I was a bit nervous because the description was a bit vague, an the price seems a bit too good to be true. Once booked, I was contacted by the management company and they gave me a few options on how to pay. One of the options was to wire transfer money which was a bit sketchy but they did have other options. I read the other reviews describing how other people would arrive and were left out in the cold. Luckily, that did not happen to me. I think there might've been a management change because everything was done professionally. The person that I dealt with was Miranda. Understand that it is a residential apartment that gets rented out, so the process is more like an AirBnB than a hotel. I was given instructions on what to do and where to meet for the key. The process of getting the key and checking in was a bit nerve racking because of the other reviews but in actuality it was pretty easy. The pictures are accurate as the room I stayed in had 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a living room with a pull out couch, an additional bi-fold couch and a full kitchen. Great location too! My friend had also left his glasses there and Miranda shipped it overnight without charge which shows they are willing to go the extra mile. I hope whatever issues with the other reviewers are in the past. I had no issues with my stay and this would definitely be the first place I look to when I return to Portland.

Also, location is very convenient to many good eats (restaurants & food trucks) and shopping nearby!! For the same cost of a nearby hotel, our unit came with 2 bedroom/2 baths, full kitchen (with a full fridge, though mainly used to store beverages since we were out and about most of the trip) and living room...what's not to LOVE about this?! Definitely bang for your bucks especially if you're sharing with friend(s). For the master bedroom, you pretty much have a 180 degree view of Portland (since windows are floor to ceiling)...loved waking up to this view! For me, the bed was super comfy so that's also plus! Communication with Pelican was great as they were very quick and responsive to any questions I had! Check-in is a little different than if you were checking into a hotel, but the process was quick and seamless. Highly recommend if you're considering a stay in Portland! Can't wait for another trip here!

Molly from Vacasa reached out after my initial review, and suggested that they would look into the…read moreissues, and perhaps offer a partial refund, but have had zero response once again. No apparent interest in improving their service IMHO. Zero stars. The irony is that after our stay, we received a recruitment letter from Vacasa offering to manage our SoCal and AZ rental properties. Ummm, no!
