Tamale season is fast approaching and this is my place to shop for all my cooking and baking holiday needs, masa, cheese, husks, meat, chilis and spices. At first glance I was excited about this store and some of the items I was able to find…read more However...they over charged me by making a mistake at the deli counter. I did not notice until after I left the store. When calling the store I was met with the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I was put on hold and disconnected. I had to explain the story several times and transfered to several people. I was on hold over 20 minutes . No one would give their name. One woman when asked "Who am I speaking too?" Would only say "Customer service ". She eventually transferred me to a manager who was so rude I don't think I can even explain it clearly enough in this . First he tried to say "HOW DO YOU KNOW THE PRICE WAS WRONG?!" in a very agressive tone. He then put me back on hold to check the price then came back and blamed me for ringing it wrong myself because we went to self check out. When I explained I could not have rang in it twice as he claimed because there were 3 items in one deli container...I swiped it once and all 3 rang up individually with that swip...If I would have double swipped they all would have shown being rang in twice but that's not what happened. The item I was double charged for (which there were 2 of) rang up two times but at twice the price they should have been. For some reason he just wanted to blame me for the mistake. So I got annoyed by this and asked "Why is it so important to you to blame me.? Why can't you just except your employee tagged it wrong and refund me my money? " He insisted because it was my fault and I should be more careful! He did refund the money (after I said I would contact my credit card company) but insisted on continuing to say it was my fault. I asked his name and his response was " I'm not going to tell you!" .i don't care if they had the only food available in the stae...I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN! The place is family owned and they will go out of their way to help you. The place gets a lot of foot traffic, but there are never any lines or crowds. And yes, they have coffee, for a dollar, any size! I'm quite the coffee snob and I'm telling you it's pretty good. Check this place out! I moved here about a year ago and have catered…read moreseveral parties/events, spending thousands of dollars between party packages and everyday food shopping. Out of four food catering events, everything was either sour or bad twice. One time, I had a family emergency, and they refused to cancel the catering 72 hours in advance. The manager on call was miserable and disrespectful. Also, note that this location, being close to the beaches, loses power all the time; it's not even funny. I understand that they couldn't control power outages, which is fine. But on July 3, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., there was one of many power outages at this location in Brick. The way this manager, on the supermarket side (not the liquor store), was talking to customers waiting in the store while the power went out with food in their carts was appalling. Not one person was acting out; everyone was waiting by the registers for the power to come back to check out. This manager on call, again, was the most nasty person. I got so pissed at this point; it was so unnecessary how this guy was talking to all the customers. I swear I will never visit this location again and will tell everyone I speak with to avoid this location at all costs. They need to clean house with their managers; half of them are the worst.
