People are always telling me how young I look. Well, I have a secret weapon. Dr. Bushore. Balcones Dermatology is the absolute best! Dr. Bushore has done quite a few procedures on my face including.....Micro needling on my face and neck. I have had filler(on several different occasions) in my cheeks, my 11's, my lips(which looked amazing) my frown lines, nasal labial folds and around my mouth!!!! Dr. Bushore used Botox between and above my brows as well. It I felt like I had an eye lift, and much more affordable!!! I am sure you are telling yourself that I must look like some kind of Housewife of Beverly Hills This was not the case at all. None of my close friends, family or clients noticed any big changes. Basically, everyone just keeps saying how great I look. I had a client tell me the other day that she thought I was in my 30's (haaaa). That is probably pushing it a little bit since I am turning 54 but I will take the compliment! The coolest thing is that the filler that has lasted close to two years!!!! I got a gross bite. Some kind of spider I assumed so after doing a webmd search and google image spiral I called these guys in a panic. "I was definitely probably bitten by a brown recluse and will die soon." Turns out, it most likely a blister beetle and I probably freaked out when I shouldnt have but thus are the ways of the interwebs. It was super easy to make an appointment online with the next available Dermatologist which ended up being Dr. Cooper. She was fantastic -- gave me some antibiotics for the weird looking infected bite, checked all my spots including the soles of my feet, in between my toes and other parts and pieces. I have to amend my earlier review because the exit you take heading south is Steck and Mopac -- it's not located at Steck and Mopac. And now the citibank is a BB&T so look for that when you're driving around in circles trying to find it. They don't have wifi or TVs that are turned to anything so BYOentertainment. read more

Love this office! It is one of the best Dermatologist office ever!! All the staff is very sweet and caring! Always making sure to give you the absolute best service! I went to see Dr. Bushore for my acne, he prescribed a topical medication and suggested that I see the Aesthetician for a facial. Kayla gave me one of the best facials (DiamondGlow) I have ever had. She is very thorough , and she wants results just as much as you do. You can tell she absolutely loves her job. I highly recommend Balcones Dermatology to everyone! This is a fine place to go to, but their payment situation is such a nightmare, it makes it completely not worth it. After my appointment I go to the front desk to pay, and they tell me the price, and I say, "thats the price for the whole thing, that's all I owe you?" The lady says "Yup!" so I pay and leave. Then of course, three weeks later, I get a bill in the mail from them for twice what I had paid in the office. Incredibly frustrating but whatever, they pull this bs everywhere. The problem is there is no option to pay online! I literally have to mail them a check or write down all my credit card information on a letter they provide (postage not provided) and mail it back to them! What is this, 1995? I have quite literally NEVER sent a letter before except as a novelty. If they provided postage that would be one thing, but now I have to actually make a trip to a post office to buy a stamp just so I can pay these jokers. read more

I went to Balcones Dermatology and saw Dr. Bushore regarding a rosacea-like flushing on my arms and chest. I was very pleased with my appointment b/c Dr. Bushore took the time to listen and discuss my condition with me and possible treatment options. I had previously been dismissed by another dermatologist (in Florida) and told "not to worry" about the redness, that it's just something that fair skinned people have. I knew it was a cosmetic issue and not a medical problem, so was happy that Dr. Bushore still spent time answering my questions. He recommended that I consider making an appointment with Dr. Farady (who runs their costmetic treatment area) to discuss IPL Photofacial treatments on the red areas. I had done some research online and had heard of IPL before so was interested in cosulting with Dr. Farady. I met with Dr. Farady and her nurse David and have had two IPL treatments so far. I was happy with the thorough consultation I had prior to starting a course of treatment. Dr. Farady and David discussed how they would approach my treatments and did a variety of test patches with the laser to see how my skin would react prior to treating the whole area so they'd know which settings to use. David performed the actual treatments. He is very knowledgable about using the IPL laser and has been a dermatological nurse for years. Dr. Farady was actively involved in the treatment plan, as she and David consulted both before and after each of my treatments. I can see improvement in my condition and feel I chose the right office for this procedure. I've been really pleased with the quality of care I've received. read more

Nobody WANTS to have to see a doctor but let me tell you, Balcones Dermatology made the process as smooth and painless as possible. I called and got an appointment with Dr. Bushmore within a week. I was able to fill out my paperwork online in advance so I didn't have to sit in a waiting room forever, and they take my insurance so my copay was almost nothing. When I arrived, I found parking quickly in their spacious lot. I had about a 3 minute wait before it was my turn. Dr. Bushmore was very kind, listened to my complaint, and prescribed medication compounded at Northwest Hills Pharmacy. Yes, having to get medication from a specific pharmacy was a bit out of the way for me but it was worth it. Not only did the medication not break the bank, but it seems to really work. I have received compliments on how nice my skin looks . . . in the dead of summer, when I am usually prone to dark spots. I would definitely recommend Balcones Dermatology to anybody seeking a dermatologist and especially Dr. Bushmore. read more

