everyone is tired of getting spam calls so this is a breath of fresh air - Staff is awesome! They're great at their jobs, smooth, professional, and extremely efficient - Gavino is the best dermatologist I've worked with! The guy actually gets things done, and has exceeded my expectations to where I've recommended him to friends that live hours away. Charismatic but also extremely knowledgeable to where he has walked me through the treatment plan and answered any and all of my questions!
