    Everything bagel with lox spread
    Cindy C.

Delicious. Stopped by Sunday morning for an everything bagel with lox spread ($5) and small coffee ($2). Bagel was nicely toasted, crunchy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside. Paired with a generous schmear of savory lox cream cheese, it was a great way to start the day. I saw a sign for a $17.99 special for 6 bagels, 1/2 lb cream cheese and 1/4 lb lox. Seems like a good deal and I'll try that next time I host brunch.

For a place named "Hot Bagels" their bagels disappointed. While they were indeed hot and on the bigger side, they were mealy and kinda dry. Though their Everything Bagel had seeds on top AND bottom, their Onion Bagel only seemed to have onion on the outside and their Banana Nut Muffin only had nuts on the top and not the inside. For bagel toppings, they offer lox, whitefish salad, and a lot of other options. Their yummy veggie cream cheese uses fresh bell peppers, carrots, and celery. I was pretty happy with their thickly cut pork roll, egg, and cheese with ketchup and S&P on a bagel (a New Jersey fave). The moisture/grease from the ingredients helped. This seems to be a good spot to have a super casual breakfast or lunch (they offer hot/cold sandwiches, wraps, and salads), but for bagels, better options exist half a mile away. TIPS/NOTES: **Good coffee set up. Good selection of pastries and bagel toppings. **Eating area. **Friendly service but they seemed unfamiliar with daily specials which might be because the venue's pretty new. **Gender-neutral restroom. **Wheelchair accessible. **Plenty of parking.

As a bagel connoisseur, this is by far my fav bagel spot. I've lived in jersey my whole life, PA/Philly for college, and visit NY frequently, yet these bagels are hands down the best! The most fluffy bagels with the bubble texture on the bottom (NJ signature). Honestly, one of the most underrated bagels spots. The owner is super nice and patient with orders esp those who are older.

First time trying this new bagel spot. I got an everything bagel toasted with egg cheese hash brown and I will definitely be going back for more!

Onion bagel with cream cheese and lox, half already eaten.

Way too expensive. Over $12.00 for a 1/4 lb of lox. Crooks. Bagels not fresh. Way better alternatives.

Millburn has no shortage of delis, but Goldberg's Famous Deli is definitely at the top of the list…read more Goldberg's offers deli traditional favorites like fresh-baked bagels, lox, and sandwiches piled high with deli meats, as well as healthier options like salads when you want something lighter in an unapologetically casual ambiance. Goldberg's has been a local staple in Millburn since Tina and Marty Goldberg first opened the doors back in July 1977. The current owners took over in December 2022 and have done a fantastic job keeping the soulful and "old-school" Jewish-style deli spirit alive while making many subtle but meaningful improvements that today's diners expect and appreciate. However, it still has that authentic, "old-school deli" ambiance where you order at the counter then grab a table to wait for your meal and could end up with mismatched silverware. It's charmingly low-key and with a focus entirely on the food. The deli sandwiches are massive and the quality of the ingredients is consistently high. Unfortunately, that also means that the prices are somewhat higher than you might expect. A single deli sandwich served with a small bag of potato chips is in the $20-$22 range, which feels like a bit of a splurge for a casual lunch. That said.. You definitely won't leave hungry and the portion sizes encourage sharing or taking half of your dish home for a second meal. My dining companion and I split the West Orange sandwich, made with corned beef, turkey, russian dression, and cole slaw, on rye bread, which was excellent. We'll definitely be back. PRO TIP #1: Bring your wallet. I do feel obligated to point out that Goldberg's should be rated as a $$ / moderate price range (indicating $11 to $30 per person) rather than a $ / inexpensive price range (indicating under $10 per person). PRO TIP #2: While they don't have a private lot, there is plenty of on-street parking and municipal lots nearby. Use the mPay2Park app for the pay-by-plate meters ($0.50 per hour). Meters operate Monday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm; all street meters are free after 7 pm and all day Sunday. If the street is full, the Essex Street parking deck (24 Lackawanna Place) is a reliable backup.

I finally made it there the other day and was shocked at how substantial the place was. It was no small bakery, but was a full cafe and gourmet shop as well. Though I did not try their savory sandwiches, breads, salads, or spreads at that time, I did purchase some of their sweets. First, the Chocolate Rugelach were some of the best I have had. The delicate, flaky cookies were like little croissants and were ribboned with a rich chocolate spread. Their version also had hints of vanilla, which I really enjoyed. I also got one of their large Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was thin, but packed with gooey bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate. It also had a light sprinkling of Maldon sea salt on the top. It was super decadent! Liv Breads exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to revisiting to try many more of their items.
