Can be a little noisy but otherwise a perfect evening at their Manalapan location in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Our server Yenny was terrific and management also dropped by a couple of times. The food was excellent. The Marouli Salad may have been the best I have had. The hummus and baba ghanoush were also very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their mains. Prices, especially for the entrees, were reasonable for this day and age. We have eaten here many times since the day they opened. But I have to say the dinner we had this past Friday was beyond delicious. The Brancino was perfectly grilled and the lemon garlic sauce was mouth watering. The asparagus side dish was prepared in the same sauce. My husband's gyro was tender and delicious as well as huge! The food is tasty but the portions are huge. One entree can feed 2-3 people depending on your appetite. If salt is an issue know that there is a lot of salt in certain dishes. Especially the gyro. We will come back but order less. read more

Another fabulous meal, it's like cheers where they know your name, and we have customers have a mutual respect for the staff. What an excellent meal tonight the stuffed shrimp with asparagus it was the best butterfly shrimp we've ever had and the beef flame Gyro platter was moist tender so tasty my wife and I wound up ordering one dish at a time and sharing so we got to enjoy both together. The restaurant is small, but friendly. They brought to the table cut up pita bread along with Greek Olives while you waited for your meal. I had the falafel platter. There was enough for 3 meals, but only one pita bread. The food was very tasty. My husband had 2 very large stuffed peppers with meat and rice in it and some roasted potatoes. The service was good, but only one waitress. But, Maria was very pleasant and on top of everything. They had a bus boy cleaning up your table as you were finished with a plate. Very efficient. We had a great dinner at The Greek Spot in Manalapan. The service was attentive which set the tone right away. They brought out warm, fresh pita with olives in olive oil to start...simple but spot-on. For mains, we had the lamb souvlaki with a salad, a perfectly cooked bronzino with Greek fries, and stuffed shrimp served with asparagus. Everything was flavorful, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. The quality for the price makes this place an easy win. Tasty food, good value, and servers that clearly care. The Greek spot was very good and gave a large amount of food and the quality was excellent. The beef and lamb gyro was stuffed and came in 2 large pitas and the Greek fries side was excellent and the fries were nice and crispy. We were a large party and the service was fast and very on point constantly refilling empty drinks and checking to see if we had everything we needed. From the outside it looked small but when we walked in the inside was pretty big and roomy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice portioned well cooked Greek meal. read more

Been here many times and in the beginning they gave you plenty of meat with the gyro platter enough to even bring a little bit home then after a while they added 2 folded pita breads on a toco stand and put meat in between the pita's. Definitely not as much like before using the 2 breads. And the last time there about a month and they put very little meat between the 2 breads and I mean like 3 slices on each piece of bread. Probably 1/2 of what they would give you when we first started going. Prices are not cheap and cutting back on portion sizes is not a good way to keep regular customers. I probably will not go back again. It's a shame because the food is very good and the service is good and location but skimpin on the portion is not acceptable. HORRIBLE PEOPLE starting with the aggressive and arrogant manager! They failed to give us our complete take out order forcing us to drive all the way back and keeping company waiting- then the ridiculous manager (who should be fired) accuses me of lying to him and trying to steal an additional meal. When I suggested he come to my house and see what they gave us as he accused us of lying to him- he became completely belligerent. Busy Greek restaurant in a shopping center. Food was very good, with just one hiccup for me, I wish the lamb wasn't overcooked. We started with a plentiful mixed spread platter, more than enough for 4 people to share. Grilled feta with tomato and peppers and Grilled Octopus cooked perfectly. The Bronzino was delicious and very big. Two lamb shanks in orzo was another hit. Lamb on Fire was marinated loin lamb ribs was big enough to share or better big enough to take home for a second meal was a little overcooked, next time I will order it medium rare. Hidden gem On rt 33. My family and I have been to the red bank location which was delicious. We were happy to find one closer to home. They have a great lunch menu and the portions are huge! Gyros for $10 and gyro bowls for $14. The food is hot and fresh and im So glad we have a local authentic greek spot in our area now. read more

