A group of 4 of us decided on a whim to go whitewater rafting, and it ended up being such a fun day! The day before our trip, Kosir's called to let us know the water levels on the Peshtigo were low and offered to switch us over to the Menominee instead. I really appreciated that they called ahead and gave us options to make sure we still had a great experience. When 2 more friends decided to join us a day before, they had no problem adding them to our reservation. The whole process was super easy from start to finish. Our guide, Mike, was amazing. He had us laughing the entire trip and was constantly telling jokes, and I felt completely safe the whole time. He answered all of our random rafting questions and was really knowledgeable about the river. The Menominee was a blast, and Mike made sure we got the full experience. The rapids were a ton of fun, we got to jump in and swim in the river, and he even took us "surfing" on the rapids. They also had a professional photographer (shoutout to Michael!) taking photos throughout the trip. Looking through the pictures afterward and seeing everyone's facial expressions was honestly hilarious, and he got the photos uploaded so quickly that we were able to start sharing them almost immediately. What great time! We had a group of 20+ and had a blast. I was the key contact for our group and we got a nice discount because I reserved and paid for all the kayaks and canoes with 1 reservation. Adding extra kayaks after the initial registration was super easy. We did most of the communication through text and it worked out great. We had a group of 6 which most of us had no rafting experience - 2 had been rafting, but had been 10+ years since they went. Our guide was named Michael, and he was absolutely incredible. He had us in stitches the entire shift - he had the perfect balance of jokes while still maintaining a professional and serious concern when it came to safety. Honestly, I could not say enough about Michael, he absolutely made the trip for our entire group. We are already planning to go back in the spring time and hit both the rivers! On our trip we just did the Menominee river. They take you around some smaller rapids to begin with, and once you get to the section of the river with bigger rapids, you get to go down twice. We are a family of 6 with 4 teenagers. We drove a long way to this place because we thought it would be an exciting and fun time. We payed $20 a person EXTRA because it was supposed to be high water and a better experience. It was not. We got stuck constantly. The other people in our group took forever. We found that if you have any experience or are even somewhat athletic, you will be waiting a ridiculous amount of time for the people who cannot figure out how to paddle. We spent more than 3 hours on the river and the majority of the time was sitting on the side waiting for other people to get unstuck. You have to wait for your guide the whole time , even on the slow parts. By the end we were starving and had no interest in ever returning. It was cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for... Our float started 45 minutes after the scheduled time. We were waiting for others who were no shows, and the bus driver. The bus took us to a path which seemed to lead through someone's backyard up the to the river. Our "guide" dropped the tubes in the water and laughed as we tried to get in the tubes. He told us to stay to the left side of the river and get off at the boat landing. Then he left. He failed to mention that he dropped us off at the fastest part of the river. One person sustained severe bruising after being overturned, but hey, I guess that is why they have a waiver. We never saw our guide again. We got out early and walked back to the campground. I had a fantastic time going whitewater rafting through Kosir's! The water level was +5 which meant absolutely nothing to me, but that particular water level was just great. It was enough to make it exciting, but low enough that I could get stuck if I wanted to rest. It wasn't the Colorado River or anything, but there were a handful of rapids to have some fun on and plenty of easy floating to give us time to enjoy the beautiful day we had. We took out the fun yak's - little one person inflatables boats. Super super fun! I think I might prefer them to a group boat since I was in complete control and managed not to flip! Yay me! The head guide was alright - he was trying to be both a laid back outdoorsy hippie and a jerk gym coach with a whistle simultaneously. It was amusing. But, he did his job well as far as I could tell. Afterwards, in the bar next door, they show all the pictures they took of everyone looking terrified/thrilled/wet going through the rapids. Very clever - a drink was just what I was in the mood for after a couple hours in the sun. Thanks Kosir's - I'll be back! read more

Good rapids for the midwest. Very fun, friendly and responsible guide, good quality equipment. Beware that it's not all class four (not much of that in the midwest), but they're resourceful - we dragged two boats with us, dropped one off along the way and hiked back over part of the river to do an exciting section again. For our trip the water level was pretty good - make sure to take a warm rain jacket and good water shoes. They have wetsuits to rent and shoes to borrow for free there, too. read more

