I am not a really knowledgeable person about Japanese food, but for everyone in the same situation out there: ORDER LOW-FAT. I don't understand how this place got such high reviews on yelp. Is this the best paris has to offer for ramen??? if you like Ippudo in NYC or Ichiran in Tokyo or even Shoryu in London, stay away from this place because you will be majorly disappointed. it is nothing like those three places, because the only thing you can taste in the broth is salt and fat. I had the miso chashu ramen with added egg. The soup was so salty and greasy (and i asked it to be less greasy and less salty) to the point of being inedible. I downed three full glasses of water during and after my meal even though the only soup part i ate was what little dripping from the noodles (i didn't use the spoon at all) and another half a bottle of water in 30 minutes. I couldn't even finish it and i am a ramen fanatic. If the broth at least had some depth to it, it might be worth to go for this sodium overload once in a while, but nothing special about the soup really... And i paid €14. read more

I tried this place while I was in Paris, but I definitely agree with other reviews that it is WAY TOO SALTY. Also, I've tried better tasting ramen in NYC. I couldn't even eat the pork slices they gave me because they look undercooked and too fatty even though I ordered the lowest possible pork fat level. Another thing that I personally didn't like was that the actual ramen order doesn't come with egg and anything else unless you add it on. I went to Kotteri Ramen Naritake during the month of June, but I am just finding time sit down and write this review. When I came, the place wasn't too crowded. There was a line of maybe 5-6 but it wasn't too packed. I was in the area and decided to take a study break from completing my writing portfolio--and thinking back, I'm glad I did. The pros: The chefs are literally so efficient; they are constantly moving and sending the ramen bowls out to customers. The ramen is large and is reasonably priced The cons: Salty- The ramen is a bit salty Fatty- Although I like pork belly, for the level of fat in the broth I should have went with low, not medium, although medium was still good. Pros/con: You get see the chefs prepare the dish in front of you, but this is also a negative because it can get a little messy (you get can see pork drips/ ramen broth splash on the glass right before your very eyes) I probably would try a new ramen place if I returned to Paris... but what is served is authentic Japanese ramen for an affordable price, so there is that aspect too, so I rate this place a 4! read more

Simple good ramen. Not fancy. Careful with the strength of the salt - the fermented one is soooo salty, the regular ramen is fine. Best ramen in Paris? Nah. There are several other much better spots in Paris Tokyo alone. A piece or two of my gyozas were undercooked.

A few other reviewers have mentioned that this bowl is life changing, etc -- I thought the bowl was good. I'm not sure if it's the best bowl of ramen I've ever had but it was quite enjoyable. The noodles were especially good. I do prefer a heavier broth than most, though -- my dining companions both told me they felt like dying afterwards from the richness. All of the mentions of service (good), tap water (free), room temperature (sweaty) are true. I'd reckon it's worth a visit. read more

Awful experience! The waiter spilled 1/4 of the bowl on my lap and never apologised, he simply said "bowls are greasy". I had an important meeting later on that very day and had to attend it with soiled pants! They didn't offered any kind of compensation and when I asked for one they refused. Had the miso ramen with shoyu tomago (l'oeuf) and chashu (porc roti), no butter. There was a lot to like on first bite. The noodles were quite good: thick for a ramen noodle and cooked to what the Japanese call, "normal hardness." The chashu was flavorful, sliced thin, and amply provided. The egg was just shy of perfect (the yolk was slightly too done) but, again, quite good. This was shaping up to be a four star ramen. Then things went off the rails. I've had a lot of ramen in a lot of places in the world (including, of course, Japan). In my experience, great ramen broth is the tiniest bit too salty when sipped and perfect when had with the noodles or other accompaniments. On first sip of Naritake's ramen broth, the broth was flavorful but very, very salty. The woman next to me had the same issue and ordered a side bowl of broth without miso to dilute her soup. I noticed a few more of these go out, including to the Japanese lady I chatted with in line. I stubbornly, stupidly forged ahead with the ramen as prepared. About a quarter of the way in, I stopped enjoying the soup. The salt was overwhelming. About half way through the bowl, it simply became inedible. Even plucking the noodles out and trying to drain them didn't help: they'd just become saturated with salt. I was about to holler, "Sumimasen," across the room to get that side bowl of dashi, but it was then that I realized my appetite had gone, my heart was palpitating, and I was draining the carafes of water as fast as they could refill them. I gave up on my soup, paid at the register (20 euro for the soup with additions and a Kirin), and sought refuge in my apartment to recover from the salt bomb that'd hit me. I can see why Naritake has good reviews, and I suspect that maybe something was just off with the preparation today, but I can only rate on what I ate. Or, rather, tried to eat. I found this place is overrated. I got romen in miso based soup with spicy chives. The noodle is very good, chewy, not too soft or hard, nice flavor, but the soup is way too salty. The offer free broth for people to dilute their soup, but I had to wash my noodle in the broth in order to finish. I noticed a lot of people asked for additional broth. Other than that, the service is okay, waiting was not too long for us. I probably wouldn't recommend it to my friends. read more

