    Dead mouse in kountry kitchen?

i've never been here before and i wanted to try something new. I went inside and go put down on the waitlist when i was waiting i was looking around and found a dead mouse behind some stuff. That is actually disgusting. I think this is unacceptable in my opinion. If someone came to me and said they saw a dead mouse in my restaurant i would be embarrassed and you'es should be to.

Oyster and scallop seafood combo. With garden peas and mashed potatoes

Quaint restaurant. Quick service and food comes out quick as well. Lots of choices for sides, but many of the vegetables like the garden peas and the green beans are very clearly canned. It's not terrible, but Id appreciate if they would at least use frozen vegetables. From times I've Been here in the past, years ago everything we ordered always came with a salad. Now I don't think anything does. The sea mullet, when broiled, is amazing. If this is on their specials board and you're in the mood for seafood, it's a travesty to order anything else! Their fried scallops are okay, but the breading came off too easily to really eat. The fried oysters were good though, and for the combo seafood dinner the Portion was plentiful. The country fried steak was small. Their shrimp burgers are piled high with shrimp, I highly recommend that. Cash only! Id certainly recommend it.

The service here is crazy slow! Don't go here unless you have two hours to burn. Food is good, but not with the wait

Fast, attentive service. Food is exactly what you expect and want at a small diner style place. Good for hangovers.

Ambiance 5/5: Loved the casual, beach ambiance and water/dock view, fitting the vibe of a beach town. Service 4/5: Service was friendly overall and pretty prompt Food 2/5: I think we caught them on an off day. The hush puppies and green beans were great. All the fish were unfortunately overcooked and severely under seasoned. And it was unfortunately not just our order but all our friends orders who also ordered to go. Not only was the fish unfortunately tough, but it desperately needed salt and flavor (missing the typical blackened flavor). We were all really disappointed especially since we had heard good things from some customers who had been before. Price 3/5: If the food had been solid, I would have ranked higher. I really would like this to love this place. They were efficient and ambiance was great, doing their best to accommodate the large crowds. But we unfortunately caught them on a bad day.

The bartender was busy working and singing in between taking orders as she prepared drinks for customers. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and offered the specials before we placed our order. We love to sample the menu when we travel and the vast menu of tapas gave us the perfect opportunity to try just about everything. They had a smaller wine selection, but there was something for just about everyone. Our waiter was very attentive and offered suggestions on what to try if we were torn between several menu options. The Spanish lamb meatballs, truffle honey pork belly and rosemary beef were the tapas that stood out as the most flavorful and making us each want just one more bite. The Spanish meatballs were glazed with sriracha which caused me to pause before ordering. However, I'm so happy that we gave them a try. They had a bold flavor, but the whipped feta and cilantro were enough to balance the heat. The truffle honey pork belly was sliced differently. We have only had this cut into cubes at other restaurants in the past. The way that they slice the pork belly is so much better. The pork belly was served with cheese grits. We don't even like cheese grits, but could not get enough of these smoked Gouda grits. The rosemary beef with asparagus and mashed potatoes was perfect. The beef was tender, the asparagus cooked to perfection and who doesn't love mashed potatoes. We visit the crystal coast about twice a year and always try a couple of new places. We look forward to coming back to Circa 81 each time that we visit!