First time here, but new to Greek cuisine.. we started out with a couple of appetizers the Dolmades-stuffed grape leaves with rice and herbs, i usually eat mine cold, but these were warm and delicious, with an extra squirt of lemon juice. Calamari was tender, fresh and battered lightly, we polished off the plate in record time. Of course my hubby is a cheese freak, so the Feta cheese that has the flame, was a must and it did not disappoint, I know for some its a tourist thing, but it's so good!!! We were with dear friends so our orders were as follows- Myself and my friends wife ordered the beef and lamb gyro platter- which ONE PLATTER was enough for the nights dinner, the next days lunch and my Mother In Laws lunch the next day- and that was just my order, so come hungry- I have to add that the Tzatziki is hands down the best I have ever had! her hubby had the bifteki platter, this looked incredible and - nothing was boxed to go home, he ate it all. My hubby who travels a lot, ordered the meat odyssey platter for two, and half of it boxed to-go, before it came to the table. When I tell you.. this was a phenomenal amount of food for the price-- I am not lying - like it had gyro meat, ribs, the bifteki patties, chicken souvlaki--- and you have the choice of two sides!!! TWO SIDES!! like amazing- well all the dishes came with the choice of two sides, but it was so good, and you can't possibly eat it all.. but you sure try!! for dessert, yes we kept room for dessert, I had the baklava and our friends ordered the galaktoboureko to take home, we all had coffee. Everything about this experience is amazing! They do everything to make the dining experience a very enjoyable one!

I've been a fan of this trio of restaurants for many years. I used to live close to the Ocean location and ordered takeout from them almost weekly. This location is bigger and has more tables. The food is just as good. I was here just yesterday with my mom and SIL and we split the spanakopita app, the zucchini chip app, the moussaka, and the lemon chicken entrees. I've been obsessed with their lemon potatoes (that come with both entrees) for years! Everything was delicious and their portions are huge! The service is also wonderful and it is totally family run. read more

Be aware, the menu that's in the restaurant for dine in and the menu you get as a flyer in the mail, are different. We only saw the flyer and their menu online, which are only for take out. So I was disappointed because I couldn't order a falafel pita wraps. I got the vegan odyssey, which came with a side, which I picked fries for, and my partner ordered the shrimp pasta. The pasta was more Italian based than I would think Greek, but what do I know. The vegan odyssey was supposed to come with other add ons, but maybe they omitted it because they weren't vegan. The vegan odyssey was okay, a little uninspired--the beans and the beets were just, beans and beets. But so much food. Good deal for the money but I'd probably just get take out. read more

I ordered take out from this restaurant, my order was a Lamb Chop platter with rice and a salad. I got home, opened up the bag and saw instead of the item I ordered, the woman that took my order instead gave me Lamb Souvlaki on a bed of rice. I called back and informed them of the incorrect item, so had to drive back to the restaurant to pick up the correct order. They allowed me to keep the souvlaki and as a "mea culpa" gave me a dessert; I believe it is something called Ravina. I don't eat sweets or desserts so although I appreciated the gesture it didn't really win me over as I was already annoyed that I had to drive back because of the incorrect order. Now, onto the food. The lamb chop was just ok, nothing to write home about. I felt that something was missing - some kind of seasoning. Plus I found the meat to be dry. The lamb souvlaki was very dry and that meal was not enjoyed at all. Maybe down the line I'll give this establishment another chance, but at the moment I have no plans to revisit this restaurant. read more

Delicious Greek food! Came here after a basketball tournament nearby and so happy we did. They started us off with a large basket of pita bread. We got the gyro fries,the saganaki, so delicious gyro platter and lemon chicken! Every dish had a healthy portion of food. We left with 3 to go boxes but was full to the brim. I've been wanting to come to this location for a while. We've been to the location in Ocean Township and liked it a lot. So, we were excited that this place opened up closer to home. Upon entering, we see that the restaurant is medium in size, with large scrolls with Greek words and definitions hanging on the walls. Oil lamp sconces adorn the areas above the booths, which line the walls. There are also regular tables as well and they are positioned alongside the window and all along the center of the restaurant. Towards the front of the place is a dessert display case as well. We ordered the following: Eggplant dip and taramosalata (Greek fish roe dip) - The restaurant was very generous with the bread. Hubs liked the dips a lot. Loukaniko (greek sausage with leeks). We substituted with cheese fries. They put the cheese fries with the Lamb on Fire. We liked this appetizer a lot. Lamb on fire, which is Greek seasoned lamb ribs and shoulder loin marinated and flame grilled. Served with one side and tzatziki sauce on the side. Hubs liked it so much that he ate it a week later as leftovers. As I mentioned, he ordered cheese fries as a side but it came along with Loukaniko, instead. Greek paella, which has chicken, sausage, mussels and shrimp with Greek herbs served over saffron rice. Daughter and I liked the saffron rice a lot and agreed that this dish was delicious. Service was a little slow and friendly. It took a while for our entrees to arrive but everything was delicious. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu. read more