Every time I go here, I am never disappointed. Although there is a queue of about 30 minutes every time, it's so worth it. I highly recommend the miso pork ramen with egg with medium fat. YES!! Hai!!! Yes! This is a great ramen shop, and I've been to traditional/original ramen shops in Tokyo. Very small shop (just like Tokyo), HUGEEEEEEEEEE portions (probably more than Tokyo) and unbelievably tasty. Two could easily share a bowl for lunch. A hearty bowl of soup on a cold day set us to rights here. I had the small cha shu with an egg and, even as a person of substantial size and appetite, found it filling. The miso broth was RICH. But yeah, I'll go back. Can't speak to its authenticity, but I enjoyed the meal. Yes, it's salty, make sure to ask for extra broth and low salt if that bothers you. But it's not overwhelming, and I rarely use much salt. The venue is small, tables and a bar could likely hold no more than 20 or so. I'd expect it'll fill fast and stay full during lunch hours. It was recommended to us both here and by the guy at the Japan Rail Pass store. After I use the pass I'll be able to verify the the quality of the ramen. read more

I just come from Chiba, Japan. My colleague introduced me that Naritake opened the shop in Paris. I used to visit their head shop in Tsudanuma and the branch in Motoyawata. The taste is authentic Tonkotsu base same as Chiba offered. It will be very salty but they offered base wari-soup for people feel salty. I am also very impressed with Gyoza. read more

Best ramen EVER! I never anticipated coming across delicious ramen in Paris. But after 1.5 weeks of traveling I was craving asian food. We stumbled across this place actually eating an unsatisfying Japanese dinner and we shared 2 bowls of ramen amongst the 3 of us. It was the best decision we made! I'd highly recommend. Well it's all in the name: this place is about ramen and (almost) nothing else. While I'm not a huge fan of pork flavor (the soup's taste is really intense), I was positively surprised. I had to spice things up a bit with a lot of chili oil, but then it got really yummy. The gyoza (as a side dish) are to die for, I've never eaten any even remotely as good. Overall it was surprisingly good value (for Paris), simple ramen is 9.00, gyoza are 5.00 and the portions are of adequate size. You can also order the ramen with less fat. read more

Very fulfilling meal indeed. As expected, there was a queue of people lined up outside the restaurant but the wait was not long - maybe 10 minutes with 5 people ahead of us. It was a small restaurant with excellent service and food. I had the shoyu (soy) broth with roasted pork plus add on egg and 2 orders of gyozas to share. I also asked for not too salty. The gyoza was perfect; thin skin, tender tasty morsel of pork, cabbage and a bit of chives. The ramen noodle was none like I've ever had, the broth was really thick but not too salty plus the nice Japanese waiter gave me a separate bowl of clear pork broth. The last best ramen I had was in Vancouver and the broth wasn't so thick but equally delicious. The roasted pork melted in with the ramen noodle. It was really good. A bit overrated ramen . Maybe it's a preference for other types of ramen , however it sure is amongst the better ramen options in Paris