We had a great time at Kosirs! We really enjoyed our campsite and felt that everything at the campground was laid out really well. Having the bar/restaurant on site was a nice feature and we enjoyed having a warm breakfast after a night of camping. Our only (small) complaint about the campground was that the showers and bathrooms were kind of gross. I know it's a campground but sometimes the bathrooms were even without toilet paper. During our rafting trip our guides were entertaining, helpful, and knowledgeable. Fun-yaking was a new experience for all of us and they made us feel very at ease. We enjoyed the rapids and had a good time. I wish the rafting trips had been better explained to me when I called because I think our group would have preferred to raft on the Menominee over fun-yaking on the Peshtigo but we still enjoyed ourselves. I would absolutely return here to camp and raft again! read more

We had a great time rafting with Jake. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and made sure to give us opportunities for additional fun on the way to the rapids. It was awesome that they brought two boats so we got to experience the rapids twice. They provided a five minute bus ride to the drop point as well as a life jacket and helmet. I had a group of eight girls go on the Menomonee river route, and it was great. Our guide Dale made us feel very confident and comfortable, as some of us hadn't ever been white water rafting before. We had a blast, and go through twice allowed us to switch up who was in the front of the raft so others got a chance to experience that point of view. We also got to swim in the river before entering the rapids. The trip in total was about two hours, which was perfect. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is or is not experienced, we had so much fun! read more

Rafting is 5 stars (especially compared to Wildman's), but their restaurant at Kosir's is 3 stars, so as a whole i came up with 4 stars. The rafting was great! We went with Wildman's ~3 weeks ago so we had a direct comparison between the 2. The raft's at Kosir's are much better, they are actually the ones that only the guides get to use at Wildman's which i got to use after my raft fell apart when we went to Wildman's. The guides at Kosir's are also much more helpful and do what they are supposed to do...guide! The guides at Wildman's didn't do much of anything but tell you what you did wrong after you got dumped. Lastly, Kosir's drop point is closer to the first rapids so you avoid alot of unnecessary paddling and their end point is by the restaraunt, which means it's a longer trip than Wildman's and you get a couple additional sections of rapids which was a blast!! If you are in the area for rafting, i would pick Kosir's over Wildmans hands down! The restaurant...long story short, don't go there if you are hungry or in a hurry. We ate there on a Thursday night and we were the only group (4 of us) in the dining room except for one other table that had a couple at it. The bar had open seats and i think only 1 high top had people at it. It took 1hr and 45min to get our food. They kept telling us they were backed up, but there was no one coming and going so i don't know where all these "backed up orders" were coming or going to. But while we waited we got to see the bartenders get sloshed. There were 4 bartenders, but only 1 was really working, the other 3 were pounding down drinks like they were going out of style. One of the girls had 7 shots in 1.5hrs, not sure how she was able to "work". Plus, i don't know how they make any money when all those bartenders are drinking like that and not seeing a single penny being exchanged. We ate there again for breakfast before rafting and we made it clear to the bartender we only had an hour before rafting. She had to check with the cook to see if he could cook 2 meals in that time....again, maybe a dozen people total in the place. It took 40mins to cook and omelet and eggs/sausage. So, Kosir's is great for rafting but i think you might want to find other options for food if you are in a hurry or starving! read more

Upon arriving, it does not look great. However, the price was great, our tour was fun, and the guides are very knowledgeable. However, they do not assign the guides until the day of, and 3 of the groups did not have guides. Overall, it was a fun trip in the Midwest! We spent about 2 hours here. read more

We stayed at the campground, ate at the bar, and went on both rafting trips. Everything was fantastic and reasonably priced. The service at the bar was excellent. The only downside was that the showers in the women's shower house didn't function properly and were a little cold. read more

A group of 6 of my girlfriends and I visited Kosirs rapid rafts over Labor Day weekend and had a blast learning to whitewater raft. Our expert guide, Flannery, made sure we were ready to tackle the 15 foot drop of the Menominee river. Seriously make sure you visit this site, the campground is conveniently located next to the river, a great bar/ restaurant, and within good proximity to the gathering for the raft trip. Make sure you purchase a video to capture that exciting moment when you hit your first rapid too! Definitely something you will cherish. We chose a perfect day to go white water rafting. It was about 29 degrees, sunny, snow on the ground, beautiful day to be out on the Peshtigo. Our guides were great and the gear was perfect. It kept us warm enough that the trip was still incredibly fun. We're lucky enough to be from the area so we will definitely be visiting again to raft the Menominee and rent paddle boards to give them a try before we de video to buy our own! read more

Where do I start with this place?!? Amazingly kind and attentive staff, I think the owner and his son, they were so extremely helpful and welcoming the entire weekend. Beautiful location right on the river, super nice crowd and lots of shade and space at the campsites!! Extremely reasonable pricing but the best part was the warmhearted, welcoming, and amazing staff. Also the river rafting was super fun, organized, safe and professional!