Dr. Bushore has been an excellent dermatologist for our fair skinned family! I wanted to give a big shout out to the care of my teen son. My son had cystic acne starting in 4th grade (he's in 8th now) which was already causing some scarring. Dr Bushore was very conservative but nothing seemed to really help and we tried everything! We started Isotretinoin and after 5 months he was finished and his acne was gone. It's been a year and he hasn't had ANY acne and he has not experienced any side effects. His muscles were a bit stiff and had chapped lips during the treatment but that went away after a couple weeks after finishing medicine. Tip - if your insurance doesn't cover this expensive medicine get the top level Sam's Club membership and you will save A LOT of money. I had the best experience I have ever had with a doctor with Dr. Jackson. I had a mysterious allergic reaction (gnarly rash) that kept coming back after two trips to urgent care. Balcones was booked up but they found a way to fit me in at the last minute. I explained I was a cash patient without any insurance and they were awesome. They discounted my visit (their policy for all cash patients) and gave me a ton of free samples of sensitive skin body washes and lotions. Dr. Jackson gave me samples of an expensive antihistamine and wrote me a prescription for a cheaper one so I could see what worked. Went here for a simple wart issue on my foot, the doctor was nice and I got prescribed the medication very quickly! I paid at the front and they told me I had no remaining balance. Just got a bill sent to me because the doctor decided to "change" the "codes" after I left and it changed the price!! I went in to see Dr. Farady for a mole check when I first moved to Austin. I had an odd looking one on my wrist which I pointed out immediately. Dr. Farady grabbed my hand, leaned in to look at the mole for a second then said "That doesn't look like anything. Nothing to worry about." I trusted my intuition and went to another derm and guess what? The mole that Dr. Farady said was "nothing" was MELANOMA. Melanoma, people. She didn't even bother to remove it and check it to be sure!! Granted this was my first time dealing with this so I wasn't aware that most doc's remove anything that looks suspicious. Now that I know the standard procedure, I am dumbfounded that, not only did she not test the mole to be on the safe side, but that she actually told me not to worry. Needless to say, she gets an F-. Horrible and careless doctor. Stay far away. read more

I loved Dr. Curry, but she left and moved to Colorado. So, I saw Dr. Farady when I last went and she has the bedside manner of a lamp. She is perfectly capable, but as a client I felt very rushed. I went there for one thing and was going to just ask her about something else and her medical assistant said I could only ask about the issue I came there for. She said if I wanted to address the other issue I would have to make another appointment. I informed the assistant that I had waited over ONE HOUR for my appointment and I would ask her what I damn well pleased. If I am going to pay a $50 copay I will talk to her about whatever I see fit. Overall, the experience was nowhere as great as it was when Dr. Curry was there. read more

Called and received a time within two weeks. Pretty good for a Dermatology office. Arrived early to fill out there ridiculous "paperless" system. Make sure you get copies of everything you sign on there stupid Ipads. it is hard to read the fine print and what other charges you may have. Doctor Bushore saw me real quick. Showed him my issues with five moles/skintags I wanted to be removed. I have been here twice previous. Both times with insurance the fee was around $300. This time there was no methioned of the cost of each one removed. I'm a strong believer in buyer beware. It took him 11 minutes to remove the 5 items. When I went to check out the charge was $1250.00. I was rather surprised and payed the bill. I then in a few days received another bill for $200.00 for testing lab work. I called to complain to them and I received a letter from Dr. Bushore explaining that my insurance does not cover it and I was told about all charges (I was not). I would of never paid $290 per mole to have them removed. When going in make sure you get a estimate in writing and include the testing lab work. The stupid "paperless" system does not help in this matter. Make them print it for you to sign it. I have found another Doctor that charges about half of this insane price. read more

