It's my go-to spot every Sunday after church and such a nice little treat to look forward to. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, even when it's busy. I also like that everything is made fresh early in the day, so you know you're getting something good. They do close early around 3pm, so it's definitely a morning and early afternoon spot -- but it's worth it every time. So many people packed up in the store like sardines that you may get a bagel and Covid or a cold as a constellation prize. If you order online and pick it up, you will receive a text saying it's ready and get to the store and wait forever bc it's so busy there. Waste of people's precious time. If you order from uber eats, you get to pay an extra twelve bucks for the same thing. However, given the fact that they can't read the order here - you hardly ever get what you actually order, so don't get excited. Ever. It's not cheap so to consistently get the wrong order is annoying and at times (like when you order from uber eats) - infuriating. I love when they tell you to come pick up the correct order after you just paid exorbitant uber eats fees. Insulting to me and my wallet. When they run out of bagels- they will give you a different bagel- of their choice instead of having the courtesy to call and ask you. This happened this week. Last week I went to pick up and they gave Lox slices instead of pic spread and it grossed me out. The time before that they toasted my bagel when I always get it un toasted. As someone from the west coast, I had no idea what a "Taylor Ham" was until a recent work trip with a native who lived in Rahway and loves this place. Not the friendliest bunch behind the counter (like nobody smiles in NJ?) but I would excuse that after sinking my teeth into this breakfast sandwich. The everything bagel was on point, like I could have eaten a dozen of them by myself. I got mine with scrambled egg since a running egg freaks me out along with pepper and American cheese. I wanted this thing as close to traditional as I could get. I passed on the ketchup... but if I ever come back will try it that way. Taylor Ham reminds me of a cross between bacon and ham. They didn't skimp on the cream cheese as it's overflowing and tasty. Price is comparable to any bagel shop in the area as anything good isn't cheap.
