I wanted to give this more stars when I first came in but with no a/c it's hard to do. Today probably cost another star since they haven't had A/C for the past 3 days. It's been grueling to wait extra time due to staff shortages and to try to sit and eat in humidity while you sweat. We came at 11am for I'm pretty sure they won't stay open too long so long as the days keep reaching 90 degrees. They also don't have enough condiments like ketchup, hot sauce, or syrup aside form the 2 bottles of each shared between 15 tables or so. Service from the kitchen or the communication from the server to the kitchen has a variety of problems from food items missing, cook instructions not followed, cold food, and not enough wait staff to handle this place when tables are full. I have the best tip that will improve the visit for us it's asking for Carol, she really does work hard to check on you and fix any problems. She is running all over the place trying to get to each table. Probably best to come during off hours when 1 server might only have 1-4 tables, if you don't have a lot of time or patient or don't want to sweat lol and maybe stay away from weekends or brunch hours.

Finally open for business under new ownership and new name. Great locally owned and operated eatery that serves tasty homemade style meals. The portion sizes are ample, the food is priced right, good selection on the menu, lots of parking, open very early in the morning, and friendly staff. The place looks nice inside and was kept clean and tables cleared and cleaned as quickly as possible. I ordered the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and salad for about $12. I did not have a long wait, and for being a gran opening, things seemed to flow pretty smooth, as the place was busy and a bit hectic. The staff remained friendly and kept my ice water filled for me as needed, and the check came on time, with minimal wait time. The salmon tasted good and the taters were hot and as expected, and the salad, well it was lettuce and just a salad, ha, not a favorite but was fine to eat. I will be back to try many other items on the menu and they offer a big selection of Al a carte items to choose from if you want a wider selection that what comes with your order. My plate was full and so was I when I left.

Name changed from Kountry Korner to Barbara's Family Restaurant. Ownership remains the same, they just wanted reflect family dining. A small mom and pop restaurant with 7 booths and 8 tables. Breakfast crowd on Saturday but didn't wait long for a table. Bathroom is outside in the back and accessible from the side door in the dining room. Our Server, Lydia, arrived promptly and took our order. We ordered breakfast and was served within 10 minutes. They also serve beer and wine, which is unusual for a breakfast (lol) but fits better with their lunch and dinner crowd. Menu is 1 page breakfast, The rest is lunch/dinner featuring burgers, seafood and specialty sandwiches. You have to ask for the beer and wine list. We added this restaurant to our favorites list for our regular weekend breakfast tradition.

Food was excellent cooked to order not half done and warmed up like chains. Small hometown diner. Fun to be there listening to the locals.

Food tastes like it's out of a can instead of cooked fresh. I expected more from a down home southern restaurant. Not much variety.

First things first, the view is absolutely spectacular. Vast oceanfront and beach/dock view right…read morenext to our table, and the sunset was exceedingly beautiful today. Service was pretty good, our server was very friendly and helpful, but they seemed to be pretty busy so he didn't come around too much (which we also appreciated, as it was just enough space and attention). Food was better than I expected! All of the dishes were well-cooked and flavorful, the drinks (mango margarita) were a bit strong but loved, and nothing was too salty or too bland. We started with a dozen oysters which were very fresh and slightly chewy (different from northern oysters that I usually have), then had the cod, crab cakes, and snapper, all with well-paired sauces and great sides (the snapper was slightly overcooked). Everyone got complimentary sunset shots as the sun was dipping towards the horizon, and we finished off with a giant slice of key lime pie (that we couldn't quite fit in so we took back because it was too good to waste). Overall good experience and will definitely be back to try more!

I hate to rate them this low. However, my grouper was cool, not lukewarm, but cool. The Grouper was…read morerather dry, and that was frustrating. I tasted more filling than crab in my small crabcake. The veggies were cool. However, the sauce was rather tasty. My wife had a similar experience. I also ordered the Key Lime. If you've seen many of my hundreds of reviews, I love me some Key Lime. Look, I became hungry just thinking about a slice. Regrettably, this Key Lime was disappointing in taste. The rather larger crust could've been outstanding, but alas, it too was plain. My daughter enjoyed her chicken salad but didn't like the salty fries. My mother-in-law didn't believe her Snapper meal was Snapper. She said it was moist. Yet, she said it was okay. Disclaimer: The Server was great, but she was taking care of a group of 14 people. The people who came out to help her deliver the food were ok. We asked several times whether the "Catch of the Day" was the Flounder. We were repeatedly told, "No." It was. Consequently, those who ordered it also had cooler food. I believe those issues contributed to the food temperature. This place came highly recommended. In short, I wasn't pleased with paying $164 for three mediocre meals. I encourage you to try them out. I plan on taking my wife back there on August 27 to give them another chance. I'm certain it'll be much better.

It's a great place to share a meal with family & friends. It was very comforting! We were greeted immediately by Dilara. She was so friendly and helpful throughout the visit. She even gave me a great suggestion on choice of drinks. The Milkis Banana Soda was the perfect fit for me. The restaurant started to get very busy at lunch time, and none of it phased her. She handled it like a pro. We started with the Corn Cheese appetizer. I would have never tried it if my friend had not mentioned it the day before. It was such a great shareable dish. It's delivered all bubbly on a hot plate. It looks almost like Mexican street corn, but it has a totally different flavor profile. It was almost sweet enough to be a dessert. I love that sweet cheese topping! It was a cold day, so we decided to get soup. I went with the Galbitang, and my friend selected the Soft Tofu Stew. It also came out bubbling hot, and served in its own cast iron pot. A very hot pot, so don't touch it. Lol! The rib meat was plentiful. There was a large rib bone in my soup. The meat was so tender, and fell right off the bone. The broth was meaty and full of flavor. There wasn't a whole lot of glass noodles, so I suggest you add the meat dumplings for an extra $5. Otherwise, just add the rice that comes with it. It was perfect with the rice. The banchan sides were also very tasty. I was surprised that the kimchi wasn't overly spicy. I really loved all the different flavors. What's even better is that they don't rely on salt to make it tasty. All the natural flavors of the rich rib meat shined through in the broth. It was a meal to be savored slowly as the broth started cooling off from the hot temperature. You can actually carry on a conversation while enjoying it, and not worry about your soup getting cold. Again, it was a very comfortable & enjoyable experience! We wanted to try the Korean Hotteok for dessert. Unfortunately, they didn't have any that day. I definitely want to go back and try that. I'm also very interested in trying their vegetable ramyun & gimbap lunch combo. There was a Bulgogi Wrap special that also looked very reasonable. They have different specials each month. Everything was great! I could definitely tell that a lot of hard work goes into making each and every dish. This hidden gem deserves multiple return visits. It's very close to the Manatee Viewing Center, so you might as well check it out while you're in the area.
