If you are looking for a vet you can trust keep looking. We have used Koy for 6 years. Over the last 2 years the service and compassion have continued to decline with this vet and his team. It has been a month since our botched euthanization of our beloved friend. No blanket, rushed to say good bye, no sedative. We got to look our baby in the eye when they stopped her heart. Traumatizing. I regret not getting a second opinion, I regret trusting this vet, I regret making a follow up appt on a Friday before a 4 day weekend when they obviously just wanted to be off to head to the lake. We have been loyal clients for over 30 years. We loved Dr. Koy and when he retired Dr Webster took over and we never missed a beat. Dr Webster quickly caught our Goldendoodle's cancer diagnosis which resulted in a successful removal. He also saved our Labradoodle when he had an anemia issue. We have 8 rescue dogs and Koy Animal clinic is very accommodating in ordering meds from Pet MD or Chewy's or really any place cheaper. They could refuse and overcharge like most vet clinics but they don't. And we can call anytime for med refills or advice. They are NOT part of a chain of vet offices like most in town and the staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Super frustrated with Koy Animal Clinic. After being told that my dog needed emergency surgery for a lump that one vet described as likely being a very aggressive form of cancer, I received a call post-surgery saying it was a fatty tumor all along, "just as they had suspected." Kinda felt like an unnecessary surgery and an unnecessary $800 bill at that point. Add that to the fact that there have been multiple issues of confused communication. If you get routed to the voicemail, don't expect a call back. They are FINALLY letting you come inside the building with your pet, but the building reeked of urine last time I was there. They used to be a good clinic, but I'm sad to say that we'll be finding another vet after yet another issue with this clinic. read more

When I calledfor an appointment for euthanasia, they couldn't fit me in for at least a week. they also said its standard practice that vets would not offer euthanasia to new patient, which was nit true. Koy animal clinic charged for services not rendered, specifically on 8/20/21 charged for a $42 well visit and gave an unauthorized and not agreed to shot for $28 when we took our dog in for an ear cleaning. We only agreed to a cleaning not the extra charges they added. They were to do a second application of the gel on 8/26 and refused to perform the service we had already paid for, more below. Total for that was $125.50 Additionally their staff gave my spouse a verbal estimate for tooth cleaning on 8/17/2021 for $250-300. When I took our pet In on 8/24 for the cleaning they told me they do not give verbal estimates and in the process called my spouse a liar. On that day the story changed and I was presented with a sheet of over $300 additional charges related to the teeth cleaning and that wasn't even the full estimate of cost. When I questioned them the story changed again and they said well you need an estimate and their staff became argumentative. I told them I was not there to argue and well aware of what they told my spouse. They then go and fabricate an estimate of $498.80 and hand that to me. I asked for my dog back and went on my way. 8/25 my spouse calls to see when to bring in our dog for the second application of the ear cleaner. The one we already paid for and they then say they will not perform the service. They did give that gel for us to self administer and told her they are giving us our records and we are no longer a client. Clearly poor communication with the staff and we are gladly moving on to a more ethical and transparent vet for the care of our aging dogs. They only take your pet from your car, do not let anyone in the building, no questions or discussion on treatment or costs and when you do raise concerns they just backhandedly end the relationship. I asked to speak with the owner and have attempted to call but they do not answer their phone. Strongly suggest others to not give them your business. read more

I adopted a kitten that turned out to have a "mental" problem where it would eat non-food items. He ate something that gave him a blockage, he got very sick and we thought he might die. Koy helped but it cost a lot of money. We did our best to keep all small objects out of the kitten's reach, but within a few months he got into a trash can and ate a plastic wrapper. This one was a more serious blockage and Koy wanted a lot more money to do exploratory surgery. We could not afford it, so they asked us to surrender the kitten to them and they would handle it. I signed him over to Koy and said my goodbyes to him. They never told me what happened to him, but when we went to adopt another kitten from the Williamson County shelter, they said we were not allowed to get one because Koy had told them we abandoned the kitten! The older lady at the front desk with blond hair was gruff, short tempered and acted like she was better than me. I have been going to Koy's since 2006 and have been very happy with them. Dr. Webster sees my two male cats and Dr Hensley sees my female dog. The cats have been "trouble free" but my dog has had a couple of serious issues. Dr. Hensley has worked with us to get the correct specialists involved, then made sure she was always up to date on my dog's situation. The front office staff has always been nice to me. I have seen other posts on other review sites talk about the front office being rude but it must be with someone I have never met as the people I deal with always go out of their way to check you in, check you out, and get your meds ready in a friendly manner. Couldn't ask for a better front office staff. Koy's makes you feel that your animal and you are important. If you live in the Georgetown area I highly recommend them. read more

