Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. A simple mistake with our order should have been an easy fix, but instead of handling it professionally, the manager argued with us and treated our group with unnecessary attitude. Rather than resolving the issue, the situation escalated and the manager welcomed a hostile and uncomfortable situation. The food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The Ambiance was nice and suited to a date night or family meal. The meal started with some warm bread drizzled with olive oil and served with an olive tapenade - different and very good. I had the lamb doner and my husband had the chicken. We tried the bulgar and it was nicely seasoned, not too spicy, but there was hot sauce for those that wanted it. The large Shephard's salad was a very generous portion for 2 and we had to bring half of it home. The mango coconut dessert was a nice finish which we shared. Turkish food here was good! This location has been around for about a year, but their previous location was there for 9 years. We were served by Cameron. She was sweet and gave us recommendations from the menu. We decided to get 1 combo plate and the sultan delight to try a little of everything. We tried the chicken and lamb gyro, lamb and chicken adana kabob. Compliments to the dish included some picked onions and cabbage, sautéed mushrooms and tomatoes. There are two sauces that were brought out to the table. We enjoyed the white sauce, but not the orange sauce (tasted like peri peri sauce which did not complement the food. The food was delicious and portion sizes were good--we had leftovers to go. The only other issue was that you had to walk out of the restaurant and around the corner to access the bathroom. I typically don't know what to expect from a place that's two doors down from a Home Depot, yet this is an unexpected surprise of service, atmosphere and simply good food. The menu is varied, and while some of the dishes were better than others, the selection and design of each will certainly give you lots of options to choose from and help you find something you like. The service was fast and friendly, although they did not know how to strike a balance between leaving us alone and asking how we're doing every 10 minutes, which was extremely excessive. My family and I dined here on Father's Day; despite a last-minute reservation, they were willing to accommodate us. The restaurant decor is beautiful and elegant, so we were impressed when we walked in. We started off with apps - the shepherd salad and crispy phyllo rolls. Both were very good and the salad was quite fresh. Dinner was several different platters: grilled salmon, sultan's delight (you can choose the meats), mixed lamb & beef platter, etc. All of them were excellent - I recommend the bulgur instead of rice which was heartier for the meats. The portion sizes were huge and enough for 2 days worth of leftovers. Our family enjoyed our meal and would like to return. I was really excited to try Koy Grill, I hadn't been here in several years and it has great reviews. The decor is cool and they have a ton of workers. It smells delicious as soon as you walk in, and that's where it all went downhill. To be fair we did not have a reservation! We waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged a very busy worker who asked us to move to the waiting area. As we didn't have a reservation and it was busy we understood we were going to wait. After 15 minutes, which isn't long considering we had no reservation we were seated, with menus and a chilled water bottle. Ten more minutes passed so I finally flagged down a person who brought us metal wine goblets, and about 10 more minutes go by, so my husband says, "you know what I want to get. I'm going to go to the restroom and I'll be back. " When he came back, no one had still come to take our order. There were eight people or more standing near the waiter station. There was a full restaurant and one very stressed out guy bringing out the food and no one else was doing anything.. We waited 10 more minutes and then I said, "I think we need to leave. They're never going to come take our order and I'm really hungry." We stood up and walked out of the restaurant-the very stressed out man who seemed to be the only person working there asked us where we were going, and we said, "we had been waiting seated for over 25 minutes with huge menus and no one took our order and so we're leaving." He looked shocked, assumably because he knew everyone was standing there doing nothing while he was the only one working. If there is a restaurant manager there, they were not doing anything. The 8 workers stayed in their cubby standing there doing nothing. No one was walking around offering water. Nobody seemed to be taking orders. Nobody seem to be doing