Just moved to Summit and I'm looking for a really good bagel shop. I found bagel supreme on google maps and the reviews seems to be really good, so I decided to check it out. I bought two onion bagel, for me and one for my hubby and an cinnamon raisin for my daughter. The onion bagel looks under cook and is too soft for me. I like a little firm to mine. They don't have a lot of variety of bagels. So far nothing has compare to the bagel shop in cedar grove. Sucks..... I miss the jalapeno bagels there. *sigh*. By the way, the prices are good. Always finding disappointing bagels and spreads until I stumbled upon this lovely spot after reading reviews from my fellow Yelpers. Bagels Supreme is super organized and handles the crowds flawlessly. Their bagels are hot and fresh and oh so delicious! They even offer mini bagels. Their bagels might be hot/ fresh/ tasty but the overall lack of service with four girls behind the counter and two customers was appalling. This place might be the " go to" spot in Springfield , where you do not have other options nearby but it would never last ten minutes in nyc where theres a bagel shop every ten feet . Service is the only thing you can control in this industry, absolute worst experience of being ignored , then rolling eyes as if asking for two bagels was a hardship. This review should have been written sooner. I attempted to order a platter of bagels, several cheeses to my physicians and staff (I was actually in the office when ordering) and told the person I would pick up the order on Friday at 8:00 curbside. That was the first misunderstanding. Well I overslept (as I was cooking the night before). A half hour later, I arrived and got yelled at (as I drove into the parking lot) by one of the owners (Manny) screaming at me "I'm not doing this anymore, etc. " I was really surprised as I recommended my school to order bagels from them (Did that matter?, obviously not.) In addition, I recommended my friends who do not live in the area to purchase from Bagels Supreme. I left several messages to discuss Manny's poor customer service, but no return calls. Amazing, every morning prior to going to work, I would purchase breakfast not only for myself but my coworkers. I was driving around one Sunday and wanted to purchase bagels elsewhere (I was extremely tired) and decided to go into the shop one more time and Manny was there. I made him aware that I was trying to contact him and wanted to discuss (when he had free time) what had transpired. There initially wasn't a response. Once again, there were many customers and he was rather nasty and I was quite embarrassed. I was brought up to believe that embarrassing someone in public is a great sin. Whatever happened to : The customer is always right is a phrase pioneered by Harry Gordon Selfridge, John Wanamaker and Marshall Field. These men were successful retailers and learned early in their careers that the success of their stores depended on the happiness of their customers. My parents was in a business for many years and would have never treated anyone as I was treated. What a coincidence! I was talking to a friend and she mentioned Manny's poor attitude and customer service! Another Yelper sent me a scathing, nasty PM reaming me out for criticizing the bagels here. I was informed that I don't know anything about bagels. I guess having eaten them on a regular basis for 55 years doesn't count for much. It was strange, because three stars is still a good rating. No taylor ham, bacon, sausage because they don't have a grill. Eggs would have to be microwaved. That's odd to me but okay, let's just try a bagel. It was warm, light and fluffy. However, the "Everything" bagel I got only had the toppings on the top half. So when I cut it in half to eat it, the first half was everything and the other half ended up being a plain bagel. Every time I go here I'm served by an unfriendly counter person. It's not just me, they're like this with everyone. I don't need a new best friend. Just Hello or Good morning. Received burned bagels. I was told the following: "you should have looked at all the bagels in the bag"...."you ordered them that way" "we will replace your bagels but don't let it happen again". I stopped in early one morning on my way back from a friends place who lives in the area. Small place that doesn't have seating. Their selection is good. They are always bringing out hot bagels but when I get cc on it, I prefer it to be the colder variety (the cc melts, it gets messy...ugh). There bagels are average. Nothing great nor bad. A gem in Springfield where most of the locals who are regulars stop in the morning to grab their fresh kosher bagels with cream cheese and lox. Try the pumpkin spice coffee which is seasonal now and it seems like their strawberry cream cheese is popular and their lox is one of the best I have tasted, not fishy at all. There is parking available but it gets busy on the weekend, they do accept credit cards (no minimum) but it slows the line up, better to bring cash. They do not have gluten-free items unfortunately but they are open every day even on holidays weekdays they close at 3 PM & 2PM on the weekends. read more

Great Bagels. I see that this place has received some mixed reviews. Yes, it's true that their eggs are terrible and their cream cheese sucks too. But coming from Manhattan and eating at some of the best bagel joints (H&H, which just recently closed, Daniels, etc.), I believe that Bagel Supreme's bagels are right up there and are the best bagels I have had in NJ. read more

Crashed at a friend's house nearby and on my way to the bus stop couldn't resist coming in for a bagel and schmear. Seriously don't think I've had as good a bagel in NYC as this place (Shh don't tell on me!) though I'm not really the expert. Best bagels in the area. All the spreads are great too. This place makes me happy. I feel secure knowing that there is truly great bagels within driving distance instead of the usual roll with a hole. I don't begrudge them the weak coffee and the egg in the microwave. if you live in the area, and eat at Bagel Chateau and not here you are an animal. these are by far the best bagels I have ever had. They also have great tuna, and lox that is hard to beat. Bagels are not something i really pay attention to the price, but i am ALWAYS shocked when i get the total and it is so cheap. i moved away from this bagel store, and would still drive 15 minutes each way to get them on the weekend. they are that good. go in the morning when they are hot and fresh, and get a Bagel stick to eat in the car on the way home. read more

Great bagels but the service is horrible. Young girls with attitudes rolling their eyes. The big guy behind the counter in the morning that stands with his arms crossed and stares at the customers. This is the best bagel shop in the mountainside/Springfield area. They have the best bagels I have ever tasted. They are made fresh in the back and brought out hot. Just the right texture. The line gets long but it moves fast. They also have different types of cream cheeses. They have no seating except for a couple of tables outside. If you like bagels this is the only place to go.