I'm so sad to say that we I had a terrible experience here today. We had to put my mom's sweet dog down and really wish we had chosen a different vet to go to. I came with her for support and I'm SO GLAD I DID. I don't even want to think about her being here by herself after this experience. First off, I was told ahead of time that we wouldn't have to wait very long in the waiting room (for obvious reasons) because we had an appointment. Well, we waited almost 30 minutes!! My poor mom was a mess. Then when we got back into the exam room, the vet didn't say one word to us. There was just awkward silence. He hardly even made eye contact with my mom, would only look at the dog. Didn't explain what he was going to do, what to expect, how my mom could participate...no preparation, no details. Terrible bedside manner. Finally, once the procedure was over and the body packed up for home burial, the nurse showed some compassion towards us when she brought out the body. I'm so sad. This vet clinic made a very hard experience even worse. It shouldn't be that way. I hope this review gets read and considered because I hope we are the last people that have to go through this type of loss in this manner. read more

I can't say enough good about this place. Our usual vet is a different company due to location, but Koy was there for us in an emergency today, and I'm so thankful! Our pup was chewing on branches while his daddy cut a tree down and ended up with a large stick caught firmly on the roof of his mouth. Attempts to dislodge it were in vain, so we took him to the closet place we knew of, Koy Vet Clinic. Even without an appointment, and in the middle of the coronavirus lockdown, they took our boy in and immediately went to work, no questions asked. They kept us aware throughout by coming out to our Jeep multiple times while we waited and letting us know what they were doing and how it was going. We were in and out within an hour, most of which was spent waiting for our pup to wake up from sedation. They were kind, quick, and incredibly fairly priced. I've taken my two dogs to Koy Animal Clinic for the last eleven years, and have always been happy with the high-quality care they received. In this last year, one of our dogs became ill with chronic kidney failure. We had to take him to an emergency vet clinic elsewhere when it began, and we were told that he was weeks away from death. On follow-up with Dr Webster at Koy, he suggested showing us how to give our dog daily sub-cutaneous fluids, and ways to manage his disease that might extend his life in a high-quality manner. That was almost a year ago. Our sweet dog just lost his fight this week, but Dr Webster and the wonderful, warm staff at Koy gave him and us a priceless extra happy year with him. They were available to answer my questions, to make changes when needed, and to cheer on his progress. Dr Webster was able to support us when it was time to say goodbye, and the procedure was peaceful, very quick and very gentle. I cant say enough wonderful things about Dr Webster and all of the kind and caring techs. This is a clinic that gives high-quality care AND bedside manner. I have been taking our dogs here for over 13 years and have had nothing but fantastic service here. Reading the negative reviews on here is absolutely NOT the experience I have had here. They are friendly, personable, professional and knowledgeable. We currently have a special needs dog and Dr Alcaino has been nothing but fantastic! She has called me multiple times to find out how Lily is doing. At one point we were pretty sure we would need to put her down and Dr Alcaino wanted to check her out and found that she was diabetic and helped us figure out how to manage it. I took my pure bred whippet puppy to Koy animal clinic the day I bought him. They've taken care of him with vaccines. One of which caused him to collapse. Then he came down with demodex. His treatment is dips for 6 weeks weekly. I brought him here before 8am leaving him til 2pm. When I came to pick him up they hadn't touched him. Hadn't dipped him. He's been sitting in a crate for 6 hours. He hadn't eaten or had a drink. No one has been taking care of him. I'm livid and won't be back. I'm taking both my whippets to Goodwater. I don't appreciate this kind of service and it makes me really sad. They don't seem to care. No one apologized or even seemed sorry. The supervisor should've come out front to talk to me. I am devastated with the loss of my 14 year old toy poodle. We've been taking her to Koy since moving here 6 yrs ago. She was recently diagnosed with Cushings disease and was due for her first 2 week blood test when the previous Saturday she exhibited signs of respiratory distress. Koy was already closed for the weekend so we took her to the Emergency Pet hospital in Round Rock. We discovered she had a collapsed trachea and had to put her to sleep. The hospital sent her records to Koy. Now it is almost two weeks later and Koy has yet to contact me. A phone call or card would be appreciated . This callousness is unconscionable. I received a bouquet of 18 fresh long stem roses with a condolence card from Chewy.com today which absolutely astonished me. But her vet can't bother. read more