The wait for us was about 30 min at 9 pm on a Wednesday. It's a hole in the wall with limited seating, and some counter seating, hence the long line. I had what I thought was the spicy soyu ramen, maybe I didn't hear the waitress correctly, but it wasn't spicy at all. It came out with a slice of super tender pork, lots of cabbage, and bean sprouts ( don't personally like too much bean sprouts). I really enjoyed the thick and somewhat chewy texture of the ramen noodles. The broth was very flavorful, but on the thicker side than I would have liked. There was a layer of fats or buttery flavored something which put an end to my overall enjoyment half way through eating this bowl of ramen, overall was too heavy for me. They had a garlic press to add some fresh garlic, that was a nice touch. My husband had the miso ramen with an egg. The egg was perfectly cooked with an intense orange runny color, how they do it I will never know. His broth was on the salty side as others have mentioned. After reading some yelpers reviews, didn't know you can ask for extra broth on the side, we spoke/read no french, our fault. I told husband to pour his water in it to dilute it a bit, but I think he did not want to offend the cook. Also ordered the gyoza, it was good, had a nice crisp on the pan fried side. The gal taking our order was sweet, she took orders for three to four groups while still waiting in line so by the time you sit the food is ready to come out, very efficient. Just a place to try once. If anyone is ever in seattle, Wa, check out Alohoa ramen, you won't be disapointed. read more

I am from LA where we have our own original J-town. I've had my share of ramen from thick, dense soup broths to light ones. This restaurant is owned by Japanese people so I had a hard time communicating since I didn't speak French well. I ordered the regular with chasiu and egg. I liked everything except the saltiness of the broth. The texture of the noodles, the veges and all that came with it was good. The pork slices were meaty and fatty in a good way. The broth was intense and when I told them it's salty, they gave me a bland soup of beef broth so I can dilute it. They have signs in French describing how strong the broth is, but of course I didn't read it. Overall very authentic and will ask them to make it more mild next time! read more

Hands down the worst ramen I've ever eaten! Waited about 30-40 min to get a table. The only good thing about this place is that they take your order while waiting in line so your food is delivered pretty much right after you're seated. I ordered the spicy miso broth with onion, normal fat level, and added an egg (for an extra €1). Personally I think the egg should already be included in the ramen. The rich broth, pork, and noodles were just ok, but I was disappointed that it was not spicy at all. Also, don't get the onion ramen (karanegi) unless you absolutely love onion. It was drowning under an overwhelming mountain of shredded onion. Also the ramen overall was wayyyy too salty! We were only able to eat half of our bowls and when we asked for to go boxes they said they didn't have any. Huh?! What restaurant nowadays doesn't carry to go boxes? Not cool! If you pay for a whole meal you should be able to take your leftovers home. read more

For anyone who loves ramen, let me stop you right now, this is the best. ramen. Period. Don't feel bad that you're in Paris and instead of eating baguettes and macaroons, you're eating ramen. You're stomach will thank you. Your cholesterol will not, but that's another story. You do not need the pat of butter. The broth is rich enough. Please sit at the counter and watch them work. It truly is an amazing show and makes dinner so much more fun. My biggest regret in life is that I waited till my last night to try this place and now have to save up so I can fly across the world to eat this ramen. Felt we had to try this place after seeing all the photos on Yelp showing people lining up outside. We arrived 15 minutes before they opened, and there was already a line. We both had the standard ramen with chasiu pork. The chasiu pork was very tender, and seems to melt in your mouth. While good, the soup was a bit saltier than we are used to. I can't say this is the best ramen I've had because I've had better back home in Southern California, but would recommend anyone to give it a try if you are in Paris and want some ramen. read more

I am a huge ramen enthusiast. This place was pretty good. I liked it much better than Higuma. The ramen was very good and the broth was very tasty. The service was great as well. My only qualm with the ramen is that it was a bit on the salty side. Other than that, I would have given it 5 stars. Way too salty! I wish I didn't eat as much as I did. I woke up that night so dehydrated. I drank a whole bottle of water and was still dehydrated. I'm guessing it was MSG too so, that definitely couldn't have been healthy. If you're the kind of person who can't have enough salt on a meal then go ahead and give it a go.