I received two voicemail messages close to 5pm on the day of my attempted appointment: one from the office administrator and one from Dr. Bushore. The administrator explained that they put a new policy in place in an attempt to not fall behind in seeing patients. She said, "Basically you're right and we're wrong. I spoke to Dr. Bushore and he's very concerned and apologetic. She said that he offered to see me at no charge for my follow-up visit, if I'd like to come in again. She apologized again and said that the policy meant to keep from falling behind and having patients wait a long time but recognized that it's not very patient friendly and said that they're doing away with it. "We really apologize and this is our bad." I received a voice mail message from Dr. Bushore who also apologized. He said that he heard what had happened and he feels terrible about it. He said that they had created a policy to make sure that patients can be seen on time. but "obviously it's not working out. The policy should never come before a person." And he mentioned that he did not know what happened until afterwards. While I greatly appreciate that I received a phone call from both parties who apologized and acknowledged that the policy is not patient friendly, I don't feel comfortable returning because of the way I was treated by the staff at the front. They were not very gracious about explaining the policy, did not seem to care about the fact that they were embarrassing me in front of four staff members and several patients in the waiting room, and they almost seemed to enjoy the fact that they were able to act as gatekeepers and had the ability to be punish me for not following the time policy. read more

Dr. Bushore is fantastic! I took my 11-year-old to see him for a couple of skin conditions (planters warts, hyperhidrosis and keratosis pilaris,) and he was not only thorough, but he was calming and reassuring. Pre-teens have enough insecurities as it is and Dr. Bushore went out of his way to go through a plan that would put her mind at ease and avoid any physically painful procedures. Very bad!! I searched her online, went to her for acne and wrinkles, she recommended some pads to clean the effected area and a night cream for wrinkle, I developed white patches all over my face due to the night cream!! When I went back to her, she didn't have any answer to those white patches and she said I don't have an answer but you can try using head and shoulders to clean the face and also bleach to even the skin tone.. This recommendation is for Dr. Margaret Curry, who has been my dermatologist 2 years now. I love seeing her because she's direct, tells me my options, does her business, and I'm out of there in less than 30 minutes. I've gone to tons of dermatologists in the past and can understand that it's a difficult conversation to have about a self-conscious subject. Dr. Curry is great in understanding that, especially from a female point of view. She's always patient with questions and keeps me updated on new medicine or treatments available. Dr. Cooper was recommended to me by a friend after my usual dermatologist was unable to see me for 4+ weeks. I had a skin condition that had flared up pretty badly and was desperate to get in somewhere. I called Balcones Dermatology and had an appointment within 24 hours of my phone call. Dr. Cooper was so friendly and easy to talk to. I felt like she really listened to my concerns and thoroughly explained all of my treatment options. My appointment was quick but informative and I left feeling so much better about getting my skin back on track. I've since gone back for a follow-up and had another great appointment. In addition to checking on my original issue, she took a look at some little, red, dry patches near my eyes and sent me home with a couple of different sample products to try for that. She reached me the next day and we set up an appointment for an exam and on the exam day I was able to get a quote for the cost and got it done that same day . I am very impressed with this place . I have seen both Dr Curry (before she moved away) and Dr Farady a number of times. Both are clearly 5 star doctors, and the office is managed accordingly. An example. One day one of the (fully booked) doctors agreed to TRY to work me in on a semi-emergency basis. After waiting perhaps 30 minutes, I was called to the front desk. The receptionist gave me a $5 Starbucks card by way of apology for my having to wait so long! They were doing ME a big favor and still gave me a small gift to compensate for that very short delay. In cosmetic matters, Dr Farady offers honest, state of the art, no spin advice and is an artist with injectables. Far more important, however, is her expertise and excellence in dermatology and general medical matters. When doing mole checks, Dr Farady puts on her goofy loupe magnifying glasses and goes over one's body with great care; if anything is questionable, she slices it off and sends it to the lab for analysis. She effectively treated my persistent skin rash (when other doctors were unable to) after working methodically to identify its various underlying causes. read more

I'm very disappointed in this business. I've never seen a dermatologist before, so this really put a bad taste in my mouth. I scheduled a 'body scan' for moles since I used tanning beds a lot in my youth. I didn't wait long, (that's a plus) and it didn't take long. Literally 5 minutes to 'scan' my body. The doctor came in, looked at my back, neck, arms, legs, hands, feet and upper chest area. I had a few specific moles I wanted him to check out, but with the nurse talking (distracting) to me and an unfamiliar man (the doctor) scanning my half naked body, I totally forgot to point out one mole on my stomach, an area that should have been checked anyways, that wasn't at all. After realizing he missed a mole, I inquired to schedule a quick follow up appointment so he could look at the missed spot, and they informed me that I would have to pay for another consultation. If a 'body scan' takes 5 minutes, it shouldn't take more than 30 seconds for the doctor to look at one mole. I work in a health care professional office, and there is no way we would ever make our patients pay for something like that. I'm extremely disappointed in Balcones Dermatology, and will not be returning. read more

I came in 3 min of appointment time due to traffic and was told due to that I would have to let 3 patients (even those who were after me) ahead of me making me wait another hour.