anything. Nobody had bread and again I'm not really sure what was happening. So, it's probably a really delicious restaurant, but it's very very hard to understand why people were standing around the restaurant in the back near the waiter station and not one person came to take our order. There was no circulation at all of the workers, it was a full restaurant and none of them were walking around, no one was doing anything... I was really dissatisfied, I wanted to try it. We ended up at the Turkish Place on Route nine where Nonna's used to be. It was also packed, but fortunately we were seated immediately, they were swamped but we were eating in 10 minutes and it was great. All the chicken dishes were good. The chicken meat was moist. They have a lot of desserts to choose from. The Baklava was flaky and delicious. My favorite waitress was there to take good care of us and make sure everything is OK. Service was terrific. We had a good time eating here. There's no alcohol but you can BYOB. We arrived at the restaurant at literally 9:20 pm which is 40 min before closing and we were told to order fast. I understand the staff needs to go home and also it didnt sound like my culture but i get they wanted to go home. After that sentence, the staff told us they no longer to wait until the closing time at 10 pm and they will actually close the door at 9:45 pm. No way we would order and eat all within 25 min. So they basically said take out or dont place an order at 9:20pm. Also the customers looked like they were going to sit more than 40 min but anyway thats not the point. The staff turned us down. We came here for a Wednesday lunch, and the lunch specials are great! I got the lamb kabobs and my husband got a Kofte. Both lunch dishes are serviced with salad and delicious rices. Perfect amount of food at a great price. Kofte was a little dry but I have read other reviews stating sometimes the meats can be hit or miss. When you check-in, you get a free Kazandibi (dessert). This was one of the BEST desserts I have had in a very long time. Amazing, delicious, I've never had anything like this before. It's like a flan on crack. You must get it. Although the juxtaposition of classical Turkish decor and modern Turkish club music was confusing and unsettling (try chewing to the beat, it's anxiety inducing), the harmony of flavors and great quality of ingredients distinguishes Koy for more than its vibes. The complimentary Sesame Bread and Olive Oil I could eat for days. The bread is perfectly toasted and well suited for dunking in the olive oil. The oil might be the best I've had, with the flavor of olives bursting with each bite. The Cold Appetizer Platter is much recommended. The Eggplant and the Baba Ganouch in particular stood out for their smoky flavors. The Dolma was simple yet pleasant. There was a tomato sauce that was like chunky salsa, so much like it that I thought it tasted more Mexican than Turkish. The "Beef Liver" was slightly bland, but very fresh as it did not have an overly liver taste. I liked that it was sautéed so it had a nice sear but wasn't overly oily. Perfect for dipping into the Labni from the appetizer platter. The Red Lentil Soup was - next to the bread - the BEST part of the meal. It has a hearty flavor that warms up the soul. The fresh parsley on top brings it all together. The Lamb Gyro Pita Wrap was VERY disappointing. The gyro meat is dry, and the peppers inside are pickled. I would have liked it to be served with griddled onions. The pita wasn't toasted either. It felt like something from a food stand, not at all to the higher gourmet-esque standard of the rest of their food. I subbed the fries with the Bulgar Rice, which I recommend. Although a little bland, with their great white and red sauce it could be a meal all on its own. Lastly, the Kazandibi Dessert is AMAZING. The crumbled pistachios on top are perfectly complimented by a light drizzle of white and dark chocolate. The rice pudding base is actually a gelatinous bed, almost like Flan, but without the egg flavor. It's the perfect way to end the meal. read more

Went with my husband for lunch and there was absolutely nobody in there. When we were about halfway done with lunch a few more tables of people came in. Service was good. Food was delicious. The lunch menu includes a half portion dish off their regular menu plus a drink and appetizer for $12. I chose the chicken shish and it was more than enough food. We opted for an extra app too for $3 more. My husband ordered the shrimp off the regular menu. His dish was $17. Kind of pricy for lunch but we had A LOT of food. Save room for dessert. The pistachio baklava doesn't look great in my pic but it was delicious. One portion had four small servings. Easily shareable. If you're looking for a quick meal this isn't the place for you.