Myself, daughter & 2 grandkids took Sadie to Dr Webster on Mon October 10, 2016 to be put to sleep as she had gone blind & was unable to stand up & was losing weight. Sadie was 17. I told Dr Webster the last time I had to do this with Beauty age 16 the vet gave her a tiny shot she did feel & she just went to sleep in my lap. Dr Webster gave Sadie a shot in muscle that severely hurt her & she screamed out in pain. Then the tiny shot. He never told me he intended to hurt her like he did. Brought my cat in this morning for what I thought was a stomach bug of come kind. I was being helped by a new young doctor who took my cat to the "back" to draw blood and to give him a hydration treatment. A few minutes later the nurse returns to collects my carrier without explanation. Then the doctor returned and informed me that my cat had bit her so she was going to report it to the local animal control and that I could not have my cat back. When I went a little bonkers, another doctor came in and explained that this was fairly routine and that I would be able to take my cat home for a 10 day quarantine once the report was filed. But meanwhile they had to keep my cat until the report was filed. Three hours later I returned to pick my cat up and found out that the 10 day quarantine was to occur at the local ANIMAL SHELTER and I would not be able to see him, hold him, or touch him for 10 days. Stay away from these bozo's....they lie, they're clearly incompetent (as any vet that doesn't know about or prepare for animal bites in their line of work probably shouldn't be a vet imho.) After 20 years of putting my trust in them, I will never set foot on to their property again. Dr. Koy, a great vet who started the practice is long retired. Save your pet's life and go somewhere else. read more

They OVER charge you and give your pets shots without first clearing it with the owners. I dropped my mom's dog off with specific instructions to bath him and wrap his foot which he has been chewing on. I explained that the little guy had already seen several vets already. When I picked him up they had charged for a rabies shot (which if they had bothered to ask I could have provided them proof he had a current) gave him a shot (not authorized) tried to bill me for antibiotic's which I refused as I told them he had already had a dose for over a month. I wrote a letter and have yet to either receive a refund or a call from them. I brought him in for a bath and to wrap his foot....Original bill $195.60....after taking the pilsl off I paid them $173.60. Fast forward and my 79 year old mother takes him back to them to re-bandage him foot and they charge her $70.00 (included a Elizabethan collar for $10).......I would NOT recommend them to anyone. This is the best vet clinic you could ever take your animals to. I took my cat October to another vet to get fixed. Afterwards, she became sick. Their response was that they didn't know why she was sick and to give her fluids; they responded this way multiple times. I finally had enough and took her to Koy. Dr. Webster not only diagnosed her problem immediately but knew she had to go to a specialist; unfortunately she was too sick and ended up passing on. When I called the original vet, their response was, ok thanks for letting us know! When I called Koy, they were very sympathetic, even though they had only seen her one time! I knew after this I would trust only Koy. Even when I lived in Kyle, I would still make the drive to Georgetown to see them for my pets' needs, because they are that trustworthy. It's now 12 years later, and I still take my three cats and Great Dane to Koy. They are amazing and extremely knowledgeable.
