    Dead mouse in kountry kitchen?

i've never been here before and i wanted to try something new. I went inside and go put down on the waitlist when i was waiting i was looking around and found a dead mouse behind some stuff. That is actually disgusting. I think this is unacceptable in my opinion. If someone came to me and said they saw a dead mouse in my restaurant i would be embarrassed and you'es should be to.

Oyster and scallop seafood combo. With garden peas and mashed potatoes

Quaint restaurant. Quick service and food comes out quick as well. Lots of choices for sides, but many of the vegetables like the garden peas and the green beans are very clearly canned. It's not terrible, but Id appreciate if they would at least use frozen vegetables. From times I've Been here in the past, years ago everything we ordered always came with a salad. Now I don't think anything does. The sea mullet, when broiled, is amazing. If this is on their specials board and you're in the mood for seafood, it's a travesty to order anything else! Their fried scallops are okay, but the breading came off too easily to really eat. The fried oysters were good though, and for the combo seafood dinner the Portion was plentiful. The country fried steak was small. Their shrimp burgers are piled high with shrimp, I highly recommend that. Cash only! Id certainly recommend it.

Don't come here unless you're ready to wait an hour for food. Wait staff is rude. Shouldve went to McDonald's and gotten better service.

Lots of table space, waitstaff friendly and prompt. Huge portions. Best grits I've had in awhile. Prices reasonable.

The bartender was busy working and singing in between taking orders as she prepared drinks for customers. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and offered the specials before we placed our order. We love to sample the menu when we travel and the vast menu of tapas gave us the perfect opportunity to try just about everything. They had a smaller wine selection, but there was something for just about everyone. Our waiter was very attentive and offered suggestions on what to try if we were torn between several menu options. The Spanish lamb meatballs, truffle honey pork belly and rosemary beef were the tapas that stood out as the most flavorful and making us each want just one more bite. The Spanish meatballs were glazed with sriracha which caused me to pause before ordering. However, I'm so happy that we gave them a try. They had a bold flavor, but the whipped feta and cilantro were enough to balance the heat. The truffle honey pork belly was sliced differently. We have only had this cut into cubes at other restaurants in the past. The way that they slice the pork belly is so much better. The pork belly was served with cheese grits. We don't even like cheese grits, but could not get enough of these smoked Gouda grits. The rosemary beef with asparagus and mashed potatoes was perfect. The beef was tender, the asparagus cooked to perfection and who doesn't love mashed potatoes. We visit the crystal coast about twice a year and always try a couple of new places. We look forward to coming back to Circa 81 each time that we visit!

A little remark about our waiter is that we were not cared for but we were at the bar so that might be the reason.

We were here around 9:30 on a Saturday and waited about 40 minutes, but that flew by because we were able to go sit in their coffee/mimosa bar area and wait to be paged. The vibes in both spaces are pretty classic beach diner. It's a relaxed but busy atmosphere. Our waiter was super attentive and kind and we didn't feel rushed despite how busy they were. I had the Land and Sea Benedict, which comes on a giant biscuit and has fried green tomatoes, eggs done your way, shrimp, Cajun gravy, and bacon crumbles. I am particular about biscuits and this one was excellent (soft without being doughy, appropriately crumbly without falling apart). The tomatoes were super crispy without being overly greasy. My over-easy eggs were perfect, as were the shrimp, and the gravy was excellent. The grits I had with it really lived up to their reputation of being smooth and creamy, with no need for butter. My mom had the "Kitchen Sink" omelet, and very much enjoyed it. The ingredients were fresh and nothing was over or under done, which can be hard with such a variety of ingredients. The home fries that came with it were terrifically crispy. I also appreciate that they make their own hot sauce, as well as the mix for their Bloody Mary (which my mom also loved) I enjoyed my peach mimosa and got a kick out of all of the different flavor options. I'd love to explore their lunch menu too. I'll definitely frequent again next time I'm out this way!
