My friend came to visit, and we decided to go to Latitudes for a quick bite since we didn't want to drive far. The place was nicely decorated for the holidays and they also had live music. We chose to sit outside and the service was smooth. I ordered the salmon which was delicious and perfectly moist, though my quinoa was a bit bland to my taste. My friend enjoyed his shrimp dish. My only critique is that our server came as we were having our last bites to ask if she could bring the check, rather than asking if we wanted anything else. I was actually planning to order another class of that Chardonnay, but I went to the wine bar next door for it. Our server was very young and sweet, so perhaps just need a little more experience. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

    1lb peel n eat shrimp

Had a pretty disappointing outing at Latitudes. It was around 1pm on Saturday we went in for lunch, and the place was dead. About 12 people in the place. After ordering our food, it took over 40 minutes for it to come out, and by that time only 4 other people remained in the restaurant. When we asked about what the delay was we were ignored multiple times. We were told it was our peel n eat shrimp APPETIZER they were waiting on. Anyone who has made shrimp knows it takes minutes to cook and an immediate ice bath to cool down. It was very frustrating. Additionally the smashed burger came out lukewarm and the expectation with a smash burger is that it's smashed (thin) but these were rather thick and slightly pink inside. The fries were also very salty. The shrimp were however very good and fresh, but that was about it.

    Traditional breakfast

Here on a Sunday because they have a brunch menu, The menu has about 10 to 15 options approximately and I went with the traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and toast. I have to say it was very delicious and I received just enough. My wife went with the breakfast burger which has an egg and bacon with a side of breakfast potatoes. It was a nice size burger that my wife was only able to eat a few bites. Our friends dining with us ordered chicken & waffles and shrimp & grits. They both said that their meals ( not pictured ) were delicious and the one thing that was pleasant was the chicken is a boneless breast. The service was very good and the bill was about what I thought it would be. If in Apollo Beach it's definitely worth trying

We had a great dinner here on an early Sunday evening. We shared Wonton Wrapped Shrimp - yummy. I chose the "build your bowl" with Salmon, rice, spinach. Lots of bowl choices, and mine was very good. He got the fried shrimp plate with rice and green beans. Nice big shrimp, delicious. Maria was our server - friendly, excellent. Ambiance is intimate, sports bar, tables, high tops, bar side. Had the games on. Nice big menu. Affordable. Recommend for sure .

The raw oysters were great and the baked oysters almost as good. We enjoyed the clam chowder, the grouper oscar style and the cajun pasta. The lobster grilled cheese was good. The cod was just alright, the snapper wasn't our favorite. Both the cod and snapper were overcooked. We didn't the sides cause it was just ok. The cocktails weren't the best. But the service was great, we were the only ones that sat inside because of the love bugs. But the inside was a bit old and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest. Everyone was in the best mood, spirits were high, and live music was a great addition. Service and food were good, loved the dessert--key lime pie! The location is drop dead gorgeous, a great place to stay for an overnight and or vacation. The beach is also very pretty, it is on the small side but perfectly situated on the property. Would definitely recommend coming here for food and drinks, staying overnight, or just hanging out on the beach.

The pull apart focaccia was a stand out alongside the Cesar salad. For mains we shared two of their most popular pasta dishes and they were cooked perfectly. The Cornichon asparagus was also a fun side to try out. For my birthday they brought out birthday cake ice cream with a candle alongside a hand written card. Will absolutely be back!

I want to preface this by saying we are easygoing, forgiving people who rarely complain, so it takes a lot for us to leave a review like this. I was especially excited going in after reading the chef's bio, which references Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons. I dined there back in the late 90s, and it remains one of the best meals of my life, right up there with dinner at Alain Ducasse in NYC. That pedigree set my expectations high, though not unrealistic ones. Unfortunately, the execution at Elliot Aster did not come close to living up to that lineage. **The good:** The team acknowledged our anniversary with a card at the table and a glass of champagne with dessert. The filet was cooked perfectly, the gnocchi was well done, and dessert was excellent. **The not so good:** Nearly everything else. Getting to the restaurant itself was confusing. There was no valet greeting, no doorman, and no signage in the lobby pointing us to Elliot Aster, so we had to ask the front desk for directions. Once seated, service was disorganized from start to finish. We ordered cocktails while waiting for our table, and they took 45 minutes to arrive, after multiple follow ups and having to close out a bar tab before the drinks even showed up. My martini arrived nothing like the version advertised (one plain olive instead of the three blue cheese stuffed olives pictured on their own Instagram). Later, at the bar, a port and a beer sat forgotten for 20+ minutes before our server realized he had never brought them over. Our entrees also arrived before we had finished our cocktails, which felt rushed rather than paced for a fine dining experience. The octopus starter was well seared but the flavor combination felt scattered, and the truffle sauce on my filet had almost no truffle flavor, especially disappointing given the chef's pedigree. One small but telling detail: the decorative olive trees hanging over our table were visibly dusty, which was distracting and not something you want to notice at a white tablecloth dinner. No server mentioned a signature dish, made a recommendation, or referenced a sommelier. We never saw one on the floor. I also want to mention the dress code, or lack thereof. We understand we are in Florida, and a laid back approach makes sense here. But asking guests not to wear shorts or t-shirts does not seem unreasonable for a restaurant at this level. Gym clothes, which we saw on more than one guest, is simply not acceptable at this tier of dining. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I understand things go wrong, but this was a long list of avoidable missteps, not one off bad luck. Given the chef's background and the promise it suggested, this was a real letdown. The bar itself is gorgeous, and we had genuinely hoped this would become a regular spot for us, especially given the lounge menu. We were hoping for something reminiscent of La Belle Vie in Minneapolis, a place that held a special spot in our hearts. Unfortunately, based on this visit, we cannot recommend Elliot Aster or The Vinoy.

From the moment we walked in we knew we were going to be in for a great experience. It is overwhelming when you arrive. So many different venues with different names. Very confusing at first. Well done on atmosphere! DH & I came for dinner around 6 on a Sat evening. We figured we'd have a wait but they seated us within 20 mins of arriving. We asked to be seated outside with a water view. They don't disappoint. Our waiter was fantastic. Always tentative and remembering the little things. To start DH ordered a beer. It was served & cold. I ordered a Mojito which was ok, nothing special. For dinner I got the Lump Crab BLT. Don't expect big lumps of crab meat. The rest of the ingredients are a hint of flavors & that really made it great. Beware, it is a delicious but very messy sandwich. The side salad was a hit. Very fresh & flavorful. DH ordered the Tenderloin Steak Sandwich. He was very happy with the flavor. It was not dried out and had a good seasoning. His side of fries were good too. The atmosphere can't be beat.
