The pulled pork was sweet but melt in your mouth delicious, and the brisket was some of the most tender I have had in years. The mild sauce I put on the meat had perfect flavor as well. The meats aren't dripping in sauce which is often used to moisten a bad cook or to disguise poor flavors. Nope. If you want a saucy meal, it's a "self-inflicted wound" in my books, because you're missing out on some great well cooked meat. We didn't go there for side options, so reviewing them isn't the point. Over the years we won MULTITUDES of awards, with our biggest claim that our baked beans took second in the world at the KC Royal. We manufactured and marketed three award-winning sauces and a dry rub. Case made?? Good, keep going please! I accidentally found Luke's a few years back and now I'll drive to Coweta from Tulsa for lunch as it's THAT GOOD!! It's honestly some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten. I went last week for lunch and got my usual, sliced brisket and pulled pork. Both were incredible, but the pork was AMAZING, something that usually doesn't impress me. I can get a butt nice and juicy, but NOTHING like Luke's!!! Not sure if they brine, inject, or what they do?? The meat is soaked with delicious juices and you can tell that it's inside, not just added if that makes sense. The brisket came off the point, which is not what I typically prefer, but it too was incredible. Go early, burnt ends seem to sell out first. Great portions, I always bring home leftovers. It is a tiny mom and pop place so be there by 10:30 to avoid a line that steadily grows until opening. Lukes reminds me of some of the best small, local BBQ joints you find all over Texas.