Greek spot is legendary in this area. It was packed when I came to pick up my food. The saganaki was good and with a touch of lemon it gets even better. The gyro fries were ok but a little bland. The fries were cooker nicely but the mystery meat was bland. Usually that stuff is seasoned heavily so it was surprising. Always love it at the greek festivals. Loved the tzatziki that comes with it. One of the better tzatziki's I have had. The pork souvlaki platter with lemon potatoes were good. The pork had good flavor with maybe a little too much char. Potatoes were lovely. The lamb in the lamb pita was a little chewy so not the biggest fan. The pita was authentic with all the necessary ingredients inside. The desserts looked fantastic and if I wasn't stuffed I would have tried the baklava. 4 star spot! read more

The portabella mushroom appetizer was delicious. We have never had any better moussaka or lamb shank, both of which were superb. Another family member, who lives locally, felt the branzino was impressively crisp and exceptional. The baklava was alright but nothing special, unlike the above items. The competence and friendliness of the staff definitely enhanced our most positive experience. The lamb souvlaki was over cooked, past well done so much I could not get the meat off the skewers. Wasn't even sure it was lamb, that's how bad it was. Another guest seating with us had the same dish but with chicken. Same experience, way over cooked. Sad. I was expecting a better experience since these were not difficult dishes to prepare. Greek spot is one the best Greek restaurants in the central New Jersey area. They recently opened this location that much closer to me so I decided for my birthday to check it out. The advantage compared to the others is a combination of a restaurant, and they sell Greek foods and seasonings. Comfortable seating. Enjoyed the walls with the Greek sayings. Greek music did play but kept going on and out. Pita and oil came with our dinner. Staff was very attentive. We ordered Tiropitas for an app and came with a Greek yogurt spread that was a nice add on. My wife ordered an appetizer that was a Portabella mushroom for a meal with Greek fries and rice. You would think based on the picture that would be a meal, but it actually was the app. She enjoyed it and the rice was a nice add on to it. I got the pork ribs. I felt the quality of the rib itself was not the best and chewy. Those ribs need to to change from who they order from. The flavor was there still. The tzatziki on the side was one of the best I ever tasted. It had a cream cheese like spread. Fries were also great. I ended with a Greek coffee which was perfect. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. It's still a family owned business across all 3 places. We will definitely return, but next time try the gyro platter. read more

Yelping restaurants is a difficult decision. On one hand you want the restaurant to succeed and on the other hand you don't want the restaurant to be so popular that it's super crowded. The Greek spot restaurant is one of those restaurants. A brand new location of one of our favorite Greek restaurants give it a fresh non crowded atmosphere. We went on a weekday and found the restaurant to be relatively empty but still busy with the tables that were occupied with families and groups of people. We are very familiar with Greek food and have patronized the other Greek Spot restaurants on a pretty regular basis. One of our past vacations brought us to Tarpon Springs in Florida, a Greek enclave located in the Gulf. The Greek dishes there are spot on. The dishes at the Greek spot also is spot on and does not disappoint. You will not see any dry meat here, everything is flavorful and moist, from the gyro meat to the kabobs everything wonderfully flavorful and seasoned perfectly. The tzatziki sauce if to die for. I shared a meta platter for two with my wife and my daughter got the lamb platter cooked to perfection. Service was a little slow, which is understood for a new location but I'm sure it will get better in time. The owner was walking around asking how everything was going and we were happy to see he was surveying the guests. The wait staff returned to our table several times and kept our glasses and bread basket full. Definitely will return again for another great meal. Good luck to your new location. read more

Great food! Went there last night with the Fam for the first time. Everything was so fresh and the portions were big as well. Service is friendly and efficient. Appetizers we had Calamari, spanakopita puffs and Greek salad - - - just freaking delicious! Main entrees we got chicken and pork (the best) shish kebabs with fries with a delicious cheese on top! Desserts, the kids loved the lava cake with ice cream but I have to say that I didn't like their Baklava - - - very dry in the middle and too much cinnamon on it.
